Stay away from the Ottawa company known as Plumbing Now AKA Butler plumbing unless you have deep pockets and don't care how you spend your hard earned cash. Their work could be satisfactory but they are in my opinion "Opportunistic Parts Changers " In my case they insisted on doing work that was not necessary by replacing everything leading to the part that needed replacing. The plumber they sent to my house was supposed to do a preliminary assessment and provide me with an estimate. The estimate, for what I considered to be at best a $1200.00 job was quoted at $2660.00 ....excluding tax. I told the plumber that it was outrages and to leave my premises. He presented me with a bill for $314.14 for some 30 minutes onsite......I asked about the $79 dollars that their despatcher had indicated would be charged for the assessment and was informed that those charges were strictly for driving to my house and that I would have to pay $200 more for the time he spent at my house at the rate of $200 per hour or any part of......stating that he took a two week course on well pumps and was considered a specialist therefore justifying the $200 per hour......After he left, I called C&N Plumbing and Electrical in Manotick and had the job completed expertly in less than two hours for $1050.00... including tax......That is a difference of $2000.00? So don't get ripped off stay away from this company at all costs.

This review is purely from a customer service perspective at this time. I needed to obtain a few quotes for several backwater valves that needed to be installed in my basement. I called in on an Easter holiday weekend and was able to reach Dot on the first call. Further, she was able to arrange an appointment within 72 hours with the friendly and knowledgeable plumber Denis. Dot was very friendly and professional on the phone and by email. In contrast, most of the plumbers I called or emailed either did not respond, provided a hefty price tag without seeing the job ($3000 in one case!), or could not setup a meeting in a reasonable time frame (2 weeks+). Denis arrived on time and was prepared to investigate the work site. He provided some insight such as needing the baseboard heater and drywall removed temporarily due to space constraints. His demeanor was pleasant and he was receptive to any questions I had which is more than what I can say for many 'pro' plumbers that I have communicated with in the process of obtaining quotes. I would certainly consider Plumbing Now for this job and future plumbing work.

We had a very bad experience with plumbing now. About a month ago we had water back up in the basement. I called them and spoke with Denis, who sent me Josh for the next day. Josh came without tools, it took him 40 minutes to go back to the office and to bring a "snake". After he did some work,  charged me 571 CAD and left. It seemed like everything was solved and no water in the basement. But in 10 days the same problem happened again, water in a basement. Called Denis again, he sent Josh again, who came with "snake" this time and did the SAME action again, but in another 10 days the water backed up in the basement again. Since then I called Denis twice, he told me he will call back, but I am still waiting. The problem still exists, we paid almost 600 Cad and no one is about to call back. And Yes, they don't give any warranty on their work.

I had a blocked main drain and with 5 people in the house I needed this fixed as soon as possible. I called around to a few local companies and could not get anyone to come out for a while, the excuses varied but the results were the same. I found this company and decided to give them a call. The phone was answered by Very Polite and knowledgeable staff who understood my dilemma and said they would send someone out right away . 40 minutes later there was a very Polite and well dressed man at me door who looked at the problem, gave me a price up front to fix it and In no time we were back up and running, he cleaned up after himself and even wore boot covers to protect my floors. I would recommend this company to anyone and I for one will be using them again. Great Service and Great Price.

We had Plumbing Now as the contractor for our basement finishing. The project started with an unfinished basement, and Plumbing Now installed the piping and fixtures including a shower spa with linear drainn, toilet and sink.. We were particularly concerned about the noise from the sump pit, and Dennis was able to recommend a silent check valve, which has been working really well. Dennis and his team were professional, helpful, and accommodating of an extremely delayed schedule by our general contractor. We had one small problems with plumbing on the project not which was caused by Plumbing Now (other contractor damaged plumbing), but they helpfully came the next day to fix the problem. We will definitely be calling this firm again he next time we need plumbing work done.

I needed to have a new shower installed for my clawfoot bath. They were knowledgeable in what needed to be installed and the plumber informed me of the work being done while he was here. They were very respectful of the COVID situation - and the shower was installed in no time at all. The plumber was also kind enough to take a look at my bathroom sink faucet while he was there. It was a quick fix and I really appreciated that he was the one who had offered to take a look at it. I didn't even have to ask. I also appreciated that they called later in the day to ask me if everything was to my satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this company.

So glad that I called Plumbing Now to fix our malfunctioning, outdated ensuite toilet…I was able to schedule their visit (busy wedding preparations made time at a premium!) and they were prompt, efficient and extremely helpful. All our options were carefully explained and for a very reasonable (and competitive) price our broken toilet was removed and a new toilet installed that same morning! The gentleman who came was extremely friendly and even left treats for our puppies and cats!! Replied in time. Had me sign a contract agreeing to terms of engagement and full price to be charged. The service was.delivered satisfactorily however there were 2 factors which left me dissatisfied. 1 - technician tried to charge me for more time but there was never an agreement that the estimate was time based. When I suggested that I would pay the amount charged and that I.would discuss additional fees he backed off and stuck to original fee schedule. 2. Technician too no care to protect my home from toxic sewage water and walk from basement to front door with soiled boots leaving sewage water on my stairs and floors.

Today, Larry from Plumbing Now examined my well system to determine the cause of sudden brief changes in the water flow rate. He tested all the hardware and its operation. He quickly determined the pressure tank was not to blame. Instead, a small obstruction must be affecting the operation of the pump switch that was installed about 2 months ago. The switch was removed, the obstruction was cleared and everything now works great again. Larry is an expert plumber with over 30 years of experience. He answered all my questions clearly and in as much detail as I asked for. Plumbing Now is highly recommended!

5 stars for Lary but 3 for cost. Expensive C$79.00 (visit: honestly information known when booking. I could say no, so it is on me.) + C$99 for unclog the tub drain. A not even 10 minutes job. No special tools required other than a simple screw driver. In the end the tec solved the issue. This is what matters, right?! I may use them again, but only having an idea of the service cost when booking - kind of a range - something like $90 to 200 for instance. Regarding simple services a rage can be provided.

Plumbing now has saved my bacon a few times now.. I drove a heli pile right through my water line a few years back (Disaster), Denis scrambled the guys together to make things right again faster than I ever expected which was great! Last year an old sump pump failed me, and again, I was up and running before any damage could occur. They were by again recently for some minor stuff, I just thought at this point they deserved a good review having gone over and above twice for me now. Recommend them 100%!!

We had an emergency drain block in our basement, first the toilet and following a quick plunge the shower and floor drain started backing up too. Knew we had to get professionals in. Looked around on google and called a few places. Plumbing Now was responsive and sent Josh to do an assessment and repairs. He got here quickly, was polite and solved the problem. No more blockage! We are on a septic system and discovered our pump was broken. After a very informative and helpful phone call with someone at their office I was assured my problem could wait a few days. Monday morning bright and early, Matt shows up and replaces the pump and restores everything to perfect working order!
