"Be aware of this Romford pdsa I took my cat in yesterday and they lied to me that they carried out x rays when I asked them for a report they refused to give me a report and they keep saying to me their system is slow which is a lie"

"It's good in that they provide a free health service, some of the vets feel like they rush you though and want you out of the room quickly so they can move onto the next appointment, but some are nice and don't rush you and take the time to care for you and your pet, sometimes I can't leave a donation, it would be better if reception didn't ask if you want to leave a donation and instead did it a different way, perhaps emailed you after the appointment to see if you would like to"
Be aware of this Romford pdsa I took my cat in yesterday and they lied to me that they carried out x rays when I asked them for a report they refused to give me a report and they keep saying to me their system is slow which is a lie. And then they gave my cat sedation without my consent when I asked them I need to take my cat home and they refused to let me take my cat home. I made numerous phone calls to ask them if I can take my cat back but they still refused. Eventually I then finally managed to get my cat back wen I saw my cat he was in a terrible state and then they put towel over the cage to cover his face and wen I lifted the towel up to see him and then they put the towel back on him again they wouldn’t allow me to see his face . A WHITE TALL MALE ABOUT 6FT HE WAS ACING VERY SUSPICIOUSLY AND CLAIRE ASWELL. AND WHEN I ASKED THE TALL WHITE MALE DO YOU HAVE X RAYS FACILITES ON SITE AND HE WENT VERY FAINT AND HES FACE EXPRESSION WENT PALE. AND CLAIRE WAS DELIBERATELY LYING AND MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS ABOUT MY CAT. Which I find very suspicious as if they were hiding something from me and since then my cat is still drowsy and not conscious I’m very upset and devastated. HE IS NOT WAKING UP AT ALL AND STILL BEEN SLEEPING SINCE THEN. AND THEN I WAS BLACKMAILED BY CLAIRE I TOLD HER I AM BUSY I CANT COME IN AND THEN SHE MADE A VERY OFFENSIVE REMARK SAYING THAT IF I DONT BRING MY CAT BACK HERE HE WILL PEACEFULLY DIE IN SLEEP THIS WAS A VERY OFFENSIVE REMARK SHE MADE. SHE WAS MOSTLY INSTERESTED SEEING MY CAT DIE SHE HAD NO INTENTION TO CURE HIM .SHE HAD ONLY HAD THE INTENTION TO SEE MY CAT DIE . AS SHE KEPT SAYING YOUR CAT WILL DIE AND I WAS VERY DEVASTATED AND UPSET. BASICALLY THEY ARE JUST AFTER YOUR MONEY AND THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS. BE AWARE OF THIS ROMFORD PDSA. AND THE ATTITUDE OF THE STAFF THERE WAS VERY RUDE AND AGRESSIVE. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS IS ANIMAL CRUELTY. BE AWARE OF THIS ROMFORD PDSA I DONT WANT ANYONE CATS OR DOGS TO STUFFER OR DIE . THE STAFF ARE LIARS THEY CANT PROVIDE YOU WHAT TREATMENTS THEY HAVE CARRIED OUT OR ANY REPORTS. THEY WONT SHOW YOU ANY REPORTS AS THEY GO ALONG THEY MAKE THINGS UP AND THEY DECEIVE PEOPLE. IM SURPRISED IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS NASTY ENVIRONMENT. THEY ARE OTHER PEOPLE WHO LEFT REVIEW ON CATS BEEN KILLED WHICH IS SHOCKING AND DISGRACEFUL.
Such a kind and hardworking team, everyone works so hard to ensure a good service for the pets and owners. The team goes above and beyond to provide great veterinary care for pets that otherwise would go untreated due to costs. Even if you have to pay for treatment here it is much cheaper than going private and the team do just as well. Some of the reviews here are awful, and I find them very hard to believe, no Veterinary professional is in the business to “kill pets” they love animals and it definitely shows here. Personally they have taken excellent care of my pets, offered great advice, given hand written notes (to help me remember everything from the appointment) and been so kind towards my animals especially my dog who is very nervous). I am so grateful for PDSA Romford and can’t imagine what I would do without them. People need to remember it’s a charity and can’t provide every service you may get private but they are there for those who need it. People moaning about leaving a contribution for their pets treatment need to stop and think if they never contribute they are draining the charity of their resources and one day they may not be there when you need them, even if you leave £5 it’s better than nothing, take some responsibility for your pet. Also for the people saying they killed their pets for no reason, I hate to imagine the condition your pet was in that it died there… The picture is of my cat who the amazing team did everything they could to try and save her after a traumatic injury unfortunately the treatment wasn’t working and I decided for her quality of life to put her to sleep, the whole team were so lovely and truly cared for her. A big thank you to claire who was so lovely when putting Ivy to sleep, the whole thing was calm and painless and she was such a comfort, forever grateful for this team ❤️
My dog and I have been attending this vet since over a year as and when needed. Recently my dog had been very poorly, (from one day onto the next) unable to eat, drink, walk or even show signs of life (!) The vet prescribed her steroids for the time being and a pain reducing injection. We were offered a follow up appointment to see the progress of the steroids and to discuss other options. At the follow up appointment, another vet saw us and had no idea what’s been happening with Bailey (I had to bring her up to speed, like with almost every appointment as there are so many vets working here!) She claimed not to know why Bailey is suddenly so ill, despite having sedated and scanned her (a hefty procedure for a xxl 8 year old dog, might I add), after having done blood tests and samples of her leg lumps (!) We also never received any results from said tests (no print out, no further info; its as if they sedated her and kept her at the practice all day for fun?) She said her hands are tied and started telling me to weigh up quantity vs quality of life! But Bailey is ill, not dying! Judging by other comments I’ve seen, much like with my dog, the vets are quick to dismiss or prescribe bogus medication (human crushed paracetamol?!?) or steroids for over 4 weeks + (when they are not supposed to be used long term). I have lost faith in their competency and can see they are indifferent to the pet. Don’t get me wrong, the staff is kind, but there isn’t enough action, I feel if I don’t take a second opinion with another vet, Bailey would eventually die in their care!!! Shameful! Lastly, they are always quick to ask for donations, and that too in front of a whole room of listening patients!!! Weird treatment of people who are on a tight budget; almost like shaming (?)
Excellent veterinary facility with caring staff members who always go above and beyond for patients and clients alike. This CHARITY organisation utilise all services, knowledge and equipment to offer support and assistance to pets and owners who otherwise would not be able to access veterinary care. Please do read the following below "reviews" with a pinch of salt. In accordance with GDPR and RVCS regulations, veterinary practices are unable to discuss client/patient cases on an individual basis in the public domain, unfortunately, even in response to defamatory or negligent claims.
It's good in that they provide a free health service, some of the vets feel like they rush you though and want you out of the room quickly so they can move onto the next appointment, but some are nice and don't rush you and take the time to care for you and your pet, sometimes I can't leave a donation, it would be better if reception didn't ask if you want to leave a donation and instead did it a different way, perhaps emailed you after the appointment to see if you would like to.
i’ve been coming here for three years and all staff have been lovely and kind. however after today i have been feeling very upset after my interaction with carmine who was rude overall. i understand that my appointment time was mixed up and i apologised multiple times and said it was my fault but after, she was constantly rude and showing attitude towards me. next time if you want to ur pet to be seen ask for anyone else but them.
Fantastic staff and vets. I had to have my dog, Teddy, put to sleep and they were amazing. I went to sit down after checking in but they let me wait in one of their rooms. I was dreading people asking me what he was there for but the receptionist just let me sit in the room and wait for the vet. The vet vet was so caring, not just Teddy, but me aswell. I can't thank them enough.
My cat had to very sadly be put to sleep yesterday and everything felt like a dream but one thing I do remember is how amazing each individual staff was with me yesterday, I was absolutely devastated to be loosing my cat but the staff made that sad situation a little better. I just want to say a big thank you for looking after my beautiful Goku in his final moments ♥️
I had to have my elderly cat euthanised, I cannot praise the staff enough. They were fantastic and made a very difficult situation much easier to deal with. They were kind, considerable and compassionate and dealt with the procedure efficiently and let me be part of the process. I cannot thank them enough. But I am so grateful. Thank you all.
I just went there today and the vets were brilliant and the food and medicines were really affordable and you don't have to pay to be seen in the vets if you are on benefits I would recommend going here for your pets and the reception area and people were very welcoming and very spacious.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS THERE THEY KILL THEM! THEY ARE NOT ANIMAL LOVERS, THEY JUST TELL YOU TO PUT YOUR PETS DOWN IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE. THEY CANNOT BE BOTHERED TO HELP YOUR PET. I CAN SAY SO SO MUCH MORE BUT NO ONE WOULD BE BOTHERED TO READ IT
Very kind and caring! Always polite & welcoming! Had both my cats treated there, never an issue and always helpful. Explained clearly the risks of any treatment / illness' and happy to offer up the best possible advice they can give.
These Vets are amazing. Everything for the animals is done well. Although, the women working behind the phone seem to not sober or understanding to basic information you give them.
Had too have my cat put too sleep as he had cancer. The vets and receptionist were very understanding and professional. Pdsa are a great charity
It’s a nice pet care hospital. Treatment cost is cheaper than other private pet care. We found staffs are helpful thanks
Amazing charity. Giving emergency care for people on benefits who otherwise would not be able to pay for pet care.
What can i say but great people. Always pay AND leave a good donation. Can't understand why some people DON'T.
I was incredibly impressed with all the staff . Really nice Lovely vet too
