Your mileage may vary. Big collection, primarily old comics. If you know what you want and are there for business it might be good. Not a place to casually browse. The sign says collectables but they're not the focus at all. Guy at the counter was condescending and incredibly rude but seems to know a lot.
Owner went out of his way to make sure I got what I needed and was fair with pricing. I have been back a couple of times now and have always found something worth purchasing. Will continue to shop there since they have key back issues and in decent shape. I'm glad I decided to give them a second chance.
This place is out of this world, hands down one of Albertas absolute best comic stops, amazing amount of key issues and the owner, Tony, is great to deal with. They also clean and press as well as submit to CGC and CBCS for signature authenticating and host Facebook auctions every week. Check them out!
I came here to see what the value on some comics was and potentially sell them here. The staff looked through my comics and gave me their offer, I wanted to do some research on what they were valued at and they kicked me out of the store. Very rude and I would not recommend selling or buying here.
I came in here earlier today looking for something in specific. The guy working at the till was very kind and incredibly helpful. He showed me all the comics I was looking for and then some. I asked many questions and he was happy to answer. Will come back for more comics soon :)
A big thanks to Tony at Ultimate Key Issue Comics for doing a great job of cleaning, pressing and sending my comics into CGC to be slabbed. His service easily upgraded my comics to the highest capability. Will do further business in the future. Really happy with my experience.
Was nervous to submit some comics to CGC for the first time. This store was amazing, helped me go through all my possible comics and pick the best ones for submission along with which ones to press. Clearly they know what they are doing as every single book came back a 9.8.
Went to the store after seeing them at Calgary Expo last week. Kicking myself for not discovering them sooner. Best shop in the city for back issues and keys. Ryan was working there at the time and he spent close to an hour with me chatting
Had a pair of books pressed and graded with the folks at Ultimate Key Issue and I was VERY pleased with the results. Bumped an un-pressed 9.0 graded magazine to 9.6 after pressing, completely what I was hoping for! The grading from CGC took
I Called this place to see if they can find the value of my comic book, which I had no idea about. I am not knowledgeable with comic books at all, especially whether it is authentic or not. But this man who came out of the back room when I
The person I'm guessing was the owner didn't acknowledge me when I said hello or tried to make chit-chat. The person isn't obligated to do those things, of course, but I really hoped the era of "conceited comic book store owner" were dead.
Decent comic book store in Edmonton. Primarily focused on back issues and mainly DC and Marvel comics; I would not come here for much else. They do not carry much for newly released comics and have a few hardcover books. Prices seemed fair
Went to this place a couple times and wasn't treated kindly. Was rudly told to stay out of a bin supposedly marked "off limits", however at the time the only sign was on the opposite bins, they now have them properly labelled. Another time
My boyfriend has been going to this store for a number of years, being an avid comics collector he has been to shops all over the city and this is one of his favourites for a number of reasons, the prices are decently fair, the location is
Staff is rude, incompetent, and don't know how to act in a professional manner with customers. Either you will be completely ignored, or you will be harassed because they assume everyone is a shoplifter. Their bins are filled with garbage
I've been shopping at this LCS since they opened a couple of years ago and have only good things to say. Tony will find what you want according to your budget and his pressing skills are top notch. I've submitted books to him for pressing
I went in and had a good experience. The owner/employee helped me look for an issue right away. They specialize in back issues and key rare comics. I was looking for back issues but that’s not everyone’s thing when there aren’t new comics
This place is absolutely awful. Went in, and nobody insight so just start browsing. Older guys comes to the front from the back and just looks absolutely miserable. Tried asking one question and got a condescending, rude answer. How this
Wowowooow! Where do I start? I inquired on certain key issues about a week ago, and the store owner Tony not only acquire the keys , but he also took the time to price, est grade, and take pictures of the comics for me. Because I live in
Purchased ASM 300 9.8 from Tony via trade and cash. It wasn't so much the deal that impressed me but the manner in which the deal was struck and the integrity in which Tony displayed. I traded 4 keys and sent $2000 via e transfer. I sent
Went in to find some key books and the guy right from the start was acting hot and bothered. He actually told me he is not wasting his time unless I know what I want and am ready to buy.......I was the only person in the store. I've been
I cannot believe how my husband was treated here. The guy working told my husband to leave and that he couldn't look around in the store. Why do you have a store open if people can't come to look around. We purchase many many comics and
I have been going to Ultimate Key Issue Comics since they opened and have always had a good experience. This is a store for serious comic collectors as they have investment grade comics and a huge amount of back issues. The owner, Tony,
Ive been shopping at Ultimate Key Issues since they moved to their new location earlier this year. I can honestly say im always blown away by the knowledge and care that the owner and staff provide! They have an impressive selection of
Buyer Beware! My son went in with his tooth fairy money and money from chores to buy a comic and the guy at the counter sold him a comic he said was valued at $30 and after my son left he noticed the sticker price was marked at $5. We
Walked in and found many books posted about the store, was enjoying just looking around at the displays and prices and seeing what jumped out at me. Saw a big key and was going to put an offer on it, then I met the employee. He seemed
Showed up to just for fun games after driving 5 hours from Lethbridge. Picked up a game I been searching around for. Decided after looking at the time 7:54 that I would take a peak in the comic store next bay over. Opened the door to
Tony is knowledgable about older key issue comics. The other gentleman working behind the counter was dishonest. I brought it some of my old CGC graded comic books to make some trades. He wouldn’t give me a
Store has good selection of (just) back Issue comics whereas most other stores are getting out of this. Like a previous reviewer, I can also highly suggest you get rid of Comic Book
The owner of this place is awesome! Such a down to earth nice guy. They have a variety of comics and press your books very well. Very friendly and easy to deal with.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Lots of back issue selection in store and fair pricing. Their online sales and auctions always have something interesting too.
I was in quickly this week for the first time. I am learning the comic trade and found the presentation and display to be clean and professional.
Great operation, used them to get a few rare pieces graded. Prices were on point and communication was excellent deal. Deal with confidence
Great selection of vintage and new comic books plus some cool collectibles as well. I enjoy visiting, even if it's just to look sometimes.
Good selection of older comics. Nice slab collection . Staff are friendly. Went today and they had some stuff I was chasing. Thumbs up
The five stars are for Tony—the owner of the store, and his products. Tony is a lovely young man. I’m unsure if he has any staff?
Very well laid out store, tons of back issues as well as Slabed books. They also offer pressing.
Came into the store to try my luck in finding a 2016 Thor issue to complete my collection.
Well stocked, reasonable priced, clean, organized thankfully, and helpful staff!
Prices are way above what you’d pay from eBay.
