Writing this review out of principle, please read before you start business with safeandsecure locksmiths, especially concerning Morstise locks as they will not fix them but rather only try and sell you a new one (505CAD excl. tax and excl. install), which is fine expect if you dishonest about the matter. My Mortise lock broke, a little metal spring lever broke in 2 due metal fatigue (pic attached). I know this as I opened the lock and found the broken spring in there. Then brought the lock to the locksmith and asked if they can order or make this metal lever. Their answer (and to be fair yaletown locksmith had the same answer) that you cannot and should never open a Mortise lock and that it cannot be fixed only replaced. Safeandsecure said the lock is put together with pressure machines tensioning the springs you can find inside the lock. I was skeptic and found out this is absolutely not true (that why I am writing the review) you can youtube this or believe my story. They did already prepare an invoice for me to sign for a new Mortise (505CAD). I was disappointed and took the lock home, I took a metal cutter and cut the lever piece out of a metal strapping coil, bended it in shape, put back in lock, reinstalled the lock, nothing special about that process and put everything back together with 2 hands and 1 phillips screwdriver in 1 hour. To my own surprise it works 100% great. I never worked with locks before. Point being safeandsecure very obviously was not interested in repairing my lock, but rather in selling me a new one, he tried to make that happen by telling me a fat lie. Very disappointed with such treatment, they should not call themselves locksmiths as that implies repairing and making locks, instead they should be honest and state they only sell and install new locks (at least for Mortise locks) instead of telling me false truths in the hope I am desperate (when you front door lock is broken you in a rough bargaining position) and or gullible enough to take their word on it. To be clear I provided safeandsecure with the same pictures that I attached below. Would love to hear your response safeandsecure.

Its 8:50 am and shop is still closed (supposed to open at 8 30). Need to pick up a very urgent cheque, and screwed my hole day schedule(late for all my appointments). Absolutely no sympathy when calling customer service. Response to owner: you dont need to be available for my needs 24/7 (what a sarcastic way to respond to a customer) but your Customer Service Representative needs to provide correct information. He initially said to wait 5 min, then 10, then 15. Ended up waiting outside 30 minutes until 9 am. I needed to drop my wife at work at 9 she was late. I needed to drop of my brother at st. Paul's hospital, he was late. And I was late to work. My package was a cheque that in needed by 11am today. And could not wait for the afternoon. Had your customer service provided accurate information I would have planned my day differently. Instead he was apathetic just like your response.

Horrible, no clue about locks. Brought my back door lock for an apartment building into them with a handle issue. I figured I would have to get a new lock. They brought out a new lock just like mine. I asked to have it keyed to same key as old lock. He said I would have to go get my front door lock and they would key it to the same keys that came with new lock. I finally got him to understand that there was no difference between keying the lock I just was about to buy to my existing key. If I would have done it his way I would had to cut 30 keys for all my tenants. They wanted $87 for the lock and another $29 to rekey the new lock. I left and went to another key store. The same lock was $85 and they just took the tumbler out of my old lock and put it in the new lock for no charge. Will never go back to this store ever again! Should have gave zero stars.

My experience was and is unpleasant. They cut me a new key and fob and it took a month before the immobilizer started taking 10 minutes to release my key. I couldn't find my receipt but when I finally found it I called them and had one of their techs call me and tell me to take it to the dealer and that it was no longer under any warranty. They obviously take no responsibility for their work. I won't even get into how they just showed up when I used their website to request a quote from them. Unfortunately I just assumed they were the company that I did give the go ahead to do the repair, until that company showed up when they were almost done. Any company that says it will not stand by their work and whose warranty is only a couple of months long is a joke and not worth giving your business to.

Not sure about their locksmith skills but this place is also a FedEx holding centre and I’m consistently disappointed every time my package gets left at this location for pick up. They have zero regard to their listed operating hours. I had to pick up a package that was time sensitive being held at this location, and they didn’t show up to open the store until close to an hour after they were supposed to. As if this wasn’t bad enough their customer service representative was apathetic and unapologetic. I pray to God I never have a package held here again.

Do not use this company. They do not stand by their work. Got them to change our door lock. It cost a few hundred dollars for a lock that lasted a few months until we started to have problems with it. 7 months later it was completely useless. When we called to get it fixed, they wanted to charge us again for a service call plus labour etc. When we protested, the guy said he would talk to his manager and call back - but never did. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

the locks in my home were working fine for 14 years, had this company come out and recode the locks. Did not use the lock too often, but within 2 months the key got jammed in the cylinder. Probably not a coincidence, they sent the locksmith out and blamed it on my "Old locks" then charged me $65 for the call out. I called the company and they told me they only warranty for 1 month. First and last time i will ever use or refer this company. 0 stars

I lost my keys for my Subaru and the dealer quoted me an unreasonable amount of money. They also told me it would be at least a week for them to order the keys. I called Safe and Secure and they sent Israel to come and solve the problem for me. I called in the morning and he arrived very quickly. His work was fast, efficient, and much cheaper than the dealer. I highly recommend Safe and Secure and will be using them again in the future! Thank You!

Felt ripped off Service: open bedroom door with basic lock Charged $135 with tax even though I scheduled 3 days beforehand and it's a weekday My original technician didn't make it on time so he called someone else and he charged me second service called "call service" or something. I found Alex online, and I was more than pleasantly surprised at his professional and astounding service. He came very shortly after calling and did a wonderful job with repairing the key/ignition in my car. The price was much more than affordable too (compared to others). I will gladly call if I am in need of future services and recommend his services to my friends.

My front door lock was not working properly. I decided to replace both my back and front door handles and locks. Safe & Secure Locksmiths sourced the kind of new handles I wanted and came within a few days and quickly and efficiently replaced all handles and locks. The technician was pleasant and knowledgeable.

Alex was very nice and went out of his way to explain exactly what was wrong with my car ignition by opening a similar ignition system he had in the shop. He fixed the problem promptly, made a new key and the price was very fair, especially considered how much dealerships charge. Recommended!
