In Minnesota I had a trusted vet I loved. People drove miles and cities to get to him because he was known by breeders as the best at doing surgeries on small breed dogs. When I came down here in 2010, I just couldn't find a comparable vet I trusted. I went to some vets who gave me bad advice and steered me wrong. On my former Pomeranian, Nikki, she suffered from a skin issue and every vet got it wrong until Scottsdale Hills. Then with an antibiotic, it was gone, when I spent YEARS (and several hundred dollars) trying to clear it. When it was time to put her down, they were there and very gentle with the process--with a kind follow-up note. Now it was time to spay my Pomeranian puppy, Ginger Bear. And they did such a great job of pre-care, after-care, and the surgery was so tiny she was active and feeling fine in 24 hours! The surgery went so well and professional, that Scottsdale Hills should be known as the small breed specialists. I did price it at other clinics and unless you do a spay-neuter clinic which is cheaper, but I felt that Ginger got better care and attention and she came home well-adjusted, and upbeat in a day. I highly recommend them. All the staff is super supportive and helpful and there is no question they will not answer and be helpful with, get back to you. Excellent customer service! But above and beyond, they really love your pets while in their care. And that's everything!

This is our second time bringing our pets to this location and we had a pleasant first visit. However, this 2nd visit didn’t necessarily go that way. We had scheduled some vaccinations for our pets and the technician Chelsey did our intake. We had mentioned to her probably 3 times that our little Frenchie was ONLY due for her distemper parvo vaccination. Somehow when we left, she handed us our dog’s rabies certificates. Only one of our dogs was due for rabies. This was an error on their part and I immediately questioned her as to why both our dogs got the rabies vaccine when our one wasn’t due until 2024. I had to call and speak to the vet to make sure it was okay and thankfully our dog wasn’t going to suffer any consequences for getting her vaccine early. It’s just extremely frustrating when we had confirmed multiple times what vaccines our dogs should be receiving. Dr. Balsey was very nice and called me back promptly and reassured me that there wasn’t going to be any side effects. All in all, this was an error that could have been prevented by confirming the vaccines prior to administering. Update: On Saturday, not even 24 hours after, my dog ended up with an allergic reaction. Her face was red and swollen. I had to bring her to the emergency vet. I am not sure if it is related to this situation or if by chance she reacted to something else but felt it should be noted.

I was looking for a new vet after getting fed up with the care at my last vet. Dr. Hagenmaier and Dr. Lee are both great. We have seen Dr. Lee more (nothing against Dr. Hagenmaier at all it's just how the schedule has worked out) and when we have had any issues she has reached out personally to check on us. My puppy broke his leg recently and she called to make sure he had gotten to see an orthopedic surgeon. It's clearly she genuinely cares about her patients. She also called to discuss my elderly dog who has failing kidneys and the steps we can take going forward. It is difficult and sensitive but she has been compassionate with us. I also very much appreciate that she doesn't feel the need to dominate a dog to administer care. My puppy isn't afraid of her as a result and doesn't despise the vet office. She also respects my decisions as an owner. She has never made me or my dog feel pressured or uncomfortable. All the techs and receptionists are very nice and any issues I've had have always been promptly resolved to my satisfaction. Their payment plan system is also extremely helpful. I utilized it at a sister location when my last dog got pancreatitis right after paying all my bills. It is a relief knowing that even if several disasters strike at once that I can always utilize the payment plan program to make the stress more manageable.

I have owned animals for 20+ years and have been to many Veterinary clinics in different cities. We have been going to Scottsdale Hills animal Hospital for about 3 years now, and the experience is unlike anything I have ever seen. We unfortunately had to put our dog down recently and it was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. The decision was so difficult to make, but Dr. Kelsie Bradley was truly amazing throughout our dogs care. The entire staff at Scottsdale Hills is great, but I couldn’t believe the care and attention we received from Dr. Bradley. She spent sufficient time with us each visit and on phone calls. She is extremely thorough and does not push arbitrary tests and medications like I have dealt with in the past at other clinics. She really helped us make the best decision for our sweet boy. Dr. Bradley is extremely knowledgeable and very caring and sympathetic, which in this profession I’m sure is difficult to balance. I could imagine what these professionals must go through on a daily bases and to maintain your professionalism, plus still be so compassionate and caring is extremely admirable. We feel so lucky to have found Dr. Bradley! We live about 30 minutes away from Scottsdale Hills Animal Hospital now, but this is the only place I’ll ever bring my animals to for care. Sincerely,

This was the worst experience I've ever had. They do not care about you or the well-being of your pet. They only care about the bill. I dropped my pet off and was met by an intake tech, then I spoke to an assistant vet tech then I spoke to the doctor. There was some disconnect between the three of them and they practically killed my pet. The protocol that we had agreed upon was not followed. The medication that was given to me was incorrect and they sent me home with a receipt for an exorbitant bill for services that weren't even rendered, the wrong meds and the ones that were correct lacked directions. Then recommended another medication, three times as expensive as the one that I was recommended by a friend, which has made things even worse and they take no responsibility or liability for their actions. I highly recommend Canyon animal hospital or Desert Hills animal hospital in Phoenix. These are both veterinary clinics and animal hospital. I do not write bad reviews however you can do what you want to me but when you mess around with my pets it's a whole different ball game...if you understand what I'm saying. This was frightening to me. At the risk of sounding vulgar I just don't do stupid!

My family and I have nothing but good things to say about Scottsdale Hills Animal Hospital (and Grooming)!!! A short while ago, our cute little dog Chablis was having seizure like symptoms as well as a dry cough and we were afraid that she might die. So, in response, we took her to this location and Dr. Alycia Hagenmaier very accurately diagnosed our dog's health difficulties and prescribed some medication. Almost immediately Chablis stopped having the seizures and the frequency of the dry cough greatly decreased. Dr. Hagenmaier basically saved our dog's life, and we are so incredibly thankful to her for all that she has done!!!!! Moreover, we really trust all the doctors at Scottsdale Hills Animal Hill and would recommend their services to anyone in need of high-quality veterinary care!!!! In the past we have had great experiences in dealing with Dr. Cassandra Balsley and thank Dr. Amber Lee for keeping Chablis' prescriptions current. I don’t have enough kind words for the way we were treated here! Our dog had cancer, and had developed a massive tumor on her side. We had decided that euthanasia would be the best choice for Leia. The process was as peaceful and painless as is possible. We never once felt rushed, they provided a soft blanket in our room for Leia and were extremely patient with us. The doctor and tech were incredibly respectful and never once barged into the room or asked us any questions at an inappropriate time. I had a bit of anxiety leading up to the appointment and called before hand so I could know what to expect and all of my questions were answered. We were able to go on a payment plan and only had to be 25% upfront which is extremely helpful. All in all they made this a positive experience and I will bring all my pets here in the future.

It's taken me awhile to write this. I lost my 13yo Yorkie totally unexpectedly on 2/28/20. Brought her in after I noticed her labored breathing the Sunday night before. Come to find out, her tiny lungs were filled with fluid and she had cancer. She wouldn't last another day. I'm lucky I brought her in when I did or else I would have witnessed a horrific death at home. Dr. Alycia Hagenmaier and her staff treated us like immediate family. This was my first loss, and Dr. Alycia felt the pain and cried with me. I cannot begin to tell you how much this has meant to me, including the hand written card I received days later from Dr. Alycia. In all of my 13 years of being blessed as my lil LuVee's Mom, I never, ever felt more love and trust from a vet and staff. I will never forget you all.❤️

Scottsdale Hills was incredible when we brought our puppy in. They quickly diagnosed her and provided us with care options so that we could choose the care that worked for us. We opted to care for her at home, so they taught us how to administer her medication and provided us with all of the needed supplies. I was able to easily administer care at home with their direction. The vet called us to ensure she was doing well the next day and a couple days later again. She patiently answered my remaining questions about our puppy's at home care. Finally, they happily worked with us on a payment plan for the care which helped us out greatly. They were not begrudging at all about the plan as some places can be. Overall we felt very supported, and puppy is doing MUCH better!

I'm a petsitter, used to live in Scottsdale for about 4 years, & would take my cat to Scottsdale Hills AH for veterinary care. I relocated to Mendocino, CA last year, & I recommended this veterinary hospital to my Scottsdale petsitting clients for their 2 dogs. I traveled back to Scottsdale from CA to pet sit for my clients recently, and SHAH helped me with an emergency situation involving 1 of the pups. I am so thankful to them for helping get care for my client's dog on short notice on a Friday night. SHAH truly cares for the well-being of animals, and I would not hesitate to recommend them again! You guys are awesome!!!

I brought my cat here because she was not eating. They refused to even take her out of her carrier as she was angry and aggressive towards them, because she was too much of a liability. I even offered to hold her while they did what they needed to help her. They sent me home with a cerenia injection for me to give her on my own, which this is a very painful injection to give. We ended up at a different vet who quickly realized she was in heart failure and she unfortunately did not make it. If my Nellie had got the care she needed the 24 hours prior she would have had a better chance at survival.

We decided to come here after being with PetSmart for the last seven months due to issues with scheduling and other issues with the plan we were on however I have to say that they have been great and so patient with us and our puppy. He had his first grooming appointment and the groomer and I just laughed on the phone about how he did not take it so well but she got pretty far done with him, but I really appreciate the effort and the follow up for next steps with him. Their prices are a bit less expensive for visits and immunizations and availability has been great so far.

I am SO thankful ya'll worked little Willie in last minute after he was bitten! I drove an hour to get to you and I was super impressed with everyone! I feel like we got a great value for the service and that the staff was VERY friendly. They system in place for COIVD-19 social distancing was smooth. Even though we had to do everything over the phone, I never felt rushed and I was very happy with the extended time that Dr. Kelsey Bradley took while on the phone with me explaining Willie's exam and medications . It's the best experience I've ever had at a vet!

I made an appointment last minute for a second opinion on my cat’s health. Although the end result is not what I was hoping for, Dr. Hagenmaier and the team are absolutely incredible. I can tell that they really love what they do, have a passion for animals and providing the utmost of care. I love that I was able to stay with my cat during the whole exam and they all took time to sit with me and really talk about my concerns and made me feel content with next steps. I am very grateful for the team here and I certainly cannot recommend them enough!

I recently lost my Rottie they were compassionate and gave me his cremated remains with a personal pawprint and a lovely note. I recently adopted another Rottie from Maricopa they did his health check and we're really professional and love my new dog. We will be going here from now on great vet wonderful staff! Wonderful staff caring Vets great service really love animals. Are always reasonably priced and never try to push unnecessary tests or services. I highly recommend them and feel lucky they take such good care of both my rescued Rotties.

They are charging me for a family members dog and refuse to seperate the accounts. They then reported me to the credit union. They never asked my family member for their contact info at the time of the appointment and took the easy route and put it on my account. They are way too expensive in the first place and the front desk people can never do their jobs right. Now I'm stuck with a fine for a dog that's not mine. Find another vet. There's plenty with better prices and friendlier staff who actually care about their customers.

I went here to get my puppy the last round of her puppy shots including her rabies shot. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I was impressed that Dr. Lee got down on the ground with my puppy to give her the shots as my puppy was a little nervous. I never saw a Vet do that. Hopefully I won't have to see you very often but if I do I know she will be in good hands. I also received a follow up call to make sure my baby girl was doing ok after her shots. That was a nice touch. I would recommend this Vet anyone.

I drive over an hour to take both my pups here. After a very harsh season of allergies and four vets later, I came across Scottsdale Hills. They were so patient, compassionate, understanding, and amazing to work with. They loved on my pups like no other and truly showed me that they cared. Not only do they care, but they can text with you if you ever have questions, and never make you feel like you're "too much." Every employee here shows so much love for every owner and animal that walks through the door.

My cat was very sick last Saturday and I had never been to here before, but they were open when I needed help. They were friendly and courteous. My cat needed emergency surgery and Dr Bessemer was amazing. He saved my cat and today she is recovering well. They offer payment plans for large expenses and came in under their quote for surgery. They kept me informed of the surgery, how my cat was doing the morning after and I cannot thank them enough for the service they provided.

Love this place and trust the doctors and staff. When my dog was very sick they gave me hope and that was everything I needed. My cat had a bad infection they gave her surgery and she’s doing so much better and healing perfectly now I drive all the way from Mesa to see them for all my emergency situations because I trust them. Great staff, my chica went into labor over night and had a pup stuck in the birth canal, no clinic/hospital/vet in Casa Grande could handle it and recommended me to some locations in Mesa which sent me to this clinic, the staff was very caring and informative. My pup had to undergo an emergency cesarean so we were there all day and I am Very grateful for the care she received and glad to say she is recovering well and taking great care of her two pups.

As a new dog owner there is so much I don’t know and the team who welcomed me all showed nothing but compassion, kindness and care for my dogo gave great tips and advice grateful for the opportunity to work with everyone to ensure my little one is in good health! First, thank you for being open on a Sunday and not charging astronomical prices because it was a Sunday. When I called to inquire and make an appointment she(can't remember her name)was very pleasant and helpful. I arrived for Missy's appointment and they were prompt in coming out to get her. The doctor called my within 15 minutes to discuss her treatment. The whole process was easy, great service all the way around and inexpensive.

Monday I went through a very hard experience and I had to put my fur baby down. From the time I walked in to when I walked out these people were amazing. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and for people to understand so openly and be so supportive what's the most anybody could ask for. This is the most amazing vet that I have ever been to and if anything were to happen again I wouldn't go to another place.

The Dr and staff are very passionate and knowledgable about caring for your animal. Even though my fur baby was to sick to save, they handled him in a very loving way. They took the extra time to run tests and look over results and explained things to us thoroughly. They literally were closing 15 minutes before we showed up and stayed hours after to help find out what was wrong with my fur baby. Very good place!

The best vet visit I've ever had! Gabby was so helpful with scheduling and went out of her way to help get my pup in when she was sick. During my appointment, the entire staff was great and really took care of my pup, including lots of delicious treats and scratches! This location is much further from my normal vet however I am switching BECAUSE of the service. It was so worth the extra commute. THANK YOU!

I appreciate the hospital here. You guys were honest and up front, and you didn't try to give us anything that wasn't necessary. I sincerely appreciate the kind care you gave us and the lovely hospital. I was quite skeptical because every other vet told me that I would have to pay more than $600 to have my dog evaluated, but you guys charged less than that and didn't try to do things that weren't required.

The staff was absolutely caring and fantastic. My poor kitty had a bad episode of urinary blockage and was in the emergency room. He developed what appeared to be a uti afterwards but I was unsure of whether it was a blockage. This location got me in right away and provided the best treatment possible and were empathetic towards my financial struggle with his previous procedure. I am forever grateful!

I have four dogs and one cat that I bring here and the staff is always amazing and shows love for every animal. I have never been to another vet that I am so comfortable with I will never go anywhere else. I love how this practice will go out of their way to make sure a pet is healthy, even seeing me when they have no available appointments for the day! The people working here are so nice and knowledgeable. I also love the shots for life program and the no interest financing making sure anyone and everyone can afford to get their pet the help they need! I recommend this vet to everyone I know!

We have had a great experience so far. Our dog is having gland issues and the solution could be a variety of things and they have been so great helping us and guiding the process. The appointments have always been on time, staff is nice to work with and everyone seems to care. Not to mention costs seem fair and reasonable which is always such a relief.

All of the staff at Scottsdale Hills is wonderful, especially Dr. Lopez. They have taken amazing care of my new rescue pup who is now incredibly happy and healthy after only a few months. Prices are fair, everyone on staff is patient and willing to walk you through questions, options and costs. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else with a pet.

I am so thankful for the staff here! I have a decently aggressive dog and I felt completely safe bringing her here and felt everyone was very accommodating of her attitude that I will 100% be returning whenever my dog needs to see a vet again! No longer scared of her getting sick and trying to avoid the vet as we’ve had bad experiences in the past.

My dog is never scared to go to the vet here she is actually excited. She loves everyone and always seems so happy to be there. She’s had a long journey and they have made me feel secure in making decisions through the whole rollercoaster ride we’ve been on. Extremely excellent care and staff interaction.. I understand that it is medical and those things are expensive but (for example) x-rays.. they don't even have to print them.. it is all digital. So why is the price more expensive for less work? Overall great practice, Great staff. I highly recommend this place if your pet is in need of it.

Great staff very knowledgeable. Place is very nice and clean. Veterinarians explaine things very well and answer all your questions with now problems. They are very good at providing updates about pet conditions and researching the best they can to find answers for your pets illness. I always feel like my pets are in great hands with them.

The staff was able to have our dog seen the same day we called and Dr. Cassandra Balsley was very thorough with our pet Tilly. They also offer payment plans, which is awesome. We’re in Boulders for 3 months and they were very accommodating for a visit. Have since been back for another visit and X-rays. A quiet, calm atmosphere. Very friendly reception and staff. Doc was very informative and understanding. They’re not the closest but I wouldn’t hesitate to have them as our AZ vet!

This is the best vet office I have ever used, and I have had dogs all of my 30 adult years. From the friendliness of their staff, to the professionalism of their specialists and doctors, they are amazing. They have empathy. Most of all, they are priced well and have never tried to rip me off / over charge.

This was the first time I took my cat to this vet. They really cared about my baby and about me. I recently had surgery myself and they were empathetic to my issues with that. They also took the extra time to make sure I understood what was happening with my cat and the best thing to help him. Thank you.

The ladies who answer the phones and handle the front desk are always helpful and very friendly. The groomer does a great job with my senior dog. And the vet diagnosed TWO conditions (heart murmur and skin infection) that my previous vet misdiagnosed. I have recommended this place to several friends!

Took my 12 week pup Bloom here for his first vet visit. I’m a bit of an overprotective mom so I was nervous about where I should take her. Fortunately, everyone here was amazing! Now I have peace of mind that Bloom will be in good hands whenever we come and visit again.

The only place we could get same day appointment for a dog we adopted from Maricopa shelter, everyone was so friendly and caring. Doctor called next day to see how she was doing, most places it’s just the girl at the counter that calls the next day.

Honest, caring and kind animals lovers work here! I believe the staff cares about my dogs and not just about charging me a ton of money. My dogs love going in because they know they are going to see their friends! Highly recommend this clinic!

The staff here is always so friendly and really puts your animal's best interest first! No unnecessary tests or medications are pushed on you. They also have a very reasonable vaccinations for life package and payment plans available!

Great vets. Many treatments and exams are conducted in exam rooms with the owner present. For my pups, that alleviates anxiety. Kind, friendly, clean, compassionate, efficient. Would not go anywhere else! Highly recommend.

Very friendly staff and our pups are well cared for. They are part of the vet pet where you pay 99$ and all vaccines are free for life - you still pay office visit fee. Weekend hours are great for working families.

Dr Lee and the staff did an excellent job with making me comfortable and taking good care of Tiger during and after his procedure. They even called the next day to see how he was doing. I felt like they cared.
