Not respectful at all! Called in to make sure the dog wash is open, the guy who picked up the call said yes but we have 30min left. Which is okay. So we drove across the south to downtown with friends, but the lady told us: 1. There is only one side is useable. 2. You have to make it quick. 3. No hair dryer since they already cleaned up. 4. You can use the towel to dry. 5. You must have to make it quick because I have another people come in. Okay? Have friends work for pet value. I understand it can be a deep clean day but why you did not tell us these before we come? I already make a phone call in advance, so what do you mean by another people come in? Since when there’s reservations for dog wash now? Should train your employee more respectful with clients, not good attitude at all.

What a great experience. We recently brought home our little 3 month havapoo (Dexter) and we’ve gone to our nearby PetValu a couple of times. Both times we were helped graciously by Bailey (I sure hope I spelled it right) Bailey is very knowledgeable and helpful as we are both new dog owners. She helped us find treats, toys, and made us a name tag for him. He even had a lil Poo on their floor tonight and it was like it was no big deal at all. We cleaned it up, and chatted for a bit. Our pup loves it there too, always loves getting loving from the staff and already knows that when we go there he’s getting a treat or a toy. Anyways. Overall great experience, great staff. The end

I was out on a walk with my American stafordshire terriers and one of them broke free from their leash. While holding my dog from running into traffic, I googled pet stores nearby and noticed pet value nearby. Once I was able to get to the store nearly 1km away I realized I had no mask with me to enter the store during the pandemic. I plead with the store workers to grab me a leash and I could give them my debit card to make the purchase but they would not accommodate me in any way. If there was a lower review rating then 1 star you bet I would have put that. These people are terrible fearful people and will make sure the community around me hears about this.

Extremely disappointing experience, today I placed an order online for pickup and got an email shortly after that it was cancelled. I then went to the store on my way at home to inquire why and was told “nothing was in stock”. But when we checked, the items were clearly in stock. The staff member didn’t even offer to look up my order or find the other items I had ordered and instead wanted me to go around looking for it all. I wasted so much time. There were at least three employees working at the time and it was not busy at all.

The mask law ENDED and these liberal high schoolers that work their think they run the world saying I can’t come in without a mask because of a municipality bylaw that provincial leaders said is ridiculous. Well I’ll never take any of my animals to this place again. Kids thinking they have authority over this mask then when the law ended March 1st . Give your head a shake and reevaluate your life choices . Terrible power tripping business . Pet smart was WAY better and let me and my husky shop without a problem

March 25- the two staff were EXTREMELY helpful. Been to this downtown location well over 20x. Couldn’t have been better! Utilized the self dog wash station (two available) A range of shampoo & conditioner available for you to choose ie :tea tree, shed control, anti odour, purple brightness conditioner & sent spray. DYI Blow dry is there too. This particular store just got a beautiful brand of tags you can engrave your pet companions name in- Exceptionally pretty. Staff brought me treats for my pet- how sweet.

First time customer. Called and inquired about a cat harness. The woman who answered was friendly and knowledgeable. She encouraged me to bring my cat in to try on the harness. Upon entering the store, I was greeted and helped right away. The sales person showed me how to fit the harness and at the same time was so complimentary of my cat. It was very sweet. They were also very kind to all the other pets in the store. Really pleased and will return. Nice to feel that I have a go to home store. Thanks ladies.

Clean, well organized with large aisles. Only one or two people working at a time. Not bad but occasionally you can't find someone for awhile. Sales don't happen too often, and when they happen they're not great. My experience is mostly with cats. ACCESSIBILITY: no automatic door. Door is light enough to open (I have fibro in my wrists and can manage from a standing position with one arm.) Large aisles and easy to turn set up. Smooth floor, perfect for aids. Low countertop with an adjustable machine.

Terrible customer service! The staff are so unhelpful and entitled. I asked for help in using the bath but instead of showing us they got confused and tried to explain it from afar. It was frustrating. They started giving attitude after not understanding what I need from them. The staff are mostly socializing with other staff instead of working. It looked like they were gossiping by the front. I paid for a bath at the beginning and they had the audacity to ask us if we had paid.

I love Pet Valu. The team members are always super friendly and helpful. In the past they've made great recommendations, helped us find the right options, and even been understanding when one of our dogs chomped a treat that was within chomping range. Love the products they carry, there is something for anyone whether you're looking for natural treats/food, durable toys, sustainable/upcycled toys, etc. Engraved tags available. Dog shower station available.

Awful. The young man that was working this afternoon clearly hates his job. No need to take it out on me a now former customer. Never returning to this store again.Also as for the response from “ownership “ you use the same canned response to address the same complaints over and over. Just reading through some of your reviews this is not the first time with this employee. This makes your response come across as being very disingenuous.

DEBIT AND CREDIT ONLY!!!! I will not support stores that go cashless. You are supporting a system that supports control over its people if you purchase here with only debit and credit. More stores are doing this so we end up with a cashless system it not appropriate. The bonus you get from the government to only go cashless isn’t worth selling your soul. I don’t support this store and I don’t support it’s values.

I was very disappointed how they treat the fish they have over at the store. Where big aquarium was so dirty, you could barely see the fish. And the containers they put in the betta fish was extremely filthy! One of the fish was floating upside down and the staff tapped the box to see it is still alive. Highly disappointed as petvalu appears to not value pets, or fish it seems.

The staff here are so knowledgeable and helpful. Anytime I've had questions, whether they stemmed from necessity or curiosity, or were about a specific pet or products, it was clear they knew their stuff and we're passionate about animals. The staff aren't just retail associates, they are a trustworthy source.

I've bought 3 vehicles from this place they are a very good place to buy vehicles Johnathon well give you a good deal if you find what you're looking for in their lot if it's not in the lot he will look for what you want and give you a call as soon as he finds what your looking for check it out for your self

Very friendly staff! Shoutout to Bailey who was very kind and went above and beyond to give me tips on how to take care of my new cat. Her recommendations and suggestions were on point. Her shift was done but she still stayed with me and showed me few more selections. Definitely coming back again!

Very dissatisfied customer. I was just made to feel like a thief. I wanted to simply exchange a bag of cod I purchased 2 days ago. Cant find my receipt. She told me if I can’t prove I paid for it she refused to exchange the store brand bag of food. That has never been the policy of petvalu.

Staff left their fried chicken leftovers on the ground, my dog got a hold of it and he’s allergic to chicken. There was no apologies from the staff and they also told me that because they close in 50 minutes that I can’t use the dog wash because it takes too long to clean…

Do not go to this location! They are refusing Cash and then calling security on anyone who brings it up. After letting the clerk know I intended to pay with cash he called security who stood there and watched me shop but it was extremely uncomfortable and rude so I left.

What a cool store! Very organized, lots of selections for both cats and dogs. I love how they always have sales or lots of clearance items. The staff are very friendly and helpful with all questions. They have 2 dog wash tubs, they are always clean and ready to use!

Expensive pricing overall. Unfair return policy for certain items. If your pet doesn’t like something you buy, just be aware that they may not refund you depending on the product. Just go to Homes Alive Pets or any other store where they have a solid return policy.

Very helpful staff. Even opened the box to make sure it had an adequate amount of supplies to last till the next purchase. Gave me tips and trucks that I would never had known on my own. Would recommend this location for your fish needs!!

Clean and very orgnized. I found the best litter scooper, and really like it after I tried. The only down side to me is their raw meat cat food option is very limited. Hope they can have more after the pandemic.

Almost all of the bettas were in dirty algae filled containers and looked generally unhealthy. The betta i purchased had filth in his container that I know takes weeks to grow.

Pretty store, interesting layout. Bath system was very easy to use. Shame they were out of conditioner. Both gentlemen behind the counter were very nice and helpful.

I always do all my pet shopping here for my chihuahua. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Bailey in particular always goes above and beyond for me .
