For those that like short and sweet reviews, I had a great experience with RSSD from beginning to end. My roof and house are much cooler and hopefully will protect me from rain this winter. I will be recommending RSSD to my agent for future clients of hers that may want to get their roof done. One little thing I would like to add is that these guys run an honest business If you are getting other work done, in addition to your roof, deal with the roof first so you get a sense for how your contractor should be working with you, not just from a customer service perspective, but also a legal one too.. For those of you who like details please read on... Getting the quote was not only super easy, Mark took the time to educate me on what needed to be improved with my roof, why and the best ways to go about it. I'm a pretty experienced person when it comes to home repairs so more knowledge is always welcome. I had 4 quotes total for roofing, 2 of those guys never even talked to me. they just sent numbers. The third did talk to me and was pretty good so he ended up being my backup. Mark told me on the phone that they wouldn't be the most expensive and wouldn't be the cheapest. Well turns out they ended up being the cheapest. Bonus for me. Mark provided me with all the samples I needed to make our style decisions. Don't select your style from photos, take the samples out in the sun and look. We changed our minds once we did that and have no regrets. Once every detail was worked out, we got a quote quickly. Mark was also very responsive with any follow-up we had throughout the whole process and afterwards as well. As an aside, we also had solar panels and Mark recommended and help coordinate team led by Ulf at Unique Solar that did our R&R for a great price (look for my separate review for Unique Solar). The teardown took less than a day and Mark followed up and coordinated with another contractor that was doing another job for me, which required a hole and boot installed on the roof. The hole was drilled the afternoon post-teardown during the roof inspection for damaged wood. Mark was very pragmatic about not replacing wood that didn't need replacing. In the end we only needed a small section of fascia replaced. The roof was finished two days later and my solar panels were back up on the 3rd day. As an added bonus, they flashed our new skylights with their own materials allowing me to return the flashing kits I bought (200$), which was a surprise. Mark and Eric were patient for me to return from an out of town business trip so I could give my final inspection prior to sending payment. Much appreciated guys. The only negative detail I have was during the teardown, pieces of debris were caught in two of our bathroom exhaust fans, which caused one of the motors to burn out (a fault of my son running it with debris still there). I saved the other fan by getting the debris out, but it was a painful task. Perhaps you can inform your teardown crew to cover exhaust holes so debris doesn't fall down during the teardown. Other than that this was the quickest, easiest and least worrisome part of my extensive home renovations.

Working with Roofing Specialists of San Diego was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. I had called the company two years ago to take a look at our roof and badly deteriorated fascia boards. I was especially concerned about the fascia boards and was looking to get them replaced. The owner, Eric, came to our house and completed a thorough survey and spent time answering all of my questions. He ended up delivering a beautifully packaged comprehensive report complete with pictures of our roof, measurements, information and estimates. With a background in urban planning, I especially appreciated their build specifics that included reflective tiles, additional ventilation and the 50 year guarantee that came with the materials combined with their detailed worsmship. While we were deliberating on prioritizing house projects, we decided to wait a little bit longer to replace the roof but knew this company would be who we called when we were ready to. Fast forward to this past spring and a big roof leak in our garage and we called Eric back out. After an updated estimate and talking with Robert, we decided to have our roof and fascia boards replaced. The project was completed in just under 3 days. We had A LOT of rotted plywood that had to be replaced and we decided to gave all of our fascia boards replaced. That said, with especially long days and endless work, we’ve never seen a crew work so cohesively together and work so hard throughout their entire shifts. The fact that they were here early each day and started working on our roof the moment the clock ticked 7am was such a incredible sight, one we haven’t experienced from any team of contractors in the 10 years that we’ve been been in our house (and we’ve had a lot of work done). They were professional and courteous all throughout the process and their attention to detail was so impressive. We’re very happy with the work that they completed. The foreman was wonderful in answering any questions or concerns that we had, he never made us feel like a burden. I’m always apprehensive about having work done on our house, specifically having people in our property that we don’t know as well as having to worry about the work being done well; my concerns with their team were gone quickly. Their team is phenomenal. I highly recommend hiring Roofing Specialists of San Diego for your roofing job both big and small.

I contacted several roofers to see about obtaining a written roof inspection with Ariel photo of the entire roof as requested by insurance company to prevent non-renewal. When I called Roofing Specialists of San Diego I got in touch with Eric directly even though he had left the office for the day. He was gracious to listen to my situation with the insurance company. Eric was very informative that nowadays insurance companies are not renewing a lot of homeowner’s insurance based on age of home alone (assuming no reroof had been done on the roof). My house had already had a complete reroof - all the tiles removed and new underlayment laid. Eric recommended it would be best if I could keep looking for my parents receipt of the reroof to provide to the insurance company. One week later Eric contacted me to find out if I found the proof. I was not able to locate the receipt. I hired Roofing Specialists of San Diego to do a roof inspection that included written report and photo I can submit to the insurance company. Eric was able to do the inspection the next morning and emailed me the written detailed inspection report with pictures. After the inspection and drone work, he answered all my questions patiently and was very informative about building codes and which neighboring homes were not brought up to code. This information demonstrated to me that Eric was a professional roofing expert with integrity. Having him pointing out neighbors homes who have updated with solar panels but other vendors did not bother to bring the homes up to current building code as required. I appreciate that Eric was keeping up with building codes to ensure work is done right. When I need to reroof in the future or others need recommendations I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

I highly recommend Roofing Specialists of San Diego! I noticed a small water stain in one of our bedrooms upstairs and called them to evaluate our roof. Robert Garnier was able to come out the following day. He was professional, knowledgeable and reassuring that a section of the roof can be repaired to address the current leak in our roof. He was accessible throughout the work project and promptly responded to my questions. In addition, they were able to add our project into an opening in the schedule the following week, in lieu of waiting until the next opening in October! That was very much appreciated! Email updates to remind us of the start date, what to expect and how to prepare for our project was also helpful. We had decided to get a new roof and solar. We checked around with folks in the area. The name Roofing Specialists of San Diego was the one a lot of people were talking about. After a quick phone call, Mark Dice showed up at my door. After talking to Mark for a few minutes I knew I had the right guy to handle my project. Mark did a very detailed inspection of not only the roof but the wood trim that needed to be replaced during the repair. During the time between the inspection and the roof replacement, Mark stayed in touch the whole time. He went over every detail to make sure there were no surprises on the installation of the roof. He kept me updated on the timeline. On the day of the roof replacement I was blown away at how fast and efficient the work crew was. 19 guys working in perfect unison. It looked like a Formula One pit crew on my roof. Everyone had a job to do and did it perfectly. Everyone on the crew from foreman to cleanup guys were great. Mark had told me that the goal was get it done in one day. I had my doubts but there it was. Roof on, everything cleaned up, even the painting the wood trim done. My neighbor was in disbelief that the job was done in one day. He just had his done a few months earlier. It took a week. I am very happy with results. As a home owner and a self employed local contractor, it is nice to know that when I need work done that I can not perform myself, there are still honest, hardworking people out there. With the last rains came a small but steady leak into my upstairs office. Though I do have tools and know how to do many things, I was not prepared to not stop the leak. That is when my wife called Roofing Specialists of San Diego. When Eric arrived, he was immediately prepared to get up on the roof to determine the extent of damage. Once he got back down, he made me aware that one of my pool solar panels had cracked a roof tile that then ripped the paper beneath it. I had my entire roof underlayment replaced recently and I'm very satisfied and very happy that I selected the right contractor. The team is very friendly, diligent, and professional. The team completed my roof within 5 days after 3 weeks waiting. The most important is they used the latest construction codes to finish the work like replacing cement around the exhausted pipes with metal and then painted with the color that matched with roof tiles. The team installed air ventilation around my roof to keep my house cooler. They covered my roof at the end of the day to avoid any water damage on the roof, (it was raining on Monday night even in summer time). The underlayment is rubberized and durable with heavy overlapped. They also replaced all bird stops and flashings. Finally, they clean up working area every day before they leave. Today, I walked around my roof and found no defect. The price is fair but very high quality workmanship. Thank you.

After discovering some serious issues with our roof, we reached out to Roofing Specialists of San Diego. Mark Dice who is incredibly knowledgeable, and a great communicator, helped us. We now have a nice, new roof at a reasonable price. The owner Eric came out the first day they started working on our roof. They ran into some unexpected extra work (an additional layer) but still finished the job a day early. Emanual and Diego, and all the other workers were very respectful of our space, cleaning up the sides of our house at the end of every day, and sending us lots of photos of their progress. Before we got our quote, Mark talked about how they build roofs to help cool the house. I didn't think our house got very hot, but since installing our roof the house hasn't been over 72 degrees. We are so happy with our roof, we can't recommend this company enough.

Our first story roof had a small leak. We called multiple roofing companies and chose Roofing Specialists of San Diego. Not only was their bid competitive, but it wasn't pushy in any way and I can't stand that sort of thing. They got us on their schedule very soon after we gave them the 10% down payment. The job only took 2 days and looks great! During the removal of the old roof they found that we had antiquated gap board. It was recommended that we add plywood to the roof to reinforce it. But, they also did not force us to do it. We went ahead and added it, making our roof much more sturdy and reliable for the long haul. Eric sent us tons of pictures of the work in progress as well as the finished product, so we knew exactly what we were getting along the way. The workers were very polite and did a great job cleaning up both days.

I recently had the flat portion of my roof reroofed, by Roofing Specialists, and couldn't be happier with the entire process. I met with Robert G. who was such a pleasure to deal with, he provided a detailed, very reasonable estimate and listed any potential costs that I might incur for rotten wood, etc. The roofing team was a delight (so courteous and friendly), arriving each morning at 7 am and working diligently until sundown, then cleaning up every evening and doing a final thorough clean at the end of the project. They are the epitome of what a great company should be, honest, courteous, and professional. They were even kind enough to remove an old satellite dish off another section of the roof for free! The roofing job was well done and looks amazing. I highly recommend Roofing Specialists of San Diego, they are outstanding!

I called this company last Wednesday. Today is Monday. I left a message that I needed someone to come out and assess my roof. As I write this I have still not heard back from anyone. In this day and age it would be nice if someone at least returned a call. Its okay if you don't want the work or are too busy with all the work that you may have, but at least call the customer back and let them know. It is a shame because this company came highly recommended, but if they aren't returning calls then what does that say about the company?It is disappointing. This review is only based on them never returning a call. Update: Owner of the company was very responsive and contacted me to apologize for me getting lost in the shuffle and not calling back. I appreciate their willingness to make things right. Hard to find these days post covid.

Mark was absolutely great! I had an issue that I suspected could be a roof leak issue, so I contacted Mark from Roofing Specialists of San Diego and scheduled an appointment to get a quote. He came on time and spent an hour and a half going over all the details in the roof, making sure nothing is left uninspected. He was also very informative and I thoroughly enjoyed him going over options for a new roof as well as issues with the existing roof. At the end, we decided to hold off on replacing the roof as the leak was never found and the issue could have been caused by something else, but nonetheless Mark made sure to keep in touch and go over possible solutions (and did not ghost us like other roofers have). When the time comes, I will definitely be reaching out to Mark again for a roof replacement!

After the big rain storm we recently had we noticed a few leaks in our HOA condominium complex. We called a few roofing companies to come out and give us bids on repairing our roof leaks. Eric from Roofing Specialists of San Diego was the only one who said he can repair the roof. All the other roofers pushed to up sell us for a new roof. We really appreciated his up front honesty when he said our roof is definitely in its last years of its life expectancy but he gave us a price to repair the roof and gave us a quote on how much it would cost to replace so we could plan and save for this job in the future. When it came time to do the repair he said he was going to start on Monday at 8 am and he was 10 minutes early. This is one of a kind roofing company.

Mark provided me with a detailed estimate for replacing the roof on our home and the final price was consistent with the estimate. They finished the job in couple of days and that was not surprising considering the number of workers who they deployed to the site. I was very impressed. Soon after they completed the job, San Diego experienced a hurricane. The new roof did not leak a bit. I can’t think of a more perfect testimonial to their work. The new roof looks great and we are very satisfied with the result and would recommend them to anybody who needed repair or replacement of a new roof.

We called because with all the rain this winter we discovered a leak in our roof. Mark came out to take a look and give a quote. I had a leak in my house in Ramona and called Roofing Specialists to inspect and advise. The damage was way worse then could be detected visually so they - without charge - sent someone out to do thorough inspection and take pictures and estimate the repair costs. They gave me sound advice and I compared their price with other companies and they were very competitive. But even more important was the quality of the work and materials used. I was very relieved that they did such an outstanding job at a great price. So much so that I had them come back and do some more work on another part of my roof about a year later. I highly recommend you give them a call to estimate any roofing work you may need.

Roofing Specialists of San Diego are the real deal. Two families in our neighborhood needed new roofs and each got several bids. Our neighbors went with the low-ball bid and got exactly what they paid for. We, on the other hand, went with Roofing Specialists of San Diego and got more than we paid for. Their professionalism, attention to detail and follow through made it such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend working with them and don't ever hire a roofing company that's willing to cut corners and low-ball the estimate. You'll find out the hard way that using a low-rent company will result in a sloppy job. Eric and his team don't cut corners and are professionals.

These guys did a fantastic job on our roof - long story short, they repaired legacy termite damage, converted from open sheathing to closed sheathing and put on a great new Owens Corning shingle roof (with all the necessary components), replacing our old wood shake roof, and they did it all in about 1 week. Any changes or questions were run through me first for my approval before they went forward. On top of this, they relocated two of my roof vents to facilitate subsequent install of solar panels by Unique Solar, at no charge! During the rains we had recently, I had a leak coming down into my bedroom. I figured it had to be coming from a leak in the roof so I started calling around. Out of the four or five calls I made, Roofing Specialists actually answered the phone and went over a few things and gave me an idea of when they can help. all said and done they were great. Eric sent his roofing repair crew out to my home in Poway and made the repair. the workers were friendly and they kept everything clean. I called in Roofing Specialists after my tenant contacted me regarding some rotted wood on the underside of the eave. I was given an estimate for repair, which went up as the job was completed the day of the repair. I was given warning this might happen. However - at the end of the job the original rotted wood was still there and I was told this is not part of the roof. My original contact originally had said he would quote their additional price to repair but did not. Also the day of communication was poor. So yes - they fixed part of my roof that needed repair. Yet poor communication left me dissatisfied with the job done.

Our roof was heavily damaged in an unusually heavy rain this spring. It was a very complex repair, as the original roof had been improperly installed. Robert Garnier is the best! He was inundated with roofing repairs yet he managed to properly assess the situation, created a plan and implemented it as quickly as possible. His team ripped off the old roof and installed a new roof in one day and photo-documented everything. They cleaned everything up and left no evidence of their presence! We are very grateful to him for the time he spent finding a solution to our roof problem. Highly recommend this company.

This company did an AMAZING job on my roof. We did a total home remodel and had to deal with the typical contractor issues- over budget, late or don't show at all. The one exception was Roofing Specialists of SD. The owner Eric took the time to educate my husband and me about materials and even recommended a solution that reduced labor costs. In other words, he was all about was was best for us, not what made him the most money. They finished on time and UNDER budget :) I appreciate the honesty and professionalism because it is so rare in the contractor world. Thanks Eric!

Roofing Specialists of San Diego was referred to me by a former roofer who now only does solar panels. Wanted a roof inspection on a couple rentals that were roofed 20 and 15 years ago. Robert made arrangements directly with the tenants who had special needs during COVID. It wasn't easy for him, but he made it easy for me. I really appreciate the extra effort and want the world to know how helpful he was. He also gave me good news that the roofs were in good condition and to check again in 5 years.

Roofing Specialists of San Diego did a TERRIFIC job replacing a 31-yr-old (25-yr) asphalt shingled roof, rot and termite damage, additional OSB/plywood, fascia replacement with additional wood parts' painting, roof ridge venting with additional low-profile passive intake vents, completing missing ducting, and repairing a fractured rafter. All this completed in a little over 3 days and at a very nice price. Robbie & I highly recommend them and I'll be glad to tell our friends about them.

Mark came out, inspected the damage, sent a report as to what needed to be done, and once the rains let up, his company started the repairs. The guys came and did the repairs in one day. They installed new roofing on the flat roof of a two-story four plex for me. At every stage of the process they were first class. Robert, the estimator, was great -- knowledgeable, courteous, responsive in a timely way when I left phone messages, text messages or e-mails for him. Eric the owner was also helpful, and the crew who did the job were easy to interact with and helpful. I recommend them without reservation.

I have to echo the positive reviews posted by others. The workmanship was high quality and completed as agreed beforehand. The roof tiles were removed, new felt laid, and the tiles were replaced. Repairs were made, the roof was updated, and the work was completed as scheduled. The entire site was cleaned at the end of each day, and when the job was completed. Fantastic experience with San Diego Roofing Specialists. Robert was awesome and really is passionate about his craft. I was dreading having our roof repaired but after speaking with Robert I was excited to have it done! These guys are quick and I appreciated daily photo updates on the project.
