Love this park, great moss pathways, lots of playgrounds, massive dog park, Has an 18 hole disc golf course, brings you back on the 9th hole of you only want to play half a game, be aware of which basket you throw at sometimes both will be out there. Several walking paths that loop around, if you did every single one at a decent pace, it would be about 4 hours, the longer individual paths will take you about an 45minutes - 1.5 hours depending on walking speed, there are several 30 minute walking paths. There's also a community center, but ive never interacted with it. They also have covered pavilions about 20x30 space, that have, what i assume are fake chimneys, as there are no fireplaces, I just think it's interesting, like what's the purpose?
Came here to do the Robinson Rockhouse Ruins hike. Trails are well marked. Most of this hike is in the shade, which was nice on a hot day. The visitor center wasn't open yet, so make sure you check the hours. About a mile in and a mile out... fairly flat, but there were some muddy spots and you'll need to watch your step for the tree roots (I did the hike in Birkenstocks so it's pretty easy). You'll have to look up the history of the ruins on your own, but it's a cool thing to see and worth the short trek. Love the little placards with info about the wildlife (like how the frogs sound like rubber bands... super cool to hear and know what it is from the info they provide). You can also help track the creek's changes.
We enjoyed our family reunion at the park. It was well kept, clean and the children loved the play area.
Restrooms
There were restrooms nearby. There was also a small shop with snack ans drinks.
Dog-friendliness
I saw several dogs enjoying playing. There were several on the walking trail. The owners were considerate and cleaned up after their pets.
Picnic area
The grill was small, but we were able to cook hotdogs and hamburgers. The area was clean and the people using the areas were considerate of others and cleaned up behind themselves. There is a water pump next to the shelter and most of the area was fairly level. Our senior family members did not have to walk far to get to the shelter.
Saw almost all people without masks during this covid19 pandemic. There were only a few people wearing masks. Saw lots of people not social distancing. Park is nice although the 2 lakes had muddy water and did not look pretty. Some of the facilities need some maintenance. Did see one lady busy on her phone letting her dog run around without the leash which was bothering some people. This was in spite of the clearly posted signs that said to leash dogs. Hope to go back again for a better experience in the future.
We came for the disc golf course. It was sort-of fun, but definitely not built for accessibility. We had a hard time maneuvering our stroller through the course, and ended up quitting about 4 holes in. The other players were very nice and courteous and I'm sure if we had been a little more equipped for adventure it would have been a great time. (There's lots of deep trenches and some water near at least one hole, so you may lose a disc or find yourself stomping through some natural areas to retrieve it.)
Beautiful place to visit. Very peaceful and clean. Lots of walking trails and spots to just sit and take in nature's beauty. Great place to bring the entire family. I very much enjoyed my visit to this place and I definitely plan on returning. I would recommend Reedy Creek Park to anyone who wants to take a day out with family and/or friends to enjoy the fresh air and everything beautiful nature has to offer. Also a great place to bring your dog for a day out as well
This park has a lake, bbq grills, picnic benches, ball fields, walking trails and playgrounds! It's a great park for a family day at the park or to get some vitamin D and a great place to get your steps in. It's scenic and there's plenty of parking. There is even a Dog park! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to spend some time at the park.
Picnic area
Benches abd tables and grill pits. There are covered seating areas as well.
We had an early afternoon off from school, so since my 5-year-old granddaughter had never been to this neighborhood park, I decided to take her. This park playground is well-kept and has a nice variety of equipment to keep young ones busy. Although we didn't use them on the day we visited, there are also other areas for different interests - soccer field, softball field, basketball hoops, covered picnic area and more.
This park has a number of trails. Clearly marked with colors. It has small trails and longer trails. Tight trails with tree trucks and rocks and trails that are wide and gravel with no trunks. Its a real joy if you like walking or running in woods and along ponds. No bike are allowed. I recommend starting at back of park with preserve center. Other activities we saw were pavilions, basketball courts and dog park.
Always a pleasure visiting here. Dragonfly pond trail is amazing. Great for families wishing to get some outdoor time together—two playgrounds and plenty of space for kids to run around after a hike/walk. Great activity offerings for kids and the nature center is lots of fun.
Restrooms
Restrooms are clean and pretty easily accessible at the center or around the park—you just have to follow the map.
Very very beautiful park, full of greenary, beautiful play ground, river with fish to catch. Very good supportive people. Totally excellent
Playground
It is super playground, surrounded by lush green forest
Dog-friendliness
Separate area for dogs
Picnic area
Cool, peaceful, surrounded by very class coniferous forest
Truly a beautiful Park, many athletic fields and trails as well as multiple playgrounds I believe. Personally was here for the disc golf course and found it to be very well kept and a very enjoyable track to play. I feel like I'm always saying this about the parks in Mecklenburg County but this is another five-star offering
One of the best parks in Charlotte that I know of. It's a lot bigger than it looks, and has an excellent system of walking trails. Also has playgrounds, a dog park, I believe fishing and camping (though I haven't done those, just think I've seen signs for them, so you'd need to verify those first), and a nature center.
This park has trails that are super fun to walk on, a nature center with live animals inside and so many cool activities, and a playground that even adults can enjoy. I really love this place because it allows my fiance and I to be a part of nature while we're stuck in the city of Charlotte. Can't recommend them enough
I decided to have a picnic in the park for my brunch group. I wanted a park that was not too busy and kind of secluded. This was the perfect location. Everything turned out great. Of course there were parts of the park that was busy but we were more by the lake in the back. I love this park and will utilize again.
Awesome place! Lot of beautiful trails, long trees, and playgrounds for kids. Just make sure you know the out of the trails if you go with kids :). I was a bit worried to get out easily from the trail as it was getting darker! Fortunately I took the correct turn. If I missed that turn I had to walk a lot!
Love this playground for my daughter. Lots of shade and the equipment is well kept. They also have two options for baby swings which is a plus. Great place for family BBQ too! Park is huge.. still learning my way through the different trails and areas, but definitely a great park to go to!
This was a nice long weekend trip. They have some fantastic restaurants, great lodging and some good day hikes. If you like to bike they can easily accommodate you. This is a fun town with good lodging. The Reddy Creek area downtown was a place we spent a half day just wandering around
Awesome park! Lots of trails for walking. Great for connecting with natural. Easy access. There is also a nature preserve that I will go back and visit.
Dog-friendliness
There is a Doggy Park.
Picnic area
Several picnic areas large and small are throughout the park.
Very nice park! Plenty of space, plenty of parking, plenty of pavilions as well. Theres a frisbee golf course and it looked like it was being used by a lot of players so id imagine it's a good one. There is also one of those NFL/Panthers obstacle course things as well.
The nature center is a great place for kids to go and check out some native wildlife. The park has beautiful water fountains/ponds. The trails that lead to the lake are easy. There is so much here for everyone to do. They have basketball courts and a playground too.
Great park with few different areas to enjoy. Kiddie park areas, excellent hiking or jogging trails. There are no official bigger trails, however I did a few laps around the park roads and it is a rigorous workout with some steep hills to get the heart rate up.
This is a great place for a family gathering! The picnic area and rest rooms are clean and accessible! There is adequate parking. The only drawback is that the play area is a little far away from the picnic area. Adults will be needed to supervise children.
Beautiful parks with numerous opportunities for a nature walk, picnic, or day at the park. Top it off with activities at the nature center and what else could you ask for. Thank you Mecklenburg County for maintaining such a great community resource
Love this park!! BEAUTIFUL trails for different lengths. You can easily pick 1 mile or 4 mile walk. Our pup Sophie loves these trails, the dog park and meeting up with her friends for long morning walks on the weekends. A hidden gem of Charlotte!
The park was really nice. Located in area where trees shadowed the shelter. Shelter, grill was very clean. Large area for many group activities. Shelter had electricity. Someone from the grounds crew came by to ensure everything was going good.
Reedy Creek is our favorite park in the area. It has multiple trails, a playground, fields, and tons to explore. Our favorites are the ruins. Today we explored the Big Oak trail. We'll be back over and over! Also, disk golf course is great.
Humming bird week was very informative. The staff and volunteers were so friendly and knowledgeable. It happens near the end of August each year. If you love nature, go check out Reed Creek or even if you just want a nice family hike
Quiet and calm on a tuesday morning, very relaxing. Took some trails through the woods, that are very well marked. There were a lot of turtles bathing in the sun. Really a nice place to spend a view hours alone or with the family.
Beautiful park with well taken care of trails... easy to get through a couple of miles! Offers views of several ponds, rock house ruins, playground, etc. as well as several parking areas to leave your car and adventure! …
One of the nicest parks in Mecklenburg county is completely ruined by the single entrance and exit. The ability to make any sort of turned out of the park is hindered by speeding traffic from both directions on Rocky River Road.
It is my favorite park in Charlotte, It is conected to RC Natural Preserve, with a total of 927 Acres. IT has 10 miles of hiking, a good size dog park, Nature center, and much more. It is a wonderful place family and friends.
Great place to hike and so close to Charlotte. It has become one of my favorite places to go hiking.

We had an event at shelter #3. The facility is very nice & accommodating. The only thing that gave us an issue was the lack of cell tower access. No matter what service very few had more than 2 bars …
I been taking my kids there for many years . beautiful park. The park has different sections such as basketball , baseball and playground You can walk around the park has a walk area and a frisbee sections.
One of my favorite Parks in Charlotte to go to! There's something for everyone, from a nice hike along a scenic trail, various athletic fields, or hidden away ruins, there's so much to choose from.
We checked out all three playgrounds and the winner for us was the Panthers Ninja course Absolutely loved it. There was only one set of bathrooms available, but not a problem. They were clean.
Great park, got a little bit of everything. From a lake to disc golf to playgrounds and dog parks. I personally run about 10 miles a week here. Great dirt trails for running or hiking.
nice place except that the map sends you to another side where there is no entrance. I thought it had only happened to me but there were no other people who said the same thing.
We love to play cricket here… but the problem here is with mosquitoes. Infection will be there on the skin for a week or more
Playground
We like to play cricket here
Awesome hiking trails. Great for families. Pet friendly. Very clean. The nature center was a treat. This park gives you the opportunity to get lost in nature for hours!
It was my first visit to this park. Its really nice if you want to have a gathering, walk your dog or play Frisbee golf. I just walked the trails and i enjoyed myself
In case anyone is confused about the hours of reedy creek like me - the park is open sunrise to sunset. The nature center is open 9-5 mon to sat and 1-5 on Sunday.
Nice huge park for the dogs to run and play. Wooded walking trails and benches everywhere. There are a lot of dogs here which is really good for them. Clean park.
Took my granddaughters on their first nature walk! It was great watching them tackle the trails and exercise equipment. We had a fantastic and amazing time!
Great course. Wooded but not too technical, good mix of L2R's/R2L's. 5 stars would definitely play again.
Dog-friendliness
Public park, dog friendly
Amazing place for athletes equipped Gauntlet run and plenty of trails to walk. Along the trails you'll find disc golf, Nature Museum and fishing platform!
Very big and nicely maintained park. Lots of shelters for the picnic and small get together or parties. Nice play area for the kids to enjoy the fun.
Enjoy the little trails. For some reason, I thought they were going to be longer and torture. I came to find out there's a trail for all ages, lol.
Love our outside adventures! Playgrounds, basketball courts, fishing, hiking trails, dog parks and more. This place has everything for everyone!
Beautiful natural and historic park with amazing nature programs. They are always making the park nicer and I appreciate all the free programs.

It was a really nice park. The pavilion we used for our family reunion was great! It had everything we needed and then some.
Very nice hiking trails and small kids playground as well. We even saw two deers in the evening by the road. Kids loved it.
Nice quiet spot in the suburbs of Charlotte. Shady with picnic tables and bbq pits, trails and sports grounds.
I enjoy coming here and I love walking my dog along the many paths. The scenery is amazing and so refreshing.
Good place for children as well as adults. Children can enjoy at park and long trails are good for joggers.
Good bass fishing in the early am. Caught these in June 2023 on spinners ,rubber worms, and a jitterbug.
Lovely place, very family oriented! Great for sports, bike riding, walks on the trail and much more !
Great park for kids. Trails are great for all. Ponds are great for fishing. A go to spot for me.
