So disappointed in the service of one of the employees. I phoned ahead to ask if they had pjs for small dogs, the employee who answered the phone was helpful and said yes they did have a few. I went to the store and a polite employee showed me the clothes section, unfortunately there were no pjs. She then proceeded to show me their Christmas section, where there were about a dozen Christmas themed pjs. She told me all Christmas items were half price.Great! I found one of the last size small pjs, ones with reindeer pictures. I went to the register and when the employee (not the one who was helpful) rang up the bill it was full price. I said that because it was a Christmas item I was told it was half price. She rudely said it is not a Christmas item so it is full price. I inquired about the reindeer and how that could not be included in the Christmas section. After all, it was with the Christmas section, and it was the area pointed out to me as half price items. She rudely said it is not half price, it is not a Christmas item then just stopped and stared at me. Needless to say I just left without anything. It was my first time in Pet Valu and I don’t think I will be going back. I didn’t need to have the attitude from the employee, I can order online from Amazon instead.

Staff are extremely friendly except I had a bad experience with one of the groomers. Owner wasn’t very helpful when I complained. Was adamant his groomer was ‘one of our best groomers’. (That’s really bad if that’s true). They run dogs through there TWICE a week and give a WHOLE 5 MINUTES with your animal (nail trim). Would never have my dog’s nails trimmed there again. The groomer I dealt with was rude when I complained and had attitude. The remaining staff are excellent and knowledgeable and always helpful when I come in. Prices could be lower/more deals which I’ve noticed lately which is a good thing. I hope they keep that up. They have really good food for dogs (which is what I go there for). I’d give a 5 star rating if it wasn’t for that nail trim incident/groomer and the high prices. The floor staff are 5 star and the food as well, just need to continue to offer deals to make it easier to purchase from them.

Not the place to go with your dog if your dog is nervous, aggressive or reactive on leash. I went in with my dog because I didn’t want to leave him in the car and we were met with a dog free-roaming the store without supervision. He popped around the corner and started to bark at my dog. I later found out that the dog belongs to one of the staff — I ended up sending my fiancé outside with my dog because I don’t allow him to meet other dogs on leash, especially dogs I don’t know. The staff member (and who I assume owns the dog) kept telling me it was fine, and completely blew me off when I said my dog isn’t friendly. This is extremely dangerous and could have resulted in something much worse. I’m honestly still in shock that this is a normal occurrence for this location, and they still continue to let the dog roam free after numerous complaints.

Disappointed service when we realized the actual price was wrong after I paid and saw the original price on the receipt. Sometimes price tag doesn't match to the till system is totally normal, but I can't accept when I mentioned the price was wrong and no one was willing to fix it or go to check what's the price tag they have labeled on the shelves. I was still standing in the front till after I paid and ask a staff I need help because the price was not right, and suddenly all the front desk staff were gone except only one staff which directly refused my question and insisted she needs to take care the next customer which was after me. In conclusion, it was a very uncomfortable shopping experience when being disrespected and treat like a scammer, employees' troubleshooting action when having the price adjustment issue needs to improve.

The staff at this location are AMAZING! They are so friendly and knowledgeable. I am so happy with them and I will NEVER go to any other pet store again! They really care about the well being of the animals and are willing to go above and beyond to make sure I am not only happy but also educated in what I am feeding my puppy. They suggested many products to help me with my puppy's chewing and allergies and I cannot say enough good things about them, even my puppy enjoys going to visit our new friends at Pet Valu. Thank you soooo much for everything!

5/5 pups recommend. The staff here is great. Our dog enjoys coming here to meet other dogs for nail trim night or bathe him in the baths there. Compared to other locations, they are the best so far! We live in Transcona and we come to this location instead of closer ones. It helps that they have regular towels to help dry the dogs (other locations have small tea towels - which when you have an 80lb dog, you would need 10 of those)

My wife and I brought our dog to this pet value location. We were promptly helped by a kind and courteous lady. She had some great suggestions and really knew what she was talking about. When paying for a bag of cat litter, I discovered that there was a small hole in the bag and she went grabbed another one and brought it out to the car. It really made my day, what great customer service!

Best place for all my cats needs. We regularly buy the silicon gel cat litter, ultra brand weight management kibble and ultra brand wet canned food. My boy has urinary issues and the wet food there has a lot of water content and helps keep him away from the vet. Also, they have fish oils and urinary care supplements to keep my boy happy and healthy. I love Pet Valu!

The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I love that I can get our frozen raw pet food here. The manager is very friendly and is very helpful with questions and even a special order if needed. I wish there were more discounts as pet ownership can be costly at times. The $5 vouchers in December (based on total spend) were a nice touch and truly appreciated.

I'm a new dog owner so I was needing a lot of help deciding what was good and bad for my pug. Alex has always been so helpful in helping me choose the right stuff! All the staff are so kind and accommodating as well (especially when Kingsley got so excited and had an accident (sorry again!!)) Definitely the best Petvalu to go to!

Always helpful on the phone or in person the staff is friendly and always ready to serve you when they are free. If the person on the phone does not know what product you are asking about they find someone in the store that does. they are not scared to ask other staff members for help, I call that team players and customer care.

Great store. Buy most of my pet supplies here. I am in it at least once a week so the only thing I would change is for the staff to remember me instead of viewing me with suspicion. I probably spend at least $30.00 to $50.00 per visit so it seems insulting. I just try to ignore them because I like their selection.

Staff went above and beyond to give good service. New employee was having trouble because not all black Friday sale (shopped Saturday) were inputted and it was stressful for her. Manager handled it super professionally. Came in for cat food and left with so much more! Thanks so much!

I have been looking for the Zignature kangaroo small bites dog food for over a month now and it’s always out of stock every time I check. Food shouldn’t be out of stock for over a month, I hope they will be ordering some in ASAP. It’s the only food my dog eats and I am running low.

Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Used the self serve dog wash for the first time and they explained how to use everything. Everything is supplied even treats. Our dog loved it and it made life a lot easier than doing it at home. Way more room to move around.

Had a grooming appointment for our dog. Showed up there with the dog. Someone there had cancelled our appointment and booked it to someone else. The store refused to take the dog in and groom. Told us to book two weeks later. Totally unprofessional of this store.

All the Pet Valu stores have the products we use and great staff who are passionate about animals. When it's too cold for the off leash park we bring our dog to the store for a visit just to get out. They all love him, and he loves the attention.

I found the item I was looking for. The staff were helpful with advice about my pet issues. The staff also gave me food suggestions and showed me to where the products were. I like that they had small packets for one time use.
