Shocked by the quality of customer service from Sixt Footscray. I hired a bus with a group of friends. The bus broke down, leaving us stranded until the early hours of the morning. Despite having held a HR licence for years and driving at or under the speed limit, observing all road rules and driving to the conditions, Sixt claimed the break down was due to ‘driver negligence’ and charged an obscene amount of money for repairs. AND this was despite taking out comprehensive insurance! I cannot recommend strongly enough, do not use this hire company. *Editted to add - Sixt Footscray pretend they are taking active steps to address patron dissatisfaction by adding the same copy-and-pasted response to negative reviews offering to look into the issue. However, it seems that this is purely for the purpose of online appearances. I sent them my reference number weeks ago and they did not even respond let alone attempt to address the issue as they have publicly proclaimed they will. Absolutely terrible service.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Incredibly disappointed with the service from SIXT Footscray. We hired a bus through SIXT for a day, our driver holding the required HR licence and following all road and rental rules. On our way home from Ballarat, well after midnight, the bus broke down, leaving us stranded at a truck stop for hours. During the wait for taxi’s (few and far between in the middle of nowhere at that time of night) communication from SIXT was poor and left us very frustrated and stressed. SIXT has claimed the break down was due to ‘driver negligence’ which is absolutely false and charged thousands of dollars for repairs despite us taking out comprehensive insurance, we are still trying to recoup this money. I understand mistakes can happen but this was not driver error, and to be charged on top of already expensive insurance is obscene. I would not recommend SIXT Footscray to anybody, this business is untrustworthy and plain rude.

Rented a 3 ton truck from the guys at Footscray and they're undoubtedly the most professional and friendly people I've ever rented a vehicle from. It was my first time renting a commercial vehicle of that size and they stepped me through the trucks features while putting my mind at ease with driving the truck. The truck had only done 22k on the clock and was super clean. Unfortunately some children tagged the van with graffiti but the guys at Sixt cleaned it straightaway and said not to stress about it, as opposed to charging the vehicle protection excess. I've always had shocking experiences with car rental companies and it's always put me off using them until now. If you need to rent a vehicle, come here.

Very bad customer service! I asked for a refund because they charged me the wrong amount, and is taking them forever to process my request (2 weeks and still counting) They don't immediately record the time you return your vehicle, especially if they are serving other customers, and so I had to provide them with a screenshot from Google Timeline to prove I returned it on time. I've been trying to reach out to their customer service for the past 2 weeks (by phone and email) so that they can issue a refund, but up to this day they haven't even resolved the issue yet. Apparently they have emailed the local team twice and trying to call them, but no reply...what kind of customer service is this ?!

Don’t rent from them! Service is terrible and they have no idea about what they tell you! We were given the wrong car which increased our fuel cost! ( gave us a much bigger car) We were Told there was a lot of parking for our own car ! Not true!!! The guy who gave us the car didn’t even know what fuel it took or that there was different fuel nozzles for unleaded/ diesel. They say you can use your own e-tag!! However don’t leave it on the dash it doesn’t work! You will get double charged by the toll company and sixt say it nots there problem! Took me 6 hours on the phone with the toll company to sort out the issue! Yet sixt still say not there problem!

The employees in the branch are very friendly and professional, but everything else is one big zero. On the website, it is written that there will be no additional fees up to 200 km, however, when I returned the car, I was charged for exceeding the mileage. That was not a problem, but the problem is that they charged me twice for the service, plus the deposit. Also, the deposit has not been returned to me yet. I did not receive a confirmation of vehicle collection, nor a confirmation when I returned the keys. In any case, a very negative experience.

An absolutely terrible experience with Sixt Footscray. We hired a bus for a social trip and we paid extra for comprehensive insurance…. Well, mid trip the bus broke down and left us stranded for hours in the middle of nowhere in the dead of night. Not only where Sixt Footscray unapologetic, they blamed us for the bus breaking down saying it was “driver negligence” then charged us Neary 4 thousand dollars for the repair!? Doing my best to recoup some of the funds but in the meantime AVOID SIXT FOOTSCRAY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!

This 5 star rating is solely for the amazing service we received from Cooper. Our car broke down near Apollo Bay and we had to exchange it for a new one. While it took some time to figure out the best way to do this, Cooper was fantastic to deal with. He was understanding of our situation and took our thoughts and suggestions into consideration. He was also in constant communication with us to let us know where things stood. He had our best interests in mind and sorted things out quickly and smoothly for us.

I had to wait over an hour for the truck I had pee-booked. The tyres were flat and apparently their air pump happened to be broken. I had to drive to three different petrol stations to find an air pump for trucks to pump them up myself! Then they had the gall to charge me for going over 100kms when it was their fault I was on the hunt for an air pump in the first place. And all the boy at the reception did was pass off the blame to one of their other branches. Unprofessional service, I won’t be coming back

Amazing service that was extremely friendly and prompt. Perfect location - easy to find and didn't take me long to get there at all. Good humoured, professional workers. The cars were much better than I was expecting. Extremely comfortable and clean. Terms and conditions were laid out perfectly - very easy to understand which left me without any questions. So many fake reviews here. So used, I was, to the account being dealt with honestly with the previous Thrifty franchise there, that I trusted the miserable polo shorted twerp to enter correct kms. Nope, account charged days later for excess KMs for Yarraville to Brunswick return. Never again you lying little mingrels. Let the new Euro owners know you aren't to be trusted, and drag the reputation of SIXT down with petty thieving behaviours.

I pre booked a truck to move furniture and was unable to proceed with the booking due to a system failure when trying to pay. Despite using 2 different cards and changing my PIN twice, I was unable to proceed so walked away inconvenienced. The staff were lovely, hence the 1 star, but the whole experience was a waste of my time and I had to go to another provider. Incidentally my card and PIN worked perfectly within hours of leaving Sixt.

Booked to rent a car while mine was getting serviced. The guy at the front refused for me to use another card to pay as it wasn’t physically there, which makes no sense as at the end of the day he would of gotten the money for the rental. Rude customer service by the guy at the front service desk, glad i’m able to advice family and friends from wasting their time here.

SixT was so easy, convenient and a pleasure to use. The Hyundai i30 was clean, in good repair, and smelled fresh. The gentlemen who helped me were super friendly and helpful. They explained everything and made sure I was set before leaving the lot. The rates were exceptional and included unlimited Kms. I will definitely book through them again.

Easy to book a vehicle - in my case they brought a particular van in that I needed. Vehicle was clean, reliable, and the staff were great to communicate with. Everything was explained up-front and there were no hidden costs. The deposit ($200) was reserved on my card for a few days and then released back to me with no worries.

Phoebe went far and beyond with her professionalism and willingness to help me with my hire. The truck hire and being shown how to use everything in the truck itself made moving so much easier. At a short notice Sixt Truck rental Footscray VIC, provided a 6 Ton Truck, after another Truck Rental company had unexpectedly turned down a three weeks booking. Sixt professional service saved the day and made my House moving excercise possible. I will definitely consider Sixt Rental services as first choice in future.

Pathetic Service at SIXT Car & Truck Rental Footscray. The receptionist charged me for additional drive, which was not supposed to be, and it took more that 2 months and hundreds of follow-ups over the phone. Terrible receptionist and location manager. I don’t think this is worth for single start too.

Our first experience with Sixth has been totally positive. Staff were very efficient, courteous, obliging and friendly. The whole process of renting the van was smooth and effortless. The vehicle was clean, well maintained and perfect for our needs. Would definately return in the future for rentals.

Fantastic car drove from Melb to Bowral 90min south of Sydney for the Bong Bong racing cup and the groovy looking Tesla Model3, it didn’t disappoint and the same with the service they were very obliging and helpful. Have booked again (hopefully the same car) over the Xmas break!.

Terrible service at Sixt. Made an online request for a vehicle, 4 days passed and still didn’t hear anything back from them. Called the store multiple times to see if the car was available, no answer. The day of the reservation, no communication so booked else where. Unreliable.

Rented a vehicle recently and the service from the Footscray office was polite and courteous. I did have a small issue with the setup of the rental but this was followed up in a positive way and hence felt the need to write a good review. Will choose SIXT again one day!

Pick up was a bit slow (quite a few people waiting to pick up their cars and recurring system issues) but requesting for an extension and drop off were seamless! Staff were courteous and helpful, just a few kinks to work out and I’m sure they’ll be 5 stars in no time.

Some really lovely staff that were able to help with our car hire. Got there early and it was no issue to pick up the car a little beforehand either. Dropped it off with no issues at all. Definitely recommend getting your hire car through them!

Felix help us to get our last minute truck. He was pleasantly nice and patience in attending to our questions. It was good experience and comparing the prices from Bunnings and Budget. It is good to rent Sixt truck. Affordable and value.

The pick up location is great for a local, no need to drive out to the airport. Super friendly staff on pick up and drop off. Only improvement could be making the collection process quicker, it took almost 25 mins to leave the depot.

Fantastic experience, if I could give 6 stars I would. I messed up my booking completely but the team were so nice about it and got it all fixed up for me when I went in to collect the car that I had booked for the wrong day (oops)!

These guys are not to be trusted. Not only was handover totally inadequate but the “no blame” insurance taken out didn’t cover an engine issue because it was “our fault”. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere!!!

Great place from which to pick up your vehicle. Short walk from Footscray train station. Easy access to Geelong Rd / Princes Highway. Cheaper than picking up in the CBD.
