Edit: they finally added 4 self-checkout kiosks, which is a huge improvement, and reduces wait times dramatically, but only half the time. Now they just need to implement and enforce a "15 items or less" standard at these checkouts so that they can make a positive difference all the time. I've seen it happen frequently that people use these for large hauls, the most egregious of these instances happened a few days ago, where a lady used them for a cart FULL of items, so they had to keep entering a code to ignore the fact that she had to remove full bags in order to continue scanning. TL;DR: they added self-checkouts, but people aren't mindful and considerate on their own, so you may still want to prepare for a wait. RANDALL'S: MAKE THE SELF-CHECKOUTS "15 ITEMS OR LESS", AND ENFORCE THAT LIMIT! I want so badly to give them more stars, as they almost always have the items I go in for, they have great deals/coupons, even if some of their everyday prices are higher than HEB, and the staff are always friendly. But it's impossible to make this a quick trip. Ever. There are no self-checkouts, there are rarely more than 3-4 lanes open, and the lines are ALWAYS at least six deep when I go in. As I said before, the staff are friendly, but rarely do I encounter a member with even the slightest sense of urgency. I occasionally game the system by checking out at the Starbucks kiosk, and generally the baristas don't mind, and for their service I tip them up to $5. Apparently the barista who helped me today was less than happy to assist me in catching the bus so my frozen foods weren't cooked before they even made it to the house, so in the future I'll check to see who is working that area before committing to go in any further once I see the thirty-minute-line. Worst time of day is seven days a week, anytime before 7-8 PM.
If I could leave zero stars I would, I waited at the deli and the women helping me was extremely rude. I placed my order and she stomped around in the back, came around front of the deli- slammed the glass down. Got out the items I ordered, placed them in the back and started helping other customers who arrived after me. I asked her to please continue with my order because I had already been waiting 19 minutes at this point. She did have time to help herself to a few bites of chicken salad too! She then kept telling the other customers was sorry they had to wait while she helped me with my deli order. Numerous times she yelled to them she was sorry they had to wait while she helped me with cheese. She threw the first order on the counter. When I asked her for her name she told me I have wasted enough of her time. The manager Gwen, was kind but “karissa” is the reason I just I’ll never spent another dollar in this store. To update: while I was leaving she was outside the store smoking a cigarette yelling at me while I put my groceries in the car and returned the cart. The black women, at the deli working 7/22 around 3:30
Went to Randalls for the first time, the store was clean and quiet. Upon check out there were a couple check out lines with people but no lights on, same goes for the self-checkout lines. So I pick the shortest like with a young lady working it. I go to place an item on the belt and I hear aggressive, continuous finger snapping. I look up & its the check out girl snapping her fingers at me and then continues to say, "ma'am, MA'AM, MY LANE IS CLOSED, GO TO ANOTHER ONE " she is continueing to snap while trying to get her point across. I was on the phone but was very aware of my surroundings and even made eye contact before hand. Regardless, I was very taken back and thought it was extremely rude of her. Whats funny is there was a manager standing very close by and not a word was said. This was on 12/14, at about 7pm.
For the most part this store has always met my needs. I have shopped here for years without issue. I have been patient but there has been some kind of change in the bakery department. Quality has gone way down. For example the sizes of many items have been cut in half but they charge the same. The cakes have completely changed in taste. I feel like they added more sugar and frosting to cover up a bad cake, and I do mean they taste bad. With bread, the signature select baguette went from being a nice crispy outer layer with a super fluffy inner layer to absolute garbage. I keep making a fool of myself by buying in this department hoping this will change. Taste has gone way way down as prices rise. Whatever changes happened in this department need to be reversed or at least reviewed.
I really do like that Randall's has large, paper grocery bags. Honestly it's so much better than single use plastics bags. Good job Randall's! Also, have you noticed that card readers just don't work well at busy grocery stores? They must go through a lot of wear and tear. So, it's really nice that Randall's accepts NFC cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. Take note HEB and Central Market! You are behind. Catch up with Randall's. Somehow they're always running out of my favorite juice "100% Juice Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice". Please stick more on the shelf.
Very nice store .plenty of variety .the produce section is very healthy oriented plen ty of organic choices . Nice bakery area many different items to choose from .more variety than most heb stores .no interactions with employees .produce person seemed preoccupied and didn't seem interested in helping me even tho i circled many times looking for my items .person In charge of self checkout too involved and offered no friendly smile . Security guard on duty sat on a chair and didn't twitch a muscle .store was clean and will go back because of food choices and freshness
I gotta say... I avoided this store for decades. I always seemed to come home with spoiled meats, and the prices were crazy high. But my partner loves it and lives near one, I started going again bc of them. I now SPECIFICALLY go there for deals on meat and produce. The quality is high, and the sales are spectacular. The fact that Fetch makes Randall receipts worth 500 points every now and again is a big draw as well Great job remaking yourself Randall 's ❤️
The store was clean and although it did not have the as large of a selection as most HEBs and Walmarts, it was well stocked. The employees were helpful and friendly. I liked that the store opened early so that I could get my shopping done before most people were out and about. The only things that would keep me from putting this store on my list of regular shopping places are the prices which are very high for most items and.... well I don't live in Austin.
This place is actually surprisingly nice and very clean, they have a secret Starbucks inside!!!! And always love the bakery/ deli. It's so nice to walk into a clean easily organized place. Racist, disgusting, Walmart, the same Walmart that forces you to pay taxes for their workers healthcare and food. needs to take notes on how to stop stealing from Americans.
They have some pretty good deals sometimes so check their deals on their app. You have to scan a QR code to get the deal. That said, do NOT go to lane #1 because the code scanner didn't work and you might not get all the discounts, it becomes a pain when that happens. I do like the store well enough, the people are cool, and it's convenient to me.
Been a customer for over 30 years and will never spend another penny here or at their pump EVER. Not after how they acted today. Our entire family is done with Randall’s now. EDIT: My experience was NOT at the fuel station. Learn to read. We tried to speak with management and employees hung up on us repeatedly.
Wow they made it easy to fill several prescriptions that were for 2 year (365 days). They did not question my script and just filled out what was requested versus HEB that refused to allow my doctor to give me more than 90 days. I live in Brazil and only come once a year. Thanks for the awesome service.
I go here for the chicken salad in the deli. It is worth driving a mile or so out of the way. The best I've ever had! Ok always end up witha basket full of other items because they always have good everyday prices and great sales. The check out lines always move fast and the staff is friendly.
Only Randall's that is close to me. It's small but I love it. Sometimes the sales/prices are better than HEB. Plus they have a Starbucks. Every one who also works here is friendly and the customer service is great. Never had a bad experience at this location.
The store is getting worst with time. I went to use the bathroom during my lunch. No employee had the code to open the bathroom. I had to go somewhere else. I hope the store opens the restrooms to every body especially during the holidays when its very busy.
Don't come here to drop off a UPS or FedEx package. Staff is off-putting and not very helpful as it relates to taking care of your packages. One minor inconvenience, and they'll just tell you to take it to a real UPS/FedEx store. Don't waste your time
deals get you in the door but they're always sold out so you don't save anything and once you're in the store everything not advertised as a deal is way more expensive than HEB/Sprouts/CentralMarket. and their online ordering here is predatory
A little more expensive than the regular grocery stores but all together worth it for maybe not every single time shopping but when I need special things or if you feel like spending a little bit extra it's a lot quicker than going to the
Only complaint would be the occasional bakery item. Sometimes a little sweet for my tastes but the cheesecake is worthy. Great deals if you have a card and it is always worth the time to get a free one. Flagship on beecaves is still the
I've been going to Randall's for over 10 years. It's nice and clean, they have a great bakery section and the staff is very friendly. It's a great place to shop groceries if you don't want to go to the other crowded grocery stores.
Waited more than anyone should for the barista to finish pouring ONE cup of brewed coffee. I stood for a couple minutes with their back turned. Asked if everything alright, quick reply Yes. No turn, No hello.. Seriously randalls??
I think the staff at this store does their best. It's in a rough area and they have a lot of homeless people around. However, I find this store to be pleasant and the prices are pretty good. A wide selection and helpful people.
I really enjoyed my shopping experience at this location. The store was clean and NOT crowded. Fellow shoppers were courteous. According to their circular, if I used their App I could save money. I added
1st time trying their beef pot pie & woowwwwwww it's so filling, big serving, and very flavorful!!! Absolutely love their hot & cold foods & bakery items. This is my go-to for the best cakes in Austin!!
I go here only when I need convenience as their prices are in line with that type of store. The folks are friendly enough and the usually have what I am in need of. Just be ready to pay more.
Kelly was extremely rude and passive aggressive after I waited 30 minutes for a drive up order. She needs an attitude check ASAP - I am disturbed with her behavior as an employee
This store is not let customer use the bathroom anymore? Been customer for long time. This was very suprising to me. Is there a good reason why the the bathrooms were closed?
Super clean store. Very friendly staff. I am impressed with their produce department. So clean and organized. I couldn't set boundaries. I loaded up my cart. I love Randalls
Great customer service! That one cashier "from the country" always keeping us on our toes and making sure we don't sleep on any sweet deals!! (3 for 2 sliced cheese!!!) :)
One of the higher priced groceries in town… definitely higher than H‑E‑B. The saving grace of Randall’s is it’s weekly sales. That are usually pretty good lost leaders…
Great store some great prices on some stuff and not so much on others. Get their reward card it will save you money for sure. They also have great sales ads too.
So they had these tags in front of the product and said it was wrong tag. Be careful they really are cheating us at this store. They have no clue
Inside the store is nice. The employees are doing great work. My issue is with the general upkeep of the community. There are a lot of people
The floral department was awesome. They did 2 fresh bouquets in a short amount of time for funeral service in the morning. Thank you so much!
Love the cakes from their bakery. Their cakes are nicely decorated and above all they were delicious. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
My checker was super nice but that store has gone downhill since I was last there at least a year ago. It was absolutely disgusting.
I love shopping at Randall, it's clean, friendly employees, assortment of items. Their pies are awesomely delicious assortment.
My husband picked out some fresh flowers from this location. They were absolutely beautiful. Feb 2022
They are not honoring shelf prices. Look before you pay. Since they are closing they don't care
Google maps keeps taking me here instead of my actual intended destinations
