Cannot speak highly enough about this incredible veterinary practice. Our beloved Dogue De Bordeaux Martha didn't see eye to eye with vets after undergoing a painful ear examination at the hands of one particularly insensitive medic. In fact she appeared to want to eat them! After various tussles with three different practices involving a wide variety of muzzles I found Helen - and never had a problem again. From the moment you meet her you know she is a genuine dog lover - a trait I've sadly not recognised in many of her profession. We felt she cared as much for Martha as we did. And Martha clearly loved her too because she suddenly couldn't wait to go to the vets!! She had a fast-growing sarcoma on her front leg. Two other vets suggested palliative care. But Helen said she felt - with treatment - Martha still had life to live. Through three operations - without a muzzle in sight - she chased the cancer around her leg. Martha lived for two years with her condition and for almost all of that time she was bouncing and bulldozing around - and eating us out of house and home! I firmly believe none of those precious times would have happened without Helen. In the end - aged 11 - it was Martha's heart that ran out of steam. Even when it came to that awful decision most dog owners have to face at some stage Helen guided us every step of the way. She was able to use the latest technology to show us exactly why Martha's time was up - and that has been immensely comforting to all the family. We cannot thank her enough for all she did. Not only would I say to any dog owner you should use this vet, I would say you MUST! Thanks again for everything.

Today, Wednesday 19th July 23 I took in a very small waif kitten which had followed me and my German Shepherd down the lane where I live. It was so tiny and wandering along in the middle of the road. As no other cats could be seen I took it home to have a look at it. It was really thin and had gunky eyes so I phoned Sandbeck and arranged to take it to them for assessment. Later this afternoon Vet Nurse Jo phoned me with an update. Little kitten wasn't microchipped. It did have cat flu / pneumonia but with antibiotics and eye drops it would be fine. Little kitten is approximately 5 weeks old and really should still be with its Mum so needs regular feeds along with its meds. It is a little male. After a lot of thought and discussion I decided that I could not look after it well enough given all the extra care it needs plus there are lots of farm cats and kittens near me so it would get into territory fights. I went and paid for its care so far and Vet Nurse Jo and the Receptionist said they would find him a nice home. I want to thank the staff at Sandbeck Vets for accepting the little sorrowful waif kitten, giving it the care it needs and hopefully helping him to find a proper home.

I’ve had my Bulldog for 11 n half years and she was my world , but sadly it came the horrible nightmare that every dog owner faces it was that decision to put her to sleep , obviously I was devastated and making that decision wasn’t easy ! I rang Sandbeck vets to arrange to come to my home to put her to sleep as I wanted as less stress to her as possible, I was told that I be would have to pay before the vet came out and when I was told how much it was I just didn’t have that amount to pay straight away .. I told them I would have to pay it off over a couple of weeks .. I was told that that couldn’t happen n they needed paying straight away ! I was horrified that all they thought about was the money !!! The vet had to go ask the director who said I could pay half now n the rest next week ! I have had dogs all my life which is 50 years and I’ve never ever experienced anything like it , when your soo upset my dog is about to end her life and leave me forever all they were bothered about was MONEY! I’ll never go back there again , no compassion and one of the receptionist was very rude too on 2 occasions! Be aware money is more important!!

This was our first visit here today with our puppy, and it was fantastic. We had to changed vets because, at the old practice, our little puppy, had a terrible experience with a vet botching a vaccination. She pushed the syringe in to her should blade rather than the scruff at the back of her neck, causing her extreme pain. So, when we went into the treatment room at Sandbeck, as soon as we picked Ruby up and put her on the table so Sarah could clip her nails, our little dog was terrified, she cried and just couldn't stop shaking. Sarah the nurse, immediately recognised what was wrong. She took Ruby off the table and decided not to put her through any further stress. She brought out a box of doggy toys and sat on the floor and played with Ruby for 20mins. We then put a plan together to try and reverse the negative association for her. Ruby loved the play time and soon her tail was wagging and she was jumping all over Sarah. This practice are all about caring for animals. There was no charge not even for Sarahs time. Their main focus is about getting Ruby to trust them. We cannot thank Sandbeck enough, an extremely caring practice.

We can’t speak highly enough of Sandbeck ( fear free vets ) They had no hesitation in taking on our two rescue German Shepherds. Ben who is terrified of his own shadow and Bodie who was extremely fear aggressive at the vets. At our previous vets Bodie had to be muzzled and restrained to have any treatment. Not a pleasant experience for any of us. We have had weekly visits to Sandbeck to see Sarah and occasionally Helen too for desensitisation sessions and have progressed from barking with fear at Sarah to tell her to stay away to now barking with excitement to see her for paws cuddles and treats. Today Sarah has been able to give them both their vaccinations without them even knowing. Even though their vaccines are done we have been invited to visit on a regular basis if we wish to keep up the boys confidence. We are so grateful because we know we now have a lifetime of fear free vet visits for them both. Thank you, particularly to Sarah, you have worked wonders, also to Helen and the girls on reception who have put up with Bodie’s high pitched barking over the past few weeks. You provide an excellent, caring service.

April 23rd our dog Daisy was seriously unwell, and we wanted to take her to our usual vets near Wakefield where Mark Harrison was a locum/consulting vet, only to discover Mark was no longer there. A quick search on the internet we found Mark was now a resident vet at Sandbecks. A call to Sandbecks established this was true, we wanted Mark to deal with our Daisy but Mark was on leave. We booked an appointment to take Daisy in the next day but we really thought that was too long to wait and we resigned ourselves to take her to our local practice. The receptionist did say she would let Mark know. Sandbecks contacted Mark and then us, to let us know that Mark was coming in to see to Daisy can we come straight away. We did of course and sadly we knew she would not come back home with us. Mark had cared for Daisy since she had a serious Kidney infection in 2016 and with his care and his compassionate advice, fully recovered and gave us a further 4 active years with her. Clearly, Mark as a member of the team if you read the ‘Meet the Team’ demonstrated what the ethos of Sandbecks team is. Family Coates

Cannot recommend and thank Julian & the team enough for what they did for my French Lop rabbit Binky. She broke her femur on the Thursday evening and no referral clinic could get me in apart from Tuesday with no guarantee if they would be able to operate! With how long that was away and the risk of amputation I absolutely panicked and called every vet until a few clinics actually recommended Sandbeck to me. After calling, the lady at the desk was brilliant and made me feel so much more calmer, Julian Norton was fantastic in being able to get her in that evening to operate first thing in the morning. They all understood my issues with having to get there as it was 1.5 hours away and even stayed open an extra 30-45 minutes for me. They let me bring Binky’s friend with her, get their area all set up nicely for them and kept me posted pre & post op. Since then they have been amazing with keeping in touch and I am so over the moon with the service. If only I lived closer I would be going their full stop! Thank you so much again to you all, you have been fantastic.

I’d give 10 stars if I could- I moved to Sandbeck recently with my 10 month old springer spaniel due to tail injury he’d sustained. The initial treatment didn’t start off well so we moved to sandbeck as advised by his breeder. My experience at Sandbeck has been nothing but amazing. The reception staff and the vets are all so kind and caring. They are truly a credit to the profession. I have nothing but praise for Sandbeck. I trust and know that they have the best interests for my dog and even me, at heart. They truly care and it really shows. I feel at ease walking in there knowing I’ll get help and advice I can trust. They know how to deal with my puppy too and make him at ease whilst having treatment. Honestly wish I’d have come to this vet sooner as the treatment and service is gold standard. I wouldn’t want to take my dog anywhere else now as Sandbeck really sets that standard of what a good vet should be.

If Carlsberg did vets! What a wonderful practice, every single staff member has been so friendly and helpful and put me at ease, none more so than yesterday when I made a frantic call about my poorly dog Moo and was asked to come straight in. I left her at 11 am and at 1pm had a call from the wonderful Mark to say she was recovering from her op and all went well. Blown away by their professionalism, understanding but most importantly care of the pet. My dog has been unfortunate to have had 2 separate operations within the last 2 months, the first lump removal by Julian went better than I could have ever hoped, she recovered in no time and so pleased to say this morning after her major surgery yesterday she is bright and alert and a different dog. Cant thank Mark, Julian and Helen enough. Outstanding vets who clearly explain everything and put you and your pet at ease what a fabulous team. Thank you.

The death of a pet isn’t something you’d normally leave a review about, but I feel it’s important for them to be treated as well in death as in life…. I volunteer for a not for profit organisation rehoming ex commercial hens at the end of their financially viable lives, and during the course of this end up with ‘poorlies’. The most recent one, Ruby, was treated by Julian for egg peritonitis, the treatment giving her another 2 months of life enjoying a well deserved retirement. However, she began to be sad and uncomfortable again and the decision was made to have her put to sleep so I called the reception staff who gave me a very quick appointment. This is not always an easy job with hens but vet Vanessa Wood was very kind and gentle with her, and it was done quietly and calmly with no stress to Ruby. I can thoroughly recommend Sandbeck for all round care of your pets.

As complete newcomers to having a puppy we have been delighted, relieved and reassured to find such a caring , friendly and helpful vet centre at Sandbeck. Pepa had her first check up with Julian ( thank you !) and I had a long chat with the lovely ladies at reception who gave me tips and Pepa cuddles. I decided to start the Heath plan with the centre as it made sense to cover the cost of the initial consultation and worming / flea treatment and it includes unlimited free consultations which will be so helpful as I have no experience of doggie healthcare ! There was absolutely no pressure to take the plan or buy any products - just an overall sense of genuine care for your pet and wanting the best for her. Thank you everyone for your support - it has made my first week of having a puppy less daunting and more enjoyable ! Fiona ( and Pepa! )

I recently switched from a north Leeds vets and so was quite apprehensive! Well I needn’t have been from the receptionist nurses to mark the vet the treatment and kindness max and myself received was second to none. Max had his treatment today and at each stage before and after was clearly discussed by the most charming nurse who made me feel totally at ease and nothing was too much trouble.Even the vet called me half way through Max’s treatment just to point out a few issues before going ahead. Max is now at home and is a completely different dog to the one I picked up from the north Leeds vets having had the same dental treatment a month ago! I therefor can’t recommend this practice enough from start to finish a fantastic experience delivered with love and kindness by it’s wonderful staff. Thank you from Max and me

Before you sign up to a vets, take the time & trouble to read their website terms & conditions & consider the mentality behind them. The best vets are people people, they look after you as much as they look after our animals. The less good vets talk lots about how they are people people, but in truth their business is money focussed and they have long complex terms and conditions in their hip pocket to refer to so you cannot escape... Our choice of Sandbeck has never, for an instant, been questioned. Just last week we lost Bumble & the care & consideration shown by every single person we came into contact with at the practise has been wonderful. Not that we are rushing things, but once we get a new furry friend we shall be back into the caring embrace of the extended family that is Sandbeck Vets...

Just had first visit to Sandbeck veterinary practice with my puppy Maisie. I am very happy and reassured with Maisie's treatment today. Helen was so lovely and kind and took time to listen to my concerns about Maisie. As a new puppy owner I am a bit anxious about everything and its great peace of mind to know you can ask any questions even if they seem silly to others. Helen was great with Maisie and gave me such peace of mind as I felt I was able to ask about all my concerns. The practice is very spacious bright and immaculately clean and very welcoming. Receptionist very helpful and friendly too. Very easy to get to as I live in Harrogate. Back next week for Maisie's review and looking forward to meeting more of the team. Very happy and satisfied and know my Maisie will be in very safe hands.

I took my daughter to Sandbeck with her cat & ferret, and also her dog who is a little scared of the vets so had come along for the ride. The reception staff are welcoming & helpful which made the booking in process smooth & easy. Tom was amazing with my daughter’s animals. He has a genuine caring nature & took his time with both animals in the appointment, gaining their trust & making them feel at ease. Tom was thorough & explained everything, it was like talking to a friend. Tom even made sure he made a fuss of Buddy, the dog, to show him that visiting the vets isn’t something to be scared of. We felt valued as clients & I can’t recommend Sandbeck highly enough for those who are looking for a vet practice with professional, friendly staff.

What a difference being somewhere that takes so much care. Bowie has been today for his Big Boy Op and during that time Mark found he had some issues with his baby teeth, affecting the growth of his adult teeth and so he called us to go through it all so we could make a decision & he took these out for us. He explained everything so well & took photos to show us exactly what was what and why when we collected Bowie. All the people who worked there were very helpful & kind, genuine caring people. Tracy booked us in initially and gave her advice on queries we had and helped guide us through to today. Thank you to all at Sandbeck, I have one snoozy boy and I am sure if he was able to thank you himself he would Emma, Steven & Bowie.

I have to thank the team at Sandbeck for the fantastic treatment for my Staffy Lily who had to have her cruciate operated on. I went to them as I was unhappy with the advice I had received from my normal vet. The best decision I made, this practice goes the extra mile to look after animals. I knew Lily was in great hands from the first visit. A huge thanks to James who operated but also to Mark, Helen, Tracy, Lucy and Julian for everything, nothing was a trouble at all and they all genuinely care and love for the animals they treat. Lily has now got her walks back and is happy again. Both my dogs are registered with them now and I’ll happily drive from Catterick to Weatherby knowing they’ll get the best treatment available.

Around 18 months ago we changed to Sandbeck Vets after many years with another practice in the area. Sandbeck have treated our rabbits, vaccinated and chipped our puppy, relieved our dogs from teeth issues, abscesses a completed a successful cruciate ligament operation, most recently the amazing staff at Sandbeck have undoubtedly saved one of our dogs life in an emergency. With 5 dogs 4 of which working and several other pets it is essential that we know we have a reliable vets to turn to. We are very lucky to have such a innovative, enthusiastic practice on our doorstep. Highly recommended from a very grateful family! Thankyou Sandbeck!

  • Kim Gillespie

Switched over to Sandbeck about 2 years ago and because one of my dogs likes to try and kill herself on a fairly regular basis we've had more visits here than we would necessarily like ‍♀️ but this has let us thoroughly test them out. The whole team are always really friendly, caring and professional and I feel safe with my dogs in their care. Helen was also especially sensitive with helping our 16 year old dog in her last few weeks and then putting her to sleep at her own home back in February, despite the pandemic. I recommend them to everyone in the local area and can't imagine taking my dogs anywhere else.

  • steven george

Outstanding service and treatment, as a new customer, I am extremely impressed. Our Cavapoo had been very poorly when I contacted the practice. Mark Harrisson invited me to the surgery after an initial telephone consultation. During the current pandemic the practice had excellent procedures in place to ensure our Dog recieved the emergency treatment required, whilst ensuring the safety of staff and customers. Mark was kind and caring and provided the best treatment and advice. Mark has kept in regular contact to ensure our Dog made a full recovery. I would highly recommend this practice ! Thank you.

  • James Smith

My dogs name is Scamp, he had been at another practice for all his life,he developed a skin infection, and had been treated for 11 months, with no success.so I took him to Sandbeck, He is now free of all the infections , his fur is very glossy. And this only took four weeks. Julian told us that Scamp, had a form of cancer, so we agreed to surgery. He came through this, and after a week. He was back to his old self. We have not seen Scamp run for some time, but he does now. You cannot wish for a better professional service, thank you all at Sandbeck for giving our Scamp another lease of life.

  • Georgie Creek

We brought our 2 elderly labradors to Sandbeck Veterinary Centre 20 months ago having been very disappointed with our previous practice and even though we were still in the middle of the pandemic and lockdowns were treated with such kindness and care by the whole team. Helen has very successfully carried out several surgical procedures on one of our precious girls and Ed is making an enormous difference to the other with his acupuncture treatment. They are both now much happier and have a good quality of life. We are so delighted and grateful for the work and support of the Sandbeck team.

  • Gary Harper

This veterinary practice was able to see one of our pet dogs (Coco) at very short notice when my own vet was unable to see us until the next day. This was in October last year. Helen was the vet who looked after Coco and we couldn't thank Helen enough. In February once again we needed a vet , this time our vet didn't answer the phone(which was a first). After trying twice we then rang Sandbeck who could see us that day. Our dog, Pippa, was looked after by Julian and once again we couldn't thank him enough. I am very impressed with this practice and have registered my 4 dogs with them.

  • Megan Hemingway

We visited with a very nervous cat who we struggle to bring to the vets, but he wasn’t phased at all! They have a private cat corner with slots to put your cat carrier in so they can’t see the dogs. Ed, the vet, was great with him. He let him roam around the consultation room and really took the time with him. It’s well worth the drive to visit a vets who considers how difficult it can be to bring your cat to the vets - we won’t be half as nervous next time if he needs to come in again! Thank you to all the team. The ladies on reception were also extremely friendly.

  • Isobel Shaw

We feel very lucky to have had Sandbeck Veterinary Centre recommended to us by our vet at Paragon Referral Vets at Wakefield. We are pleased about everything at Sandbeck and cannot recommend them enough. From the lovely staff that answer the phone and greet you when you arrive to the veterinary nurses and the vets themselves nothing is too much trouble. They care about our dogs and have looked after our border terrier since she had her gallbladder removed excellently. We are so grateful for their care, friendliness and professionalism. Thank you Sandbeck ❤️❤️

  • Abbie Spink

Absolutely amazing. I can't recommend Sandbeck enough. My dog, Buddy is quite unsure and scared of the vets but all the staff make sure he feels comfortable, sitting down with him and making a fuss. My cat and ferret, Jasper and Gus, went to see Tom for a booster & a check before Gus's castration. He was so nice and took time to make sure they were both comfortable, not rushing them at all. Tom is great, he explains and talks through everything he does. Both him and all the reception team make everybody feel welcome. It's a happy place for animals and people :)

  • Emily Clarke

I am incredibly impressed with this practice and I think I'm probably not the easiest person to please, being medical myself. I have had my cats enrolled with several vets over their lifetime and this practice is by far the best. What is more, all of the vets we have seen (4 different ones) have all been excellent. They were all wonderful with the animals, calm, considered, thoughtful, cautious when appropriate, yet also sensible and pragmatic. The reception staff are very friendly, considerate and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this practice to anyone.

  • Judith Lane

I was just visiting for a chat with Julian as l have watched him on tv loads of times, walking into the practice l was greeted by Beth and Beverly the receptionists , they where so welcoming.the practice had a lovely feel about it. Julian was busy but he made time to talk to me and sign his book, of which l shall buy his others.A very pleasant man to talk to and l was so grateful for giving me 5 mins. of his precious time to talk to me.A wonderful experience for my special wedding anniversary. Thank you all mrs Lane from Kent, keep up the good work xx

  • Fawn Lockard

As someone who has a very difficult and reactive dog, I have never been made to feel embarrassed or nervous about the care my dog receives. They have gone above and beyond to always make my fearful dog welcome and have always shown her the love and care she deserves. We walk past the building on her walks and she actually wants to go in every time we go past…which truly says a lot. Thank you for always looking after her and making us feel like we can get through anything. The whole team are truly remarkable

  • Emily Wilkinson

I would highly recommend Sandbeck Veterinary Centre. We could not have asked for more when we had to contact them in an emergency with a very poorly Guinea Pig. They were incredibly kind and compassionate and offered excellent advice not only when we were with them but also afterwards with follow up calls to see how Bubbles was doing. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals they are treating and that customer service is very important to them. Thank you to Mark, Tracy and all the team.

  • Brenda Broadley

A huge thank you to Ed Brownlee and all the team at Sandbeck who looked after Bonnie, who is a very nervous dog. Ed was fantastic with Bonnie and managed a full and very thorough examination of her without her getting stressed out. You hit the nail on the head with her diagnosis and within two days on her medication she was back to her old self. In fact better than before. She is so much happier, and so are we. Really Ed you treated the whole family . Can't thank everyone enough

  • Candy

After being another vets for a while decided to change as I felt it became more about the money than my dog at my old vets so my cousin told me to try sand beck vetinary centre wow what a difference they were actually so nice to my dog chilled him took time with him in fact 30 mins and made him well again so thankyou for making my dog enzo the one that sneezes now chilled when coming to the vets and welcome as a dog not well not a £ sign thankyou to you all best move I’ve made .

  • Helen Dennis-Parsons

as yet, I haven't had the benefit of Julian Norton & Associates expertise. I was trying, without success, to locate their list of fees. eg straight forward scale and polish for X papillon weight 4.4kg no extractions needed. when visiting Thirsk recently I did pop in to previous practice not realising it is now part of too big a group. However, I was Very Impressed with Reception staff attitude and how they handled my tiny k9 when they took her to the back for weighing.

  • Ruth Boyes

From the minute you pick up the phone and speak to the friendly staff, you know your animals are going to be wonderfully looked after. Everyone at Sandbeck is friendly, professional and caring. They do their utmost to ensure a visit to the vet's is a fear free experience. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you Helen for looking after my dogs (and me !) ,so very worth my journey and you've a treat (?) in store when you meet Miss Timothy Tortoise !

  • Annie Simmons

Moved up north from the south, found it really hard to find a vet as good as the one id left down south. Sadly, i needed a good vet today as my boy had injured his cruciate ligament i rushed him to wetherby to see Julian, he was brilliant and id caught it quick, so my boy has to rest up... no playing with his daily for 3 weeks hes needs to rest up and be on antinflamortory drugs. this will cure the problem. Thank you Julian xx

  • Emily Uden

Took my dog, Alfie, here today. Normally he has to be muzzled at the vets because he is so scared as he is a rescue dog. However there was no need to worry as Helen, the vet, was so empathetic with Alfie and took her time to get to know him before examining. All staff were really welcoming and I feel like now mine and Alfie's experience at the vets will be one to enjoy and not dread! Here's a picture of a relaxed Alfie after he got home from the vets!

  • Sam Naylor

Wow! For once a veterinary practice that actually 'cares' about your pet, not about how much they can add onto your bill, which unfortunately seems to be common place now. The team are absolutely amazing at Sandbeck, from the warm welcome you get over the phone to walking in and your pet getting showered with love, care and the occasional biscuit! If you want a vet that cares for your animal, just like you do, this is the practice for you :-)

  • Charlii La Planche

Absolute godsend of a vets. Reasonably priced, brilliant attitude on the vets and receptionists they clearly care about the animals and the owners so much. Always a happy and caring environment to walk into. We won’t ever use any other vet and we’ve only been using them for 8 months but when you have as many animals as we do you need a good reliable place and with these guys you 1000% get it!! Thank you for restoring our faith in vets!!

  • Shona Smith

I can't express how very grateful I am to all the team at sandbank vets. I had only been with them 9 months and they helped so much. Sadly my little dog alfie had to be put to sleep yesterday. Everyone was so kind and caring in every way and my dog was so at ease with them ,even though I was inconsolable. He was my baby and I can't thank them enough for everything they did. Thank you to all of the team who helped my little dog

  • Jo Freeman

Took my dog today and saw Ed, what a wonderful experience, there was not one step of the whole procedure that Ed did not explain to me. From taking a picture of the infected area to showing me the cotton wool where he had extracted the infection. He even cleared up after George after he did a nervous poop in reception. The whole experience was totally stress free and I felt totally comfortable with George being in Ed’s care.

  • Malc. Rhodes

We have a small rescue dog, Misa. We went to Sandbeck vets primarily for nutrition advice. However, in our initial discussion with Julian, in fifteen minutes, he assessed our dog's real problems and gave us great advice and, confidence in him. When we were leaving we mentioned to the receptionist we were really happy with the experience, and, typical Yorkshire, she just said "That's why you came here love". Thank you all.

  • Angela Brown

My dog Ronan has been really ill and has now gone blind due to his illness. All the team especially vet Helen has shown such love and care towards my dog Ronan and myself. Helen is a wonderful vet who has taken the time to explain and listen to all my concerns. It's great to have a practice in Wetherby again that has such a lovely family feel about the place with very well trained staff, just like old times

  • Amy Varley

I can't speak any more highly of these Vets. All the team are friendly and professional. My dog is rather nervous around new people but I knew she was in the right hands with Mark and Helen - who have both been amazing explaining everything thoroughly and have managed to get on top of my dog's ear problems! Would recommend to anyone for a first class service! Thank you very much from Amy and Pumpkin

  • sara kinnon

Poor little Wren my ESS had a rough couple of days .. Emergency Op within 1/2 hr of initial consult with her condition swiftly diagnosed by Frank ,,.. Emergency Op carried out by the Fabulous Helen, and carefully cared for by Lucy afterwards … I’m so grateful and truly cannot thank Sandbeck Veterinary Centre team enough, first class service from The whole team, they are absolutely Amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Cat D

First time visiting this vets and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were awesome with my less than conventional pet pigeon and didn’t mock us when we had to sing to her to calm her down. Ed, thank you for being so lovely and taking such good care of all of us. After previous experience with my “normal” pets at other vets not being that great, you were a breath of fresh air.

  • Clare Lowrie

Highly recommend this practice. I have a very nervous pup (8yrs old!) and I am very particular. Being out of town due to the virus, my pup became unwell, Helen is AMAZING! Kind, considerate, calm, reassuring and very professional. I came away knowing more about my pups condition, reassurance I was doing the right things and excellent service at a cost that was deserved. Thank you so so much.

  • Nick Nick

A well run practice . Very professional. When our diabetic cat at 15 years old had come to the end of his time, they explored every avenue to keep him going without letting him suffer. And when the end came they showed great compassion towards Barney and us . It's difficult to let a pet go as they have become a part of your family. Helen and Edd went above and beyond to help us at this time

  • Jacqueline Bell

Just had my first visit to Sandbeck and wow what a contrast to my previous visits to a vets! From Tracy, the loveliest practice manager ever, to the genuinely caring vet Mark with his balanced and incredibly well experienced approach. I came away for once thinking that people actually cared and didn’t just want my money! Thank you for making Archie’s first visit such a pleasant one.

The whole staff where all very caring friendly and professional. They looked after our fur baby so well from start to finish. From the the first diagnosis to the xray, everything was clearly explained including further treatment needed in the future.. We even received a follow-up phone to ask how Gypsy(our fur baby) was this morning . Would give 10 stars if I could.

Wonderful group of 4 independent vets-which is so rare nowadays with corporations buying up vet practices. The vets and all of the staff are so caring, with the primary concern being the welfare of our pets. Unlike other vets, they are open to natural and holistic principles-including raw feeding. Helen, Julian, Mark and Vanessa are all great. Can't recommend them highly enough.

  • Liz Raspa

I can not recommend Sandbeck enough. They have helped us navigate a few tough months with our retriever, listening to our concerns and answering all our questions. We never felt that decisions were made for us and always felt in full consultation. They responded quickly and compassionately when things changed. Their end of life care for Katie was so caring. Thank you Ed.

This practice is simply fantastic. It’s easy to get an appointment, the staff are very friendly and the practice is clean and nicely fitted out. It’s so well organised! We usually see Tom who is very good with my timid dog. The only thing that lets it down is the parking as there are not many spaces but nothing can be done about that. Honestly, it’s superb!

  • Shirley Annetts

Amazing practice . Thank you to everyone for making our visit welcoming and relaxed . Millie loved getting treats from Franc and the reception girls . Cannot thank you all enough for everything after I had been so anxious and stressed for the last few weeks. Highly recommend you . Wish more surgeries had the same attitude towards our furbabies .

After taking our dog back and forth to a different vet and not getting any answers we travelled further and went to Sandbeck. After 1 visit to see Mark I feel we have the answers we have been looking for and a little dog who is almost back to her normal self. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly, it was definitely worth the extra miles.

  • Rory Gibson

I am a veterinary nurse who doesn't work in hospital and am pretty particular when it comes to where I take my animals. I just moved to this area and was looking for a new vet. Helen was lovely, professional and extremely good with Andre, my feline problem child. The entire staff was warm and welcoming and I will definitely be back.

  • Bev Mawer

It doesn’t matter whether you have an end of life appointment, as we did with Arran, or a 1st visit with a new pup, the appropriate level of sensitivity and care is second to none as we have found this year. Ed has been amazing in both situations and in the 40+ years of owning dogs there really is no other practice to compare

  • Sheila Gautier

Everyone was so kind, thoughtful and supportive of our Great Dane Zoe during her chemotherapy. The care was exceptional with follow up calls the day after her treatment to make sure she tolerated the therapy. We always knew they cared about her and were always they were there for us during what was a very emotional time.

  • Neil T

Switched to Sandbeck recently and immediately noticed the work they do to make the experience less stressful for the animals. Mark the vet was knowledgeable but realistic about treatment options. The receptionist’s were also very warm and professional, they also worked had to settle our dog. P.s Love the paintings.

  • Barbara Townend

Took my rescue cat today and she didn’t get stressed at all. The vet was lovely but extremely professional. Very helpful and found the best and most cost effective way to treat my old cat for thyroid problems. Very happy and relieved. The vet put me at ease about her condition and the expense of a lifelong illness.

  • Ian Falloon

We have used this practice for the first time this week, entailing four visits in the past five days. The attention and care our poorly Westie has received, from all members of staff, gives us confidence he is receiving the best of attention. We are so pleased to have found such a practice.

  • Hannah Wilcox

My rescue dog has been to this vets a few times now, both vets we've seen have been helpful and caring. Yesterday we went regarding my doglet's ears and the vets was very kind to her as she's timid and wary of people. Thank you very much helping to keep my 15 year old happy and healthy!

  • Lucy Alice

i cannot recommend sandbeck enough, the staff are so amazing, friendly and kind, and they truly go above and beyond to make you and your pet comfy. they are always so helpful and ready to answer any questions you have. thank you sandbeck for always taking such good care of my babies!

  • Julie Barker

We have been with Sandbeck Vets for last 6 months and can't speak highly enough of them. Its like how vets used to be years ago In the way that they are friendly from the minute you walk through the door its all about your pet. Its a much more personal experience. Excellent vets.

  • Frank Gee

The web profile captures all the right words about Sandbeck. Nothing is too much trouble for the team and four-paws Teddy joins me in expressing appreciation for the attention he receives every time we need to seek help and advice. Highly delighted by the experiences so far

  • Luke Pollard

We moved to Sandbeck having been disappointed with the service at our last vets. Since moving we have been incredibly impressed with the care, compassion and knowledge of all the staff at Sandbeck Vets. Highly recommended to anyone in Wetherby or the surrounding villages.

  • Trish O'Neill

I have found all the staff at Sandbeck Vets to be kind, friendly and incredibly supportive. They are there for me and my dogs no matter how trivial my question or my need to call in for reassurance. I have 100% trust and faith in them, and as a pet owner it's invaluable.

Such a welcoming and friendly team. The fear free policy is so evidemt. Took both dogs today at short notice and it was no problem. One of the dogs is fearful aggressive but they are wonderful with her in every way. Couldn't praise this practice enough.

  • Cassidy O'Connor

Lovely place, even lovelier people! Our 3 year old had a bad experience with and is now scared of vets. Sandbeck and Helen, who he saw were amazing. She fussed him, made him feel at ease and he behaved (mostly!) can't recommend highly enough.

  • Bryan Power
