I've been at this property for about the past year with no problems - but have had multiple problems recently. The last 3 times in a row that I have gone, the carts were still locked up well into operating hours. I had to go to the office twice to come ask them to unlock it - two of those times, the person working the desk said they had never been to this property, that they were unaware there were carts on both sides, and that they didn't know where the keys were. They had to search for the keys and then try all of them to unlock the carts - both times. The third time, it was the normal property manager, but the carts were still locked up, and so was the bathroom. The real problem though, is occurring presently - as Public Storage is asking/requiring me to pay rent for this upcoming month, even though my unit was vacated and cleaned on the last day of the prior month. I suppose it's my mistake for not re-reading the policy, but I was just told on the phone "they probably didn't walk the property again that day, so they vacated you on Sunday, the following day. That's the first of the month, so that's why they're charging you rent." So even though I was out in time, since the property manager did not walk the property after I moved out, according to them I didn't move out until the following day, and so I owe a full month's rent for the empty unit. The employee I just spoke with on the phone told me she would check the "date logs" and "see what she could do". I said I'm not sure I understand, can you please explain to me what that means - what information would be in the date logs that could help? She said, I'm just going to have to check and see what I can do. No explanation. I'm all for policy and rules, but this feels like I'm being tricked. Even if they remedy this (which I will follow up about) this is still an inconvenience and does not inspire trust in the company. I was out in time, they didn't confirm that, and so I'm being taken advantage of in the name of "policy". Fun stuff. EDIT: I was not expecting the service and care I received after posting my original view. Lauren saw what I had written within a day, called to apologize personally for the issues I was having, and confirmed that they knew I had vacated on the day I did and that I would not have to pay the extra month's rent. Excellent experience! Pretty easy to overlook the carts being locked up when the management is willing to listen, investigate, and act on customer issues. Re-EDIT: June 2020 - Since this experience, the quality of management of this property has continued to drop. I came into town today to go to my unit, and BOTH elevators in the building are out of order. I was unable to access my unit, but received no notice, no offer to prorate rent for the days I'm unable to access. No communication whatsoever. The last time I was here (February 2020) over half of the fluorescent lights in the hallway were out, and the property management told me, "corporate is going to change out the fixtures in all their properties, so they're not changing bulbs or doing repairs on these old ones anymore." So there was just no light in the hallway or units. Really? So I wanted to check today if that had been fixed, but....I wasn't able to get to the unit I'm paying for. This is a poorly managed property in terms of repairs and tenant communications, even if they do have some good property managers who are trying to make a difference.

I contacted this Public Storage location to assist in dealing with trespassers who were disturbing the adjoining neighborhood. Everyone in the neighborhood had been complaining to APD, but nothing had been done for years until Emilio, Daniel and most importantly Lauren took it upon themselves to also complain and most importantly follow through. All 3 have been a great help in cleaning up the property to its original natural state. Since my first contact they took the situation very serious and worked with me and APD to get the trespassers off their property. You might be wondering how this is relevant on a Public Storage review? Well, for one, they take the quality and cleanliness of their facility and the surrounding areas very seriously. Enough so to go out of their way to do so. Additionally, safety and security are a top priority for them. Lastly, their quality of service (especially Lauren) is top notch. Thank you guys!!!

If you need extra space to store your things and in the South Austin area, the Public Storage on IH35 and Teri is a gorgeous, spotless and air conditioned facility. It feels like a condo of storage units! The storage manager, Shai, was thorough, explained everything and gave me a tour. I had questions and she took the time to answer with a smile, friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. She had many other things going on at the same time, but made you feel as you were the priority. It was a great experience from the time I walked in -- until I left. I hope she gets a much deserved raise -- she is definitely an asset to the company and a rare gem. Hands down one of the best experiences with a business that I have had in a long time.

I’ve rented from 4 storage units now and this has been by far the best experience yet! 1) the facility is well maintained and security is better than most storage units. 2) the staff here are especially helpful. Specifically Lauren has gone out of her way to help my move in and move out transitions so easy. I worked with another employee here as well but do not remember her name. Both were very friendly. 3) pricing is pretty good for the area. It’s not the cheapest in Austin BUT you’re getting peace of mind with this facility and an excellent staff to help you. You can do everything online to set up reoccurring monthly payments as well. Get a storage unit here, you won’t regret it.

Computer system seems a little complicated. We had a new girl when I Went first and she wasn’t sure how to change units for me. Jessica was there when we checked in. Jessica R. She was wonderful! She knew everything. The first girl did go show us the new unit and noticed that the bottom of the right door wasn’t working properly and got it fixed somehow before we came back a couple days later. Very nice people but complicated computer business and the checkout was not too easy. Our men were wonderful and were very careful with our stuff but then we had to get a manager to come to help with the checkout process. We will continue to use this Public Storage.

Jennifer and Danielle have been amazing Best customer service I have experienced in dealing with any storage building facility if you’re thinking about any kind of business that has to do with needing a storage facility in this area that has to do with needing a storage facility it’s not even a question. The District manager Jennifer was so sweet and called and texted me on my long trip from Dallas. I mean unbelievable and Danielle stayed over 30 minutes extra and with me being in the storage auction business and doing business with so many storage facilities it was really unbelievable the kind of service that I obtained from this facility.

I was moving property from a house in probate and had seriously underestimated the amount of storage that I needed, when I rented a unit. On the Saturday move day, when it was evident that the unit was too small, the agent on duty, Stephanie, stayed past her normal business hours to assist me in obtaining just enough additional storage space to accommodate my property. She did not try to up-sell me and was very pleasant & helpful - even though she could have easily closed the office and /or rushed me out. Her customer service was exemplary, and I will certainly recommend her and this location to my circle of friends and associates.

They locked my unit because they failed to set up autopay and wouldn't take off the $20 late fee. The lady on the phone was arguing with me about how it wasn't their fault and told me she didn't care if I left. I'll be moving out as soon as I get this sorted out and I'll never use another public storage unit again. I use this unit for my business and not being able to get into my unit is costing me jobs. Edit: The manager finally fixed the problem. The main issue was with the employee "Janie" hopefully they fire her and hire someone that will help out their business instead of arguing and yelling at customers.

This was the first time I've ever rented a storage unit, and what a pleasant experience it was. Lauren went above and beyond to ensure I understood the way it all worked. She was so helpful in my choosing which size unit was ideal for my situation. Moving day is always a headache but Lauren made our stressful day that much easier. She also showed me that they carry all kinds of products necessary for storing my valuable music equipment like this anti-moisture stuff, as well as strong boxes and tape. Thank you Lauren, I'll be recommending this place to all my buddies.

Danielle had to be the most helpful person I’ve met in a while; I’ll explain. It seems like these days, it’s hard enough to get people to work, let alone get them to go above and beyond! Public Storage management, this is the exact employee who takes true pride in their work, and represents their company to the highest degree! I don’t leave a ton of reviews, but I truly appreciate going above and beyond, always being polite and having a big smile on your face. These people aren’t shown ENOUGH appreciation! Very positve experience and outstanding customer service! The parking lot and building is spotless and inside smelt refreshing. I came inside today asking about pricing. Danielle explained that it best to make the appointment online, since I was in time crunch. She also explained the benefits of making the appointment online will save me time and I will be able to schedule my move in date to my own convenience. Which I definitely like! I will definitely recommend other business, family, and friends to visit Danielle!

Customer service (public storage account support) is aweful. Auto pay failed (I moved, address didn't align) was told updating address would solve the issue, updated, failed again and charged 25% late fee for the month. I was told by the location that account management would remove the fee if I explained the situation, they instead closed it with no ability to remove the fee. Mind I had already turned over the space back to the facility, and there was still 23 days left in the month. Egregious nickel and diming.

I made a reservation at the Ben White airport location. The manager there, C.J., reviewed my information and called to let me know they couldn't accommodate me. He then offered to transfer my reservation to this location where there was sufficient space for what I needed...without me having to ask! At this location I met Blade. He was subbing that morning. He was awesome! He made the experience quick, easy and painless. To management, I think Blade would be excellent managing his own store.

I recently began renting out a storage unit at this location and its been a fantastic experience! Clean place, and even friendlier/wicked helpful staff! Huge shout out to Danielle + Stephanie at the I 35 S location. Those two were very informative and thorough when choosing which storage unit would be my best bet. There are many public storage locations I could have chosen from but because of these two ladies customer centric approach, I chose this specific site. Highly recommend!

Oh my gosh! I can not say enough about this storage facility. I have had a unit here for a few months now. Janie at the front desk is sooo helpful and accommodating. She is always so sweet and kind. She keeps the place sparkling clean as well. I have never had such great customer service. Blown away. Plus, it’s very reasonably priced and super central in Austin. If I could give Janie and this facility extra stars, I would.

It was very quick and easy to get my unit at public storage. Shai was nice and very helpful in explaining everything I would need to know about the unit. She gave me a walk through of the building, walked me through their mobile app that makes everything convenient, and she seemed to care about her job which is hard to find these days. The unit was clean and the price was good. Overall a good experience. Highly recommend

Lauren is quite the feather in the cap for whomever hired her. She has been helpful and courteous each and every time I have a question or interact with her. She offered advice on what unit and where in the building would suit me best. I wasn't expecting great customer service but she changed my mind about what to expect. I will recommend others to use this location as Lauren has been most helpful.

I have been storing my stuff here for a few months. The facilities are clean and the staff is great. The negative part is there are only a few carts and having to enter your code every time you need to get access. The carts are not available after the staff leaves. When you are making over 20 trips it can get a little annoying but overall its a great price and great staff that are actually helpful.

I have used this facility many times over the years. Each time, without exception, I have received Five-Star treatment, exemplary customer service. Every employee I have encountered has been stellar. One in particular, however, stands out as extraordinary. Thank you, Janie, for going above and beyond to make my experience at this Public Storage facility a top-shelf experience. Well done!

The service from this place is great. When I was late on move in Ron called me to make sure I was ok and that there hadn’t been in an accident. So sweet! He got me checked in real quick so my movers could get started ASAP and made sure I was getting the best deal on my unit. Seriously, he went above and beyond and made me feel better about storing my stuff here for a while.

I was able to very easily set up a reservation this morning to get a 5x5 storage unit. Janie called me later in the day to make sure she'd be available when I stopped by, and once I arrived she helped me very easily get set up, ran me through my options and explained everything very well! Overall the process was very easy and Janie was extremely helpful.

Just finished up signing my lease here at public storage. This is a very fine facility right in the heart of Austin. Easily accessible and clean climate controlled property. Mrs Janie was the sweetest. Very kind and welcoming. She also really knew her property well, finding me a better unit than what I chose online and saving me a good $50 a month.

Absolutely the cleanest storage units around Austin. Janie was super helpful in assisting us with any questions we had. Would highly recommend! Great location with easy access. Elevator was broken often, so made it harder to access the upstairs units when the other elevator was all the way on the other side of the building. There is no stair access. The employee was often snarky and passive aggressive in her responses to questions. There were lots of rat traps/poison all over, so there must be a rat problem.

We've had this unit for over a year and never had a single problem with bugs in the space -- a record in Texas! The folks at the front desk were always helpful, and when we cleared out this unit, they made it super simple to close our account out. Would recommend this location to anyone as well-operated and staffed with nice folks.

Lauren is the property manager of this location and she gave me incredible service. She spent a lot of time walking me through all of my options over the phone and twice on the property itself. She is completely knowledgeable about the property she manages and how everything works. I felt very lucky to have Lauren helping me.

This is my first experience using a storage facility. Rita was great. She took her time to explain all of the requirements for renting a storage facility and she made sure that the unit was appropriate for my needs. Renting the facility was totally transparent and effective. Rita made the difference; not Public Storage.

Most storage places in Austin are terrible. This one is great with no hidden fees or BS. Jen was probably the best storage agent I have dealt with. ustin are expensive and have hidden conditions. This place is great with no hidden fees or bs. Jen makes sure everything is squared away if you have any issues at all.

Great, knowledgeable staff read my mind and knew my needs better than I did. I was sure I had everything I needed to move and knew what size unit I needed, but took Daniel’s advice and was able to get a smaller unit by purchasing the right boxes, and saved me plenty of money over the next two or three months.

janie is wonderful and helpful more helpful than the customer service automated system where you get a live person that wants to charge you 20 $ to make an over the phone payment, just lazy over the phone thank goodness for janie at location 08431 as i am a long and returning customer bc of janies assistance

My experience with this location since it switched from LifeStorage to Public Storage has been a HUGE improvement. Shai at the front office has helped me every time I've visited my unit and is always so friendly, funny, and awesome at answering my questions because I am the worst at managing my unit haha.

They are soooo helpful. We've had many units around town, this is convenient and the staff is incredibly friendly. I've been with these guys for years and even with a few of the issues (which let's be honest you'll encounter anywhere) they address them promptly and always work with us when we need them!

I’ve been renting a space here for a few months and have had a great experience. Customer service has been incredible! Have been using them for about a year now. Awesome customer service. Facility is clean, everything works, and climate controlled. It's very secure and if you don't have a code you can't get in. Never worry about my stuff there. The staff is great, and Yazmin is awesome. I highly recommend!!!

Janie and the entire staff at this location have been amazing to work with. As a new comer to town, they were welcoming and quickly assessed our storage needs without attempting to over sell us. Location is easy to get in and out of, but the secure elevator can be challenging at times.

Love sonic but the staff gave me more problems than I've ever had. Came to get a quick snack and they didn't give me my completed order. Pressed the button immediately and told them. Proceeded to wait 10 minutes just to be called a liar. Guess I'm not going to this location again

I can't say enough about the wonderful staff at Public Storage! At every turn they were helpful, hard working, and eager to go well beyond the normal level of service I would expect. The property is clean and safe, and all of my belongings were in good hands while stored here!

Super dirty property, smells terrible in the elevator. Website said I was getting a ground floor unit only for it to be on the 4th. One hand cart to move stuff up and down the elevator, so if multiple people are waiting, you get to either wait or lug one box at a time around.

I love it! Stephanie was really great! She showed me everything and made me understand everything perfectly. She was also quite a riot. I laughed and chuckled all the way back home. I am happy with my Unit and the property was really nice. I'd recommend it to friends. ;)

They increase the price of your unit every 6 months. The longer you stay the more you pay for your unit. They only appreciate new customers. They take advantage of long term customers.
