I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Sam from Southcan Electric. To give you a little back story, I'm a solar panel technician, I specialize on the installation side of solar arrays for residential homes. The electrical side of things our company always had a journeyman electrician on hand to do tie-ins etc. Anyways, during a comoany move to Saskatchewan I was left here in MB with no journeyman so I had to hire a new electrician to close up a few jobs here in MB. A friend recommended going with Southcan Electric for the job, and I'm very glad that I did! Sam came prepared, he knew all of the proper procedures and codes related to solar, and was a overall just great to work with! We did two different tie-overs (at the panel) and they both passed inspection with absolutley zero issues. We have had problems in the past with new electricians not knowing how solar works, but Sam was familiar with everything and it blew me away. Made my life so much easier! Would highly highly recommend going with Southcan for whatever electrical needs you may have. I found that they are a very professional company, they take pride in their work, and they will do the job right.

My wife and I have recently purchased a house and needed some aluminum wiring looked at for insurance purposes. I called a bunch of companies in winnipeg and most didn't even answer the phone and if they did the couldn't come out to my house on weekends or just gave me a flat rate for work without even looking at my house first. Southcan Electric returned my phone call, answered my million questions, set up an appointment for a Saturday (no one else would), and was just super friendly and helpful. Sam came out on the Saturday exactly when he said he would and spent way to much time answering all my questions which was great! He had everything all figured out and quoted in no time. He even printed off the specific forms my insurance company needed to be filled out. The form was filled out and sent to me within 24 hours. I can't say enough good things about Sam and the company. Completely blown away. Contacted for an electrical inspection, received quick informative reply. Pricing was considerably below competitors quotes. Sam was unbelievable to deal with. Sent a text to confirm morning of, showed up right on time. He even printed off and had a copy of my insurance companies report form handy and ready to go. Right away I knew I was in good hands as he showed and explained everything to me so I could understand and follow along. It was evident he cares about his business and customers right away, and I seriously cannot say enough good things. It was a completely positive experience. Sam and his team did a great job with the upgrades I was seeking. I got an EV charger installed in my garage, wiring laid for a garage heater, a 200amp panel upgrade, and an outdoor outlet installed. When I first reached out, Sam was very responsive and was able to meet to do an estimate at a time convenient for my schedule. He explained in detail the various options for the work I was seeking and answered my questions. I didn't feel pressured to pick the most expensive option. Sam also explained the pros and cons for each panel option and predicted how each would impact further upgrades down the road (plans to install a wired garage heater). Sam and Justin were very communicative and would update me when work was planned for and access times needed. They were available via text message to make arrangements which was convenient. They also followed up after the work was done to make sure I was satisfied with everything. I would highly recommend Southcan electric!

We were looking to finish our basement and needed quite a bit of electrical work done including outlets, switches, lights, HRV wiring and Ethernet. Recently purchased a house and it needed aluminum wiring updated to code. The owner Sam respond quickly to our request, we were looking to have a couple pot lights put in where we were planning to put in a new bar. Wiring needed to be run to the location and they were able to minimize any holes and completed the work quickly. The plug in our bathroom hadn't been working for six months easily and my partner was going to try and fix it himself but didn't have any idea what he was doing. Southcan to the rescue! They replaced not only the broken plug in the bathroom, but helped me with a lightswitch that was wired upside down too. These guys are awesome, fair pricing and just a pleasure to deal with.
