A locally-owned bookshop that has it all! Imagine if a convenience store had comics, collectibles, and cards instead of candy. This is your one-stop-shop for pop culture goods, yet the elevated level of customer service escalates it into a much warmer experience. The owners are seriously cool and always down for a good conversation about whats on your tabletop- whether its a game or a stack of comics. The owners work hard to deliver special orders to the door or to the store, offer discounts for librarians and teachers, and offer events throughout the year! By the way, they have a delightful variety of unique hand-made goods by local artisans, such as leather and knit dice bags, handcrafted DM accessories, stickers, and of course comics! If you haven't visited yet, this is your sign to come check it out.
I went into Rolling Tales yesterday to get a dice scroll and walked out with comics, Pokemon cards, Magic cards, and a Dice Scroll. I will always support Jay as his store treats me as a person with unique interests, unlike many other comic shops that still have the boys club attitude. Here you will find queer-friendly, sex-positive, and family-friendly staff (I get reminded of no swearing opps). This store has a great variety of things, from manga to Gunpla, miniature painting, and more. Plus, Jay will specially order your wants! This is an excellent shop for being a geek. If you live outside of Edmonton, he will ship your stuff to you! Honestly the best comic and collectibles shop I know!
I have never been in such an amazing store before. The owner is always so friendly and has amazing recommendations whenever I come in. They have a great manga collection and are able to order things that may not be on the shelves as well as a fantastic table top roleplaying game selection. I make the 45 minute drive as often as I can because it blows any other hobby store out of the water. Highly recommend checking it out since there's definitely things I haven't included in this review.
Great locally owned brick and mortar comic and game store, Jay and Sylvia are two of the nicest people you could ask to meet, the store is easy to find, it's well stocked, and they can get you any future issues or pre-orders easily. They have a local Artist in Residence as well as other local artists works as well. in addition they have classes and workshops for everything from comic creation to model painting (great if you are a parent).
RT was recommended to us by their Comic Art workshop and local artist (Tayson Martindale). It's a great store with a variety of comics, toys, games and other collectibles. Their website that makes ordering and reserving items very easy for those times you can't get to the store right away. The staff are very welcoming and helpful! They also organize many events and programs that give back to the community.
Loves this store. It is relatively new but their website is easy to navigate, I am able to order books I want to help support a local business. In addition, I am considering trying some of their workshops - they even have a hobby night to go hang out with people and do what you love to do - painting, knitting, etc.
Wonderful staff, very helpful. Not a huge selection, but they curate it, so it's quality writing and artwork. They do carry popular titles and will bring in whatever you ask for if it's available. Drawing classes are great, very good price and my kid enjoys them. Very supportive of local artists. LQBTQ+ friendly.
Jay and Silvia run a great shop. Special ordering is a breeze, and the staff were especially helpful with getting my gift for my partner out without his knowledge ;) They carry a great selection of local comics as well as big titles, which is great! Never had a bad time coming here.
This is a fantastic store! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a great selection of books, games and comics. My son and I have both attended beginner workshops in gaming and art, and they were very well run, fun and affordable. Definitely check out this place!
A friendly caring store, catering to gaming and comics. The have a wide variety of board games and RPG accessories. Not sure what you are looking for, the staff will enthusiastically help and recommend something that will excite and entertain your next game night.
I've shopped both online and in-store and the customer service is top notch through it all. I was able to find exactly what I wanted along with some great finds I would have never come across on my own. Sylvia and Jay have created a wonderful environment!
My daughter and her friend took a class on painting figurines with Courtney. The kids had a great time. Jay was fantastic in helping with registration and payment. The shop looks great with lots of neat and fun stuff. Thanks Jay and Courtney.
Rolling tales has become a weekly outing for my partner and I for new comics. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and nothing short of amazing. They remember their customers and it feels like chatting with old friends every time we stop
Loved the feel of this shop-- clean, organized, friendly! The workshop I attended with my partner was super fun and I learned a lot about how to paint miniatures effectively. Can't wait to drop by again for a more thorough browse!
Wonderful comic and gaming shop with great selection and friendly, intelligent staff. They have great community events and workshops for all ages. The store is always so clean and fresh. I'm always welcomed with a smile.
Rolling tales is a super fun comic and game store. The staff always welcoming, and cheerfully greet you when you come in. They are happy to help you find products and answer questions. A local gem that I love supporting!
Heard about Rolling Tales on the radio the other day and wanted to check them out! Definitely will be my new go to place for comics and TTRPG material! Very kind staff and willing to answer questions and find products!
Rolling Tales has an amazing staff. They are knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. I love their selection of literacy and various items like collectables and DnD gaming and crafting supplies. Always well worth a visit!
Absolutely amazing! My partner and I go all the time and Jay gives amazing service! So much fun to chat with. Friendly and have a variety of role playing games. This place also got me into comics! Highly recommend!
Great store! Jay and Sylvia are awesome. They are very friendly and deliver great service. The store is clean and well stocked with RPGs, Comics, Anime and other things. Great location that deserves more traffic.
They let me bring my cat into the store (in his cat backpack, I didn't let my cat run around free in the store). They also had a decent selection of manga and anime figures. One of the best stores in the city!
An awesome comic book/game store. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and they regularly host workshops where you can learn new game systems, how to paint minis, and how to make your own comic books.
This shop has been the most welcoming experience I've encountered in the comics industry. The staff are all friendly, stock is great, the layout is nice. Definitely a cool place to check out!
The BEST comic book store in town. Amazing selection, second-to-none knowledge, and a community-minded approach to how they run their business. I implore you to check them out!
Great customer service! The staff make my comic buying experience go smoothly. Even if they don't carry something in store odds are pretty good they can special order it in.
I will miss having them so close to home but I am more than willing to head downtown for the excellent service and great products. #supportlocalbusiness
Friendly and helpful staff. I get all my subscriptions from there. They have some really cool events for all ages. I highly recommend checking them out.
Rolling Tales hasn't been around long, but the effort they put forth has them look like seasoned pros.
Friendly owners and good variety of product considering the size of the store .
Friendly staff, and good at naming what movie a music tune was in …
