I stumbled across Sky 55 last year when I was exploring the adjacent Elevated Acre at lunch one day. It was conveniently located near my office (though pretty subtle and tucked away - unless you're really paying attention to nearby temporary signage on the sidewalk, it's easy to miss), but I remember I hesitated to add it to my list of places to try for one reason and one reason only - overpriced drinks. When I returned to the office, multiple co-workers told me they'd been there and that was their overwhelming impression as well. No one seemed too enthused about returning, so I didn't go out of my way to try it myself. Last Friday though, a review of the seasonal lunch menu and a gloomy weather forecast made me reconsider and wander over to finally give this a shot. I don't mean this as an insult, but after seeing the interior of this place I wasn't surprised that their official website is manned by a hospitality group - this bar/restaurant could easily be housed in any Marriott just off the lobby. It definitely caters more to the higher-end business set with a lot of dark tables, furnishings, etc. I came by on a solo outing and was almost immediately brought over to one of the high tops in the bar area. Solid location and easy to catch the waitress' eye if needed. The highlight here unquestionably was the food. I'd had a hankering all day for pasta and went for the Cacio e Pepe (my intention was to get the Spaghetti Carbonara featured on their website, but it looks to be a little out of date - this was pretty close to that though) lunch entrée, which was about $15. Reasonable for the item and portion, and the food came out insanely quickly, probably less than five minutes after ordering. I mention this in literally every review when I dine alone for lunch in the Financial District, but the level of service you get in terms of wait time on the food is always excellent. I have yet to have a mediocre experience in that regard. And the pasta was very tasty. I'm not an expert on this dish, but I imagine that it's easy to go too heavy on the pepper, which didn't happen here. I thought it was perfectly seasoned and hit the spot. Sky 55's downfall predictably came with the alcohol. I already mentioned the higher prices for these cocktails even compared to others in the neighborhood, but they also MASSIVELY hit you up on the booze. When I sat down, the waitress asked me, "What kind of beer do you want?" She didn't ask broadly speaking what I wanted to drink, she went directly to the alcohol. It's largely marketed as a bar, I get it, but come on. Unnecessary. After a quick look at the menu I decided to get the Blackberry Bourbon Bramble ($19!). Honestly? Not that great; it was very watered down, which makes complete sense given that the glass it came in was FULL of ice. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that the cocktail itself was probably four or five ounces total when you removed the ice, if not less. And to further demonstrate how jampacked it was with ice, my last few sips of the drink involved me awkwardly having to lift the glass pretty high in the area because the little that was left in there was trapped under the mounds of ice. Coupled with the price, this was insulting. If I ever came back here, I'd stick with water on principle and focus solely on the food offerings. You have plenty of other boozy options in the neighborhood; I'd stop by any one of those before coming back here for a drink.

This place was a nice little surprise. Went with family after taking the ferry and couldn't find the original destination because that 55 Water street was in Brooklyn. We chose Sky55 for the al fresco dining near the water and weren't sorry. The menu has an array of items so everyone found something they enjoyed with no problem. I think I ordered one of the most interesting things on the lunch menu, which was a turkey burger done with greek fixings like tzatziki sauce, tapenade and feta cheese. It was on an English muffin, which added the perfect crunch. Had it with the house green salad and a jalapeno vinagrette. Skip the house made chips because they have to go to a different part of the building to pick them up instead of the kitchen that is in the restaurant. In all, if you're in the area and it's a beautiful day, sky's the limit here. Other dishes ordered: lobster roll, Cobb salad, shrimp scampi pasta. Everyone enjoyed.
Felt like I was at a different restaurant than all of the reviews. The outside “patio” isn’t decorated and looks so plain compared to pics on website or reviews. I ordered trio of sauces with potato chips. I was served fried wonton wrappers instead of the potato chips and not told until I asked what I was actually eating because it did not taste like potato. I had the dish removed and then ordered a charcuterie plate. As a server myself I would’ve sent it back to the kitchen and said I’m not serving anything with discolored crunchy prosciutto and large chunks of unnamed cheese. The bread was sliced so thin it would crumble whenever touching it. The server was kind as it wasn’t necessarily his fault but it was for sure a waste of money and time.

Deceitful operations alert. Last week, I ordered a happy hour drink during their happy hour and got billed the full price for the drink. I brought it up to the bartender's attention, who admitted the mistake and took the check back to the manager. After this, the bartender just avoided me. I got the attention of another bartender and explained to her what had happened and that I just wanted to make sure my bill was settled. She spoke briefly with the guy who billed me first, and then proceeded to bill me for the same drink, happy hour price this time. I'm looking though my credit card statements to find that they charged me twice for the same drink. The first bill was never voided. A few colleagues, who were with me that day at Sky 55, shared similar experiences with their bills. Be aware.

The staff was so kind and helpful. We were given recommendation and always checked on. The pear cocktail is by far my favorite cocktail I've ever had. I loved it. I tasted like a Pear pisco sour in a way. The touch of cinnamon on top is great. All the appetizers were great. The Parmesean sliders were just so Juicy but also crisp. Flavor was spot on. The nachos were also a nice spin on a nacho but with wanton crisps. The Arancini balls were not personally my favorite. But if you like fried cheese you may have more luck, the sauce with it was not my favorite though.

I had an incredible experience at sky55. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was fantastic. However, what truly stood out was the exceptional service from the bartender. His attentiveness, kindness, and cheerful demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. Kudos to the bartender for making my dining experience memorable. I highly recommend sky55 for not just the delectable cuisine but also for the outstanding hospitality!

I reached out to Sky55 to arrange a going away party for a friend for 14 people. Kayla was extremely helpful and communicative, making the evening a success. Our server Michelle handled the group like a pro. The drinks were AMAZING and readily refilled and the food was DELICIOUS. We felt like we were the only patrons in the place...we will definitely go back. Sky55 reopened better than ever! We will be back soon!

A wonderful new restaurant and bar. Had a lovely dinner there. The place has a great atmosphere. It’s elegant but not stuffy. Perfect spot for an after work hang out as well as a romantic date. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was delicious, my favorite was the octopus, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The cocktail menu has many attractive choices, I loved the perfect pair, fresh and fruity but not too sweet. Will definitely return
I had the most amazing experience during an after hours party that my company just works hosted. The manager Kayla automatically made me and my company feel at Holmes me comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed. One of the greatest host managers o have ever met. One of the r greatest experiences ever in a customer service environment

This place blew any type of average expectations I had out of the water! The service was warm and friendly, the music was great, and the drinks were made perfectly! I am pretty sure this is some of the best food in the entire city. Every single plate was just as unique and delicious as the last. If you are in the area, this is a must visit!!
Hidden gem walking distance from Wall Street. Great low-key spot for a Friday dinner. Food was tasty, price was decent and service was great! Highly recommended!

We would have loved to try Sky55 however we were denied entry to the ADA access and the escalators were not in service. Very disappointed in the discrimination by the elevator man who eyed my companion up and down and decides who does or does not have a disability. This happened today August 7 of the year 2023.

Great new spot for lunch. Sky burger was decadent, delicious and cooked to perfection. Open face asparagus sandwich flavorful, filling and indulgent enough without the feeling of guilt. Place is elegant but cozy and not intimidating. Looking forward to going back in the evening to try some of their promising cocktails

Drinks were great but I could not stay due to bugs in the restaurant. The doors are open during summer which is the cause. I asked them to close the door and they closed it half way. After that a dragon fly flew in. I then asked for my check, paid, then left.
I just had my first experience at Sky55. After being a long time customer at the Blue Bar I decided to try their new location. The environment is super friendly. The service is great, the atmosphere is inviting and the food pulls everything
Just today I was at Sky55 with my colleague for lunch. After we finished our meal, we decided to discuss further business dealings. A waitress asked us to leave shortly afterwards because according to here, "we were overstaying the allotted
If you’re looking for a getaway from the normal over crowded pub on Water Street in the financial district, than Sky 55 Bar and Grill is the hidden gem you’ve been looking for. Between the refreshing cocktails, scenic views and delicious
What a nice place for afterwork drinks!!!! I came in on Friday late afternoon not expecting much, it was the first cool evening and I didn’t want to walk far, so that’s why I stopped by, but wow, was I surprised! Great energy, music,
Fabulous venue for a private party; corporate or any personal/family event. The staff was professional and efficient, food was excellent. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

Bar food better than average. especially chicken sandwiches. Place is a bit tricky to find. Look for escalators coming to sidewalks. Outside of the bar, on the back there is a terrace with nice view of waterfront.
The food was better than I thought it was going to be walking up, the chicken sliders were good. And a nice view close

Service was great! The lunch menu looked delicious. Burger and soup was good and the building employees get a %20 discount. I like my water ice cold, so it was just slightly cool, but was fine.
Came here on a Friday after work and it was great. Dope happy hour, good tacos. I had a drink called Blame it on the Aperol that was delicious. If you're in the area I would stop by.
It was ok. I had a burger and the it was really good damn near high end. The fried potatoes were too starchy. I could tell they were not blanched. Had a decent whiskey sour.
The best drinks out there. The staff is great and the food is great. Nice place to spend a Friday night out. If you like it my review please check the thumbs up.
