I rented a unit from Store ‘Em in July of 2015. I was asked if i would like to keep a key at the front desk in case I was to lose mine. I chose that option. In September of 2015 I returned to the unit and added more belongings, which at this point the unit seemed untouched. On October 31, 2015, I returned to the unit with 3 friends to empty the unit. One friend, which had been with me in September to add some of her belongings. When we opened the unit the lock was not tampered with; however all my stuff was thrown about, boxes ripped open, several priceless items broken, and many many more missing. All of my friends things were gone, my snowboard and boots, expensive paintings, all my camping gear, and much much more....but the VERY worst was that all of mine and my children's photos were stolen of them growing up! I called the police right away and took photos of everything. They came after 4 hours and i filed a report. The lady at the front desk seemed very nervous and unwilling to cooperate with myself or the police. The officers also felt that this had to be an inside job because of the key at the front desk and the way there were being treated. The police did an investigation, at which point the manager blamed it on a current tenant. When the tenant was searched and investigated, the police had no suspicion or evidence on him. The manager stated there were no cameras and there was nothing else they would do. The officer felt with all the time that had passed it would be really hard because my things were probably all thrown away or sold by then. When I tried to contact the manager at the business again, I was unsuccessful. I emailed her letting her know that they needed to at LEAST refund my rent from the unit during the 3 months I was there (only $180) or I would contact a lawyer or BBB.

Sindy is very sweet, personable and professional. She was very thorough in her explanation of the unit and everything else that I asked she was able to answer quickly and easily understandable terms. I spoke with Bob when I first arrived and he seems like a decent enough fellow. However, he said that he was just made the general manager there recently. I don't understand why they needed a new general manager when Sindy would have been perfect for the position. Not saying anything bad about Bob but he did try to charge me for the first months rent even though the giant sign on the side of the building clearly states the first month is free. I had to ask him why I was being charged for the first month when it clearly stated it should be free and he tried making up some excuse about not all units were free. He also tried charging me for insurance on the unit and when I told him I would get renters insurance to cover it he tried to tell me to stop and he could just take it off when I got it after I already paid for it, I believe. I don't know if that's what his intentions were but that is the way it seemed to me. Anyhow, I probably wouldn't have written a review on this Storage Center about that incident. I am only writing it because Sindy was such a great representative for their storage facility. Keep up the great work!

While not the brand new polished and highly secure facility that people are used to elsewhere, Stor'em makes up for that by being very personable and attentive to security and customers needs from a first hand approach. I needed very a very affordable no frills unit with no bulls#*t 2 week notice and fees deducted when I wanted to vacate, and I got tha. With no strings attached and no attitude. With that in mind I will use them again when needed. I guess if I could deduct half a star for no elevator or lift, I would. Just know that ahead of time and ask for a ground floor unit for a slightly higher monthly rate. Or maybe that's based on availability rather than price. Not sure. But the upstairs unit had two access doors so that definitely made up for it.

I have given the rate of 5 stars simply based off their customer service. I work for a distributor that owns a unit at this location, and I am easily there 4-5 times a week. While working here I have gotten the opportunity to know a very talented worker named Robert, who exceeds any and all levels of expectations for his job. He is a good-willed person who takes a genuine interest in his clients. He also understands how important it is to build a rapport his clients and to accommodate for their needs. Every time that I see Robert, wether it's a for a key, or simply just to say, his positive attitude shines through with a smile. This is a great business, and it all starts with their great customer service.

I cant even rate them with a star! They deserve nothing! We had our stuff stolen right out of our storage. The lock was never tampered with when we discovered this. And they our the only ones with the key! The employee working would not cooperate with the police when questioned. They took half of our belonging and tossed around the rest. Who breaks in with a key, takes a bunch of items and then locks the storage back up? While walking around the rest of the units, I noticed a couple locks broken. I saw only two cameras "conveniently" place no where near the doors of the units! Don't put anything in there you don't want stolen by people you pay to protect your belongings.

I have recently got my storage unit at Stor'em self storage. Darlene was very helpful and informative when I was there deciding to get a unit there or not. In the time since I have been very happy with my decision. Every time I go there to get stuff out or put more stuff into my unit Darlene has been friendly with a smile in her face. Very rude staff. Also didn't like how you can't go any time you want to get something from your unit--you have to wait for the office to be open and a worker there. Their hours are super short too and they take a lunch so it's a real inconvenience if you don't time it right. Huge disappointment and inconvenience these past year using them. I'd think twice before using these people. Shop around.

I came in inquiring about a unit for my brother in law that's attending SDSU. I was helped by, I believe her name was Darlene, she provided AMAZING customer service! She went above and beyond my expectations even though they didn't have anything available downstairs, she still took the time to answer all my questions. I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

So far so good..website is easy to navigate ..simple...The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the time facility closes...lol closing at 5pm I think is a bit to early but I will adjust to it..price is excellent and location couldn't be better.. especially for people that don't have a car perfect place to have a storage facility..

Picked this place based on a recommendation from a friend. Sarah helped me pick my new unit and got things squared away pretty quickly. Everyone here is very helpful, super friendly and easy to work with. The units also feel very secure. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid storage unit in SD.

There are some pros below, but the limited hours make this place extremely inconvenient. If their hours of operations aren't a problem for you, then this review would get a 4+ Pros: place is clean & secure. And with only a small amount of units, it is super easy to get around.

. Ocho don't know what to say about storm self-storage that pretty damn expensive for a Stihl storage place but you can store things there so that's a plus but I might be cheaper just to buy a storage place and put your stuff in it because they're expensive so check it out

Drake is extremely helpful and kind. Francis was also very nice. Seems like they do a great job at keeping riff raff out and the place clean. I needed last minute space for a trailer and a few items and the location is great, plus I feel safe storing it there.

It's a storage unit! What more could you ask for? They take care of you, and they give you back any money that you are owed if you leave early. Most places won't do that. That's awesome!
