I am away from home for a time. My cleaner discovered a leak from the toilet (thankfully it did not cause any flooding). I was apprehensive about trying to get this fixed from a distance but, because I had used Shanks Plumbing before, I sent a message explaining my situation. In the office, Jason and Mark were both helpful and Eric arrived today, discovered that - as we kind of expected - he couldn't fix the 20-year old no-brand toilet, so he supplied and installed a new toilet. To save me a second service call, he had brought the desired replacement with him. Excellent, professional, and thoughtful service. Good quality products that may be a LITTLE on the pricey side, but you know that you're getting a professional-quality product (unlike the toilet that failed), and with it you're getting a guarantee that Shanks stands behind with both parts and service. Eric is friendly, professional, and does high quality work. The company is efficient and carries insurance covering them to work in condo buildings more than 5 storeys tall, which mine is. I recommend them enthusiastically!

As an interior designer who has many renovations under her belt, I have worked with my fair share of trades, including plumbers, some of which have proven problematic. This was the first time I have worked with this company, and I was absolutely ecstatic with every part of the project. I used their services for the plumbing components of a complete gut of a 100 sq. ft. master bathroom in a luxury condo, as well as a major repair in a guest bathroom. Not only was the work itself in terms of installation and repair of the utmost quality, but communication throughout, regarding scheduling of appointment dates (and great lead time), arrival of parts, etc. was incredibly professional. Mark, their plumber who worked on all components of my project was very friendly, great at helping me sort out several design options, and a joy to work with. What a relief to know I now have a wonderful, worry-free plumbing company for future projects.

I have always had excellent, prompt service from Shanks and have used them for plumbing concerns about 4 times over the past 5 years. During the freezing cold weather in January when it seemed like everyone's pipes were freezing and bursting, Shanks was able to send someone out within a few hours of me calling and had my pipe repaired and my water back on very quickly. The plumbers who have been sent out and the staff on the phone are always friendly and helpful. I recently had Dave come out to give me some advice on repairing a bathroom that is poorly insulated. He gave me excellent advice and referred me to reliable trades people who were more than willing to set up appointments to give me quotes based on his referral. When the faucet on our old clawfoot tub began to leak badly I took it apart...but soon realized that it was time to call in professional help. Eric from Shanks Plumbing came on time and carefully tried replacing the parts that are the usual source of such leaks. When that did not work, he quickly arranged to pick up a replacement faucet from his supplier and gave us a time frame for a return visit. Despite a busy schedule (and difficult winter driving conditions), he made sure we were taken care of, and installed the new faucet. Eric was very pleasant and helpful throughout, and the entire experience with the team at Shanks Plumbing was professional. I wouldn't hesitate to use Shanks Plumbing again, or to recommend them to others.

We had a new refrigerator delivered today. I, wrongly, assumed the water hookup would be the same as the previous. We got it attached but there was a small leak. I have had small leaks like this before I was not at all excited! I called Shanks and they were able to find time to fix this for me the same day. I know that is not always available or easy to do but they did dispatch a plumber and had us up and working within a couple of hours. He was very helpful in our initial decision making concerning layout, fixtures, and cabinetry. I have had three different plumbers visit from Shanks and stay as satisfied as ever. First, they're very courteous, even personable. They do the job without turning the customer into an assistant, and they don't break or damage anything else in the process of doing their repair! Last, they don't leave a mess for the customer to clean up. Everything they fix stays fixed too, so I am happy to pay their middle-range price as I am getting long-term value. Now, what's the matter with that?

Last Friday we had Eric D. come and do some work at my mother-in-law’s place. We were so impressed with him! He did a great job installing new kitchen taps and even reinforced the counter underneath. He also guided us on the right shower head. While he worked on the kitchen taps, we went and purchased the correct shower head. Eric was also wonderful with my mother-in-law. Our Kitchen Sink was plugged and drain cleaner did not fix the problem. When I phoned the dispatcher was friendly and helpful; when I phoned back later that same afternoon he was able to get an ETA for Eric the plumber coming to fix my sink. Eric was friendly, helpful and professional; he located and fixed the problem in a reasonable amount of time.

At our 99 year old home in East York, we had a surprise leak show up to our dismay. We called Shanks and they came by as soon as possible to diagnose and fix the problem. Eric did a great job of creating and attaching a waterline for my fridge. He re- levelled the fridge after moving it back into place(difficult on my old floor). He was considerate and thoughtful of where to place the line and made sure I understood where on the line I could shut off water too the unit if needed. I highly recommend him.

Long time customer discovered through my contractor. Eric did a great job repairing my clogged kitchen tap and showed me how to troubleshoot any future problems with it as the design of this tap is a bit unusual. Some minor issues with toilets that he was able to fix as well, so a very productive service call.
