Overall, a very good gym that I've been attending for 2 years now. There are two floors with lots of equipment and weights, enough lockers and drinking stations and generally it's pretty tidy. I have tried attending classes 3 times, though with 2 of them I turned up and found out they were cancelled but was never notified on email or the app, despite me checking in case I had blocked the notifications/email (which I didn't). Out of the 4 bar rack stations, only 1 of them (upstairs one) is designed with a bit more space, meaning you don't need to lift the bar away from the rack if you're shorter (i'm 5ft 3) and needing to do RDLs without anything in the way. This is rather annoying as it is often used, so if I have to use one of the other 3 rack stations I have to pick bar off from the ground (due to limitations on the bar rack) which I do not like. Also they do not top up their cleaning stations often enough as multiple times a week there is little to no cleaning spray.
I really love this gym. I have been to a few different ones in the past, and let my fitness slip massively during covid. Ive been putting off joining another gym as i was embarrassed if im honest. Moved to the area and thought I'd give it a go. Really pleasantly surprised, from my initial tour to my first few months. The trainers and classes are fantastic, supportive and welcoming. Gym is great and fantastic value for money. I've got my confidence back and genuinely look forward to going to the gym now! Special mention to Ryan, I love his classes, so easy going and enjoyable, love Friday curcuits! Thank you all
One time use, as a "day pass". It's secure, clean, nicely air-conditioned, friendly, and has a very good atmosphere. There is a plethora of exercise equipment, with weights from 2kg, to over 50kg. Squat racks, benches galore, cardio machines, and all the rest. They also have a great selection of classes - but that's not my thing. I'm sure that will be a great selling point for many other people, however. I use X4S gym, normally, but I popped in because I'm in the area. And, I'm glad that I did.
So far so good, smaller than what I’m used to but very quiet in the afternoons. There are two rowers upstairs shoved into awkward space next to the stretching area, why? It’s almost like they ran out of space so just put them there. No seated leg curl machine either. I also noticed that none of the cardio machines have those little fans but what I do love is the air-con in this gym, i get really hot normally (medical condition) so the added chill is great and it isn’t too much at all.
I have only been using Puregym Brislington for 4 weeks as my preconception of gyms was holding me back. I am pleased to admit that i had it so wrong. The Brislington gym is a nice one to use. Availability of equipment is always there, the facilities are great and the people/staff that work/use the gym are very friendly. If you've never used a gym before and want too but don't know which one to choose, puregym is a good place to start
Great equipment, good space. 3 squat racks available and 2 benches. However two stars lost because only 1% of people re-rack weights at all which is frustrating and time consuming. People are left collecting weights from benches and racks that are in use which is very disrupting, especially so when people don't ask and the weights will be in use. PureGym needs to get some dedicated weight racks and properly enforce gym etiquette.
The gym is very well equipped, and there's usually enough kit for everyone on busy periods. Also convenient to have on-site parking. I understand that keeping a gym this size clean might be tricky, but it seems like they could do much better when it comes to hoovering the floor so that lint and dust don't accumulate in corners and that kind of thing. Otherwise, pretty good experience overall.
Spacious gym with lovely trainers always happy to help. It can be crowded if you go during peak hours (after 6pm especially), but off-peak hours are very relaxed. There's water fountains and plenty of machines to use as well as a big free weights area and mats to do stretches or whatever you'd need s mat for really. Really happy I decided to sign up for PureGym!
Good value gym but the design of some of the equipment is questionable for serious trainers. Shame it's in a most inconvenient place too, right on the busiest road in bristol. There should be one on the imperial estate or that neck of the woods. I was asked to update my review to get 5 points Points for what I don't know.... so updated
Myself and my husband have been coming to pure gym the last few weeks we have got the most brilliant fantastic gym instructor Maris he is the number one gym instructor he's supportive reliable brings your confidence out doesn't judge you makes you believe in yourself and never gives up on you. I would highly recommend maris to anyone
Plenty of parking and 24/7 with ease of access. Ample of space in changing rooms. Lots of equipment and space over 2 floors. Only gripe is 1 Powerlifting station and it doesnt have bumper plates so for heavy Deadlifting or Cleans droping the weights might crack them. Other than that good place.
Nice gym, can get a bit crowded in the evenings. Has 2 floors and variety of different machines to choose from. Only minus is that all of the running machines do not have the air conditioning which would have been very useful. I know that they have it in two other pure gyms nearby.
This gym is one of my favourites! It’s clean and tidy, the classes are always fun to attend and the personal trainers are always helpful/friendly, (especially Sammy) No matter what time of day I go here, there is always something to do. Everyone is friendly and approachable.
Nice big gym. Plenty of space to workout and good equipment. Could do with a couple of Wattbikes then it would be a 5 star review, the spin bikes aren't the best, but for the price, it's a great value place to work out. Classes well run and app is unbelievably good too.
Very nice and clean environment. Staff were well trained and very informative and supportive whilst pushing me to improve myself. I appreciated their support set realistic goals and their challenging approach to enable me to fulfill those goals. Fantastic gym.
Good gym but…I’ve been away for 4 weeks due to injury. The exercise bike is still out of order as well as the vending machine and the windows are sweating with condensation….Pure gym why are things broken for so long and why is it so hot in here?! Whew
Not got the most equipment. Even with price scaling I wouldn't say it's entirely worth it. Generally never too busy though which is a bonus and lots of parking. Situated in one of the less favourable parts of Bristol but that's not it's fault
For the lockdown which started mid March, money still got taken out of my account mid March. I understand that they can/could credit this back. I ended up cancelling my contract at the end of the year (2020) as I was advised this was the
Traffic on Bath Road and in the retail park made this place inconvenient for any kind of quick visit for me. Good value for money although busy periods in gym make it difficult to follow your circuit excercises until machines come free.
Absolutely amazing gym - always clean and the staff are so lovely. Really good machinery and good value for money! Not too crowded either. Classes are fab and you always feel sore (the good kind) after, special shout-out to Sam! ☺️
I'm very surprised in a good way ,they have a very wide range of devices that you can use for workout , a very open space available and nice people around. I am very pleased and satisfied being there and training …
A great gym, all sorts of people go here and everyone is just getting on with their own thing. Trainers are all polite and friendly and there is a lot of equipment available all times if the day.
A great all round gym and to be honest a bargain with your membership including the classes. Plenty of equipment to go around but you can sometime find yourself queuing for a piece of machinery
Good place to train, good assortment of equipment and excellent showers. Everyone I have seen there has the same purpose train and go, it's not a social event to stand around chatting. …
My favourite PureGym in Bristol. Only problem is people keep stealing the carabiner clips rendering the machines inoperable. Also it's a bit cold in Winter as they don't turn the heating up.
Friendly, aprochable staff. Gym isn't intimidating at all. The kit is well looked after and clean Classes and personal trainers are great especially the Pilates lady. Overall a great gym
Big place with a lot of equipment so you don't have to wait long for anything. Nice trainers willing to help whenever needed. Perfect gym if not a little expensive to join.
Nice place like most Pure gyms in Bristol the only "bad" is that the leg curls machine is on the way to the changing rooms that makes you look on ALL KINDS OF BUTTS :D
Great facilities, friendly staff. I do have a suggestion for the showers, if you could supply a couple of squeegees for obvious reason! That would be brilliant.
A decent gym with helpful staff and a great range of equipment and classes. Like other gyms in the chain there's convenient 24hr access via a keypad.
Very good gym with plenty of equipment and cleaning stations. However during peak times you can expect to wait for equipment as it gets really busy.
I always feel comfortable and welcome in this gym. The equipment is good and there isn't usually too much if a wait for anything you want to use.
Great gym and easier to get to if you're coming from the Bedminster instead of going to the pure gym next to IKEA since Barrow Road closed down
Clean and tidy with a good range of equipment, however wouldnt recommend going in peak times as it gets very busy. Parking available is good.
I am a member at this gym, and I find it's a good location and there are a lot of personal trainer's so there is always someone to help you
Really enjoyed my early morning session. COVID set up is great, safe and clean. The App is great to allow monitoring of numbers in the gym
Many members stare at women and have overhead inappropriate comments on them from both staff and members poor equipment.
Good layout and equipment but oversubscribed meaning having to queue for use of equipment unless you choose quiet times
Great offers, bit busy early mornings and evening, but the variety of equipments gives you the choice of you work out.
One of the best PureGym’s I’ve been too, great staff and always clean. Could do with more lifting platforms however.
Lovely gym, nice and tidy, very clean, friendly and helpful staff, I am enjoyed my workout every time Im there :)
Give it a 5 star if their were more facilities, but count this as a 4.5 as not much else is wrong with the place
Fabulous gym! very spacious with loads of kit loads of classes and staff are very helpful ....love this place!
always clean and tidy. Everyone seems friendly and respecting space , wiping down equipment after use etc..
Quite dirty and only 2 rowing machines. Both not maintained well. Usually I use the city centre outlet.
Really nice gym with a great amount of equipment! Staff are really friendly and always happy to help!
I don't know much about bodybuilding, but for a great workout, it's more than perfect. Recommended.
Great gym, used twice so far as it's close to my college and it's clean and well air-conditioned.
Very easy entry to the gym. Standardised workout facilities with pure gym however rather small.
Exceptional gym with great equipment and friendly staff, defiantly recommend this gym all round
Great gym with friendly staff. Shout out to Sam for helping me set up properly on a machine!
A great gym with lots of great equipment and a lot of friendly staff and clientele …
very busy gym at peak hours always busy after 4pm if you want to go , go during the day
Great equipment and spacious, it can get quite crowded at peak times, but managable
I've been working out here for about 8 months now and it's all good so far …
This is a fantastic gym and everyone is very friendly and my pt Emily is amazing
Always clean and great place to work out! All instructors are helpful and kind.
Impressive for a 24/7 gym. Nice people and good equipment/atmosphere.
Clean and good equipment. Big gym so rarely have to wait for anything
Best gym I've been to recommend it to anybody don't overdo Christmas
Great gym! Never too busy and wide variety of fitness equipment
Not bad, plenty of machines and cool flavoured water machine
Music too loud, Aircon too high but otherwise a great gym.
Nice clean gym plenty of equipment... Staff are friendly
Nice, clean friendly gym with very up to date equipment
Busy early when i train, but lots of kit to go round
Horrible showers, small and dark space to train
Perfect place to chill after work :))
Very good gym and parking outside
Showers need to be warmer.
