A vibe. This place is more of a good vibe than a book store. The smell of books, incense, papers, old paintings, imagine being in a film and the place is exactly that. You can find books, truncates, art supplies, board games, vintage perfume bottles, beautiful stones boxes, gift cards, posts, and so so much. Not just just a book store you can even indulge in old paintings decorating their walls, the lovely smell of incense, and just holding some of their perfume boxes. Anyone can spend hours and hours searching and finding stuff, books, and small truncates to admire and still be able to find more and more. From modern art supplies to old historic books, like time just stopped and made its collections here. Not just the place but even the people and staff are so friendly and humble, you can even meet new people from an entirely different part of the world. You don't just find materials but friends too if you search.

Three floors - great variety (reminds me of some of the biggest bookstores in NY and BJ). Helpful staff. The book from the Vintage series though was one of the most blurrily printed books I’ve bought, uncomfortable to read, and even has small random marks that make it look like a photocopy (see pic). Doubted if it was an official edition (but given that it’s unlikely someone would make a fake copy of this unpopular writer…)… Most books were protected with a plastics cover, no sample available, so it was not possible to tell the quality of the pages inside, although I did not ask if I was allowed to open the package.

This is a popular book store smack in the middle of Thamel. There are three floors worth of books ranging from books on religion to mountaineering. There are also Nepali handicrafts, soaps, incense sticks, cosmetics, postcards, paintings etc that are on sale. If you have an hour or two and want to window shop, this would be the ideal place. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a big collection of Tinkle magazines, an Indian magazine that was very popular and representative of my childhood. Highly recommend this place.

Fabulous bookstore ! An absolute treasure trove of books of every genre but particularly those relating to the mountains/Tibet/Nepal as well as Buddhism and Hinduism. Prices are way lower compared to buying books printed in the US/UK. I bought a coffee table book on Tibetan motifs and a hardcover book set of English classics and saved a fortune I would have otherwise spent at home. They have a lovely selection of souvenirs too. A must visit if you’re in Kathmandu.

I've visited a LOT of bookstores in KTM and I think this might be the largest one with the best selection for English anyway. Heaps on spirituality, Nepal, self-development, etc. The staff are helpful and friendly. If you can't find a book, ask them to help you out! There's a second and third level too so don't miss out on those! They also have a bunch of random stuff, stationary, crystals, and so on Prices for the books are very reasonable as well! =)

5 star. When digital e books are ruling the world, places like pilgrims are just rare find or must i say heritage materials. From fiction to non fiction booms this place offers a readers paradise. When ever I m in Nepal, I visit this place and always find few rare books. Also when u look at the prices, its way reasonable than US Nd Europe. The only caution is please do check the quality of the print before buying. U get what u pay for.

The choice of books here is absolutely astounding! You can find almost all the best sellers and rare gems in their collection. You can be lost in the bookshelves for hours. I absolutely loved roaming around the store. All the books are categorized properly, you can query at the desk too for what you're looking for. Staffs are friendly.

Use to be a great book store many years ago but became to commercialized unfortunately. I loved going here to find new books when I visited Nepal but it has to many gifts, products and other merchandise that is not really relevant in my opinion. Still a nice place to explore and buy a variety of merchandise.

Though I am not a book lover, it could be a paradise for a book lover. The place looks small from outside, but from the inside this is big and visitors could spend several hours looking for books. The prices of stationeries could be on a higher side.

They have a huge collection of books, make sure to visit the two upper floors as well! The books are still in their plastics however, which makes it difficult to see if it’s a good fit for you (you cannot open them).

Гарний великий книжковий. "Все в одному", тут один з найбільших асортиментів книжок і карт. Ціни як на що. На карти в середньому нормальні. Книжки на мою думку дещо дорожче. Єдиний мінус, не дуже хочуть торгуватися.

  • Marcello
