Peppas has such good food but their service is sooooo poor. I hadn’t been to this location in a while and decided to give them a try since I was in the neighborhood. Loved the changes and the vibes but soon enough I saw even with the new decor, the attitude is the same. No prices listed, no menu available to view, and poor service. There may have been a shift change but with all the workers out in the front, I still had to beg someone to take my order after standing there for over 7 minutes patiently waiting. Not to mention the lengthy line of people that also formed behind me. No sense of urgency. No sense of customer service. My number was #35 yet #36, #37 and #38 all got their orders first. #37 saw me still standing there and questioned how come i didn’t get my food yet. Especially since we pretty much had the same order of just chicken. Finally, # 35 is called. The order had been on the ledge with others being placed in front of it. When I mentioned it to the packer, I was asked why was I making a big deal. He picked up the orders in the order on the ledge. Sighhhhh and Smh! I’ll take my time before coming back again. I pray they make some changes.

Today was the first time me and a friend went to Peppa's. My friend lives in Brooklyn and heard the food was good, so we ventured out and drove there. I can see why most people order for delivery or pickup if you don't live within walking distance because it's hard to find a place to park. But we finally got a spot. We walked in looking for a menu, but none was posted. The only signage was cash only; ATM inside. No one greeted us; no "Order Here" sign; everyone seemed too busy to acknowledge us. We finally just started asking what do you serve, where do we order, what's this & what's that while looking at the hot serving table. A long story short, we finally placed our orders of one large stewed chicken plate & one large fish plate. Me and my friend, who is 81 YOA, was very disappointed in the lack of customer service, lack of communication from the staff, and some seemed annoyed that we asked questions. Once we got to my friend's place and tasted the food, it was very tasty. We were happy with the food; the food was good. But please consider posting the menu, ordering instructions for walk-ins, and give customers the impression you appreciate their business ... even if you're busy filing orders.

The customer service, leaves much to be desired and is nothing short of nasty. The dispositions and the lengthy period of time that one has to wait in order to get service and then, finally get your food, is quite horrendous to say the least!!!!!! N0 FOOD IS WORTH THIS!! This woman here is the absolute worst and is part of the reason that businesses as such fail. I waited 42 mins for a jerk chicken meal, all due to them prioritizing Uber Eats, over the walk in customers. Meanwhile having customers wait while they rush to cook chicken and served it half cooked. The workers act as though they're hanging out, rather than being there to work. When they assist, they act as though they are doing you a favor. Where is the owner of this establishment??? There is no regulation here, which leaves me to wonder if any of the workers even have legitimate working papers, for their behavior is unrefined like savages!! Who doesn’t value the hand that feeds them?

After working a 12 hr shift servicing the needs of New Yorkers. I got off late and decided to get something to eat, this store usually takes a long time to get your food. The two ladies at the front were not helpful, one lady served liquor to two on duty sanitation workers, keep in Mind I am also a civil servant but was off duty at the time. The other younger heavy set female didn’t want to take my order, until instructed by a male associate. After I finally ordered, a male customer who seemed to be friends with one of the female workers came in, ordered his food, she quickly tended to his food and he left, only then did the heavy set younger female worker called me for my food. The service today was horrible. I will not be going back because of it.

I’ve never wrote a review on a restaurant until today. Tell me why you guys confirmed my food to be ready to be picked up at 7:04 yet when I got there at 7:08 my food was NOT READY. People they gave me my food at 7:40!!!! Mind you the nyc curfew is at 8:00. And one plate missed two items. This place NEEDS new MANAGEMENT. No one knows what’s going on. Only helpful person was a young adult male that was working giving out the orders in the front. So patient and actually spoke to you. Other than that they just look at you and ignore you or tell you to speak to someone else. I keep seeing comments complaining about the wait. Clearly they don’t care since there is no change. Please take what your customers say to consideration. Communication can get your ratings up. Your food is great but the wait is honestly not worth it. Disappointed.

I use to visit the location in Flatbush. This location is definitely an upgrade. Very clean . Food very savory . Good portions for your money . Customer service was also very good . I rated it 4 stars because the food is way too spicy . I got Rasta pasta with stew chicken. I bought a large with the intentions to share with my son but it was way too spicy for him. I am Caribbean so I understand we cook with spices, however when cooking for a large crowd you have to be aware that everyone does not like spicy food . I’m personally not a spicy food fan so I had to keep drinking water after every bite . Consider giving ppl the option to add pepper to their individual platters rather than making the big batch so spicy. Despite I will return and try a different option. Thanks

I ordered for pick up when I went because they were doing cash only so I ordered while I was in the store to use my card. It was like almost 3 o'clock in the am so they didn't have much. I order plaintains to go with my food but didn't have any in the store so I was disappointed... they had mango lemonade thought that was unique and different. Wasn't bad. The jerk chicken was all they had and it was tender but not the flavor of jerk chicken I am use to. It was a sweet light heat. Overall food was decent. Received my order from this establishment with hope and prayer they would, at least, be able to get this order right. But, no. I requested two (2) orders of fried shrimp for the wife. They made sure only one order was there. I called them at approximately 8:00 p.m., of which, they kept me on the phone for a minimum of ten minutes. No one came back to me with any form of resolution. The funny thing is I believe that was the response. At the eleventh minute they hung up the phone on me. They have an amazing brand of customer service. Peppa’s: If we get the order wrong, ez your fault. I don’t know why you calling us about your problems. Ya get food. Eat! And, tell de loss!

The costumer service at the Flatlands location in Canarsie is so disgusting. I went there to ask about catering services when I was completely brushed off and asked to join the line with people who were ordering small plates to go. There was no catering menu and just no respect at all. If I'm coming into an establishment to spend BIG money, I want to be treated with respect. If you need any carribean food catering you should go to Footprints. Once I went there I was seated with a catering menu and a lovely employee who assisted me with all my needs. I spent $880 on food with them. That $880 could've been yours Peppas.

I was born and grew up in Kingston Jamaica, so I know the cuisine very well! I was visiting from out of town and decided to visit Peppa's. I give credit where its' due...the jerk chicken didn't taste like jerk (it taste like it was done in a conventional oven) and the meat was dry. The rice and peas was okay and the steam cabbage was excellent!. The plaintains (they give you only 2) was dry and hard. I may give them a 2nd chance (like I do other restaurants) to redeem themselves.

I got jerk chicken (topped with a little sauce) with rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. Tasted good, and it's a nice price point $10 for medium plate. There was a bit of a wait when I came in. I figured that to be a good sign considering the amount of people ordering and how busy they were - good food can take some time to make, and people can't get enough of good food. They had covid regulations in place from spacing stickers to barriers. Service was as quick as it could be and polite. Oh and just a heads up they don't accept card so have cash handy (though there's an atm in the store).

Food is alright but on TWO occasions back to back, they forgot the festival that came with my meal. My favorite part of the meal is the festival. Such a letdown when you’re waiting a long time to food to find part of the meal you’re waiting for and that you paid extra for MISSING; and again this happened TWICE. They need to do better. 8/24 update: despite putting in my UberEats notes to please not forget the festival, THEY STILL FORGOT THE FESTIVAL. UPDATE: This was swiftly handled by Makeda; thank you for being professional, kind and taking care of the issue.

I was underwhelmed with the food. The jerk chicken was okay, the peas and rice was bland, I had better mac and cheese (the taste was "different" can't pinpoint what seasoning was over powering the cheese) and the festival would have been good but it had an after taste of grease. I'm in Queens and I used Ubereats, it took 2 hours (it's Friday and they may have been busy) for the food to arrive and I didn't get everything that I ordered (macaroni salad was missing). I didn't like the food but that's the risk you take when you want to try something new.

Some of the staff NEEDS to be more polite and courteous. A staff should not be rude to costumer when asking a practical question as if they are interrupting the vulgar dancehall music that is playing inside. Which is highly inappropriate for a place of business such as a restaurant. Keep the ratchet staff in the back and retrained on how to be polite to customers that is walking in and purchasing. They are your money bag and your network, you want them to come back.

Oxtail is not worth it, get anything but Oxtail I Paid 22 dollars for a large, I got 5 small Oxtail, tons of rice and the work see my checking my food to see if I got the right order he said he acting like a bad man, I Been places and I was like this would be a small, this is laughable!!! 5 Oxtail for 22 not even big it's so small. The food is alright, the only thing that kills me is the wait time, and the fact that something is usually missing from the order. Every order I have ever placed here has always taken over an hour to finish. You can literally see lines of delivery drivers outside waiting to pick up food as well. The fish dinner tasted wonderful but I really don't understand why this fish wasn't thrown back when it was caught. This is not a $14.00 size fish. PEPPA'S! Please tell me this was done in error.....Size Matters..... Three dinners costing $65.33 was not worth it. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted good but the fish dem too small.

The chef can cook but HORRIBLE SERVICE and apparently they either don't read, choose not to or just don't care about their customer's because they completely ignore requests. If you can go there fine but I would not recommend using any of the food apps they work with. There's a high probability you will be disappointed.

Jerk chicken is very good. Flavorful and not overcooked. Festival is good too. I would give them a five but the wait is long because the do get a lot of service and the jerk pork is flavorful but hard. I tried it again and it was the same thing. Food here is something else. Everything is sooo good. And that lemonade. I did the jerk pork rasta pasta, it tasted good, but the pork was a bit too tough. Everyone else got their jerk chicken and my goodness, the festival melted in your mouth. It was my first time. Can't wait to go back.

I ordered the Rasta Pasta and fried chicken combo. The Rasta Pasta was dry! Idk if they intentionally make it this way, but it was as dry as plain pasta. The fried chicken was BLAND beyond belief. It looked more appetizing than it actually was. So disappointed.

I ordered a chicken soup. Expecting chicken soup. Instead i got gravy with chicken bits. NO potatoes, 2 small carrots, NO dumplin, NO carrot. So upset. It was tastey but i just was expecting everything thats included in a soup for my money. Not just gravy

I often order the Stew snapper and pasta. CHEF’s Kiss. It’s so delicious. The food arrives hot and the flavors in the pasta are so good. I highly recommend.

Peppa's give you all the authentic Jamaican island flavors. The staff is efficient, polite and the food taste good. Peppa's get 5 stars for sure, it's not cheap but for the amount of food you get and the flavors it's well worth it!!
