The mini houses are very cosy. Unlimited heating and many untesils and storage in the kitchen. Many amenities are provded such as soap, toaster, kettle, towels, iron, broom, ironing board, dish rack, dish soap, blankets, free wifi clothes hangers etc. The beds all have a heated mattress. There are blinds on all windows for privacy. However, the bathrooms do not have a lock, meaning that anyone can just walk in on you having a shower. Would like to see this changed. There are many options for breakfast such as pancakes, cereal, toast and fruit. The chocolate cake dessert with the vanilla icecream was a personal favourite for me. The property is very scenic and the lake view is very nice. However, it gets very dark at night due to te lack of streetlights, which makes it hard to navigate back to your motel in the dark. You must clean your own dishes or else you will get charged $50.

Reception people are A1 on work ethics and friendliness. Motel units are old and small however very clean. Laundry facilities only lack a folding area, good value washing machine $4 and dryer $4 for 40 mins - both in good condition. Walking area is well kept in and outside motel. Beware of over friendly ducks (will enter open doorways) outside leaving calling cards with a smell.

Worth taking the walk to Mona to enjoy a local beer and lunch at a friendly hotel also a nature reserve with children play area under grass on river front. A local bowls club and much more with a safe path to walk on.

Simple well equipped functional rooms. Views are beautiful and calming as is the downstairs room opening on to grass and views of the Derwent river. Very peaceful. Good block out drapery to block out light or sheer coverage to allow for air flow and light while preserving privacy. Comfy beds.

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Fish meals were quite nice but rump steak was not even one whole even piece, it was two pieces of varying thickness which also meant it was not medium rare as ordered, it was mostly overcooked, roast pork was the cheap roll type used in pubs and the crackling was cooked in the deep fryer so dry and puffy like a prawn cracker instead of traditional style. Overall it was just ok, the staff were lovely, but unfortunately wouldn't recommend it as there are places charging the same for better quality food in a nicer location and more updated restaurant.

Very affordable. Clean and comfortable with lovely grounds. So impressed with the home grown veggies and fruit trees. The ducks are adorable especially when they bring their little ducklings for a visit. Staff were all friendly and accommodating but the stand out for us was the food! We ordered room service for dinner twice and it was exceptional. Very generous servings, food was fresh and delicious. The beef cheeks were divine and the Eton Mess was a lovely light dessert to finish off with. This is our third visit and would definitely stay again.

Apartments were clean, particularly the kitchen and bathroom. Had everything that was required including a washing machine. Loved the fact that the period of the establishment had been retained, particularly in the restaurant and bar. Restaurant meals were beautiful and all the staff were efficient and friendly. Location was fantastic for us not too mention great if you have kids as walking distance to a huge park and walking/bike trail. We had a lovely group of ducks that would come to the front door. The unit was clean and homely and had everything that we could need, was accessible and this had been thought about which is great! The customer service upon checking and check out was absolutely lovely! This is so often missing these days! We would stay here again when returning to Hobart!

Conveniently located close by to the necessities and being just out of town makes for a quick getaway when continuing on a road trip. Access to the property was easy and the late check in process is a breeze. Excellent staff and friendly service. The rooms were a little noisy but really well maintained. Our door backed out onto the water, which was a lovely morning view, but the highlight is definitely watching the ducks just outside the back door.

Attempted to have lunch yesterday. Only two tables in the restaurant were taken. We were asked if we had a booking and we hadn’t. We were advised that bookings are preferable but we could have a table anyway.. We decided not to stay, a suggestion would be to remove the sign outside advertising lunch.. if the restaurant was full and unable to accommodate us then clearly the only one to lose out would be me. Disappointing to say the least..

What a great find! We spent two nights in a river front room. Good sized room looking over a lawn to a view of the river. The room had original features from the 50s or 60s and was clean, light and airy and we were visited by ducks.
