My spouse had recently purchased our first dog (11/25/23). Staff was nice, Answered questions, and my spouse stated that he even got a small discount on the puppy for Black Friday and being a veteran in the military. Puppy was adorable, However, upon first meeting (11/20/23) at the store noticed puppy had kept sneezing, goopy eyes, scabbed over cut on head and had runny nose , but I was told puppy was healthy by staff, I wish I knew better then to assume I was being told correctly and listen to my instincts. Was told we would be provided a 30 day free AKC insurance for the dog which we weren’t. Price was a large markup from other breeders that have registered puppies. Said puppy was AKC registered, it is not, it was ACA registered and we still haven’t been provided Any documentation. Puppy was sick from day one of bringing home. Took to their required vet within five days of purchase (11/27/23), had to go back (12/07/23) because puppy was still sick after first doses of medication and needed to do a second course, they also precautionary did bloodwork (thankfully came back good) and an x-ray (showed congestion) On the second visit. He was diagnosed with severe ear infection, and kennel cough (11/27/23) and still had those diagnosed but now with congestion/upper respiratory infection (12/07/23). Called (12/08/23) their warranty claims department, the vet even emailed their warranty claims department asking if it was a covered issue since it was within 14 days of purchase. Never heard anything back. Our puppy still has a serious cough. Vet tech (11/27/23) basically said that there are so many puppies there that It’s hard to properly check them all out in the amount of time provided to them, and it’s very common lately that the puppies have been coming back sick to the veterinary clinic, that the food that they’re “providing” To them and trying to get you to purchase is low quality and all they do is add a bunch of toppers to it to make the dog eat it, they also told me at Petland that my dog had all vaccines, was confirmed was not true by vet, and there was still Vaccines Required. Very disappointed in the company for allowing their dogs to go home with a “health certificate“ when they are sick and not well taken care of, these are companions, new family members, a large investment, and you can’t even care for them when they’re in your facility? This is despicable and disgusting of a company, that claims to reputable, for the cost that each of these puppies are up charged, you should be putting it back into them and the surrounding animals in the community and in your facility. My husband and I purchased 2 puppies from this location a few months ago. The process for purchasing them was good, no complaints there. The manager (I can't remember his name) was very kind and showed me all of the good things he recommended for puppies. Fast forward a few days, I take the puppies to their recommended vet thing for the coverage. Not the best of vets in my opinion. Thankfully we had already planned to take them to our vet we used with a previous pet we had. So I noticed my Yorkie had a strange cough/gag thing going on. I was told by a friend maybe it was a reverse sneeze so I didn't think anymore of it. Then, she started having bloody stools. Rushed her to our vet and guess what, she has giardia, 2 different types of worms, and an upper respiratory infection!!! :( I also had to get our 2nd puppy checked out since they have been kenneled together since we brought them home. She is now battling giardia too!! I purchased a very pricey recommended puppy food from the store but had to trash the whole bag because they needed a very specific digestive safe diet. They didn't even get to try the other bag from the store before it was trashed. So I went to the store, was given the contact info for the coverage department. I emailed and provided all of the above details....crickets!!! This is insane. I get that things happen when you purchase from a store but damn, 2 worms, a gut infection, and a respiratory infection warranting an emergency vet visit was not in our plans!!! Shame on you Petland. I gave you ample time to respond to my email before submitting this post because I understand, things are chaotic nowadays. But it's been long enough....

We were told our $7000 golden retriever puppy (whom we love dearly) came with AKC papers, and that we would get them sent to us through mail. We have never received those papers, and it has been nine months since we bought our puppy. I have tried to reach out to the company to get this issue resolved, and I am always met with “I will get someone to call you back”, to which nobody ever has. The one time I did get ahold of a manager, he told me he would have to talk to the store manager and get back with me. That was 2 months ago and I still haven’t heard a word. I had found the phone number to the corporate manager of that business, and even she hasn’t gotten back with me. We literally just want papers - it is not that hard. Please stay far away from this business. They’re money hungry people that don’t care about their customers. Edit: Ironically after posting this review, the store manager suddenly reached out and sent us our paperwork, which was not AKC papers. We were told at the time by their manager (whom they fired due to misinformation given to customers) that he was AKC. We would not have bought a $7000 dog if he wasn’t akc registered.. After all of this, the owner of the store reached out to us. They were extremely rude, didn’t help us one bit and a total waste of our time. Our view on this place still stands. I highly advise you to take your business elsewhere.

Do yourself a massive favor and avoid this place. My wife and I drove 2 hours out of town to come look at buying a dog. Upon walking in we asked to look at one dog in particular that my wife had her eye on. The sales person said the dog was on hold. Once we got to the dog we saw no hold sign. I walked over and explained that we are interested in the dog and would like to see her. The sales person said ok let me go get someone for you. We then stood in front of this dog for 20 min and were ignored while they helped others. I got the sales person's attention again and explained that we wanted to see one dog. He asked if we had planned on buying the dog today as that would be the only way we can see it. How would I want to know if I want to spend almost 6 thousand dollars on an animal if I can't interact with it. At this point I was irate. I asked for the manager who I explained this to he told me the dog has been out many times today and they wanted to give him a break and only serious inquiries would be entertained. At this point I was so frustrated that I left, and will not be returning. If you want me to spend that kind of money on a dog I expect to be able to see the animal and how we interact with them. I don't expect to be ignored and belittled as if my money and time are not good enough for them. I will not be returning and I suggest you do the same.

Stay far far away from this establishment. They charge WAY too much for their puppies and try to convince you that it's "at a discount". I'm sorry, but charging $5000+ for a puppy is outrageous to me. And that's "at a discount". PLUS, they charge you MORE to finance it! What kind of company charges you MORE to finance it? You already don't have the $ up front to buy it, and the credit card ALSO CHARGES YOU 30% APR! This is a shady kind of business and the owners/mgmt really need to change their ways of how to sell their puppies. Just look at the terrible reviews below! Look on yelp and indeed where their ex-employees write on how all they care about is $ and not the dogs. When we got there we were reading their reviews and decided we weren't going to do business with this kind of company. I'm really still shocked that they charge so much AND charge even more to finance. Such a crazy concept to me!! And it's not like we didn't have the $. The whole bargaining thing felt shady to begin with. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT do business with these people. They really need to change their way of business ASAP or they will fail miserably. Seems they are already headed towards failure.

I came in and a group of teen-aged boys were standing at the counter. One promptly came over to help me and I explained I was there to buy some wet food for my dogs. I explained to one of the workers it was my old lady's last night before we had to put her down for her health. He was great. I heard the puppies yelping so I walked to look at them for a moment. I took out my phone to snap a picture and one boy yelled out "Pictures are $5." I felt awkward and put my phone away. i then walked up to the register and this same boy told me his credit card machine was down and he could only take cash. It was near closing time and I have worked retail so I knew that meant he ran his report early and wouldn't help me. I was so upset because I knew he was lying to my face and I just wanted to get my sweet girl one last treat. If the machine was down, why wasn't that addressed when I walked in? Or while you chirped me from across the store? Incredibly rude, you don't know what people are going through and you should be kinder to pet owners if you want to work in a pet store. For any customers looking to go here: Go to target next door for your pet needs if you want kind customer service.

I feel like this was very predatory. I came in just wanting to see the puppies. No intention on buying anything. I am a disabled veteran who was just wanting to see if this could be a possibly for me as an emotional support dog. I wasn’t interested in playing with them because I know how I get. I asked the young lady three times how much two dogs I was looking at. She got me in the room with the dog and of course now I’m attached. Then wanted to run my credit and then after that told me the price. I have blocks on my credit so I would have to approve it but anyways, I shouldn’t feel like that about buying a puppy. And then to lie about how much it was versus what I was approved for is also asinine. Also, to have inflated prices on a puppy and go down the street where it was 75% less is outrageous. To just do that simply because of the area is insane. I have warned others who I knew were interested in purchasing one for their mental health. I hope that this doesn’t receive a copy and paste blanketed response like the other reviews have.

I have to say ever since we got our dog Mayu we have been nothing but pleased. She is a cream Shiba Inu and while she wasn't on the cheap side, her temperment has been wonderful. She has not had any significant health problems and the breeder she came from clearly knew how to socialize Shibas at a young age. While we didn't care for the vet she went to (we are military and prefer to take her to a base vet) initially that offered the initial check up, they still did a good job and looked at her from head to toe. We made sure she met all the milestones she needed to meet and have been back in the store getting toys, treats, and a crate pad. The employees here are knowledgable and good at what they do. Yes, they do push a hard sell, but that is their job to sell these animals. For people like us that were not in a position to do a rescue dog (we have three rescue cats that have anxiety problems and needed a dog with a clean history) they did an excellent job helping us find a dog that worked for us. I cannot imagine my life without her.

OMG! This place is amazing!!!! Allie was great! If you go ask for Allie! She helped us find our perfect pup. We are in love with him. She was so kind and patient during the whole process. She gave us all of our options so we could pick the perfect pup for us. She is very knowledgeable and answered my billions of questions and if she didn’t know the answer, she went to go find it. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AMAZING! As soon as you walk in the door you were greeted with kind smiles and open arms. I wish I could remember the managers name because he was also very helpful. We ran into an issue with the application process and he stayed on the line with customer service until our problem was solved. They love these puppies as their own so seeing them go to a loving home makes them happy. And to top it all off, IT SMELLS AMAZING! You would never know there were puppies in there. They take such good care of them.

I think it's a great place to go to visit puppies, especially for kids. But they have a sales process that would make a 1960's Used Car Lot Owner proud! (note, I had to drag the price out of them, I must have asked 4 or 5x before I finally got an answer.) At the end of the day they're in the Business of selling puppies at Retail Prices. They buy from a wholesaler/breeder, have expenses to maintain the puppies care, employees to pay, building rent, electric ins etc etc. Then they have to make a markup They're staff are very nice, and they are well trained on how to enhance the value of the product they are selling....Puppies. You have a right to choose to, or not to choose to pay their prices. I actually started laughing when I was quoted $5900 for this frisky little guy, who BTW, is still there 3 weeks later!

Excellent service over the phone before I ever went into this business. Was able to find my perfect pet in Jacksonville, FL. ALL STAFF were kind, courteous and professional. Melissa, the Manager took care of my needs over the phone and our puppy purchase went very smoothly. This is the first time I have ever purchased a dog from PETLAND and I have no regrets. Best puppy ever!!! Update January 2021 Unfortunately I have contacted Petland of Jacksonville Florida twice since the purchase of our great little corgi. I wanted to purchase a second one but never did get a reply?? Thought that was very strange, possibly they are no longer in business?? I’m still in search of a male corgi and a caramel and white coloring.

We purchased our wonderful daughter (Alaskan malamute) from petland jax exactly 4 years ago and she has been our biggest blessing. Could not be more in love with her. Working with petland jax was great! They accommodated our wishes and went above and beyond. Only thing that was a negative from our personal experience was that the provided breeder information and documents of our girls breeder are interesting, the man listed is no where to be found online. Aside from that, our dog is so perfect for our family and we give petland all of the credit for our girl, Denver! Pics are from the day we purchased and her thriving, living her best life T

I purchased a dog from petland a few days ago and at first I will be honest I was SHOCKED at the price. But after doing my research on the breed and reaching out to multiple breeders throughout the country. The price was actually right in line - flight, transportation to and from airport, puppy cost etc or having the dog shipped to me. I had the dog checked and had a full blood panel work done just to be proactive and the dog is in perfect condition. Management was friendly, one of the staff members was a little aggressive and did say something that was false I must say but overall the experience was actually good surprisingly.

Run, don’t walk away. Stupid high prices. Not a single smart savvy person I know would be caught up in their scam. The staff will give you some canned speech about how they buy and what they do, but that isn’t anything a private Breeder wouldn’t do. They try to justify ripping people off. We have been fortunate in life but a dog at that price point is just a scam and we aren’t about to be scammed. We looked up a reputable breeder with the dog we wanted. Was $2400. Petlands price is $5500. Don’t be stupid—run, don’t walk away.

There's a lot that goes into the decision to bring a puppy into a home, and Petland did more than I could have ever expected to facilitate it for us. We brought home a beautiful lady dachshund and are absolutely in love with her. Melissa went above and beyond in our experience of selecting and bringing home a new addition to our family, and I couldn't be more grateful to her and the entire staff for our entire time there. I would and will highly recommend Petland for anyone looking to bring a fur baby into their forever home.

I purchased a puppy from Petland Jacksonville two weeks ago. My puppy vomited the first night upon getting out of the car. We assumed she was car sick. She since has been back and forth to vet today make the fifth time for vomiting, upper respiratory ( nose and eye discharge) infection, and possible parasites. I've spent over $ 1000 in vet bills. I submitted a claim but no response. You only get a fourteen day warranty. What happens if the illness carries over the 14 days? Extremely disappointed.

Do not trust this place. More expensive doesn’t mean better. These puppies are still from puppy mills. They still buy the puppy for 200-400 dollars and charge you 3-14 k. It’s outrageous and it’s wrong. The puppies “warranty” is not real. It covers nothing. There has been multiple cases of puppies being the wrong breed after dna tests. This place is a money machine. That is all. Again go to bff puppies in orange park. Or just google the breed you desire. You will find better and cheaper options.

Damn…. can’t even walk in without feeling like a used car salesman walking up to you. Walked right in asked 3 times if I needed anything, then walked up to 1st cage and was asked if I wanted to look at the dog then asked again after I turned around, moved to 2nd dog asked if I wanted to look at them, moved the 3rd asked if I wanted to look at them. Took a breath of air and was asked if I wanted to look at the same dog. If I wanted buy sure don’t want to now!

I was greeted as I walked in. Place had a heavy, foul smell. Asked if we could see French bull dog. First they said it was on hold. When I pointed out they had two of them for sale, they responded that because of their smooshed in face that they were very prone to infections and viruses. Very strange response. I had a Bulldog for years and had never noticed or heard of this issue before. 6 associates standing around… not one could muster have a nice day…

There is not a single responsible thing about this entire entity. The dogs are poorly bred, they have awful genetics, they are not health tested, they give you a "Designer Breed" which turns out to be a completely inaccurate breed description. There is nothing good or useful about this company. Purchasing dogs from here supports backyard breeding, puppy mills and irresponsibility. PLEASE look for a responsible breeder; not a store.

I had the best experience today. I did not purchase a dog here but I did come in to purchase treats for my pup. The manager, Rebecca, was so kind and generous during my visit. She helped me find exactly what I needed and we shared stories about our own pups. I am an anxious person so i tend to have trouble talking to people but she made me feel comfortable and the conversation just flowed. I will definitely be coming back soon.

My experience with Petland was phenomenal! Melissa the store manager and her team were outstanding!! She was very helpful and personable for my entire visit. Unfortunately I don't remember the other staff members names at the moment, but the Sales manager was also very knowledgeable and was able to answer each and every question I had. If you're looking for a new furry friend to join the family, Petland is the place to go!!

If I could give it zero stars I would, the dumbest decision I’ve ever made was buying a puppy from here but I’m so happy to have her. Imagine paying almost $4,000 for a puppy only to turn around and hospitalize her less than 48 hours after purchase because of her being so sick and then being forced to pay $2,100 in vet bills because of negligence from the puppy mill. They offered to reimburse $300

Went to this store to check out an adorable maltipoo that I wasn't ready to buy yet due to an upcoming trip but the handsome pup a day or two later was purchased and I wasn't surprised because he was perfect. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They answered all of my questions and seemed very engaged. Petland Jacksonville will be my first place to buy a puppy in the next few months.

Apparently the delete reviews. So again I will say DO NOT GO here. They do not care about anything other than money. It’s disgusting. Charging over 7,000 dollars for a puppy is criminal. 30 percent interest rates on “low monthly finance options” is criminal. Lying to customers to get puppies out the door is criminal. You won’t care because money has stolen your soul but it’s gross.

5 for customer service! Ok I walked in here just to look at merchandise, but the manager was at the desk and he was so welcoming! The staff were very friendly and I almost walked out with a dog even though I already have one and had no plans for another haha. I had to get out of there quick. As I was leaving, the manager was outside helping customers to their cars! Wow.

I had A great experience at petland My Husband an I went in looking for A puppy. That would grow with are Family and also one good with small kids and toddlers. MY Husband wanted to see the Pug I didn't. Really know much about pugs But He is the best Puppy I could ask for he is very protective of me and my Kids. Loves to play, Snores so Kong fits right in.

This scumbag organization will charge u 7000+ for a sick puppy and sent you to money hungry vet that they recommend and 90% dogs they sell either sick with cough or will get sick when u take them home. We walked in with no intentions on buying a puppy but then got to play with a Great Dane puppy who we fell in love with instantly. TJ and the whole staff were so helpful! Answered all our questions and gave great advice! Bitter sweet seeing the staff say their goodbyes to our new baby! This is our new favorite pet store!

Overall an excellent buying experience! Our French Bulldog came from a reputable breeder who I am in contact with regularly. Petland is knowledgeable and sells quality dogs. No doubt, they are pricier than other places but they do the research for you and offer great benefits to their customers. Highly recommend.

5/5 absolutely love this place! I was looking for female Australian Shepherds because I love the breed, I saw this beauty and drove 5 hours there and back to go get her. Totally worth it! They have the cutest puppies and their customer service is amazing!
