Neighborhood has really been updated & made more beautiful than I ever got to see as a child. Its sad how things change based on the demographics of the community. When all the black folks were in this area, there was no making the area beautiful. Now that they've pushed us all out & brought in other folk, oh it looks like a wonderland. I didn't stay around long enough to give a more detailed comment than this because the little girl in me said where was all this when I was a kid living here .

A nice little park with a play structure for the kids! It was very clean on my visit and was not very busy. Has some trees to hang a hammock and a nice grassy are for a picnic or to let your dog run around, also had a big cement area to draw on with chalk or things like that. All in all a nice small park.

  • Michael Cote

Controlled by a small group of individuals, serving a small group of people that mostly live outside of the neighborhood. Seward Park is a lost opportunity to bring together diverse groups, sharing the same neighborhood. Michael P. Kelly could fix this within a few minutes if he wanted to fix it.

  • Christine Fiene

Fun summer jazz concerts. Bring your friends, have a picnic, and listen to live music. Free. The park has a nearby Recreation Building which offers classes. Restrooms available. Security is usually on site. Handicapped Accessible. This is a small park. No walking trails.

  • Robert Battie

It's a nice park setting with the usual basketball courts 2 inside courts. Softball fields playground area. During the summer there's jazz concerts out front facing Division street. Park District Citywide basketball championship is held there.

My hometown park. I literally live right next to this area lol. I lived here my whole life I Love It. They are most definitely family and recommend everybody to travel and check them out. They hosts lots of events even for the whole town.

  • Ed Vera

The park has an amazing view of downtown but can feel a bit sketchy at night. I play in a kickball league and have heard of bags being stolen while people play. Cops usually hang around during games so just be aware of your surroundings.

  • Kamran Lalani

Great place to let the dogs play. Plenty of room to run around, and they love it. Would love it if the city would put a few trash cans around the area.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of dogs around. Not gated but pretty open and safe.

First time really having an event here and didn't like that we had a time for our event and it was cut short and those who came in, started setting up before we even got a chance to put on our shoes. It was very disrespectful to me.

  • Renee Prisble

The park grounds are littered. The basketball courts are in poor shape and need to be swept. Fountain hasn't been on since before the pandemic and has weeds growing in it. It's like this park has been completely neglected.

  • Peter J Larsen

It's a very nice place to spend a sunny day under the trees on the grass or on a park bench if one is available. In the center of the park is a large lawn where you can bring dogs to play fetch - Peter James Larsen ™

  • Deborah Crosby

OMG you will have fun and reunite with people you haven't seen in years if thats your old neighborhood and if not you will still enjoy the music from the live band the people are friendly you will have a gpod time.

  • Nafis Khan Chowdhury

Very nice place. Big park. They have soccer field as well as the baseball field. You can also get a beautiful view of skyscrapers. I like it. Best place to hang around with your friends, family kids and buddies.

  • George Hook

Great recreation center built in 1931! Two indoor basketball courts, game rooms, showers and restrooms, 4 outdoor courts, baseball diamonds and ample parking. Facility was decent and clean for it's age!

  • Joyce Henley

I enjoyed myself immensely! It was such a beautiful day to have the entertainment, dancing and all of the people coming together and enjoying one another! Very peaceful crowd .. Applause to my people.

  • Patricia Ellis

Seward park can be a very comfortable and pleasant experience but, to many vagrants, to many men getting high and drug selling is very evident, the drinking of Alcohol and drug use is very apparent

  • Ashley Lewis

They tell parents nothing, offer no notification of changes or requirements, verbally or in writing, and then blame parents for not knowing information about programs that the parents paid for.

  • Donald Tharpe

I just visited the park for a free give away, the giveaway was SUPER GREAT but they just didn't start until an hour later than they suppose to!! That's why I only gave them a 4 star rating!!

  • Matt Parks

Great view of the skyline. Played kickball here and had a blast. Grounds are well maintained and plenty of benches. Not the biggest park but a quaint little park right in busy Old Town

  • Phillip George

In high school I played frisbee here many times. And now as an adult I've played softball at this park. Great location and you can usually find parking west of the park.

  • Lauren Marsillio

Visited the playground which would have been great minus the tons of trash everywhere (food containers, bottles of alcohol, rubber gloves, etc). We left because of it.

  • Takishi Knox

It’s a park that is currently under construction has basketball ball courts and a open field where you can do small activities at. Over all it’s a pretty clean park.

  • Margarita Miranda

Great park with basket ball and play ground and many events taking place during summer and winter. It is a great place to be with co-worker, family and friends.

  • Bryan Beller

4 full basketball courts and some hoops are better than others. Pickup is fun on the weekends but during the week it gets rowdy with middle schoolers.

  • Cheryl Russom

Having fun, socializing, & dancing at SEWARD PARK "Dancing Under The Stars" Every Other Fridays, is the most relaxing Event shared by all whom attend.

  • Kelsey Heffern

This park has been under construction for what feels like 17 years. The fences around the outside make it a huge pain to get anywhere within the park.

  • TEGO-BEY RIGHT

Every year I visit there's something different.
Dog-friendliness
I've seen more dog movement, then when I use to live in that area.

  • Omar Dominguez

The neighborhood is "up and coming," and has redeveloped in recent years. There are baseball fields and some basketball courts.

  • M Downey

Excellent place to relax and enjoy the outdoors not as dangerous as it used to be when the housing developments were available

  • REM

My son’s soccer team got robbed. Computers and cell phones were taken while the boys played soccer. Seven children got robbed.

  • Da Boss Lady

Quiet Park! Simple slides and swings! Nice quick stop walking home from the grocery store! There's basketball rims too! Fun!

  • Nick Geeslin

A nice, open park. For my group’s purposes, it was a great place to find some shade and chill on the grass with a card game.

  • Andre Kazimierski

Great outdoor basketball courts (about 5-7 total full courts total). Parking is tough but a great Chicago park nonetheless.

  • Lamont Robertson

Great place to hang out for the Jazz and stepper fans of Chicago. I just wish that the young fools would stay away!

  • Annie Ngo

Played pick up basketball and tennis. Loved the fields next to the courts but was getting scared when it was dark.

  • Xavier Appleberry

3+ Full sized basketball courts in good condition, but bring your own water because the fountain isn't working.

  • Aaron Roberts

Nice basketball courts, lighted after dark. Didn't really experience the rest of the park unfortunately.

  • Matteo Bertazzoli

The very best b-ball pick up games in downtown Chicago, large space and good playing level. Recommended!
