I've been here twice on a Saturday for brunch and each time I've experienced the same bizarre issue. I was very understanding the first time but to experience it twice in a row and months apart is bizarre. Each time I've been the cashier let me and my colleague know that they were "backed up on orders" and "short on staff" (maybe delivery as the restaurant was nearly empty each time?) and asked for patience. The first time, no problem. The second time, they added to come back in 10 minutes to place the order. We asked why we couldn't just place the order and we could accept that it would take a while before we could enjoy our meal, but we were again asked to come back in 10 minutes. Ok. When we came back 10 minutes later to place our order, a different cashier said they were not taking orders. We let them know the first cashier had said to come back, and so they took our order. The orders came out with no issue, and the food is OK, but now that Rose Ave Bakery is opening up, I'll enjoy brunch there in the future to avoid the weird hassle of ordering I've experienced at Petit Monde.

The cafe sounded promising until we entered. First there was no service, the order has to be made before seating after what we had a table tent that was not very useful as the waiters didn't know who order what. We might have been unlucky but the pizza oven wasn't working limiting the choice and there was no tapioca for the bubble tea. We had to wait 20min to get 2 out of 3 drinks. The sandwich we asked without cheese had cheese in, and they Forget 1 of our plates. And finally one of the 2 woman bathroom was out of order. I therefore could definitely not recommend coming to this place.

What a beautiful find right before my family and I headed to the Smithsonian Zoo. This beautiful cafe had such a European vibe with their delicious brunch menu that satisfied everyone’s appetites. Their veg delight sandwich and their veg omelets were made to perfection. Their smoked salmon sandwich reminded us of Katz Deli style sandwiches. There is no wait staff… you order your food at the cashier and it’s brought to your table once prepped. It’s a boutique style cafe and it’s highly recommend for any and all party sizes, they also have parking in the back of the restaurant.

Was looking forward to our first visit to this cafe as reviews were generally good. Arrived at 10:00 am for brunch. Ordered their Breakfast Platter and Smoked lox sandwich. The person taking my order said it would be 10-15 minutes. Went upstairs to wait. At 10:25 I went down to see what was happening to our order. I was told it would be at least another 15 minutes. That was it. No “sorry we are short staffed”, “sorry for the delay” - nothing. We decided to cancel our order and leave. Walking out, I took notice of the folks sitting at the outside tables - not one table had any food! Incredible!

I love this little cafe. It's in a cut row house with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is really nice and welcoming and I have yet to have anything bad from the menu. Because they don't have a full waitstaff and are in a quieter part of town they aren't as packed or loud when busy. It's a great place to study with a group or bring a book on your own. I come here almost every weekend now. 10/10 a lot of charm and chill.

If you are looking for somewhere to grab a morning espresso on the go, avoid this place. 1) Service is slow. The counter guy has to serve the line and then disappear into the kitchen to make your drink. Long wait, 2) My wife said it was the worst cappuccino she'd ever had, very little coffee, no foam, scalding milk. I got an iced Americano wasn't so bad. 3) the croissants are basically supermarket quality. 4) It's not cheap! Basically you are better off going to Starbucks.

Came on a Saturday morning a few days after opening and was very impressed! Owners and staff were so nice and the food was great-- we had the breakfast pizza and coffees. We saw a lot of people walk by us looking interested but I think the signs weren't clear where to go to grab the breakfast vs where dinner happens. I do hope they get better signage to show the offerings they have and where to go as there are 2 levels to the building. Very excited to have this new restaurant in the neighborhood. We'll be back!

Absolutely disgraceful customer service. I ordered from DoorDash and expected a simple delivery. They had the nerve to confirm the order then decide to not fulfill it and claim they had no knowledge of DoorDash nor . To make matters worse a staff member cursed at me when I called to figure our what was going on and hung up the phone. A lot of their business comes from tourists and people in the city just looking for upscale fast food. Stay clear from this place. Their staff are rude, and utterly unprofessional

Delicious food, friendly people, quick service, what else could you ask for in a place? The pizza is incredible and the breakfast pizza is my favorite. Also, you can get a pizza and a bottle of wine for $25 which is a great deal. The baguette, breakfast food and coffee are also of high quality. They also have a nice patio to eat outside. Overall, it’s a great experience and one of my new favorite restaurants / breakfast spots in D.C. I definitely recommend checking out if you are in Woodley Park.

  • Michael Gendron

I had the breakfast burrito, and it was excellent. However, the orders for my table came out about 10 minutes apart. That was a bit strange. The restaurant is clean and neat, but it’s definitely more of a fast food place.

Came all the way from Maryland just to eat here, and upon arriving, was told by the front desk that the restaurant closes at 3pm contrary to what it has on google (9pm) - ate at the cafe (basement subsection of the building) and the food was slightly above average, however the pizza I got was completely wet and soggy in the middle from oil. It tasted fine though. Got the bubble tea and the tapioca tasted expired or something, it wasn’t normal. Wouldn’t go to the cafe again

  • Francis Moore

Stopped here in the morning and got some of their prepared baked goods (pumpkin muffin and spinach quiche) with two of their fall drinks. Our drinks took almost 20 minutes to come out and were really mid for what they cost, and the food was okay but not great. Their hot food might be better, but a muffin isn’t hard to mess up :/ very disappointing

Awesome cafe for refreshing drinks and food . It’s in roadside , ambience of the place , cleanliness , staffs attentiveness , friendliness all were great. We did not had any good item but we ordered coffee and bubble tea. We very much liked the drinks except the mango bubble tea. It is ok taste except the strawberry tea was very good with apt sweetness and refreshed our trip . I would definitely come back here.

I have eaten at Petit Monde a few times since they opened. The breakfast pizza was absolutely amazing! I've also tried the Icelandic Smoked Salmon on potato confiti, and the Smoke Salmon Eggs Benedict for brunch. (They have bottomless or per glass mimosa option. The owners and their staff are really great people. If you find yourself around the Woodley Park area, be sure to visit this gem!

  • Patrick Bristow

Had a Thai tea and a red velvet cupcake. Both were unfortunately disappointing. The Thai tea had a wrong taste, kind of like an aftertaste, and was too sweet. The cupcake was dry and lacking and cream cheese flavor in the white filling stuff. Very friendly service and a nice atmosphere but I wouldn't recommend this cafe.

Wow! Woodley Park DC actually has a real, full-on coffee shop and cafe! A suggestion - Buy the in-house cookies that come two in a small bag over the pre-pack over-sized cookie. Yum! Lovely space to chill & enjoy a coffee or chai.

I really like this place although the coffee is hit or miss. I’ve had an amazing latte one day and a terrible one the next, not sure exactly why. The food is pretty good and it’s nice to enjoy it on their front patio. I enjoyed their Turkey club and breakfast items on multiple occasions.

This cafe is chic. They have many seating options. It feels cozy, and relaxing. You can sit outside, in the dinning room, in the general service area, or upstairs in a private room. It was quite and intimate. Great lunch or casual date ideal. My sandwich and salad were tasty. If I'm ever in DC again, I definitely stop by.

  • Virginia Milius

Wow! Just what I needed before leaving DC. I got the Beef Short rib hash and it was just delicious. The cilantro was a bit weird in this dish. Parsley would have been fine by itself. The flavor was rich and beefy. Potatoes cooked very well and the grilled toast went well with the dish. Overall great experience.

The location is good and seating is nice but the coffee is bad. My wife and I both bought americanos and neither of us enjoyed them. For mine, the flavor was not good and it was weak. I've had breakfast sandwiches here which were good but expensive. If you are looking for coffee, there are better places.

Beautiful setting, fantastic staff, delicious food! We couldn't have been happier with our margherita pizza, frappuccino, and gelato. While we waited, we enjoyed all the cute decor and looking out to the adorable patio. Even the other patrons were super friendly. Everything about it was perfect.

  • Shéhérazade AJILI

I tried the pepperoni pizza and it was DELICIOUS! Usually, I don't trust google reviews because I had really bad experience. But for the first time, I'm glad I trusted them! It's not only the pizza, the waitress was really nice too. It was so delicious that I decided to write a google review ;-)

My favorite place in Woodley Park. If I’m coming for coffee, it is always quick and delicious. If I go for dining, the outdoor seating is pleasant and the dishes are incredible. In both settings, the staff are so friendly and attentive. I’ll have to try the pizza and wine for $25 special next!

While I can’t speak to the food or sit down experience, do not come here for a coffee to go. They take forever, are clearly understaffed, and have a pretty chaotic system for knowing when your drink is ready. The latte I got wasn’t even that good either.
