Post 1 of 2 Best Rona in town! I had a recent experience to which I felt it was important for folks to be aware of. I purchased over 60 patio stones for a "covid project". I purchased my stones from Rona Bowness, delivery of my stones came a few days later. The stones were delivered on my street and I transported(solo) over, 3900lbs to store on my property while I prepared the ground. As I moved my stones to the storage area (the delivery fellow had already left) I noticed a big chunk of my stones were cracked right through the middle or on the corners. I wasn't too upset to the fact that I knew some would likely be broken or chipped(as expected). As I got further down to the bottom of the first pallet it became apparent that every stone on the bottom 3-4 layers was broken. On the second pallet it was much the same story, again being not that upset I knew it wasn't my fault these stones came this way and watching the delivery guy on how careful he was placing them down I knew Rona would understand. I called their dispatch folks and explained I was out a few stones and I couldn't finish my project without more, they quickly made arrangements to bring some to my home. The fellow arrived a few days later and all stones were intact on his truck. He helped my unload onto my grass (maybe 10-15 stones) all were not broken or cracked, I thanked him and off he went. I then proceeded to move this new set of stones to my storage area when I noticed once I got down to the bottom 3 layers the same thing had happened! (cracks right through the middle and the corners). One thing COVID has taught me is to carry extra patience, I then kept what stones I had and loaded my truck myself with the broken ones and made the trip down in person to Rona, Bowness(its a fair drive for me but as I mentioned this is the best store in town). Once I got there I drove into the yard and explained my story to the gate attendant. I then went inside and spoke to customer service, as I was walking out to my truck there was a fellow by the name of Kim(I believe he is a manager of some sort in the yard) and I overheard him talking with some of the other associates in the store he mentioned there is a customer in the yard with "a whole bunch of broken patio slab in his truck". I interrupted him and said I am that guy, he said "come with me sir" as we walked to my truck he was very apologetic, I told him the story and he was extremely understanding. We walked over to my truck full of rubble and he made arrangements for yard staff help me unload while he tried to track down more stones for me. As it turned out they only had a handful of stones and they all were in pretty poor shape so he told me he would make arrangements for replacement and have them shipped to my house. A few days later my shipment came while I was at work, the stones were on my grass and I went to move them to my storage location when I realized the delivery fellow had taken my "still good" stones I had in storage in replacement of the stones he was dropping off. Little did he know I had actually taken the broken ones in already. The day I left the yard after speaking with Kim he gave me his phone number to which I called right away again explaining the circumstances. In true Kim fashion he was again very apologetic, he felt so terrible he even offered to load a bunch in his own vehicle and transport them to my house for me! I thought to myself, here is a guy whom is offering to go well out of his way for me due to my inconvenience when he could just have shipped more and be done with it. I am not sure how many of you folks have been in the home improvement stores during COVID, but I can tell you that for a man like Kim and staff at Rona Bowness to have this amount of patience and continued focus on customer service is incredible (I have seen staff patience wearing thin at other stores) .I told Kim I was ok to wait for more stones and he made arrangements to have more shipped, again apologizing profusely. (see picture for final comments)
One star is one too many! We have just had the most heinous service at your Rona in Bowness, Calgary. The staff is incredibly rude and was yelling at my husband!! I placed an online order yesterday to pick up at the store, so that we would not have to enter the store and could maintain safe social distancing. I received an email yesterday saying at least one item would be ready in 2 hours. Today, no further email update so we tried calling the store multiple times. No answer. We went to the store and called the curbside pickup number. We were told that our order was almost ready. I asked if we should come back later and was told “no, just wait a few minutes and we’ll have it ready”. We were then told to go to the lumber area and the items would be there. No one in the lumber area knew what was going on, even though we were told they were expecting us. We were told to go and gather the items ourselves (completely defeating the purpose of curbside pickup!!). They were rude and told us they didn’t do online order assembly so we should go inside and speak with “Carlos”, when we expressed that we were confused as we were told the order would be waiting for us. When my husband did go inside to speak with Carlos, someone named Will berated him and told him he had put the order in the lots did why didn’t we just pick it up?. When my husband explained that the rude young scruffy man out back told us it wasn’t there, Will began yelling that they are under a lot of stress and very busy, and this is our fault for coming to the store early. Again, I had offered to come back later, and was told by this Will person on the phone that it was fine to stay. He then told my husband that we’d have to go and gather the lumber and roofing components of our order ourselves. This is not what is stated in the email explaining how curbside pickup works. All the while, not ONE employee was exercising social distancing or wearing a mask of any kind, so this is really not somewhere we want to spend any time touching things. My husband demanded a refund as we have no desire to purchase ANYTHING from Rona ever again. We will never return to a Rona after this horrible experience. We are happy to order these items online from Home Depot or Lowe’s as they actually do provide curbside pickup as advertised!!! rona’s customer service is disgusting!!
I had the worst customer service when I went there in the evening to buy paint. Don who is supposedly the paint guy was curt and totally not interested in getting paint mixed for me. I gave him one of my paint chips and asked if he could match and mix it. He took it and it took him 15 - 20 min at a computer to try to figure out how to match it. And then when I asked if he was going to be able to do it as he did not appear to be competent at it, he said he should be able to which did not inspire confidence, since it had taken him this long for one colour and I still had another colour I needed him to do. Another 5 or 10 min went by and then he proceeded to help another customer before he even started mixing my paint. When I asked if he was still helping me and going to be able to match and start mixing my paint, he turned to me and asked if I was in a hurry or something. I asked for my paint chips back and left to go to the Rona at Westhills. He made some rude comments as I was leaving. At Westhills Rona, their paint person had the chips matched within 3 minutes by typing the name and number into the computer and had the paint mixed in 10-15 minutes. Not sure why Don is the paint guy at Bowness. We have always gone to the Bowness store since it was Totem and it always had great service. Now the store has gone downhill and seems destined for closure if this is how they treat customers.
I had ordered a hose for my pressure washer online a week ago as their site indicated that they had one in stock that could be picked up. After paying for the item I drive to the store only to find out that while they do have a hose they do not have any of the fittings that came with it. I was told not to worry though because lots more were coming in on Tuesday. On Wednesday I get an email from the store that the item is ready for pick up so I stop by on Friday on my way out to BC to pick it up. Once I am at the store they hand me the same hose without the fittings that I saw a week before! I asked the gentlemen about the fittings that came with it and he had no idea what I was talking about. Eventually, another staff member came over to tell me that notwithstanding the fact that I was told a week earlier that there would be lots in stock, that they actually have none in stock but that the Forest Lawn store had one. Needless to say I really did not want to drive 30 minutes in the wrong direction to get the parts so I just took the hose without the fittings and left. Lesson learned next time I should just go to Home Depot. The staff were friendly for the most part with exception of Ray who should really learn to check his attitude at the door.
Just awful. Ordered online for some ready mix concrete that I needed on a specific. Friday of delivery, it doesn't show up. I call the customer service phone number. They tell me that someone left a voicemail for me (never happened). They say they will get the manager of the location to call. An hour later, no call - I call the store. It is 4:30 pm now and there is no one in the delivery department. Call sales, guys transfers me to the delivery department that I just told him was empty. Call again, and the guy puts the manager on the line. Manager immediately gives me attitude and tells me they CAN'T CHECK THE ORDER. After arguing with him for 5 minutes he says he will call back. Calls back to tell me my address isn't on the delivery sheet, I tell him the order number. "Oh that is a web order, I will have to check and call you back". Calls back, "Oh I am sorry, we messed up - we charged you for the order but we didn't put it on the delivery sheet - earliest I can do is Monday". Then gets angry at me for telling him he should not tell customers that he can't check on an order when he clearly can. Waiting to see how the refund is processed, but based on the service I received I am guessing it will mean a call to the credit card company...
Was emailed that my online order was ready for pickup, and that a customer service employee would contact me shortly to set up curb side pickup. Nobody contacted me so I went to the store a few days later to pickup inside. My little package of stuff was apparently being held in the truck yard, which made no sense to the person at the pickup desk or the truck yard staff. Young guys in the truck yard were stellar at trying to find my little package and even tracked down in store the staff member who had apparently “put eyes on” my package when it arrived, but nobody could find my stuff. They assured me they would find it by end of day. The next day I called and spoke with someone in the online orders department who said he’d go look right away and call me back in a few minutes. Didn’t happen. They charged my credit card weeks ago, and I was ok with pickup delays associated with pandemic issues, but wasting my time like this isn’t good customer service. Shop somewhere else if you can.
Needed a 5 gallon pail of paint to match previous paint from Rona. Very expensive paint. The young lady looked up the colour and was able to mix it. I got home and compared the colour to the original and it is different. They have the same tint base. I checked the formulas on each can and noted that they have different tint code letters. I used to work in a building supply and can mix paint. There is obviously an error either with this new can or with the original. Either way I need it to match. I called the store three separate times and received an automated message directing me to choose an option. I chose a different option all three times as each time I get cut off and cannot resolve my issue. I have had very limited success using Rona as a supplier and here is another instance yet again. They should consider having a negative rating. Unfortunately I am forced to give them one star. Customer service
Used to love the store, but certainly not after hearing about how management treats the staff! The new manager of the store, Dee, yells at staff, makes them cry, passes the buck, and cannot lead! A good manager can support new staff with patience and understanding! This one rules by fear! I know for a fact that current employees are looking for new jobs because of her mismanagement, and they have been there for over 2 decades! In fact, employees are starting statements regarding the manager because her actions are so utterly toxic! The store is a total disaster, and is short-staffed (because people are leaving the abuse)! No one cares to properly train any new staff, and then screams at them for not doing things right. It's absolutely the worst way to treat trainees, and proves one's integrity by acting in such a toxic manner. Do not apply to this location if you want to keep your sanity!
This store has potential but I go out of my way to use other retailers whenever possible. This is do to poor service. For example. At 7:45 am on a Thursday there was a single staff member doing returns, acting as a cashier and apparently operating the paint department as well. Three people had to wait in line while the cashier mixed paint for another customer. Additionally, two other staff members were within 25 feet watching this happen. I can understand and sympathize with the cashier. Maybe there are circumstances I do not know about such as another cashier calling in sick. However, when there are two additional staff members watching this happen that are not doing anything to help the situation it becomes ridiculous. As a contractor I try to give my business to other companies. Hopefully they will become more organized and I can start using them more in the future.
The Bowness store used to be a Totem store that catered to contractors. They seem to still have that tradition. They have a well stocked yard. Plenty of yard help. They are more than willing to help out. I had a trailer hitch Problem and needed a new safety clip for the ball hitch. One of the staff went in and found one that fit and I was safe again. Above and beyond their pay grade! Great people. I mean who does that if they don't care for your welfare? They always are right there to help with loading, or if you want to do it your self they are good with that too. The pricing has been really good through all these price increases and they have stock most of the time. Many times last year they were the only ones that could help me when there were shortages. One of my "go to" stores!
In the midst of a home reno project stuff will usually go wrong and not as expected. The one thing that has gone right time after time is this Rona. All the staff are always super nice and friendly, helping me with my every need. I want to give a special shout out to the folks in the yard. Especially Sam and Gord. Sam is always willing to help me with finding the straightest 2x4s and loading they safely and effortlessly into my truck. I dont remember all the other folks in the yards name but you guys have the best yard staff in the city. No longer do I waste my time going to Lowes or HD and dealing with their cashiers who seem to care more about dragging everyone's day out. This Rona has my business in these interesting days. I hope this message finds its way to ALL the staff
Poor Totem... This has been my go too store since leaving my parents house 20 years ago. Not anymore. Store manager has no clue on Rona's "beat any competitors advertised price by 10%". He informed me it doesn't apply to sale prices... Who advertises anything but sale prices? Clearance and end of season I understand but 10 off at Lowe's...I had to leave and go to Crowfoot to put my $3800 order of patio stones through only to have it be shipped out of the Bowness yard. 10% of without even asking for it. When the material arrived 1 Pallet was the wrong color. A few of the right color was placed on the top to make it look correct. Delivery staff corrected the issue fast and the driver was awesome. That's the only reason this store gets 1 star.
Went to pick up a light fixture after seeing online they had over 20 in stock. The shelf was empty so I went to ask someone. I got sent around between pretty much all employees that were there at the time. When one finally wanted to help her first consulted all other colleagues to ask where to look for it. Every one of them said 'i don't know' and left him alone with his problem which was me, a customer. Then we went to shelf to find out it was... still empty! No way! He said 'let me see...' and walked away and never came back. 15 minutes later I said 'let me see...', walked out and never came back. Really bad customer service. Still two stars because my girlfriend enjoyed her popcorn while watching this live horror movie performance.
It’s my first time to visit this place. I used to buy from Canadian Tire and Home Depot all the gardening things. Today I visited this place and was amazed by the service in the store and the back yard. They are willing to help and very active. Sam helped me pick the soil I wanted from the back yard. Can’t say how helpful he is searching for the items going back and forth and in the store until he got me everything I want. He helped in carrying too, that was very generous of him. Sam is one of the best customer service I have ever met in the stores so far. This place is really recommended. Transactions went seamlessly and quickly as all Rona’s customer service are willing to help. Thank you Sam for the excellent shopping experience.
Online inventory shows Bowness had what we needed, Edmonton trail Rona conformed that Bowness had what we needed. We get to Bowness location and they don’t. We ask if we’re able to have a longer length of wood and just cut off the excess as we’ve now been to two locations, we’re on the opposite side of the city from where we live and they just flat out say no. I ask to speak with the manager, he’s on lunch, ask for whoever the manager is and “Don won’t come outside” we say we will wait for the supervisor to finish lunch... then it turns out he’s gone home for the day. Very unimpressed with the level or service. We will take our business elsewhere. I would not trust or recommend Rona Bowness or their online inventory.
I am a contractor. I spend thousands of dollars a year here and lowes. I bought a drill asked the cashier if I don't like it can I return the drill. She said yes we have a 90 day return policy. I said okay thanks. I used the drill it started over heating after screwing 12 screws. I tried to return the product the manager said I will never return this for you to call the manufacturer. She will talk to the cashier but no returns here. Do not buy any tools or anything here. I guess Home depot will get all my buisness from now on. I'm out $130 dollars but they will never get another dollar from me. Train your staff better if they don't know something tell them to say I don't know . This place is a joke
Drove all the way to this location for a lattice fence that was on sale as it showed that there were 44 in stock on the Rona website. Asked one associate and she told me they had already packed them up for the season and that it was too difficult to get them for me. I was very annoyed as it was an item that was still on sale so why would they put them away already? I ended up asking another associate, Deb, who without hesitation, helped me get the fence I wanted from their storage. It took her and the staff members working in the storage less than 5 minutes to find the fences.Thank you so much Deb for your fantastic customer service!
Disappointing visit on Sept. 3, 2022.. Went for paint, and after searching all aisles of the paint deoartment, no one was present. A visit to the Customer Service counter was met by an employee who said Hi, looked back at his computer screen…and that was it. Another employee tagging a fridge was “busy”. Decided to leave, and mentioned the shrug-offs to a cashier, whose only response was “oh, ok”. I get that stores are short staffed, however it was NOT busy. A simple acknowledgement of the client should be the most basic of customer service. In this case, three employees really couldn’t give a ****.
Came here to get wood for rotting deck pieces 2 weeks ago. It was a very specific type of wood so me and my partner asked a staff member in the lumber area who was operating a fork lift for advice on what kind of wood would work. He asked me if had a saw and as i did not have tools to cut the wood, he offered to cut the 2 pieces he recommnded which i needed to size as i had the dimensions on hand. It was really nice of him and i feel he went above and beyond. I do not think i got to see his name tag but if it helps the management, he was probably in his 40s or early 50s and had clean shaved head
Their stock system is very inaccurate we have come back 3 times this week as we keep being told the item will be in the next day. I phoned today and after being on hold for 10mins the call had called back twice to the main line and then finally just hung up on me. I went to the location and they told me oh that happens. If you know your phone hangs up on people Megan it would be a good idea to get their phone number ahead of time. I appreciated everyone looking for the item it’s just been a big waste of time for us. We try to shop local in Bowness but they make it very hard to want too.
Do not shop at Rona. I purchased a set of plumping connectors. After installing them, they still leak. I brought them back and was told they can't take them back, it's their policy that for defective parts, the customer has to contact the manufacturer to deal with it. Even though I purchased it 1 week ago. Maybe that is why all the Ronas are shouting down. Go somewhere else, save yourself some trouble is my suggestion. Sorry, I don't normally rave about a business like this, but this return policy is pathetic.
The staffs of this store are quite customer friendly. I had ordered an appliance from Bowness to be delivered in Ft McMurray. There were a few issues with the delivery date, it changed twice but the staffs worked on it and kept me informed on what was going wrong and how they were trying to fix it. This is understandable as the delivery was happening in another city and they are dependent on their trucking companies. But the store personnel were always available for working to resolve the issues.
Since I was at the store I wanted to check the status of my special orders. I was first in line and Christopher tells me "I can not check that now, I have to serve these other customers first". So much for any order of service, 10 minutes later after I have purchased my other items then he comes to me and says he will look it up. I have a call into corporate and I am waiting for Mike Murdok the store manager to call me back. Home Depot is looking like a better store after this service
We drove by the store this morning and my wife saw they had a garden centre. She returned a few minutes later and arrived one minute after eight, which is their posted opening time. She waited a few minutes and looked through the fence. She was happy with the selection and apparent quality. At about ten minutes after, she saw someone watering and asked whether it was opening. "I'll open in about fifteen minutes." My wife drove away. We won't return.
Love this location. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The boys in the lumber yard are great. Paint staff are helpful with finding the best product. Best customer service of major hardware stores. Update: Just went in and talked with Ilan he helped us so much with looking at pricing for patio furniture and told us about deals coming up. He ended up giving a discount on the last set of patio furniture since it was the floor model.
Not good experience with an order. They don't seem to be able to handle orders properly. You have to call them constantly to make sure things are on track. My order was supposed to be ready within ONE WEEK. TWO WEEKS and multiple phone calls after, my order was delivered to my home address, but some items were INCORRECT. THREE WEEKS and I am still struggling with this. I will think twice before placing and order with them again.
Thanks so much to Mike for helping us clueless folks with the conversion of a propane fire table into a natural gas table. We had called ahead to ask for suggestions and help and Mike was more than happy to ask us to pop in the store so he can take a look. He helped us undo some super tight bolts and suggested some airtight pipe goo to ensure no leaks. Fantastic customer service, Mike - you are a lifesaver!
For a small store, it has pretty much everything compared to a full sized store and I can almost always park right by the front door. I used to use the lumber yard all the time when it was totem. Assuming it hasn’t changed than its the best hands down. One thing. the til girls suck!!! Yes i want bags for the cart full of plumbing fittings i bought. They are perfect examples to promote self checkout.
The natural beauty of the place is outstanding as is the wildlife in and around the island. No TV, no internet, a small amount of phone signal you re-learn the art of conversation. I didnt want to give a review as i want it to remain unspoilt and "my island" at least for a week, but the cottages are comfortable with everything you need and they have worked hard to keep the island in great condition.
This place has some awesome employees that make going to get building supplies much much more friendly. I want to shout out to Will in the store, who helps us all the time with the complicated (to me) process of sorting through materials details, and another big shout out to Lucas in the yard, who is down to help you out to load no matter what, and find solutions to whatever the problem is!
Been coming here since the Totem days. As much as I prefer this store to big brother Lowes or HD I frequently find that the pricing does not match advertised prices and/or advertised discounts are not applied at checkout. I wish they would get their act together when it comes to pricing. Other than that this place is a like a nice throw back to the small local hardware/lumber store days.
June 23, 2018: The young men in the yard were exceptionally helpful - I thought my purchase was missing a part based on the parts list. They searched for another package the same & helped me compare parts & decipher the list & instructions. They were courteous and efficient, and they provided the best service I’ve ever had! I am so impressed - thanks for a great experience!!
Great service, nice big selection, a proper lumber yard out back, and the only big box that seems to have bulk screws and nails like an old fashioned hardware store. I honestly will go here just for that sometimes. The guy that helped me last time walked me from one end of the store to the other with several stops along the way to make sure I got everything I needed.
Good service. I am disabled, so when you get actual help, it is completely unexpected. Thank you to the nice man who cut the wood for me and carried it to my car for me. By the way. There are birds living inside the building. It sounds more like spring inside than it does outside. I hope this place is open for a very long time. Good job Rona. Keep up the good work.
This is not the best hardware store, but if its close by your house, you may as well go. Half the time I go, the staff are either unhelpful or they give me incorrect information and I end needing to return the wrong equipment in order to buy the right equipment. Sometimes I get good service though. I'm really not sure what is going on with this store...
This Rona particular is probably my favorite in the city. The Rona is Forest lawn is pretty good too, along with the Rona on Edmonton trail. Anyway, the Bowness location is my favorite, but it's a close race. I hope that Lowes keeps the small stores alive. I don't get the same shopping experience and customer service in the large stores.
I have gone here twice this summer to purchase items which were sold out everywhere else in the city (a propane fire pit and a portable A/C). It was great that they had these items, but in both cases it took staff over an hour to find them even though I knew exactly which item I needed and that here was availability at the store.
I frequent this store weekly buying contractor supplies. Today was the first day I’ve been into the store since covid. There was a line outside which is expected. The worst part was they only had 1 cashier checking people out. If they were smart they would have at least 2 to avoid 15+ people standing in line waiting to checkout.
Poor, went there after the website said they had over 100 pieces in stock of 1" x 8 " treated wood lattice. That would be really hard to miss. NOPE, NOTHING, NUDDA, ZIP, ZERO. Great Website, glad its accurate. Waste of Gas and Time!! Went to Home Depot, spent $2.00 more and got a 2' x 8' vinyl lattice better quality then wood.
Sam assisted us for picking up dirt from the back yard and the store is more cheap than Canadian tire and Home depot, there is a variety of products and the staff were friendly and cheerful, very neat and organized products in a way that you never miss anything. I hope this store has the same popularity like the others
Waited for someone to help me with paint for 15 minutes. Finally an employee walked by and GOOGLED my question. Finally make it to the checkout and they have one employee working and one taking a personal call on her cell phone. Terrible experience overall. Unless you’ve got a lot of time I wouldn’t shop here.
Thank you Chris P. for your excellent customer service Monday night. I went to get painted tinted. He was over in a flash with a big smile to help. He clearly explained the pros and cons and went on with the job as I agreed. By the way Home Depot refused to do the simple task as I requested. Thanks Michael
Always my first stop for hardware etc. Inventory is extensive. Was looking for bolts to attach a bed headboard... was a little hard to find the exact length with a head that I could use a screwdriver on. Also returned a $55 item that I bought 3 weeks earlier. Hoping the free popcorn will be back soon.
Absolutely the worst service I have ever received! , went in today to talk about a quote for cladding g and the guy at the contractors desk attempted to ignore, dismiss and over talk me , I have been in trades for 20 yrs and have never endured this kind of treatment . I will never shop here again
Staff are friendly and will help you to the best of their ability, but you have to go to the customer service desk to better assist you as there are no associate in every area. The products are minimal and most of them are the basics but necessary materials you need to fix or build something.
I was very well taken care of from looking for the product to when I had small problem all was very well taken care of. Great service all around. Service desk people, cashiers, manager and the yard people. How problems are taken care is the true measurement of great service. Great job! Thx
Curbside pickup didn't work. Nobody answered the phone. I had to go into the store, to customer service, then the cashier, then back to the lot where I had to find and load my own order. Staff not wearing masks. Only good thing is they had what I need when Lowe's and Home Depot didn't.
This is a large store with infinite products for various diy projects or more professional tasks. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to get help when required and the items on the website were actually available. Great prices. Worth a visit if you haven’t been already.
I live 4 blocks from the store so it’s hard to get away from but every time I go, I tell myself never to come again. Like others have said the selection is poor but what gets me every time is the inside staff. They are all grouchy, and unhelpful. The guys in the yard seem better.
Super courteous, directed me to exactly what I needed and super friendly at check out. I wish there were more of them around. Everything was labeled correctly and what isle it was in. No need to crisscross the store to find what you need. I was in and out in 10 minutes.
Zero stars. Waited 30 minutes to get stain tinted only to be told the manager doesn't have time. Apparently driving across town to the Edmonton Trail store was quicker than wasting for Don. And the stain was on sale what a bonus. Don, you could use a sign like this.
Just had the best experience at Rona Bowness. Staff-especially Chris !!!- were superb, knew their products and were so helpful. Customer service 10/10 and a smile and kind attitude the entire time. Why can't every shopping experience be this positive? HUGE kudos !
The man at customer service that's heavy set and has an accent, is very rude and very unprofessional. My business will be supporting Lowe's moving forward. Atleast when I spend hundreds of dollars at their location, they treat me with dignity and respect.
I rate the store at one star because of the lumber yard. their staff are lazy and don't want to help and walk away from you when you approach this has happened numerous times and will not be coming back especially now they got rid of the popcorn machine!
Best expertise and customer service in the area. The staff are experts with great advice and tips for those of us experiencing real renovations for the first time! Only recommendation is: regularly stock more of the small accessories and tools please!
My favorite hardware store. Still has that old Totem culture that RONA somehow overlooked to convert to its inferior store model. Staff knows their business and is ready to help. Always my first choice when I need tools or any building materials.
Gone down hill since the totem days. Sat in there for 45 mins on a Sunday on may long weekend waiting to get a lock keyed that I bought at this same store. It happened to be snowing so there was about 6 customers in the entire store and 7
This store was great. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Bob and all working at the service desk were so amazing. Can't say enough great things about the staff. Sure beats our awful experience at home depot. SHOP HERE!
Picked up an online order in store. Signage was not clear on where to go for pickup. Once I was directed to the right spot, the service was fast, friendly and efficient. My order was correct and the sales associate was very friendly.
Always good with the Gang there. Especially Peter & Karl in Customer Service. They have the experience & knowledge to help with all your needs. No matter how big or small. They always go the extra mile to help you find a solution...
staff are exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable here. I had to keep coming here for a couple weeks straight during some new home renos and they were so, so good every visit. consistently helpful and encouraging of your projects.
Great staff member, gentleman by the name of Carlos, he had a positive can do attitude. He helped me find the things I was looking for and knew what he was talking about, great customer service, he is a valuable team member.
Love coming to Rona and this one is no exception Great staff, lots of stuff and everything at a decent price. Just like my lawn chair and propane I just picked both work great and the lawn chair is dah bomb …
Cashiers are always nice. Took 15 minutes to find someone to help with a part. It's hit and miss inside the store, some are helpful, some are not. The guys outside are always nice if I' need to get something in the yard.
Half the time I can't find what I'm looking for, and the staff, if you can find anyone don't seem to know what's going on. The paint department never seems to have anyone working in it, our there to answer questions
It's a small store so check online if they have what you're looking for. The bonus of being small is that the staff are very efficient so I've never waited on line and I've always found what I've been looking for.
Good service . People at the order desk are nice and friendly. They do carry a whole variety of products. The stores seems small from the outside but they do have an outside yes for lumber and roofing shingles etc
Called Friday afternoon to tell us that our lumber delivery wasn’t going to make it until Monday “maybe”…. Cost us $500 in equipment rental deposits. That place in run by a bunch of bozos… stick to Home Depot.
Their store website showed 12 of the item I needed to be in stock. I showed up to purchase one. The staff were unwilling to help find the product and simply claimed it was “out of stock” without even looking.
Re the old Impatient shopper that apparently thought they were the ONLY person shopping at Rona when they went to get paint. 1) computers don't always work when you need them to, I have gone to places and
BRING BACK THE POPCORN!! been coming here since I was a kid with my dad, now I bring my sons to get building supplies. If your management could bring back the popcorn it would make it extra special!
Bought a pry bar and Tuesday and the bar snapped 2 days later on the Thursday. I went to return it to the store and they refused because "the product was damaged" I have the receipt and everything.
Super helpful paint desk. No crazy lines. Decent selection of products. Definitely more hardware than home decor but it's great if you're doing projects around the house an need items in stock.
Best customer experience I have had at any home improvement store. These guys looked after me HUGE for something I bought at a different Rona and made my life way easier. Thanks and keep it up!
The lady at the paint desk is just FANTASTIC. She took the time to try to get my paint to match, saving me from driving back and forth. Everyone else in the store is also friendly and helpful.
Small but good. Staff was friendly and it was clean. No usb cable and charger options... Run out of power on my android device and there was ABSOLUTELY nothing they could help me with.
Overall I think this place is great. You have some really excellent staff to go the extra mile and you got some staff who could care less. It's a 70/30 Mix. The 70% is the good staff.
Totem was better and now that Lowes owns it, it doesn't have what I need most of the time. I live right across the street and drive to Home Depot. Staff have always been friendly.
Went to Rona for the purpose of it was the only place around but the prices were good. They were not bad there. The store was not busy but they had what I was looking for
Nice little store. It usually has what I need. The help desk is excellent and right by the entry. I spend less time here than other stores. Big Mike is always helpful.
My favorite hardware store, formerly Totem. For a modest size store they have great inventory, staff are easy to find to get help. It has a homey atmosphere.
Hit or miss if you will find what you need. Or if it will be in stock. Came in for Screws, an iron, and some electrical items. Ended up with none of it.
Had different experiences with the staff some of them are very useful and nice where the others dont know what they are doing well i guess we all learn
The guy in the lumber yard with the long hair was awesome. He cut wood for me and was super helpful while I got dirt. They even loaded into my car.
Very awesome staff at this location able to answer questions I had and had no problem with showing me the locations for products I was looking for
Better selection here now, used to be kinda limited. Good shopping experience and i found the plumbing reducer i needed, project back on track .
A lot of empty shelves and spaces. Nice people working there, though. It would be just about perfect if they had what I needed when I needed it.
Excellent attention!! Very quickly I found what I was looking for with the help of an employee, very attentive and friendly!! Thank you Rona!!!
Bring back the popcorn machine, it was the only thing keeping me from driving up the road to the much larger and better selection home depot
Super friendly and helpful staff. The live-in rafter bird has found the birdseed section. I hope they turn a blind eye to their co-habitant!
They do not value their customers time. Waiting 25 mins to get a fork lift to load a trailer is a joke. Biggest lumber yard smallest staff
Great place. The staff here are always so helpful. They’re super friendly to your dog too! My dog just loves it when we pull up.
Good and supportive staff..store slightly bare but can't blame them as traffic seems low (at least on day I was there)
One of the employees, Ray, helped me find what I needed and was very nice. Good selection at this store.
Always friendly and helpful staff! It’s also never too busy so you always get what you need right away.
Busy times but when it's quiet, you can get in and out pretty quickly. Lumber yard in the back.
Easy to find. Parking a truck a bit challenging. Just stopped in to pick up an order.
Had what I needed, usually has everything to fulfill my building and gardening needs
Professional service. Staff were extremely helpful. I was in and out in no time.
Staff makes you feel very welcomed ,and are always available to help you.
