I went to visit my storage unit today and forgot my passcode to the gate. I went inside to ask the manager for assistance. Dominic, the manager, asked for id, which I didn’t have so he said to come back when I had ID. As I walked out I remembered the code and went to try it. It worked! Dominic ran out of his office and said I had to leave the property or he was going to call the cops! Why?! I asked. He refused to let me on the property even though I didn’t need his assistance, had my pass code, and had the keys to my unit! Normally you don’t need ID to access your unit and as Dominic and I were talking, several other people walked on by, without the need to show id. I didn’t understand why Dominic was being so rude to me. Refusing to offer any assistance, telling me to leave, and threatening to call the cops. Not only was I polite, but I refrained form cursing at him, punching him, or otherwise causing damage the property. So I walked outside and I called the Public Storage toll free number and got a nice lady on the phone who had to call not only the property manager but also the district manager in order for Dominic to let me through. I can understand the need for ID if asking for account details. But refusing me to enter after his assistance was not needed, was insane. The only words out of his mouth was to leave the property or he was going to call the cops. While I was on the phone with Customer Service, Dominic ran inside his office, locked the door, and refused to answer the door. Thats not how you treat a customer. This was a horrible customer experience and Dominic could have done a lot better. I can see why this guy thinks he needs to lock and hide in his office. He leaves a lot to be desired. Not only am I disappointed with the customer service I received from Dominic, but Im concerned that this guy is the one I have entrusted to oversee my storage space. I have begun looking for alternative storage space and would advice others to seek storage someplace else.

Would rate negative stars if I could because this place IS HORRIBLE. I had booked a unit here and had called them 3 times to let them know that when I arrived for the first time, it would be with movers and a truck holding my one bedroom belongings. Michael and Sully (the manager of this branch, but not sure this is his name as the voicemails always sounded garbled) assured me this would be fine and asked for a time I would be there. I let them know I would be there at a specific time, but on the day I showed up at that time, no one was there. I pay the movers by the hour, so you can imagine how hopeless, stressed, and angry I was that no one was there when they said they would be. I looked to find any kind of email, phone number, left messages, and did anything I could to try and find a human being there at the facility, but nothing worked. After 45 min, I threw in the towel and called a different nearby storage facility (Security Storage) to reserve an unfortunately smaller and more expensive unit because this Public Storage had failed me. I ultimately ended up at the Public Storage on Van Ness where there were people actually working there. Al helped me out and sorted this whole mess for me, but I had to pay the movers an additional $150 for the hour that 190 10th street Public Storage made me burn trying to locate a human being. It's hard not to cuss this location out in this review, but all I can say is stay away from this place. Not reliable, not a safe location, and extremely unhelpful. I left a message that day on the 10th street message machine and STILL haven't heard back from either Michael or Sully. Bad service all around.

I give the property a three star, but the woman, who is the manager I think, I give 1 star. She's rude and mean and if you are there anywhere near closing god help you cause all she'll do is scream at you it's ten minutes to closing you have to leave now!!! It's happened to me, I was insulted by that employee and my hands were trembling from anger. I saw her yelling at two guys the other day I was getting ready to go threw the gate to drop something off and she was screaming at these poor guys to hurry up, she was causing them to rush and therefore drop stuff, if she wasn't harassing them consistently, they wouldn't have been rushing and dropping everything. She tried shutting the gate on them when going through. They had to dump their stuff on the street and give her the cart back and it was 10 minutes till closing, I didn't go in, I was afraid she'd beat me if I dared go into the building. Some people need to work behind the scenes and leave customer contact to people that actually like people! This lady is always rude and never in a good mood, I am moving my stuff to another facility next month because I don't want to ever see that employee again. I wish I knew her name but if you visit this public storage you will know who I'm talking about, she looks like a mean mole. A short brown haired woman, a little heavy and most likely a lesbian, which has nothing to do with it. Just trying to describe her.

HORRIBLE customer service. The guy who works here is absolutely horrible in terms of customer service. I am filing a report with the Better Business Bureau, Insisted he read the contract to me verbally to sign up. No other business requires a verbal read out of a contract. Then, when I finished - he made me walk all the way around three blocks in the dark alone as a woman, vs going through the 20 feet of the main front desk / office space to get outside - where my car was parked in front of the main office. This location is not in a safe part of town. He has no common sense. He took over 30 min to prepare the contract, and insisted he had to highlight with a marker specific sections - I told him I would just sign where he pointed, as he threatened to not let me empty the van into my unit because it takes 45 min to sign up, and the facility closed in 1 hr 45 min, and I "could not rush him." If my stuff wasn't already situated, I would move it to another facility. Incidentally, I've used many other public storage units in the past, and had no problems!

The facility isn't bad, but the customer service is HORRIBLE. I went at 7:30am (both the PS app and website said access hours were 6am) and found the big rolled door down, blocking access. Came back at hour later, same deal. Called multiple times, through out the morning. No answer, even after office hours. Finally called corporate to get someone to call me back from the location. I was told that access was limited to office hours because of a door issue, and there was a sign in the window explaining this. Doesn't do me a whole lot of good after driving 20 minutes to get there. No one bothered to change either their website OR their phone message with this immensely important information. In the meantime, I had to cancel a photoshoot (because of course my backdrops are in the storage unit) and look completely unprofessional. I'm so angry, and then person who called made it sound like I was the idiot. I have been in customer service my whole life and it takes a lot to get me going. Congrats, Public Storage. Today takes the cake.

Public Storage on 10th St. in San Francisco has effectively and essentially meet me at the place of everyone of my needs every time one arose. The facility managers Marcus and Mike you’re always kind and gracious. They are always thorough and efficient in their duties and customer service. They are aware that life has challenges And when met with a dilemma, they work together with you with the goal of protecting you must precious and valuable possessions. Property stored with public Storage is accessible and readily available to access with convenient building hour in an extra layer of security provided do the use of access codes for not just the entrance gate with the elevator as well. Public Storage and 10th St. leave me feeling as if my belongings or stored at a family member’s house. My name's Rachel, I currently live in Washington state but used to live in San Francisco (and I'm currently visiting for the holidays lol). I was moving two years ago to Washington from San Francisco, and couldn't take all of my belongings with me. So I went to the public storage closest to me and spoke with the manager there, Stacy. Stacy was very helpful in assisting me to find the perfect unit for my things which actually ended up being on Treat, not this one. She was very pleasant and explained everything in my contract that I didn't understand, she showed me how to set up payments and made my first experience in renting a storage unit very easy and way less stressful than I had anticipated. I definitely recommend this facility, and would definitely rent from them again if I needed too. Thank you :)

I went there for the first time to pick something up. When I left I went to backup out the entrance (after the car behind me did) and even though there were at least two workers sitting in the office which has windows looking out over the entrance. Neither of them came out to tell me that's not how you exit and after the other car left, I tried to do the same. The automatic gate slammed into the back of my car. Part of the back of my car popped off and it is totally scratched up. THAT is when the workers came out, took a photo of my license and said I would receive a bill for their gate. (Wonderful customer service) With customer's coming in and out all day, why is there no sensor on their gate. I even have one on my garage and I am not a business.

Storage facility that's well lit and clean. Hours posted doesn't mean that someone will be in the office as I have gone to the facility but couldn't enter because no one was in the office and the gate was inaccessible. Rates are a bit high for a small 5×4 unit and someone broke the lock on my unit. Insurance is strongly encouraged or you'll be SOL. Due to a lot of homeless people utilizing the facilities, you may see a good bit of people in and out often but other than a broken lock (haven't checked everything in my unit just replaced the lock), I haven't had any issues.

The team at this Public Storage location go absolutely above and beyond for their customers. We had a very complex storage unit issue arise, and Yeppo worked with us to solve the issue quickly and reasonably. This kind of customer care is incredibly rare, and in a time when this storage facility is extremely strapped and busy, it's a huge feat that they're able and willing to continue to focus on quality service. BIG thank you to Yeppo and the team for their help over the past month, and for their continued strides in excellent service and kindness. Highly recommend!

I started renting a unit during this Public Storage's half-off sale, which is an awesome deal! I could have gone to one of the several other Public Storage locations in San Francisco, but this one had a great deal and had the size unit available. When I went to sign the contract at Public Storage, Ann Marie was super helpful and provided me with all the information that I needed. She seemed very knowledgable and was eager to answer my questions. Ann Marie provided me with excellent customer service. Overall I'm very happy I chose this Public Storage location.

I have been a customer here for several months the staff are all Pleasant and the resident manager Mike is very helpful and understanding the only problem I have is that there is only elevator access to the basement storage area it would be nice if the staircase were made accessible to the basement for quick trips in and out when you don't need the elevator other than that I would recommend this facility to others and plan to be a customer here for sometime in the future as I have never had a problem with security or the safety of my belongings

The girls anne-Marie and Stacy have been over-the-top helpful very nice, it's a pleasure when I see them here and also the girls that you have filling in I've been nothing but nice to be too I'm not sure what the names are. But above and beyond Stacy and Anne-Marie I have to say this but I feel I can call them friends. Even suggested a restaurant for moms day, thanks again girls!! It's refreshing in this day and age where customer service, good customer service is a dying art. It's nice to know some people just give it naturally

I have been renting a space at this storage fascillity for over a year now and have always found Stacy to be not only courteous and engaging but also efficient and helpful with any questions or issues which I may have. Every month when I go in to pay my bill, I can count on being consistently greeted by her friendly disposition and dealt with in a professional manner. The only thing that ever changes is her creative choice of hair color and styles! She is probably the biggest asset which this Public Storage company has to offer.

Highly approchable. Well informed of building info and work details.. just seen with My eyes .. the agent speaking with his both at the sametime providing a customer with 1st aid.. i though that was a amazing effort on both ends.. Michael provided excellent customer service aswell and help out other customers with a timely matter. Not to mention there was broken glass by my tire. Michael also removed that debriss so my tires wont get deflated. Thank you very much michael..

I dropped by Public Storage today to buy supplies as I will be moving very soon. Eric was a fantastic help and gave great customer service as I was looking for boxes bigger than the ones they had on display up front so he went to the back to find me xl size boxes. He also was extremely informative when I asked him questions regarding the mattress cover and the tape gun. Would recommend asking for him if you ever drop by the place!

I've been able to get support from the management "Stacy" when I have problems or questions. She is really helpful and actively listens to the tenants needs. I have been a tenant for more than 15 years and would prefer to remain local and where I can access my belongings. I have been very pleased with the service and management has changed a few times since my moving in. It could use more managers like Stacy!!!

I guess there used to be a problem with customer service at this location, but the girl they had at the desk today, Tangie, was simply fantastic. She was attentive, kind and helpful. Obtaining the unit did take longer than I'd hoped, and they couldn't provide me their lowest rate available, apparently because I'd already made a reservation. But the place seemed clean and accommodating.

i applied online and the $1 first month discount was not available, which was a disappointment. however, there was a pricing discount on the unmit which helped. all-in-all, the experience was as painless as can be expected when forced for personal reasons to have to pay to rent extra storage beyond ones housing rent by reason of unsafe living conditions in SF.

when I arrived in,San Francisco storage was a nightmare wow not any more at public storage I have found a place where I get treated like a person I find myself laughing with the counter people when I leave it always feeling so satisfied know my items are safe and feeling good inside what a place I would like to thank public storage for all the good they do

I went in to this place yesterday to see if they have a drive in storage box but unfortunately they don't. I'd love to be in this area because I work half a block. The asian or latino guy (Not sure) employee was nice enough to show me some units. I will rent here if my movers will be able to figure out how to move in using a small truck.

This is the best storage experience I’ve had. The employees were incredibly helpful while I had to deal with some issues on my end and put their full concentration into helping me get my belongings out of my locker. I hope management reads these reviews and gives Yeppo, Michael, and Marcus a nice holiday bonus and a raise!

Updating my review - wow these guys are scam artists. They'll increase prices on you without telling you and then hang up on you when you call to ask why. If you find a cheaper rate online they simply don't care. Move in was easy but a couple months in its clear that these guys are as shady as it gets. Avoid at all costs.

She answered all my questions promptly and with confidence and genuinely cared about the quality of service–sharing tips wherever she saw fit. Glad to have gotten storage here!

Wanda was incredibly helpful! She showed me several different sizes of storage units and walked me through all the different types of packing materials I would need to transport my stuff to the storage facility. Moving is stressful, but this definitely made things a little less anxiety-inducing for me. :)

This place look like a disaster. Homeless people are in that place 24/7. People are smoking week and getting shots. When I came my lock was a little broken it seem like someone was trying to break in and get my stuff. Go somewhere safe. Not a good location I'm not going back there again.

Went in today to buy a few boxes. Nicole had a line of customers (about 5) in front of her, Nicole was great she was able to answer all questions in a timely manner. Nicole was able to accept payments and ring my boxes up all in 5mins Great job!!!! Very impressive!!!!!!!

These guys are great! I kept my stuff here for a year and the service was always on point. Shouts out to Eric especially for the exceptional service. He not only was super helpful for me, but also at least 10 other individuals who came in today while I was loading up.

Rented at this location a couple of months ago the manager Michael is real friendly and tends to all customers professionally this is how service should be the property is a little out dated but the service I get is excellentand would recommend any to store here

I've used this facility for about 12 years and, asi it's always worked well for me. The location is really convenient. In an ideal world, the access hours would be longer and there would be more parking places, but neither of these is a dealbreaking problem.

Marcus and Michael are great! I'd never used self storage before, and they answered all my simple questions, and were VERY helpful! The place is clean, easy to access, not too busy, and no nonsense. Really great experience thanks to the excellent staff!

Pretty standard for a public storage. The exit gate frequently doesn't seem to work and there aren't many parking spaces. The employees are just okay not too helpful but not too obtrusive. Nothing special, but hey it is storage, what do you expect.

I love the staff there . It's a young blk lady Bunche name Nicole that works on Thursday and Friday's excellent customer service skills. In a world now with customer service is a thing of the past this young lady needs to teach classes on it.

They have a great Labor Day sale going on and we were able to get a well-priced storage unit right away. Bobby, who was working in the office, was very helpful and answered all our questions. Easy in and out.

The storage area seems old and in the middle of Tenderloin area. It is pretty near to where I live but they don't have AC in their lockers. I was referred to check one of their branches in South Van Ness.

My best friend got à locker here. We went there yesterday and found her locker was full of mice. That's right mice. There were droppings everywhere. So if you get locker here,don't get it underground.

Our unit was broken into and they did absolutely nothing about it. Apparently my unit is in a blind spot for the camera. How secure can a place be if some units are not protected?

Michael at the location is very helpful and responsive to requests. The app and online websites are very bad which make it very hard to reach the property manager.

It was clean, and the gatekeeper was very nice. Just only very small car access with only one way in or out made it a little tough. Other than that, it was nice.
