Too bad there isn't an option to give 0 stars. AVOID REXALL AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU NEED A CHOCOLATE BAR OR SOME MASCARA. I went in yesterday to pick up medication I had filled the day before and was informed that my DAILY seizure medication wasn't available and they didn't have any because the manufacturer wasn't making any. Nobody thought it prudent to inform me of this either a) when I was in 10 days previous to fill it that there was a shortage, or b) called me in the 24 hours between when I submitted my refills and when I went in to pick up so I could make some alternate arrangements. The best they could do was tell me to 'call around to another pharmacy and see if they have any'. I had ONE pill left. Quitting this medication cold turkey can cause you to have severe or life threatening seizures... But I guess Rexall doesn't either know about that or care about it. For a national pharmacy chain to allow this to happen is completely and totally unacceptable. YOU HAVE ONE JOB - MEDICATION. When they filled my 10 pills 11 days ago, they MUST have known there was a shortage (which is why I didn't get 30), but nobody said anything to me, or wrote anything on either the packaging or the bag. Completely and totally unacceptable. Thankfully Shoppers Drug Mart across the road not only had the medication, but gave me 60 days worth. I will be immediately switching my medications over to Shoppers Drug Mart and avoiding this Rexall at all costs.... unless I need a chocolate bar or some mascara... but even then... I'll likely give my business to Shoppers.
Will never step foot in this place again. Arrived at pharmacy with my 84 year old mother-in-law who was now eligible as per Ontario Public Health for her 5th COVID booster/vaccine - she was already on their waiting list but had not received a call/email to book. The very rude receptionist and the young pharmacist said she had to wait 6 months, and in her case that was 1 month away - I showed them the email she received from Public Health that confirmed she was eligible because she was over 65 and that they "strongly recommended she be vaccinated immediately". They flatly refused to vaccinate her or book her for an upcoming appointment, even though they confirmed having the vaccine, had openings and there was not a single person waiting or being served. They told me she could come back the following Monday as that is their walk-in day - I clearly pointed out to them that she was frail, had difficulty walking and could not come back on walk-in day in the "hopes" of being vaccinated. They were rude (not the first time), replied that is not how they worked and turned their backs on us ... it was shameful and to think they are there to help and assist people with medical needs. On a positive note, we returned home and I added her to the waiting list at the Ottawa Rexall on Sparks Street (a long distance from her home) and she received an immediate response and was vaccinated the next day.
By far the worst Rexall I have been to in the city. Pharmacy staff were extremely rude and dismissive, acting as if they were impatient and had much better things to get back to than to provide me with service. After all this, when I came to collect my prescription, I was met with the same low- quality of service, and the woman serving me walked away after I had paid- without offering me a receipt, or a consultation with the pharmacist showing me how the medication was to be administered. After another few minutes of waiting, a male pharmacist came to assist me and this interaction was even worse. When I asked for my receipt, and directions how to use the medication, I had stated that I had not used the medication before. To this, he made a face and laughed, asking “really?” Because for whatever reason he did not believe me… After a painfully long ordeal, I was able to receive direction on how to use my medication, but the experience left me feeling ashamed and belittled. This is not how any one should be feeling after collecting medication and leaving a pharmacy. Absolutely APPALLING service.
Great staff. Go out of their way to help and answer questions. They stop what they're doing and take the time. No problems receiving meds. Occasionally they do get very busy and backed up, but the service is worth it. No pharmacy is perfect. Update. Summer 2021 Honeymoon period ended very quickly. I'm changing my review. It was so bad I had to switch pharmacies . - they read multiple scripts wrong and didn't count/give appropriate medication. Physician had to call multiple times to clear up. - new woman pharmasits would get right into my face and starts creaming at me that I'm trying to fight her. Because I said they forgot a medication. - I'm on a above average number of meds, and they ALLWAYS forget one or two medications. - loose physician scripts/faxes. - unable to disperse all meds at one time. Constantly calling me in one to two times a week to grab meds as they can not organize it to be given all at once. -most staff look like deer caught in the headlights when asked a question. I gave them a year, given constant promises of improvement and nothing ever changed, just got worse
I attended the Rexall pharmacy in Carlingwood mall to receive flu shots for myself and my son who is seven. My son was very anxious and fearful about getting a needle. I contacted the store in the morning to advise we would be coming in and let them know he would be very anxious. They took note of it and said they would let the pharmacist know. I appreciated that. On my arrival, the staff there could see my son was anxious and made sure we were taken care of as promptly as possible. I would like to extend my thanks, appreciation and recognition to your newly graduated pharmacist Hersey. He was the only pharmacist on duty at that time and I'm sure he must have been feeling pressured. Despite this, he was extremely patient and supportive with my son's anxiety and really helped him get through it--and receive his flu shot successfully. I am impressed to see such patience and understanding for a child from such a young man who has only recently started out in his career. I commend him. Thank you Hersey and to the team at Rexall Carlingwood.
I had to stop using this pharmacy. I take dessicated thyroid, which they don't seem to approve of. Almost every single time I went in to pick up my prescription, it would usually not be ready, or not even ordered like they told me. They also never told me when it was backordered, which unfortunately it is often. They constantly try to suggest that I ask my doctor about Synthroid, which is a medication that doesn't work for me. This is NOT their place, they are not the prescribing doctor. Their job is to fill the prescription, not ask questions, and consult about the details of the medication IF needed. They are extremely rude, slow and unhelpful. I now go across the street to the Shoppers, the owner there is really nice.
Called in an automated telephone prescription on a Tuesday, message advised that I would be contacted when ready. On Friday I decided to follow up and was told by a very rude person that Appletree doctors don’t fax/renew prescriptions and that it wasn’t Rexall’s responsibility to advise patients of this, so after having waited 4 days for a notification, I am informed that Rexall had no intention of advising that the prescription could not be refilled without seeing another doctor. Every interaction with the staff at this pharmacy has been abysmal. As other reviewers have recommended go to the Shoppers Drugmart across the street instead or any other pharmacy period.
We've been using them for three years and during that time they have lost prescriptions, given us someone elses prescription (I actually took a pill not prescribed to me at night not looking at the name!), been rude to us when we assured them that they called us to pick something up that they cannot seem to find and the list goes on. I spoke to the manager and she conceded that they were having issues and asked me to stay on as a customer and that they were replacing some staff. Despite this, they continue to be the most disorganized and inept drug store we have ever encountered. Shame on us for not moving on more quickly!
Was just here to get the vaccine, staffs are weird as hell, made me feel like I am intruding their privacy or something. Male pharmacist could not spare 30 seconds of his life to stop joking with the other staffs, and draw the vaccine properly. Man literally sitting at the front desk laughing with the ampoule on his hand. The injection was fast, and no bandage was offered, instead with the vibe of "okay, we're done here, get out so I can be back laughing". I do not mean any hate, but at least do your job right. It is actually pretty easy to be nice. These people just simply don't care.
This review is for the pharmacy and it’s staff, not the retail portion. I have been going to this pharmacy for two years now after a move. Most of the staff are dismissive, unhelpful, rude, and absolutely treat you like a hideous chore they can’t wait to be done with. Truly the worst customer service I’ve experienced at a pharmacy in my entire adult life. It’s exceptionally shocking. All the reviews you read here are true. Avoid this place. Shoppers at Fairlawn has been lovely when I’ve had questions about supplements and such, so I will very likely transfer there.
As a matter of practice, I usually refrain from leaving negative reviews. Everyone has bad days and a business shouldn't be penalized for one incident. This Rexall Pharmacy is in no uncertain terms the WORST! I was willing to overlook the discourteous, unprofessional conduct of the staff (it is a busy pharmacy); however, errors concerning medication are unacceptable. This Pharmacy is atrocious and should be avoided. The abundance of negative reviews is a statement itself. The negative reviews are accurate as I've experienced similar incidents.
Pharmacy is awful. It took forever, they are clearly understaffed and stretched very thin which explains why they are so rude and short with people. They screwed up my prescription giving me only 7 days worth of meds instead of 10. Left for vacation before I realised and since I was out of he country when I realised, I couldn't go back to get the rest and the virus ended up coming back (and ruining the last few days of my vacation). My husband had a prescription filled there once too and it was also screwed up. I wouldn't recommend at all.
I use the Rexall entrance to get into the mall. Turns out they shut down the entrance until 9:30am so there's an hour and a half of Rexall and mall being open that they do not allow access to the mall. I usually buy something when I pass through but I'm going to change my decision on doing that in the future. Rather than just letting me pass through, a staff member told me to go around. Turns out it was shut down because of covid. Covid is no longer an issue but regardless television be a reason to shut down them all entrance
The service from this store is terrible. I bought an Amazon gift card from this store which could not be redeemed on the Amazon website. I went back to this store for help. In the beginning, the store manager told us that they will handle this issue and we will get a response in 3 to 5 days. However, we didn't get any answer from this store even after 12 days now. We bought the product from the store. Now the product has defects, and they keep saying it is not their problem. It makes me so frustrated.
The pharmacy staff are rude. Keep you waiting for a long time. At 20 mins past my vaccine appointment they called the person who was first on the list who had been waiting almost a half hour. They have given me other peoples medications in the past. They activley ignore people. Especially the staff that were on today (07/16/21). Edit to mention that the people who were working the pharmacy counter were not wearing their masks properly.
Just went to go pick up something quickly and this miserable old woman at the cash had a bowl of spitballs and when I asked her what it was she aggressively pulled it away and said “THAT’s mine.” Will not be shopping here if I see her working she’s violent and rude. Then couldn’t get me out quick enough. Had she said nothing or told me politely would have been a different story. Unsanitary for a pharmacy and bad service.
Please pay extra attention to your fresh/dairy items from this store. Bought this on Sunday for my child. Fortunately, staff was understanding and exchanged the item right away. Shocked to see store is Selling spoiled milk even though it is not expired yet. Milk i bought from Costco 2 weeks ago is still fresh and doesnt curdle like this. Store needs to check their refrigerators
Recall is warm and safe place to get medicine I love how I am respected there Staff front and back treat me nicely I love how things I need are on sale Never had an issue They are great to tell me when I need to renew my meds and what time line Thanks rexall For being there for my daily life ❤️❤️
Service in cosmetics was ok but cashier was flustered and not well trained. Didn't let me complete my order and told me that she was too busy to add more items. Completed the bill and didn't ask for my points card. I was buying more lottery tickets but she said it was too late because there was someone waiting behind me.
A terrible pharmacy. They had only 1 person working on Dec.20 in the evening. My hospital sent an order for a prescription in the afternoon. I arrived at 7:20 and after waiting for 10 minutes was told I had to wait 30 more minutes. Plus people were showing and interrupted him. Extremely poor management.
Worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. Been a customer for 5 years and they're consistently slow, rude, lose prescriptions that have been filled and put in the drawer, won't answer the phone and leave you standing at the counter for 15 minutes waiting for any service at all.
You put an item on sale and you advertise in the flyer and the price tag on the shelf that show a sale, but you never have any to sell for the whole period of the sale, and the staff keep saying the truck is coming in tomorrow daily. What is the point. ( very misleading)
Don't bother going. Asking for quick advice was painful. Couldn't answer 'which one do you recommend.' Don't give me two and tell me they work, though differently, then walk away. I put them back an am going to the next pharmacy across the street.
The pharmacy not good; service is slow. They seem to be understaffed and the staff changes frequently.. The owner of the pharmacy is a mystery; it is not available anywhere, so if you have a problem you have to speak to the people that caused it.
Only having had good experiences here to report on, perhaps the only negative thing is the location of their side door. It on the opposite side of the malls transit area, so getting to it after-mall hours is a bit of a pain.
Extremly very bad custumer service by Ann she waist people's time she don't know the prices and require help for every single item she need a lots of training or let her go..... she is a very bad influence for the business.
Literally the worst pharmacists. Period. Three prescriptions in a row, I have gone to pick up my prescription, and all three times it has not been ready and I have had to come back a second time. No explanation given.
I had a great experience in this drug store, the two pharmacist Nesrine and Navroop spent enough time explaining about my medication and answering all my questions, glad this pharmacy is closed to my house!
Absolutely terrible service. Never going there again, pharmacist is aweful, waited 3 hours for prescription and still didn't receive it had to wait til next day.
This is regarding the staff. Rude and useless. Treats as if they are doing favor by being there. Shoppers right in front of mall is much better place to go.
Rose Beautician- She gave me an excellent service with packing my gifts and choosing right set for my sister. Thanks to her and her outstanding service. :)
They have a great selection of vitamins in the back and the cashiers are friendly, but sometimes the wait time for prescriptions can be timely.
Sheesh, I get more timely service picking up new plates at the MTO. For gosh sakes put another body behind the pharmacy counter!
Worst service ever. Ignore you at the pharmacist counter and act like you’re disturbing them. Sorry to ask you to do your job.
Pharmacist walks around not wearing a mask. Deeply frustrating, and unprofessional given these times. Have some respect!
Good selection of products but overall service has gone down since Rexall sold to a US company (who kept the name)
2.2 stars is not surprising after the experience I had today. This place is the worst place to shop, period.
A lot of choice of products, some sales with good prices. Pharmacy section is excellent and fast.
Service isn't great. No one working there looks happy or smiles. It's very sad.
Excellent professional service! Thank you. You are the best ...Cheers. …
Just believe those one star comments, this store use rude as their culture
Been there for over 3 yrs now & never really had a problem with them! :)
