This old house needed some electrical care. I called around for quotes; a few companies told me they didn't do quotes, but David at Powertec came to my home and listened to my electrical woes. That was on a Thursday. On Monday morning at 8 am Jessica arrived from Powertec. She did everything that was needed to make this house run properly. Previous "electricians" had wired dishwasher and fridge together, upstairs hall plug only worked with all hallway lights on, plugs loose in the wall. She discovered that the whole house had been re-wired - but they 'forgot' to do the porch. Everything Jessica needed she had in the van. Jessica installed a new ground plug for me in the porch. She made every light work. Every plug works. First she had to trace the control panel. I stayed out of her way and beaded while she was all over the house fixing things. I felt so comfortable having Jessica in my home. It didn't even feel like a stranger was there, but rather a friend. If I ever need an electrician again I'm calling POWERTEC first, and asking for Jessica. I'm going to tell all my friends and family about this wonderful experience. It feels so good to have an electrically safe house. :)

I originally had Eric out for an estimate and he was the only company that went and checked my basement. Other 3 didn't bother and said it wasn't necessary. Well it was because Eric found a live wire just laying on my furnace ducts! He fixed it right there for me as it was a fire hazard. When booked, Stephen and Dan showed up right on time and were very professional and helpful. They even cleaned everything when they were done! The cost was very fair considering another company told me since it was a small job he was charging me double because he had bills to pay as well! What nerve. And it was a well know company as well so beware. All in all I have already told friends about the service I received and will definitely be having Powertec as my number 1 go to for any future work! Thanks guys your awesome!

Daniel was recommended to me by a friend. I needed an electrician to replace the knob & tube in my home quickly so that could obtain house insurance. He provided a competitive quote and did the work quickly and in the timeframe he had estimated. I was surprised at how he was able to keep the damage down considering the number of lines he had to replace. As well, he discovered some aluminum wiring that he quickly replaced during the job. We were very pleased with Daniel's work and have had him back since that first big job to set up the electrical for a new cooktop. I am now making a list of other small jobs that I'll be calling him about next. Daniel is professional and conscientious and I've recommended him to several friends.

EDIT: Unfortunately I have to update my review. I had to upgrade my K&T for insurance purposes, but the business didn’t pull permits until months after when I contacted them (I had searched my address on the city’s permit site and noticed nothing was showing for the electrical work they did). After contacting them they sent someone out and got it done. Additionally, one of the 2 young guys who did the work left my backdoor literally open after the first day of work (I got home, came in through front, and saw the back door wasn’t just unlocked but physically left OPEN). Not too impressed in the end with everything.

I was really impressed at how fast they were able to come out, had called for an installation of a smart thermostat that I thought needed a C wire to be added. Was quoted about $150.00 for the job. When the electrician came it turned out I did not need the wire and he was able to do the install in about 15 min with the existing wires. A week later I received a bill for $250.00 way over the estimate and the job was easier then expected. Followed up with the owner today and was glad to resolve a miscommunication about the rates, very happy with the resolution and looking forward to using Powertec again

Highly recommend Powertec for your next electrical project. Projects big or small if you need it done correctly and quickly, give them a call. Very impressed with this company. We have had great communication for inquiries to bookings to the services itself. Our electrician was punctual, friendly and professional. The one thing that did strike me as odd is not having Manitoba Hydro come out to inspect the work, but I’m not sure the logistics of how this works. I could be wrong. I trust the service was done correctly as we haven’t had any concerns and are very happy with the outcome. Thank you very much Powertec for a job well done! :)

I called Powertec Electric Inc. for a quote on upgrading my service panel to a 100AMP system. The owner, Daniel Lacovetsky, was very professional, friendly, and happily answered any questions we had, and provided fair prices and did a thorough review of the work needed. We ended up choosing a different contractor based on very superficial reasons (my wife wanted the "older" electrician for "experience") and I personally think Powertec is a great option for your electrical services.

I called today to get a defective ballast fixed in one of my basement rec room fluorescent fixtures. Will came right on time and stayed until everything was working properly. He replaced the two old bulbs with two new ones that I supplied and gladly took the old ones away. And the price was a real surprise and very reasonable. This is my first time calling this company but if I need electrical work done again I will certainly be calling them again. Again, thanks for a great job.

I called 2 other companies that told me they couldn’t come for 2 weeks to look at my electrical issue. I called Powertec was immediately put through to a knowledgeable person (David) who asked me a few key questions and asked if I could send a few pictures via text. David was at my home an hour later to fix the problem. Also, the final bill was half of what the other companies quoted just to show up. Amazing!!! I would highly recommend this company.

I use Powertec Electric for all my condo buildings. I have used them for everything from changing a light bulb in a parking lot to rewiring seven buildings and they did both with equal care and attention to detail. Their prices are more than fair. They were very competitive on price, showed up when they said they would, were courteous and professional, and tidied up after themselves at the end of the day. Excellent work, good pricing, punctual and firm quote. They replaced all of our knob and tube and upgraded our panel to 200 AMP. We were 100% pleased with their work. They made small clean holes and always cleaned up after themselves. This is a project that we had put off for 17 years and we feel that Powertec was the right people to do the job. Powertec Electric did a great job replacing the knob and tube wiring at my home. I was concerned that my plaster walls would be damaged in the process but was happy to see that Powertec did their work with minimal damage. Powertec also installed a new wall panel and some new baseboard heaters at the same home. I'd recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.

The estimator and the technician sent to work on the many odd jobs I had at my house were both excellent to deal and work with. They spent a whole day doing several odd jobs, kept the number of holes to fish wires to an absolute minimum and even happily did an unexpected job on the spot at my request.
