Good school if one can adapt. It is a substantial jump from junior high, giving you a rude awakening in the form of English 10 and 20x the coursework overall (although my junior high school was not nearly as academically focused as here). All of the teachers I have experienced were willing to offer assistance and extend deadlines within reason, and taught content well, provided you had enough sleep to make it through their lectures. The student crowd is diverse and welcoming, making it easy to make friends with similar interests. You'll often spend your time discussing procrastinating, being too scared to open powerschool, a universal hatred for english, and test weightings (on top of normal conversation of course). There are a variety of clubs and extracurriculars, varying from "Pathways to medicine", to "Anime Club", and your typical school sports. Getting involved in the school is not only a rewarding experience, but also is incredibly easy. The IB program that this school is so well known for takes everything to the next level for the first two years, and offers varying degrees of difficulty where one can focus on the subject of their passion. Be warned that you cannot drop IB courses; they are not for the faint of heart. Overall, this school, although rather unforgiving in terms of course-load, is a great preparation for post secondary, provided that is where you wish to proceed to. Under the watchful eye of Mr Rajan and the staff, all one has to do is not screw up, focus on their studies, and get sufficient vitamin D off campus to succeed here. If you can look past the fact that the school has fewer windows than your local apple store, and that success will only be warranted if one works hard, then this is a school for you. Also avoid physics unless you absolutely want to take it because man I am never doing 309 questions over winter break again.

It's a really good school overall. All the teachers here are great not including a few which I will get to. The teachers encourage you to come to tutorial and will usually help you in that tutorial time. Why this review has 3/5 stars instead of 5/5 is because of the english teacher Ms. Hill. I've been in school for a decade now, I don't think I've truly had bad teachers until I saw her. She will yell at kids and give them an overall bad time. She truly uses the "first impression" to grade you for the rest of the year. Her feedback on essays is never helpful and she thinks your English mark is a joke. My recommendation is if you get this teacher either make a good first impression or try to switch classes. Although I had a good experience in this high school, my experience in her class removed an entire 2 stars.

Horrible school. The teachers, counsellors, and secretary staff are insanely rude. Teachers shout at students and are abusive or sadistic. Counsellors are not helpful at all when it comes to course selection and expect you to know everything. The IB Coordinators are awful too. The fact that this school expects you to sign up for IB in grade 10 and you can't drop it after that is unreal and unheard of at other schools. School is insanely crowded, over 2000 students. Students may have to share a locker with two people sometimes. Same can be said about the parking lot and surrounding intersections around the school. Majority of traffic is caused by kids' parents all coming to pick them up and everyone trying to leave right at 3:00. Such chaos. Overall, please don't send your kids here.

Churchhill is a Good school with bad Administrators and half the teachers can give horrible experiences. On paper it should be an amazing school, and alot of teachers are good but the bad teachers outweigh the good ones. The administration is completely horrendous, Arvin Rajan is the worst principal in all of Calgary. He is completely unqualified for his position. He is incredibly rude to Parents and students with no empathy or understanding. That is the main problem with churchhill. If you can ignore the very obvious unfairness and controlling behaviour of Mr Rajan and how rude he can be along with many teachers. Then your churchhill experience will be great with teachers like Mr Fitz. Goodluck

Losetoffchurchground looks like a prison. Feels like a great way to slowly decline into sadness. Everyone I know who went here is pretty cool tho, so 1 star. However, my son went here and doesn’t have any kind words about the English department. They’re all out to get us. As a concerned parent, I’ve decided I’m going to send my son to Westmount, where nothing will be different. Thanks for losing the AHSMC, my son will not be attending a school that loses. Westmount has a better anime club. -Edmund

Just pray you don’t get a class with Ms. Jones (Comp Sci) or Ms.Rodriguez (Finance), they are blood sucking mosquitoes, they don’t have any knowledge about the subjects they teach and will recommend a website every time you ask a question, they will have you doing more work than core classes. On the other hand some good teachers are Mr. Zavaleta, Ms. Watson, Ms. Macauley, as well as Mrs and Mr Giannoustass.

Nice place to serve, secure guards, and the best of this prison is its small window that is impossible to escape

  • Fengyu Zou

Most teachers give grades BASED ON if they like u or not, not by the quality of ur work, lol
