Stopped in because I used to go to the Royal liquor on 103rd before it closed. Large selection at this location. Can only talk about the whiskey specifically but store is quite large and had fairly large sections of other alcohol so I assume the same. They've taken some precautions I assume because previous shoppers to ensure you come in and exit the correct doors. For whiskey, the prices were a little high. Usually larger stores deal with larger quantities but the whiskey was priced like a mom and pop. Did have one bottle I haven't seen elsewhere and given the price probably will have it the next time I visit. I'd come back if I were in the neighborhood. If the beer prices are reasonable you can still make this your normal shop.

I have only been here one time, but that one time really made me angry and not like this place much at all. There was still atleast 10 minutes left before the store was supposed to be closed, but the employee closed early and would not open the door.for me or my fiance and we were there to pick up a order for DoorDash! The pick up time that DoorDash told me was at 12:52 and at that time the employee locked the doors and would not even try and talk to us he was counting down his register getting ready to close!!!! Very unsatisfied with this place!!!!!!

Check your receipt carefully!! They tried to charge me $89.99 for bourbon when the sticker price was clearly $39.99 (and other stores sell it for $30ish). Even worse, they charged double for a case of beer and put the quantity in as 2, meaning they were trying to quadruple charge. I remedied these issues in the store only to get home and realize they still charged me for 2 bags of chips instead of 1. One mistake on a receipt would be reasonable, but 3 separate overcharges represent the intention to scam.

Few weeks back, it was around lunchtime, I stopped here for my friend to grab a drink and as we were about to pull out of our parking spot... suddenly police were everywhere! Multiple police cruisers were blocking my car in and then a bunch of officers quickly ran into the store. A few minutes later they came out with a dude in handcuffs. Apparently he was robbing the place and somehow my friend didn't notice while he was in there I guess? 10/10 nobody got hurt

It's convenient because it's not far from my downtown apartment...but their prices are high, yo...it IS a nice place, with a nice selection of all kinds of stuff, food, snacks, liquor, and other adult party needs and necessities...I like going there because of location, but I have a friend that refuses to go there because they don't post prices and they are too high... Example, I paid $13.00 for a sixpack yesterday, AFTER taking back one that was $16.00...

A decent selection of wine and beer but no sales and all liquor is stored behind the counter so nobody steals it. There is only 1 entry and 1 exit which are in different places so if you go in be sure to ask how to get out since it's not clear. The prices seem to be higher than other stores and the staff pretty much ignored everyone. At least there is a gas station out front so you can not totally waste your time wondering around an overpriced store.

I went to this store on my way downtown looking for a specific beer that the KC Star ad said was on sale for $6.99. I had a clerk help me find it but when I checked out, he had it listed as $7.99, which was odd. He did give me the lower price though, so I went away happy. A few weeks before that I called about another beer on sale and was told that they didn't carry it, only the store at 103rd had it. I didn't like that at all.

One of your liquor stores in the hood. For a neighborhood spot. It has a large selection of wines, beer & spirits. Also with your munchie snacks. Being in this location you get the less fortunate and seedy characters in the area. With bars on the windows and entry turnstile. One way in and one way out. Parking lot is small size but people move I. & out quickly.

Most of the people here are totally awesome. Everyone has a bad apple. I dont blame the institution, but I do blame they guy nodding off, not wearing gloves. Cursing me on the way out. I've only spent a few grand here. I wont spend more. I'm giving a 5 star review because most of the works I've met here are great. But obviously some slip thru the cracks.

Yikes. Staff here behind the bars on the window were very friendly. Got greeted by a toothless gentleman who warned us about the pitbull that he was walking out of the store past two people who were engaging in questionable activities on bicycles. Good selection of beer products and delights from boulevard brewery down the road.

I am sorry to say "i did not stop at royal liquor" we could not find another parking spot at the tropical drink shop across the street so i waited in the car while all else went and got the fruitty drinks for us...please forgive us royal liquors. None of us were drinkers pf spirits... But we didn't stay but 3 minutes

Live near the area, sometimes there’s homeless people near, all that stuff but they have the best prices of the beers I get and certain liquor. Right across from some good taco places so it’s pretty cool. Kinda dirty inside but the employees always seem like good people, very chill and lit. I actually like it lol

Watch out going to this location! Leave one person in the car to watch it. Tow truck drivers extort people for cash here if you stay longer than 15 minutes. No receipts and threatened to make the cost more if you don't give them cash on the spot to let your car go.

Be careful with the time limit to park. There's a shady towing company autobot towing that sits there. You go past 15 minutes, and they start towing your car they will extort cash or make you pay more at the lot. The liquor store has a $10 qr code for parking.

The guy behind the counter When me and my daughter went to pay with my ebt snap card he was mumbling under his breath “ugh ebt” when it says outside they take ebt what’s it matter he’s still getting paid he has a big problem with ebt every time we go in there

Employees are all great, however, their "premium bottled beer" section contains almost exclusively beers well over their best buy date, while maintaining a premium price. Leads me to believe the owner is doing whatever they need to do to make a quick buck.

I moved into the area a year ago...this is my go to spot now...not a bad selection of beer at all, which is what I buy...good beer goes for a fairly good price...and oh, I won't buy my incense from anywhere else...staff are all pretty laid back and cool...

Best selection you can ask for the management is wonderful. They are always stocked up and always very willing to help you with whatever you need. And if you need gas for your road trip they have that too.

I love Royal Liquor on Southwest Boulevard cuz they got those beers ice down and you can just pick whatever variety you like and the prices are very reasonable I would give them 10 Stars if I could

First off, they accept EBT. (For food products only) Next, the staff are friendly. The only downside is there location isn't the best, and there's a few meth heads that hang out around the area.

Has seriously got to have some of the worst selection I have seen. The shelves are half bare, all of the hard stuff is behind the counter, and the selection is easily 1/5 of mike's or gomers.

Not the friendliest of people behind counter. The don't have premium gasoline. Selection of beer was ok. Only stopped there out of necessity.. Don't go out of your way to stop here.

Used to be one of my favorite stores to buy spirits. I haven't been in but once since the new owners took over so I can't say much about the changes they may or may not have made.

Needs updated. Floors are nasty. Staff were rude. Lots of homeless standing against the building outside harassing you as you try to enter. I would recommend bypassing this store.

Old store. "Iffy" neighborhood. But as long as you aren't looking for "The expensive stuff", Royal can provide you with whatever kind of "drunk" you want.

The remodeled they did this place is so good and the stuff on the top shelf now needs a ladder to get. Nice and friendly and has great variety.
