While enjoying brunch at Crepevine, I found myself in the mood for a cup of coffee to complement my meal. However, my wife suggested that we explore the coffee offerings at Phil's instead. Intrigued by her recommendation, I ventured into Phil's Coffee for the first time. As I entered, I was pleasantly surprised to see a bustling coffee shop filled with over 30 people. It felt like a place worth exploring, and I decided to try two of their coffee offerings. The first was the Philtered Soul, a coffee that I found particularly appealing because it wasn't overly sweet. I appreciate a coffee that retains its rich coffee flavor without excessive sweetness, and the Philtered Soul delivered on that front. The second drink I sampled was the Iced Coffee Rose, which, while good, leaned slightly towards sweetness. However, I've always believed that a coffee should maintain its true coffee essence, and I wouldn't classify it as such if it's overly sweet. In summary, my experience at Phil's Coffee was quite enjoyable. The Philtered Soul, in particular, left a lasting impression with its amazing flavor profile, while the Iced Coffee Rose was a good choice, even if it was slightly sweeter than my preference. It's definitely a coffee shop worth visiting if you appreciate coffee that's true to its essence.

Oh boy, let me tell you about Philz. I had heard so much hype about this place, I was practically bouncing off the walls with excitement. But you know what? It didn't quite live up to the hype. Don't get me wrong, the coffee was good, but it wasn't "stop everything and go out of my way" good. It was more like, "if I happen to be in the neighborhood, I might drop in" good. Now, let's talk about the atmosphere. I walked in and it was like I had entered a silent movie. Seriously, not a single person spoke more than four words to me. It was like I had stumbled into a secret society of coffee drinkers who had taken a vow of silence. I mean, come on, a little friendly banter wouldn't hurt, right? And let's not even get started on the Breakfast Burrito. Meh, that's the best word to describe it. It was just... meh. Nothing to write home about. I was expecting a flavor explosion in my mouth, but instead, I got a lukewarm, mediocre burrito that left me feeling underwhelmed. All in all, Philz was a bit of a letdown. Sure, the coffee was decent, but the lack of interaction and the underwhelming breakfast option left me feeling like I had missed out on something truly special. Maybe I just had too high expectations, but hey, that's what happens when you buy into the hype.

Me and a friend stopped by for some coffee and we were excited because Philz has some really tasty specialty drinks and I had a good experience at the Cupertino location. We came in and it wasn’t busy at all, so there was no line to wait in. We ordered and the person who took are order was friendly. We sat down and waited 15 minutes eating our croissants and the wait felt a bit long so we went to check for our drinks. As my friend approached the counter, the worker said, “On yeah your drinks have been ready for a while” My friend then asked why they didn’t call us over. We tasted the drinks and they weren’t as good, which could’ve been because they had been sitting out- the worker even suggested this as well. We asked for more cream and it helped but still felt like it was lacking something. I dont think they called us over because my friend has a unique name, but regardless i don’t think that’s an excuse to not give us good service or let us know. They could’ve just said excuse me or called the names of the drinks out. I do wonder if this is the experience of other people with ethnic names and it makes me question if the quality of service given depends on who the person is. I was not impressed with the drinks and the service was disappointing. I won’t be coming back to this location.

My daughter got an herbal tea with honey, which was great. I ordered a latte. I didn't know that they don't make lattes. Nothing was said when I placed my order. The coffee is a pour over. Had I known, I would have ordered tea. I feel that a pour over doesn't capture the true flavor of coffee. It looked like dirty water. I had cream in it, which I wanted, but not 2 tablespoons of sugar. Again, I wasn't told there would be sugar. They made another one for me without the sugar and with regular milk. Again, not good. Music was too loud. Had to almost yell to have a conversation. Super disappointed and will not be back.

A great place to get a cup of amazing selections of coffee. The staff is friendly and cheerful, and the coffee is delicious. My favorite is the iced mint mojito coffee. It's refreshing and flavorful, and it pairs perfectly with the blueberry muffin. The coffee shop has indoor and outdoor seating, so you can enjoy your coffee in the comfort of the air conditioning or the fresh air.

Awesome place! Loved the ambience, their staff is welcoming & friendly. The coffee was rich and the prices are great. They have cool collection of starter bakery items, tried their double baked almond croissant and it was amazing. They don’t charge you extra for non dairy milk request to go with your coffee which is great, I would surely come again.

I have had Philz coffee at 3 previous locations and the pour-overs were always excellent. However, my first experience at this Philz in Willow Glen was disappointing because the coffee was about 2/3 the strength of the pour-overs I have gotten at other locations. I should have taken it back, but didn't. For the price of the coffee, they should make sure that all of their baristas do pour-overs with a consistent amount of coffee. I felt kind of short-changed.

This place was very nice. Quiet environment perfect to sit and relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. The Ancho Chili Burrito was *chefs kiss*. The perfect flavor and spicy! But, the kind of spicy that’s worth it, if you know what I mean. Very fresh, too. I would definitely order it again. The coffee menu was limited do to supply but the dark roast was very flavorful.

In A Nutshell: -Philz Coffee is my favorite coffee in the world. -They finally opened up their highly anticipated location in downtown Willow Glen. -I like the bits of yellow they used & the sleek look as you walk inside the narrow building. -There is a small seating area in both the front & back of the store. -As usual you can either walk-in to order or order ahead. Overall, this is a great location for the newest Philz.

It’s Halloween night and my wife and I were trying to find a cup of coffee to walk with as our children went trick or treating. I walked and Max was working all alone and was handling it. He was welcoming and made our philtered soul delicious. Thank you Max 5 stars

It’s a nice newer Philz — but the ordering process here is completely chaos. They don’t have a line well defined — it’s just a crowd of people. We ended up giving up on the line and used the app instead. Then the app told us our drinks were ready when they didn’t start them yet. Also, the name on the app was wrong and we had to ask around to see who was making them.

It's a question of taste but honestly their coffee is pretty awful and expensive. I took two sips and tossed it. The breakfast burrito was actually pretty good, but if this is a coffee place, then i can't rate it higher. Service was fine, the place is nice. I just wish I could drink their "brew". Very popular with the younger generation. My teenager girls love it.

The coffee is always delicious and the employees are always very nice. But you need to advocate for yourself if you want a full cup of coffee. Ask for light ice and only one mint leaf or none because consistently the iced coffee is half full of ice, a quarter of mint leaves, and a quarter of coffee.

Like other locations, staff is friendly and welcoming and the coffee is fantastic. The bakery selection is good too, and given that the space isn't huge, they set it up well to not feel crowded while still allowing for a dozen seats inside and a few tables outside. Really great addition to Willow Glen downtown.

I tried this place for the 1st time on 2 19 22, They have great coffee great banana bread but the wait is a turn off. Gave them a try 2 more times ,the wait was even longer. I like their coffee I like their bake goods but I'm not so sure if it's worth the time I have to wait for them.

Unfortunately, there were very few coffee choices, as the company is experiencing supply chain problems. Luckily, our second choice coffee was excellent!

First time here and I enjoyed it. I ordered their plant based sandwich and iced Lucas unplugged with oat milk. The sandwich was perfect and the coffee was so tasty. The cashier was very friendly and welcoming. She helped me get an idea of what the menu options were.

2 stars for the barista I’ve been seeing all over the place lol (he’s a good dude) … however I go to Philz to indulge on a sweet and creamy not a coffee that’s a little sweet and tastes like strong coffee. I asked for it sweet and creamy but no cream. What gives?

Had the ancho chili burrito, which was pretty good! I’m not a coffee drinker, so not sure about that, but overall good experience. The town it sits in is also really nice.

I want to say five stars, but for some reason the Philharmonic here just doesn’t taste the same as other locations. Less punchy and less flavor. Great addition to downtown Willow Glen, and ample room and seating inside for a normal Philz.
