This is a warning to anyone that rents a unit from the Salt Lake location. Manager told me I could be at my unit no more than an hour, if I stayed longer than that, I would be loitering. I pay my rent between the 1st and the 5th of each month as to not incurr late fees. Since when does management determine how long I use my personal time to visit my unit once maybe twice a month. So can someone explain to me how I would be loitering if I'm hardly at my unit? This guy has got me messed up with the homeless people he told me were 'living' in their units. How does that apply to me? For all it's worth, I'm a U.S. ARMY VETERAN. Where does he think I don't have the right to use my unit as I see fit? No illegal activity is occurring, I would think that I would be at my unit more often than 2x a month if there were...duh? Now since this particular location is on blast, I will use this review as only the beginning of my law suit. When I first rented the unit, lights were in every unit. There were signs and internet posting lights come with the unit. I do believe I still have the pictures I took displaying the signs that were posted on the fence before this clown moved in. Date & time stamped. Haven't had lights in over a year. I have a 5x10, as big as a walk in closet and I'm in the back. It's dark. I pay for what this fool has stripped away from the property. Take heed to this guys foolishness and apparent lack of property management skills. 04/25/2019 Now this clown wants to get dirt when I'm visiting my unit. Good luck with that one. He tries to in a round about way to discriminate against homeless people. Ol boy better learn to pick his battles. I can prove he has a 'hard on' for homeless. When I walked in today, clown wouldn't look my way. He ought to be ashamed of himself treating customers like their dirt underneath his shoe. That kind of behaviour shouldn't be allowed as business protocol. He tried to shame another customer by telling her she couldn't have her dog with her on the property. People bring their dogs on that property all the time. He needs to leave her alone if he wants to continue to keep his job @stornlock. I'm aware that he reads these reviews, it'd be wise of him to back off. Legal proceedings are just a minute away. Can you spell BREACH OF CONTRACT?

If I could give a no star review for the customer service alone, I would. The owners are rude and dishonest. I paid for the entire month of September and spoke with Lance. He told me that if I closed out my unit for September to let them know and I'd get money prorated back to me for the remainder of the month. Went in today to get the prorated refund Lance promised me and Cindie, the owner, told me they wouldn't give it to me. Worst yet, when she looked up my storage unit, it wasn't even under my name anymore. They'd rented it out to someone else. Their reasoning: It was empty and there was no lock on it. I'm sorry, that does not mean I am done with it since I'd paid for the entire month of September. At first she said she'd closed out my rental on the 10th then when I questioned her about it, she said she didn't know who had rented it out to the next tenant. Every time I gave her facts, she changed her story. The owners are extremely dishonest. When I asked her why Lance would say I was due a refund, she told me to ask Lance. Cindie, are you not the owner? You don't know why your employee would give out that info? She told me that the contract states if you pay rent on the 6th, any money after that is not refunded. When I asked to see a contract she told me to look at my own contract. She couldn't show proof of any of the "contract laws" she was spewing at me. They took my money for an entire month, then rented out my unit to someone else so they got double the money for that unit. Refused to refund me the money (approximately less than $20) I was promised by one of their own employees. I'd say that's pretty dishonest business practices for a company that claims to have great customer service. Don't trust this place. Don't rent here. Or at least, don't leave your unit unlocked. There are other storage places in town. Go there. Trust me.

Where do I start? I was in the middle of a motorcycle trip across the US and I had to drop everything to take a flight back to London where I’m from, at very short notice. To do that I needed to abandon all my stuff somewhere near the airport. In comes Michael the manager! Super friendly, understanding and really good at his job. Made the whole process easy. Offered me a competitive price compared to other companies I had looked at, was very responsive via phone and email to provide information and just made my stuff and motorbike one less thing to worry about. We managed to fit my motorbike (Honda CB500x in case anyone has to do the same as me) without too much hassle into one of the smaller units to save me money, I came back five weeks later and everything was intact, Michael was still as friendly as ever and even went really above and beyond to help me get started again by helping me jump start my bike as the battery had gone flat which took multiple attempts and a fair bit of his time! Best part? Genuinely didn’t seem like a bother to him at all. From the way he interacted with his other customers I could tell he was being genuine and just enjoyed what he did and helping people out. Honestly would wholeheartedly 10/10 recommend this place. Couldn’t thank you enough Michael if you’re reading this! N.b: From a practical POV things that are handy to know: - the perimeter feels secure with a gated entrance and cameras - the units themselves and pretty clean and easy to access and have rodenticide. - you’ll need a padlock obviously but you can purchase a decent one at the counter. - There are toilets available if needed too which is quite handy if you’re sorting your stuff out for a while

This is a decent place to keep your stuff just as long as it's very temporary, because I'm the two years I have had my belongings there , they have increased my monthly rental fee by alit. They put a note on the memo that gave me a 30 days ahead notice of this increase that if there was a problem with this increase that I could take the note and go in and talk to management about that increase and that they might would help with that. I did just that and when I called to talk to them (this was the second increase) I had just mentioned the word increase and the lady that's always there instantly told me no there is nothing they can do to help me and that they can increase as much as they see fit. They said there nothing they were gonna do to help me with it eighter. I was so disappointed with that particular staff member that I started looking for a new place for my stuff. I told her about the note in the letter she just said listen there is nothing I can do . She was not very nice about it and I will let everyone over Social media sites know all about this particular place it's the store and lock on Beck St. Downtown. Soo disappointed with that staff member. I'm also disappointed with the rate increase two times in a two year span. That's more than any place I have ever stored my stuff at.

I've rented a space from here for almost a year and I've been very satisfied with my experience! Their prices were very reasonable, and on the very first day I rented from them, they stayed late in the day as I was coming into town and needed to access the unit. They're always very friendly and helpful! She even noticed I left my sunglasses on my truck as I was driving away and stopped me before I lost them! I utilize the automatic pay using a credit card, and when my credit card information was stolen I had to cancel the card and get a new one. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to update this information with the storage company and was charged a late fee. My only complaint is that I wish they would've notified me initially when the charge didn't go through so I could provide the updated information and avoid the late fee. Other than that, I've had a really good experience and have never had issues with accessing my unit or contacting the owners. I would rent a unit from them again and would recommend them to other people as well!

I originally purchased the unit to store my 18’ Cadillac, but the driveways weren’t wide enough to accommodate the turn into the unit, so I had to store the car elsewhere. I ended up using the unit to store personal belongings instead. In the time I used the storage unit, the price nearly doubled, and I was often never made aware of any increases. All my belongings were destroyed by mice and cockroaches, and there was a very thick layer of dirt that had blown in from an opening all along the ceiling where the roof is not fully attached or sealed to the wall. I ended up having to throw away almost all of my things. I would not choose to store anything with this company again.

I have rented a unit for almost a year. I have been very pleased with all aspects of my dealings with the unit and the management. Don and Cindy are always very positive and accommodating. I go in personally each month to pay the fee just to say hello. The units are well maintained and the driving access between the buildings is always clear and accessible. At the time I rented the unit I lived close by. I have since moved and even though there are many other storage units closer to where I live I have chosen to stay at Stor-N_Lock because of the friendliness of the management, the easy access to my unit, and the cleanliness of the business.

In 2019 I got a storage unit here and stored there for 2 years while I was traveling for work, my stuff stayed safe and I always felt comfortable with it being there. We moved it out in 2021 into our new place and getting it out was painless. In 2022 we got another unit while we were in between places. We had our things there for about 2 months and it was again a great experience. Mike was so incredibly helpful in every way that he could be while we were moving our stuff out and if I ever need another storage unit I know exactly where I’m going to go. I would recommend this place to anybody. This is the best storage unit I have ever used

It's now been a year since getting a storage unit at this facility. I couldn't be happier with the service I've received. It's a clean and secure facility that is well cared for. There was an issue with my unit and when I brought it to the attention of Michael & Julianne they didn't hesitate to resolve the issue immediately. Things have really improved since they've taken over the management of this facility. I'm super happy and would recommend this facility to anyone looking for temporary or long-tern storage near the downtown are of Salt Lake City. And I can't say enough for having a climate controlled unit... PRICELESS!!!

Convenient location, non-convenient opening times. Be cautious if you drive in through the gate when open, you'll need to enter in your own code regardless. Otherwise you'll get a hurried phone call reprimanding you...for some reason. Even though you need to enter a code to leave anyways... It's a storage unit, plain and simple. It's Utah so if you have an external one, it'll be very dusty all the time. Bring a tarp to cover your stuff. If you can get there during working hours it works. If you have a day job it's harder. I rented there for three years, so take that for what it is.

I rent two units. Location is the biggest reason. I don't like that shortly after I had moved into two units that they announced a rental rate increase. I I would have known the about the rate increase I would have rented elsewhere. There is dirt accumulated along the door of the unit that has been there for nearly a year and it is a mud hole when the weather turns wet. If I had the time to move my stuff out to another place I would, and likely will soon. Too expensive and not really maintained as well as it could be. Staff is nice.

I know I will most likely regret leaving you guys because I know that I will never be treated as well by another company. You were there for me when times got tough and never gave me a hard time about it. There is nothing better than a good ole Mom and Pop business. Not saying you're old, but that you treat people in a neighborly way, and that's not something you see a lot of these days. Someone that remembers your first name, and sends out birthday cards. Yep, I'll miss you guys for sure.

When I needed somewhere to store my things this was a great solution but after about a year the rent kept going up for no reason and also everything in my storage was covered with a blanket of dust. There was a corner in my storage unit that water would leak into as well so I couldn’t have my things in that area because they would have been totally ruined. Not a bad location for short term storage but they will keep raising the rent for no reason and I did not get notified at all.

Mike made the process of getting set up and moved in so easy and pleasant. I had reserved one size, but he pleasantly showed me a larger one that I ended up using. He was there when I arrived with moving truck and helped in directing traffic when there were others in same aisle. He saw I was having trouble getting lock to work, came out and showed me trick in getting it to easily close. The facility is easy to get in and out. I am very happy with my decision to use Stor N Lock.

Great storage facility and very well maintained and secure grounds. I know I had looked at several other facilities but this one had all my needs as far as size and garage style opening door. I wasn't a huge fan of the dust, but still compared to several other storage facilities this one was still the best overall. I just bought some drop cloths and old sheets to cover my belongings. The couple who maintains the facility is also very helpful and courteous. I highly recommend.

This place is convenient location and clean but the hours are not. 7-7? Not very late hours considering owners live onsite and for the fact that some people havejobs. They also were super expensive when i moved in my stuff less than a year ago and they've already increased the price! If I had the time and help to move to a cheaper facility I would and just deal with a more inconvenient location for cheaper rate and longer hours.

I truly feel safe leaving my belongings here. Not only are the units clean, I could smell the cleaner in every unit I toured and upon every trip to and from the units. The couple that runs the place are very attentive and kind. They keep things sharp and nice. I knew I wanted to use them when I saw how well kept their property was. Thanks Julianne for all of your help in turning over a unit in under 24 hours for us!

Nice facility , The Manager assisted exit very cordial & helpful , my only complaint was the level of Rent increases , I attempted to move out several times for large savings for same or bigger space , cuz your rent increases were ridiculous my opinion, but my health kept me from taking advantage of new spaces or I would have been out 9 mos. The facilities are great, easy access, and I like that there is an on-site employee living at this location. Very personable and friendly staff, extremely efficient in setting up my storage unit, and the location is awesome, right in the center in relation to where our family members live! We checked out the end ofJuly, and it was smooth from beginning to end. Thank you!

I have stored with them twice. First time, I just borrowed a unit for a few days through my moms company. Now, I have my own unit and for my budget the price was just right. It's very well kept and clean. From the first phone call to the tour of the unit and then to agreeing to purchase the month to month space, was a very fast and pleasent process!

Michal was extremely helpful and friendly- 5 stars! He made my inital experience great. However, once handed over to Juliann, I was treated with nothing but disrespect. Her patronizing tone and comments tainted my overall experience and i will never return. Michael = awesome. Juliann = not-so-awesome. Sidenote: storage was perfectly adequate.

There’s a nice retired couple that manages the unit. I spoke to the wife (Julianne) who was very helpful to show me the storage unit and get my account set up. Since the property is pretty large they have a golf cart that they will have you ride in to see your unit. They obviously take good care of the place.

I have used both the climate controlled and a regular storage unit at STOR-N-LOCK and have found them to be clean and adequate for my purposes. The manager has been friendly and accommodating. Fast, easy, and enjoyable experience. Staff is extremely helpful and kind. By far the best experience I’ve had with a storage facility. The units themselves are extremely easy to navigate (all ground level), well kept, and very clean. Will continue to use for my storage needs as long as live in Salt Lake.

I have been a long time tenant (10+ yrs) of this storage facility. The facility is clean and organized. Convenient in and out. I have seen the management change over the years and the current one (Mike) is excellent and a vast improvement. Any negative reviews of prior management should be disregarded.

Manager Mike was very helpful as we relocated our “stuff” from a larger space to a smaller one. Mike insured all our wishes were met, and the move was as smooth as possible! The property is always clean and tidy….even the customer bathroom shines. Definitely would recommend this location to others.

Easiest experience I have ever had with storage or ANY business, for that matter. The initial set-up and move-out was seamless. This place has been great to me for over 6 years. My belongings haven't aged. Left Utah due to unfortunate circumstances and before so, I've researched and chosen this place. Well I chose right. Not one time in the 6+ years I felt uneasy about my storage conditions. Also a safe location.

Stor-n-lock has be fantastic! Their facilities are in great condition and they're always super nice. They make paying my bill extremely easy - just a phone call and a minute later it's paid. I have had no problems and high recommend this storage facility to anyone in need of one.

I appreciate the way the employees at Stor-N-Lock Self Storage are so nice - in person and on the phone! The location is very convenient as it's right off I-15 in addition to being right by downtown SLC! I feel secure with almost my entire apartment in storage there!

They are accommodating and efficient. The first day I didn't lock my shed correctly and it could be opened. When they did a security check of all the sheds later in the day, they found it and contacted me. I returned and fixed it the next day. They are awesome!

It's been a go-to for my storage needs on several occasions. They're close to the city, and fairly convenient. They don't always have the size I'd want, but I'd definitely go back if I needed to store things again.

Stor n lock on Beck Street has been a good place to store our household. New management started during the time we rented. They are very pleasant and easy to work with and continue to improve and upgrade the site.

Started out fine then the price keeps going up for no reason. I'm a disabled veteran on a fixed income my income dose not increase but I still have to pay more. They are not flexible its all about the money.
