"My go-to drug store"
I have popped in a few times and personally experience good service. However, tonight around 8:30 I witnessed something that disturbed me. As I was walking toward the checkout line, I saw who appeared to be the manager (middle aged white man) run after a customer (young black man) who proceeded to get in line. The manager and customer were yelling back and forth and both were angry. The young guy was holding a pair of shoes (his own; he was also wearing shoes) which had some merchandise in it. The manager was yelling that he could see that the customer was hiding merchandise in his shoes. The customer explained he was just carrying the merchandise in his shoes and he was now in line to pay. He opened his wallet to show his ID and other cards and asked why the manager thought he couldn’t pay. The manager yelled that he knew what he was doing. The customer got even angrier and said he didn’t want to buy from the store anymore. He left angrily. This looked like racial profiling to me. I put things in my pockets or bags while shopping if I’m trying to carry multiple items and I didn’t grab a basket (as this young man did with his shoes). But I, a young white person, am never accosted in this way. I don’t see why this young man had to be treated this way when he wasn’t trying to run out the door and he hadn’t even reached the checkout line! If the manager truly just confronted him because he put merchandise in the shoes he was carrying, that’s pretty blatant. Unsure how frequently this occurs at this location but I have contacted corporate.
you’re kind of on your own here but especially since the remodel this store offers everything one would need in their neighborhood including a better grocery selection than bristol farms in many cases and replaces my need for a beauty supply. love the staff especially clarissa, eileen and james and the countless others with whom i’ve become friendly over the years. safety was handled very well in the darkest pandemic days. the only issue is that i no longer go to this store late at night; 11pm was a normal time for me to visit previously but due to the store’s lack of hired security (NOT an increase in crime) they began closing the SW corner door hours before they used to. proximity to the bus stop is likely the reason but if this store knew or cared how much business they lose to CVS or elsewhere due to the lack of signage... for years they have trusted that people will understand why there is a bollard blocking a doorway reading “24 hours.” the parking lot is dangerous to pedestrians and drivers alike both in its ancient design (because it is) and safety. please use extreme caution taking the back stairs at night especially as they are a fall risk waiting to happen. update: don’t frequently use the pharmacy but it’s been good in the past. my experience filling a prescription today was enough to stay with cvs forever. platinum woman - you were wrong and unapologetic and wasted my time. never again.
I would give 0 stars if i could! They are completely unethical. My doctor faxed over a prescription for pain medication (which you are allowed to do now) almost a month ago. When I called to see if it was ready, the pharmacy said they were out of stock and more should be in Thursday. I called back Thursday, still out of stock, check next Thursday. I kept calling back and today they told me again, "Maybe next Thursday, maybe in a few weeks, it could be months." The woman on the phone who claimed to be the pharmacist said there were absolutely no pills in stock now. Finally I had my doctor call to transfer it to another pharmacy, and low and behold, they suddenly had it in stock! When I went to pick it up, (on crutches with a foot fracture,) I complained to the male pharmacist who said that it needed to be verified before filling it. They had almost a month to verify it with the doctor, it should have been done as soon as they received it and they out and out LIED each time saying they didn't have it in stock! Contacting the Better Business bureau about them. Also, the check-out person was awful in the main store, when I was checking out, it said click here to get an extra $2.00 off, before I had a chance, the check-out guy clicked ignore, so I lost out on the extra savings.
Definitely really bad service! I very seldom go to any Rite Aid store nowadays following continuous horrible experiences at the Rite Aid on Market/4th in SF. Regardless how long ago that was, I made it a point to very seldom go to Rite Aid. I've stopped by here a few times within the last few years and every time, the service is unbearable. To say Rite Aid sucks is like saying the ocean is damp!!! I used to come here quite often 25 years ago when it was a Thrifty PayLess. It wasn't as orderly or clean inside back then, but the service was always good. Nowadays, I just purchase a lot of my stuff online via Amazon, Instacart, etc. I just can't handle the horrible service that seems to have become acceptable and standard protocol today.
My go-to drug store. Even though there's drugstore closer to my home, Rite Aid consistenly has the cheapest prices and it's the only 24-hour drugstore in West Hollywood. And this location has an old school Thrifty's ice cream counter, from back in the day when Rite Aid was known as Thrifty's and its ice cream was all the rage. Only complaint is the unhoused individuals and panhandlers sometimes leave a bunch of garbage near the bus stops outside, both on Sunset and Fairfax. Rite Aid should do a better job of cleaning up the sidewalks bextdoor, to protect their brand and imagine. Urban blight is never a good look. The store is clean, safe, and bright inside tho.
Bad customer service. They never call after your doctor calls in a prescription so you must guess on when it's ready and still usually wait for them to fill it. My doctor recently called in a prescription for an item they don't have in stock. I had to go in person for them to decide to order it versus automatically ordering it when my doctor prescribed it. They gave me the price and pickup time. I returned on that day and they said they couldn't order it. They had three opportunities to call me and tell me they couldn't order it and they wasted my time to have to go in person twice.
I shop almost exclusively at this Rite Aid at this point. I mostly shop here because of how friendly one of the staffers, Carrie, is to me. I live in the neighborhood and I have started frequenting this Rite Aid quite a lot. It is convenient because of how close it is to me and the fact that it is open 24 hours. It is always very clean and they do a good job of keeping vagrants from harassing customers. I buy all of the normal drug store things here, but I also purchase my cats food here when the delivery is late. My cat is my best friend so I am very picky about what he eats.
I would like to say a big thank you to Liz if I remember her name correctly. She is the store manager and was able to assist me with finding an item that I was looking for, unfortunately the item was out at the time. Liz went above and beyond her duties and helped me by checking to see if a neighboring store had the item I was in need off. Liz left and came back after a short while and told me to go to another store and that they would have it at the register for me. Thank you for such excellent customer service. I would give you 10 stars but I’m limited to 5
I watched a woman help out a poor man who was maced in the parking lot of this store the other night. He was screaming he needed Eye wash and cigarettes and she very calmly helped him while waiting for police. One of the rite aid delivery drivers came out to offer a bottle of water, which I thought was great. Unfortunately, this driver’s vehicle was hit by a drunk driver in that same parking lot around the same time. It was all a bit chaotic but things got sorted out and I was able to get my circus peanuts and gratorade.
Their phone system is broken. Sometimes you just get a dial tone when you call, other times it loops you over and over back to the main directory. This has been an issue for months. Considering the phone is how you interact with the pharmacy, this makes it impossible to get in contact with them even if your request is time-sensitive. Until this problem is fixed, do yourself a favor and fill your prescriptions at a different Rite Aid.
The staff are so incredibly patient and professional. I always shop here due to the friendly environment. They make me feel right at home without being overbearing. I shop here every time I need something that you carry because they have the items I need and is so convenient that I live around the corner. It’s nice not having to drive somewhere for a few items, which I would do if they didn’t provide such stellar service.
It is often impossible to get someone on the phone from the pharmacy. They are very busy and appear to be under-staffed. Forget running a quick errand to pick up your prescription during your lunch hour (the wait is long). To their credit, the pharmacist is a nice guy, but, again, the time it takes to call-in and/or pick up your medication is very time-consuming. Also, the store is open 24-hours. The pharmacy is not.
Absolutely the worst pharmacy ever. Doctor called for prescription 2 hours before so I have my antibiotic and pain meds ready after the procedure. When I came I was asked to wait another 30 min and they didn’t have one medication at all. Ridiculous. Why they didn’t call me or my doctor with the information? I was with the tremendous pain. Zero empathy and rude. I did not come to buy candy for fun.
I've haven't been to that location in years. I now live around the corner and decided to purchase a carton of ice cream. So, I went to that location and two clerks kept doing what they were doing and it was clear they didn't want to serve me. I even asked one clerk if she wasn't having a good day and did and didn't reply. I WON'T GO THERE AGAIN! Since I felt that I was not welcomed in that store.
I have no complaints about this Rite Aid. The pharmacy team are always helpful and friendly - but also very slammed at times. Be kind, it’s not their fault. We got our COVID booster + flu shot and were in and out in :15 minutes. The pharmacist who delivered them was very nice and gave one shot in each arm, unlike CVS who will do both in the same (which resulted in a very sore arm last year).
This is the absolute worst pharmacy ever. I am standing in the store watching them hang up the phone on incoming pharmacy callers. It’s the most unethical, disgusting, disrespectful thing I’ve ever witnessed at a pharmacy. I will be reporting this to the headquarters. I suggest switching to a different pharmacy if you want your calls to be answered by the pharmacy staff.
Prescriptions never ready, takes forever in store, they don't answer the phone. Additionally, I came in store and showed the female pharmacist that I was currently still on hold for 15 minutes. She walked away and giggled with a co-worker. Unprofessional and unacceptable. And the blanket response to contact customer service - no thank you!!!! Just do better!!!!
long lines and rude staff...so many complaints about the pharmacy because most of the workers there, especially in the day time, don't care but so many people go there that Rite Aid doesn't care because they are still making cash over fist! When you stop filling your prescriptions at this corrupt company then someone in charge might wake up!
Im thankfull for ride aid being open 24hrs surprised nobody has gotten hurt or killed do to the shoplifting that goes on at that store i seen it for myself i have seen the shoplifter confront and employees and just walk out with stuff without paying. Crazys go in there at night. Other than that service is great and friendly.
I quit shopping at Wrong Aid several years ago after too many negative experiences. I went to this one tonight because it is supposedly the only 24 hour drugstore in the immediate vicinity. But guess what, despite a sign on the door indicating that they are open 24 hours - the store is closed! What a joke this company is.
10 minute wait for antibiotics...60 minutes for the pain killer. I've worked in pharmacies for half my life and never experienced that.kind of discrepancy. My partner broke several bones in a motorcycle accident and had to wait over an hour for some pain relief. I won't be returning to this pharmacy. 8/29/2021
My favorite drugstore (RIP Longs on La Cienega & Beverly). If you were physically present the pharmacists go above and beyond. My one complaint is that the pharmacy simply doesn’t answer their phone… please don’t give us the option to speak to a pharmacist when we call - - you’re just giving us false dreams.
Absolutely the worst pharmacy of them all. After waiting in line for almost 30min, they tell me that my medicine is not ready even though I received a text saying it was. Very upset. The workers at the pharmacy don't care at all. I told them I am in a lot of pain and they said I need to continue waiting
Previous reviews of this Rite Aid are not wrong. While they have done some construction, remodeled the store, and increased their selection of goods, their customer service (especially in the pharmacy) is abysmal at best. Waste of time to go here. There's another Rite Aid just down Sunset in Hollywood.
Worse pharmacy ever. Called 20 times and you get put into a repeating call menu. Can never get through. It's a joke. Tried to use their paharmacy for the second time, no go. Have never been able to talk to a human. Go with CVS. They actually answer their phone. Back to CVS again.
The pharmacy manager Ari went out of his way to correct my digital vaccine record after my name was inadvertently misspelled when I got my 2nd vaccine. Kudos to him and the pharmacy (and store) staff who are always efficient, pleasant, and a pleasure to deal with!
Rosamae has THEE worst customer service I have ever seen even compared to Walmart. She needs to be in the back stocking NOT at the register. Or not with you business at all.teach her how to greet appropriately and respectfully, not yell at customers next in line.
It's hit or miss for this store. My latest experience was excellent - very easy and pleasant. Sometimes, though, I wait for an exorbitant amount of time on hold, and it takes forever to get my prescription filled.
Pharmacy was fine. Picked up real sudafed. No issues. However, when trying to ask a question or find simple products, service was less than helpful. We left without finding the product we came for
This is my 'local' pharmacy (live very close). Do not recommend//support the many mom+pop pharmacies nearby. Pharmacy manager is downright rude; every staff member tells you something different.
Favorite location, always clean always fully stocked and they have a great selection of hair products FOR ALL HAIR TYPES. It’s my go to when I can’t get to the beauty supply
The English guy in the parking lot was so helpful and such a nice guy. So unusual these days to find such a charming and wonderful human being. Give the man a pay rise.
The Rite Aid Pharmacy on Sunset Blvd & Fairfax is conveniently located, always stocked appropriately and always provides friendly and relatively fast service.
Waited 50 minutes for my prescription and then they lost it. Some of the most incompetent employees I've ever encountered. Will never be visiting here again.
Listen there's no customer service whatsoever the m.......f......z acting like I'm an alien came to get god knows what?.......
One of the few pharmacies today that actually know your name. Great service. Ari is the best
Great place to shop, got everything I need, and im planning on visiting more in the future!
The kindest, most pleasant pharmacy staff I’ve ever dealt with! They’re truly the best!
Well stocked, clean, a lot of sale item, friendly enough employees thank you!
Good luck ever getting anyone to answer the phone in the pharmacy …
