Thanks to someone else's review I found the tire repair shop here. Norman is amazing. He's so sweet. He taught a customer how to change her tire. He showed another customer how to measure her tire pressure. He not only fixed 1 tire for me but he checked my other tires and found a tiny sharp nail in a tire that was slowly losing air but wasn't obvious. He works so hard and all the repairs were quick and very fairly priced. You pay inside where you purchase gas so you can use a credit card but bring some cash to tip him. There is a machine to fill air - 4 quarters to use. A tiny mini mart. Lots of pumps. And it's big for NYC but crowded w/ cars and people walking around so go slow. Gas is reasonably priced for Manhattan.
Shell plc is a British multinational oil and gas company headquartered in London, England. Shell is a public limited company with a primary listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and secondary listings on Euronext Amsterdam and the New York Stock Exchange. A core component of Big Oil, Shell is the second largest investor-owned oil and gas company in the world by revenue (after ExxonMobil), and among the world's largest companies out of any industry.
This service station boasts numerous gas pumps, ensuring everyone can fill up their tanks conveniently. The in-house shop offers a nice array of snacks and other essentials. Despite its proximity to the FDR entrance which brings in crowds, the waiting time is minimal. Like any other public gas stations, a slight degree of vigilance is advisable since there's no security restricting access to your vehicle.
It's amazing how few gas stations there are in Manhattan, and predictable that there are always lines of taxis trying to gas up (would be great if there was one pump for passenger cars only). But this one is conveniently located, close to the FDR, and easy enough to get in and out of. It's our go-to spot to gas up.
Plenty of gas pumps to make sure everyone gets their share of fuel. Nice shop for snacks and other items. Crowded because it is next to FDR entrance but almost no waiting. Be a little careful as you would in any gas station since anyone can walk up to your vehicle with no security since it is on the public.
at the edge of this station, there's a great tire repair area, always a few guys there who can quickly jack up your car and look at / inflate / fix the tires. Very informal, no pressure to buy, but they do good work quickly for a reasonable price. Thanks!
Recently went there. Service is very good. Happy to say the lavatory has been completely refurbished. New door, partitions, urinals, plumbing and tiles. A pleasant experience, as previously I'd rather relieve myself on a tree in the park. WELL DONE GULF!
