Terrible ! They pulled a bait and switch tactic on me, quoting me one price for a custom piece and then increased the price once I had already paid the deposit. The owner Jaime is rude; he doesn't train his employees on how to effectively communicate about how the process of having a custom piece made works there. They tell you they want to make you happy and never mention that any change you make whatsoever increases the initial quote. And forget taking a picture in as a guide--they will copy it and never hear anything else you say about what you like or want to change about the picture. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had !! The owner, whose supposedly been in business over however many years he touted, went as far as to yell at me over the phone and blamed me for his sales associate's inexperience and lack of communication. Note: I asked the SA at least twice if the price was going to change and she told me, "No, we only charge for the design, not the gold or diamonds because that's minimal in cost." Looking back, this should've been my clue that she didn't have any idea what she was talking about. Thankfully I went to another jeweler in town who was able to make exactly what I wanted! Besides, from what I was told and in my opinion, the jeweler from Claifornia they use to make custom jewelry can be likened to a wal-mart. There are higher end jewelers who carefully handset and take their time. My recommendation would be to do your homework before you settle for this place.

UPDATE: I am changing my review to 5 stars because of the owner and his concern towards my experience. He personally called to apologize and was able to discuss with me how to make things better for the future. True customer service ! I truly appreciate the personal call and willingness to find a way to address my concerns. ------------- I have had decent experiences in the past, but this last experience was not that nice at all. I bought a high end piece of jewelry and was not made aware of the refund exchange policy upfront, and the sales person was very aloof and not very knowledgeable concerning the watch I was buying for my husband. I don't like how we were treated, and we will not be buying any more jewelry pieces from here anymore. I have bought from many high-end jewelry stores, and this place did not do well with making us feel welcome and appreciated like all of the other stores we have been to in the past.

My husband had lovingly gifted me a pair of earrings for our anniversary with my favorite stones, except the jeweler he had purchased them from had rushed the item and failed to even come close to matching the quality and shade to go with my ring. It was sorely disappointing, and for the price, I simply did not feel comfortable with my husband spending so much on an item I would never wear. We returned them, and I told him to forget about it. It was the intent that mattered, not the gift. Well, he didn't let it go and happened to walk into San Antonio Jewelry on a lark and relayed the story to them - they said no problem. They ordered the stones so I may pick out the pair I wanted and custom made the earrings to our liking. They're perfect. They also carry an enticing variety of pieces that caught my eye. We will be back.

My experience personally over the last 20 years of doing business with S.A Jewelry has been great. Holly and Jaime have always been wonderful to deal with. I recently got married and had a family heirloom in the form of a engagement ring that I had presented to my fiancee. Unfortunately, it was stolen just a few weeks before the wedding. I went straight to Holly and explained the situation. She took the time to empathize with my situation and put me at ease. Holly asked for pictures of the ring and the matching wedding band which I left with her. I have had this necklace on my neck for the last 15yrs and it finally broke. I didn't want to take it to any Joe Shmo and never see it again or have a half done job and it break again. My guy googled for me and found SA Jewelers to have a super high rating and I couldn't agree more. They told me there are many areas that need sautering still and I'm so happy they checked each joint thoroughly. Updated on 12/5/2020, For you information. I only called twice. It's not hard to please if you do your job right in the first place waste people's time with inadequate responses. Every time we call in we get a different answers. They said they would call us back in 10 minutes as there was a different person who was in charge of it. They told me as soon as he hangs up he would call me back. When I reached back after an hour they asked me to buy from Lone Star Coins. Unmannered and Unprofessional staff.

I went to see Holly at San Antonio Jewelry to have a custom piece re-done. She had been recommended to me by two very good friends. I could not have been happier--Holly is gracious and lovely to work with, as well as completely professional in her vast knowledge of gems and settings. She gave me several suggestions and worked with me until I was completely happy. The end product was exquisite and she got it done in less than a week. I will go back and look forward to working with her again.

I have purchased jewelry from Jaime and Holly since the early 90's. They have always provided excellent value for a very reasonable price. I no longer live in San Antonio, but I return for all my jewelry shopping. In just the last 5 years, I have purchased at least ten pieces with complete satisfaction. None of the items purchased have needed repair, but I feel sure Jaime would stand behind every item he has sold me. I highly recommend San Antonio Jewelry.

The staff is very nice...but, here's a tip: When closing time is 6 o'clock a customer should be able to enter at 5:59 pm and still shop. We entered at 5:40 and 75% of the jewelry was already put away. The excuse was that "it takes an hour to put all the jewelry in the safe." That's lame. It's obvious the staff is more interested in going home than selling jewelry. I won't be shopping here again.

All of my experiences with San Antonio Jewelry have been so positive. My most recent is a repair of one of my favorite rings I have been wearing for 25 years! I was so pleased when I picked it up! I recently had to have one of my rings repaired. My ring has avery detailed and unique design. I broke a part of the design that I figured was unrepairable because of the detail involved. I've had wonderful experiences every time I go into this store! They are able to order or design jewelry at any price range but the pieces in store tend to be on the higher end. They carry beautiful costume jewelry too. Since the store has a laser they are also able to repair costume/gold plated jewelry, not just solid gold/silver! The engagement section is MASSIVE!
