What a miserable, horrid, disgusting, rip off of a car rental business. I needed to grab a car for the day so did a quick Google and found this company to be slightly cheaper than thrifty which was a slightly longer walk away anyway, so I called up and booked a used car which was meant to be cheaper. Once I got there they quoted me 45 dollars a day for a station wagon, but then I went and looked at the car it was some 90s beaten up commodore, not quite the 2017 model they showed on their website at that price, I was also informed that the radio didn't work. This blew me away considering they clearly state on their website and on the signage over the building that used cars are 29 dollars a day, and their example picture of a used car on the website is at least half a decade newer then any of the dilapidated heaps they had in the car park. I asked if she was serious that they were charging so much for such a wreck of a car and finally I managed to save myself a whole 3 dollars by downgrading to yet another rickety POS, this time an early 2000s focus. This thing didn't even have matching wheels. I asked again what the hell I would get for their advertised 29 dollars a day used car if this is what I was getting for the price bracket that was supposed to be similar to a 2017 Carolla. And she said that price is only available if you're renting the car for a month, nowhere is this shown on their website or on their signage. I was by this time in a rush so I had to give in, but I told the woman I would be leaving a bad review, she seemed as uninterested as ever. The car I got drove like garbage, there was extreme valve float above 3000 rpm and it had so many shakes and rattles. There isn't even a way to drop the car off after hours here, she said it had to be there by 5, but yet during the day she called up and changed it to 4 because she wanted time to do the paperwork. I even had to open the roller doors myself, talk about great service. While I was there I heard one of their mechanics telling someone on the phone that it's not the company's fault one of their cars broke down and the customer was responsible for a tow truck and repairs, that could have easily been me. Avoid this place like the plague.

There is no option to post as no stars at all (they don't deserve any). I should have read the reviews before I rented from these guys. Not only did they give us a van that is beyond dirty, it was disgusting with sticky chairs and seatbelts, cup holders with dried up food, inside roof had dirty splatters, and chairs were missing backs and covered with makeshift materials. Not only that, the van was not road-worthy as it broke down on us with smoke which was really bad that we had to stop in full traffic and get out so that we do not inhale the smoke that was coming from the inside of the van. The van became undrivable so the roadside assistance had to call a tow truck. Their roadside assistance did not cover taxis/uber, so we had to take the train at night with kids and our guests in tow. We had to leave my husband on the breakdown site to ride back with the tow truck, then I had to pick him up from the rental place. So much hassle! The staff had the audacity to lie and say we were told that the van was old at booking stage, and that is why the prices was discounted. No such conversation happened. We only found out the van was old upon picking it up and when my husband had started to inspect the inside, we were told not to worry. Indeed! it's because the inside was disgusting! We were desperate as it was the long weekend and no other vehicles were available at such short notice. Also, even if they had advised us that the vehicle was old (which they didn't!), it should still be clean and road worthy. Old should still pass cleanliness and still work properly - no excuses! I am still waiting for my refund to go through (which is not the full amount, they have not really compensated us for the hassle they put us through). Never again will we rent from this place. Save-Rent-A-Car, I suggest you get rid of your unworthy vehicles and please clean the worthy ones completely (not just the exterior) before you rent it out as you are breaching hygiene rules. You are in a rental business, sort yourself out.

What a horror van they gave me and terrible experience we had. Van wasn't cleaned for months, coffee or curry on the arms rest and steering wheel, we had to put sheet on top of seats to sit and had to wipe off with wet cloth as it was sticky all over. I asked for diesel van approx. one week prior to booking, via email and phone but they gave me with petrol. When I asked him why did you give me with petrol, he, very rudely said that I should have checked it before picking up (I only found out half way through). Van alignment wasn't done and driving for nearly 3000km, my hand was sore for days. Honestly more than the car, I am disgusted with their rude attitude and lack to customer service. And they are not cheap, normal rates what others charge. Not recommended to anyone and I will never go again. Yousuf

I have recently relocated from the Hills area to Lane Cove and was advised to use Save Rent A Car and Truck ! What a fantastic service especially offered by Amanda who works from the Blacktown office! She sorted some early morning mix up with the whereabouts of the 3 tonne truck but got her manager Cheh or Cheese to talk us through (FaceTime)the ramp/ lever issues for convenience! It was such a great relief for a first time truck handling experience and we were impressed !! Been a customer of save rent a car for a couple of years. Renting various cars for weekend use they do provide older model vehicles they may be older but maintained mechanically and clean drive very well as I use them for trips to the Central Coast or south coast. Also can provide later model cars very competitive in prices lower insurance excess than the bigger well known car rentals also you can use your own etag so you save on admin fees. Highly recommended

I flew in from QLD for easter, turned up to rent a car for the week & this company denied it. They asked for a bill under my name and address here in Sydney, after i told them im a tourist. Myself & the worker looked up the terms & condition section and there was no such thing. I found this to be discriminative because im of large stature covered in tattoos. Never ever will i recommend or even mention this company. They have ruined my familys easter.

They gave us a car that over heated on the day we drove it. We broke down on our way to a holiday in New castle on the busy M1 and they couldn't help us. Their advise was call NRMA. We were unable to enjoy the holiday because the car couldn't drive anywhere. It broke down on the way back and the SRAC attendant had the nerve to ask about the fuel. Worst experience ever.
