I'd heard nothing but GREAT things about Petco and their grooming. We live in Kyle, TX and the store here is over two weeks out so we took our 1 y/o Sheepadoodle to this location for the first time. His hair was bout 1.5" long and we did ask to have him shaved short. The appointment was for 12:15PM and I called at 11:00AM and asked if I could please drop him off at 12:30PM since I was stuck in a meeting. The girl who I spoke with told me she was the one cutting his hair and if I wasn't there by 12:15PM she would need me to cancel or reschedule because she wouldn't have enough time to finish him. I said that was ok then and I'd be there on time. We were quoted $87.00 for the bath and haircut. I arrived at 12:10PM and was told that the girl cutting our dogs hair was busy and would be out in a few minutes. 12:30PM she came out and said she was ready. She felt him and said he had matting under his ears, so we had to have the Holiday Package because it covered any matting. She stated the new quote would be $115 plus tax. I thanked her and gave her $20.00 cash as an advance tip. Four hours later we were told that he was ready, so we went to get him, but the bill was $158.00. We asked why and they said the quote from earlier was wrong. After we paid, they then said "Oh! We are very sorry but we forgot to charge you the $30.00 for the matting under his ears." Granted, we complained but nothing much could be done. In the end we paid a total of $208.00 for the services. To add insult to injury the lady said that our dog was great, but wasn't used to clippers on his feet so she recommended we bring him back for 'touch up's" every three weeks for the next four months. YEAH RIGHT! Needless to say, not at all the experience we had expected.

June 24th I had two grooming appts for my two dogs. First appts. for the day, and literally they must have been the last 2 dogs to leave for the day! I scheduled them online a few weeks before & was able to snag the first two appointments for the day. 9/9:30 am. It's a long drive from Lago Vista to this North Petco location but Amanda had done a fabulous walk-in paw trim most recently and Cedar Park has lost all but one groomer for the time being. I was told at intake that it would be 3-6 hours for my two dogs, ok, I get it so I'll wait in the area and not drive back & forth to Lago. I assumed it would be around 3 pm when I'd get my dogs back from their groom. No call, no text, so I went back to grooming desk around 3 pm 'ish' to check, but Amanda says she hadn't started their cut yet, and it would take at least another 1-2 hours. Ok, I see plenty of other dogs coming in and out, what is going on with the scheduling? I'm floored at this point, but what can I do they have my dogs and I feel locked in to see this through. I had to cancel evening plans, and bottom line is I didn't receive my dogs back until after 6:30 PM. How does this scheduling model work right for ANY customer or ANY dog??? They were there from 9am until 6:30 ish? Petco has lost my grooming trust forever. Nothing more provided to me at the time but a few "I'm sorry's and free dog tooth brushings"... Ridiculous 9 hour dog grooming never again.

Wow this place has changed so much since I was here a few years ago. Today (May 6, 2023) the staff was beyond helpful. It was like they all just finished doing yoga. They were so present, kind, and considerate with everything. A person I spoke to for a while (long hair, glasses) went out of their way to explain so much stuff to me and help me find the right dental chews. The associate at the check out register was so kind. I was blown away by the environment there and how pleasant it is. Will be going here much more. A few years ago here I had the worst experience with who seemed to be the manager (old bald guy) who pushed me for walking in without a mask. I couldn’t wear a mask a lot due to hypoxia due to injuries from the Army. He didn’t care, him and some extremely voluptuous associate were cursing at me, putting their hands on me, and even took off his mask to get an inch away from my face and spit in it. This Petco location has changed so much since then. I will be going here instead of Amazon from now on. Such kind associates who truly love what they do.

Dropped by for a grooming and bath. I was told online that my dog, Australian shepherd male, would take around 2-3 hours and that's usually what it takes. After 4:30 hours I got a call asking me to pick him up because he "peeing multiple times" had just pooped. Well, after almost 5 hours what is to be expected? When asked that was told it was the "normal time" for a dog like mine and that shocked me. If I wanted to pay for VIP services than it would take the normal 2-3 hours. And that was Amanda - the manager. This unit has SERIOUS problems with time management. As soon as I arrived they were all lost, reschedule for the same time I had previously scheduled for some reason (no difference, probably just a thing on the system) and the employees were chit chatthing and not working too much. Same as when I got there to pick him up. I guess it was supposed to be crowded and it wasn't but there was definitely a job to do that wasn't done. I keep wondering how on earth it took them 4:30h for that. A normal shower and dryer takes 1 hour. What about the other 3?

Having Betta fish in tiny cups is animal cruelty, and is thankfully banned in other countries. So how Petco continues to mistreat fish is beyond me, but it is gross and cruel. Fish are not decorations. They can feel pain and stress, and studies show this. Imagine keeping a dog in a tiny cage with dirty water and hardly any air; that's the equivalent of what they are doing to those poor Betta fish. Not to mention the other fish tanks are super overcrowded. The birds don't fare much better either; I've seen almost 20 birds in that small area all at once. Please stop abusing Betta fish and other small animals for profit. They deserve just as much respect as a cat or a dog. Those puny cups are rightfully seen as cruelty in other countries, and those Bettas are needlessly suffering and dying just to make a quick buck. Be better, Petco.

I am a foster failure and have adopted the sick, injured little kitten who first came into my life on thanksgiving day. He was quite fragile and while he has flourished under my care, your store representatives are both well-informed and enthusiastic about sharing their observations and great advice. It affected my purchases, the first time in your store; I bought more! Let me add to that: my kitten just turned one and for a birthday present I had been looking, for months, for a Zoom Groomer tool. I was able to order one on Amazon, but after a month or more, they sent a notice saying it was out of stock. I went to Petco twice and the second time they had it in. My cat loves his present and I love Petco!

I when to get a grooming for a toy poodle and so lasttime i when there i pay for a mini make over same price has a full bath and cut and so the groomer had the aducity to tell me i charge you the same because it takes work to groom you dog when its a tiny poodle so it was lasttime i bring my dog to people that are in needed of tips i left her $5 just cause i feel bad about them they even weighted my dog to check its she was more than 7 pounds they were trying to find a way to overcharge at first they were trynna be smart but when they saw the comparison they started being soft lol make sure theres a over charging for a reason Young bad customer service incopetent Dont try to outsmart your local customer

Been using Vetco for my dog's vaccination and had great experience. Decided to take it further and Spay with Vetco Hospital at this location as well. During quoting, I had mentioned to microchip my dog while its under, during drop off, I had checked the box "Yes micro chip during surgery" In the consent form. But they forgot to micro chip it after all. Now my dog have to go through another pain to get microchipped somewhere else as I can no longer trust Vetco with level of attention to detail at administrative level on invasive procedures like this. But to give credit where it's due, the spay went smoothly and cut looks very clean, the doctor did a great job.

Went to pick up litter, had no idea they had hermit crabs. We've had a couple for several years, my 6 year old begged me to get them because "their home looks sad and we should rescue them." These poor little guys are forced into these ridiculous looking painted shells and do not have the adequate habitat at all. It's funny how they sell all the necessities for an adequate habitat, but DO NOT provide it for their animals while in their care. I left with one and I fell terrible for the others left. As soon we we brought the little guy home, he changed the shell with the first few hours in his new home.

I’m a semi my new dog owner I bought a Labradoodle, seven months ago and they grow quick. This is my place to get all the supplies I needed to raise this little pup. I came across these antler Chew toys and I was floored at the price I couldn’t believe how much they were. but after a month my Pup has never been able to chew through them. yet they continue to chew and chew so I realized they last a very long time and wound up being really well worth it because now I don’t buy a bunch other choking hazardous is chew bones.

This location is great… when they actually have things in stock. They are often out of clump free litter, crickets, mealworms, and water fountain filters which are the only things I really go there for. I also find that much of their stuff is very overpriced and/or they dont offer a cheaper alternative. For example, litter box lining bags- they only offer a 20 dollar box. You could just go to HEB and find a box of 20 for 8 dollars. I just would like to see some versatility in their selection.

The young woman who helped me was very pleasant, helpful & knowledgeable. I wish I could remember her name, but she had an Australian accent. I'd had a bad day before I came in, and my interaction with this young woman turned my day around and put a smile on my face. The store had exactly what I came in for (car booster seat for my dog) at a very reasonable price. I've shopped at this store before, and I've always had a good experience, due in most part to your store having great employees!

They butchered my dogs fur. Very choppy and uneven all over. The groomer knew it was a bad job, as she said “I know it looks rough” and offered to bring him back for a “touch up” if she had time next week. I will NOT be bringing him back. I believe they lack the experience need here. He was there from 1pm till 5pm. Also, they asked me to go to the counter and pay before I got my dog back. If I saw the job she did I certainly would have NEVER tipped. Will not be going back.

I came in looking for a hamster for my daughter for Christmas. I was kind of lost on what to get, and Kendall (employee) saw me and jumped right into help. Kendall's knowledge of hamsters was astounding. Kendall helped me pick out everything I would need to get started and suggested a hamster for me. The recommendations and above and beyond help made my little girl's Christmas amazing. I plan on returning for any additional needs or questions. Thank you, Kendall!

Love this petco! I came here with my puppy to get a haircut and was a bit worried initially whether he would have a good time, but Luis (?) was our man! By the way he handled the dogs, gently but firmly, you can tell he is very experienced and kind. Our pup got a fresh haircut (NOT a shave) and smelled really good. Also the gentleman at the checkout line gave us a dog treat which was really kind! A great experience overall and I would come back.

Do not use grooming here. I arrived (I’ll be it 3 minutes late) my groomers were not even here. Then they told me they cannot take my pets because they have had a calming treat!? They always recommend that they do take their treat beforehand. Now here we are 9:15 no groomer is here yet and neither one of my dogs were seen. Horrible service, rules are rules, now I know about the calming treat. But your groomer still isn’t here!

PetCo was outstanding handling our concerns! We went yesterday afternoon to get a new flea medication and had questions about time between applications after removing a different product, and the staff went above and beyond checking with the vet and ensuring our cat would be safe and actually directed us to a product that would work better than our initial choice. I can't understate how much we appreciated the service here.

Kitty has two homes now; she travels with me to Austin when I'm working here. These fine folks helped me set up her 'away from home' abode very affordably! The fellow at the checkout was curious about this Little Kitty who travels with me for my work! What can I say? She loves the car...in fact, that's how she and I first met. Little (yet unweaned) Kitty took a joy ride. And I found her at the driver's destination.

I love this place, their staff is very friendly and helpful, particularly the team that works in grooming services. I’ve taken my labradoodle dog to them for grooming many times now and he’s come out with a great haircut every time. They listen, ask clarifying questions and give you exactly what you asked for. I’m moving further away from this location sadly, hoping the other petco location is just as great.

Took my dog for grooming. After 5 hours, she came back with multiple cuts. When I filed a complaint, the manager apologized and offered a partial refund. Upon reaching the arboretum location, the manager was rude and said no more refunds will be given in the future. I will not be visiting this location in the future. Being a regular at petco, don’t understand how they can treat their customers so rudely.

Visited Petco last Monday to grab some supplies for my furry friend, and the experience was top-notch. The store was well-organized, making finding precisely what I needed easy. The knowledgeable staff provided excellent recommendations for my dog's specific needs. It's reassuring to have a store nearby that caters so well to our pets. Will definitely be returning for future purchases!

We bring our dogs to be groomed and pick up all our other doggie items here regularly. Amanda in the grooming area treats our pups like family and they love her bunches. Stephanie always helps check us out and is one of the friendliest team members I’ve ever met. Everyone there is really nice and they make a big corporate store feel like a small home town shop.

I bought my first snake here, a beautiful Ball Python, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The employee who helped me was so knowledge and she helped me get everything I needed. The staff who rang me up gave me feeding tips and were so friendly and nice. I highly recommend this store in particular but I've never had a bad experience at Petco.

Personnel at this story are friendly and polite. I was looking for the 8-pound size bag of World's Best Kitty Litter for one-cat households. It was available in the larger size but not the smaller. Since it's difficult for me to carry heavier sizes, I like buying the 8-pound bag. I did buy this brand for multiple cat households in the 8-pound size.

I saved a turtle from my job parking lot and I came in a half hour before they closed with him and Ellie helped me with everything!!! She was so knowledgeable and helped me feel comfortable taking home a turtle when I never had one. This girl deserves a raise!! But every staff member working was very kind and helpful!! Thank you so much!

Atom is the best ! She spent a lot of time with my son guiding us to buy the best fit for our first pet. After asking her so many questions she guided us for something totally different. Very pleasant honest and cares about the customer and the pets ! Five stars for sure! You will not be mislead or pressured to buy just whatever !

Never going back for grooming again and not suggesting to anyone to get grooming at this location. I had Amanda B assigned for my pet, she was horrible and didn’t care about grooming. They trimmed my pup hair so short without giving any notice made my pet look like never before, he is a maltipoo and not properly trimmed nails.

I waited almost 5 minutes for an employee to tell me where a specific kind of dog food was, she was blatantly ignoring me and talking to someone else about cats that had nothing to do with the store , not acknowledging me at all, and continuing to chit chat when clearly I had a question , Australian accent , super annoying

Always enjoy a trip to Petco. Great place to take your pets for a fun outing, great dog toys for all types and the grooming center is like a real day spa but for animals. They always did such GREAT work with my fur baby. She would get bathed and pedis wirh a treat. She always leaves feeling so proud and ready to show off

Friendly staff, and prompt service. Can't ask for better. I needed wet cat food that was specialized for a specific kind of diet, and while there wasn't a lot to choose from, the staff were friendly and genuinely seemed interested in helping search. It wasn't a busy day, so the atmosphere was pretty calm and relaxed.

Terrible, Grooming services. Did a butcher job on my dogs. Said it would take 4 hours, 8 hours later still not done. When finally dine, ahaved to the skin, nicks, and anxiety ridden. Groomer complained that they urinated. I am sure she took a bathroom break 8n rhat time. too bad she didn't let my dogs. Never again.

This Petco has turned into my primary one due to its proximity to my primary HEB and, of course, Costco. Always a positive experience here with reasonable prices and friendly employees. They always have super cute cats up for adoption too which is hard to pass up. Glad to call this Petco my primary one, no doubt!

This place has given me the run around several times. Great Hills Petco staff is rude and gives you the “ stink eye”! They will sell you a monthly membership and you will not be able to take advantage of the benefits. They triple book themselves. They do not give you any extra care or concern for your pets.

This location always has my dog's dog food in stock! The one close to where we live doesn't always have it in stock which can be annoying. Parking is easy here and the store itself is well maintained and pretty clean. It doesn't feel as cramped as other Petco's that I've been to, which I really appreciate.

The staff here helped me out a lot. I love all the products in store & love that my pups can come in the store with me. One thing I would like is more sales or competitive pricing as Amazon has the same products for a cheaper price. In Petco we get the products same day but again cheaper pricing online.

Currently (Jan 2018) undergoing some renovations, but still a great store to visit. They have rescues come in a lot and do adoptions, and for Christmas they have a tree with donations to need pets. I get the impression they care about animals a lot here. Some of the nicest Petco staff I've met.

Always a pleasant shopping experience at Petco. My cats love their Orijen food. Store associates are always willing to help and I appreciate the variety of products always available, from Christmas gifts, apparel, bedding, travel supplies, etc everything you need to make your fur babies happy.

This is the best location in the area. The store is big, the staff are great, the selection is great, etc. Alex, in grooming, is the BEST. We love her, and most importantly, our dog loves her. We live in Cedar Park but come to this location very often for the store, the staff, and the groomer.

Everyone at the facility was very good with my dog--they were warm and caring. They were patient and listened intently. All of my questions were answered and additional resources were given. They made my nervous dog feel loved and reassured. I will trust them from now on with my pets.

Petco no longer carries shock collars, which is fantastic. Now I'd like to see them do away with the choke, pinch and prong collars. Better yet, offer lots of reward-based loose leash walking classes to help folks get the training they need without collars designed to hurt dogs.

My puppy had worms veteran precribe Some medicine that cost $61.00 that made my puppy trow up. I call them and they told me to stop giving it to him. He already had been dee worm. He really didn't need the medicine. So why precribe something he didn't need. I'm on a fix budget.

I took my dog Lulu for a bath and shave. Pego and the cashier were so nice and helpful. My dog was nervous going in but was so happy when we came to pick her up. Pego faded the paws and head hair into the shaved body so that her coat didn’t look weird. Great experience!

My dog Tessa and I say thank you to Samuel and the rest of the staff at Petco. While there were some technical difficulties with the new dog food refill station, the staff worked on the issue and had fantastic customer service the entire time. I will definitely be back.

My pup has completed two positive puppy training courses here and I’m always happy to recommend based on my experience. Briana is attentive, kind, and dedicated. Such a valuable investment as a new pet owner and feels good knowing I have a base now as my pup matures.

Johnny helped me last night and was absolutely the best help I had ever had in a store period! Very knowledgeable and actually spent time teaching me an about my snake that I was purchasing. Never felt rushed and felt very welcomed! Great place with a great staff!

They have everything I need for my dogs, and for the cats that show up at my door. The store is clean and cheerful, set up with roomy aisles to bring your dog with you. Checkout is fast and easy, staff always remind me of my points so I can use them.

Amanda B was our groomer and did the best job I could imagine. I've given terrible haircuts to my 70 lb 3-legged dog before and know it's a serious workout. She met us with a smile and left us with a smile. Very professional!

Groomer manager helped me in the AM. Told her and her groomer not to cut my dogs ear hair off. Made direct eye contact. They acknowledged what I said. Well they did, gave me some lame excuse that her ear hair was matted.

Went to get a specific cat brush. Unfortunately they were out of stock, they offered to check with other locations. But I decided to get a different one, AND my cat absolutely loves it! GREAT store, WONDERFUL employees!!

Petco grooming took my appointment even though I booked it at a different location. I can normally get in quickly and love that. They took less time than indicated and my little girl looked great.
