I recently visited the Slug and Lettuce restaurant in Bristol with my family, and unfortunately, our experience fell far short of our expectations. As regular patrons of Slug and Lettuce, we were extremely disappointed by the quality of the food we received. The presentation was abysmal, resembling nothing more than heated leftovers. The standout disappointment was the burger sliders we ordered. Instead of the advertised miniature burgers, we were served a single burger that appeared to have been haphazardly chopped into four uneven pieces. To make matters worse, one of the pieces was even served upside down. The overall quality of the burger was shockingly poor, with a stale and greasy taste that was far from what we had anticipated based on the menu description. Also, mac 'n' cheese, which was anything but fresh. It appeared to be stale, old, and clearly reheated from a previous batch that had been made a long time ago. The taste and texture were equally disappointing. Additionally, some of the garlic bread slices we ordered were burnt, further contributing to our unpleasant dining experience. What saddened us the most was that we had chosen Slug and Lettuce based on our previous positive experiences with the brand. We had always regarded Slug and Lettuce as a reliable choice for a satisfying meal and enjoyable dining experience. However, the experience we had today was a complete departure from the high standards we associated with the brand. It was not only disappointing but also highly unexpected.

Went In for lunch with friends yesterday. Ordered our cocktails and took our seats. We had pre-ordered our lunch so waited for this to be brought to us. We waited and waited then went to the bar to enquire where our food was. I wish I’d taken a pic of this. Was meant to be Turkey Feast but looked like a chicken breast. It was so hard and dry we could hardly cut it. The broccoli was also so hard that I thought my plate would break before the broccoli did. The mashed potato was the best thing on the plate but that was cold. We were asked if everything was ok and we told her we were hardly able to eat it as it was so hard. She said she’d have a word with the chef. We didn’t see her again until we asked for our pre-ordered desserts. She said ‘you haven’t ordered desserts’ We know we had cos we’d been told we had to order two or three courses. She came back over and said the chef said he’ll prepare your desserts. We all ordered the ‘magnum double gold caramel billionaire’ When it came it was a magnum iced lolly with a bit of sauce ran over it with a couple of tiny frozen raspberries on top. All in all we are very disappointed and WILL NOT be going there again and will never ever recommend the venue to anyone. Such a shame cos the waterfront slug and lettuce is always perfect. The staff have a completely different attitude too

We went as a group after work. Because we were a large group, we'd had to pre-order our food. We'd ordered some food from the set menu but one of our group had then been contacted to say that, because the menu was changing the following week, we couldn't have the set menu. When we got to the venue, the manager(?), who was incredibly helpful, said he didn't know why we'd been told this as it was available. He explained that a completely different team, not at the venue, handled bookings. He then made sure we had the set menu. He was short-staffed and was working incredibly hard. The food was fine: what you'd typically expect. Paying was,good, with each of us able to pay individually. One point to note: tips go directly to the person serving you so are not shared out between the server and the kitchen staff; this is a real shame that back of house staff work can't be rewarded.

Went there for lunch, it's a big place and during the whole time we were there we only saw two other groups of people, so good if you want a roomy and quiet place for lunch where you can easily talk and hear other people. The meal deal was a bit odd, sandwich and soft drink for £7 but if you have a beer instead it went up to about £16. Ended up getting the meal deal with a soft drink (didn't want or drink it) and a beer which cost about £12 Food was OK but the amount of fish in the fish sandwich was low, other venues nearby are better giving twice as much for the same overall price (although I did have the extra soft drink I didn't want)

A lovely afternoon with great cocktails good food and fab service! I ordered the Jambalaya which came with a generous amounts of chicken and chorizo pieces. The cocktails were delicious and came with fun accessories or in cute containers. We were recommended the Watermelon cocktail by our server, who although not 18 and unable to drink the cocktails just yet, promoted watermelon cocktail due to the bottle it was served in! Thank you Lily! The interior is beautiful with lots of ambient lighting, the only suggestion would be to hoover the fake grass outside as there were a few bits of debris woven in. Overall a wonderful afternoon!

Wow the atmosphere was amazing but the staff not so much! After coming and realising it will just be us of colour we didn’t mind as the vibes seemed amazing but the staff made it their mission to not be helpful to the two people of colour. I asked if someone could clear our table as there was plates, sauces all over it. Staff rolled their eyes and did not come. I asked another person and was met with the same attitude. I ended clearing and cleaning the table myself. When staff did come they avoided our table. So dw I will not be back as we are not welcomed by the staff

Ollie was so attentive - nothing was too much trouble! His memory is incredible and was always checking to see if we wanted more drinks! We barely had to wait before we were served! Ollie knew what we wanted and adhered to our needs from the minute we turned up. What an asset to your company he absolutely deserves a pay rise! Ollie for CEO!!

Visited as a treat from my sister for my nephew's and I birthday for bottomless brunch on 11/11/23. It was busy which is a good sign,as at 2.30 I was thinking it would be quiet. Even though it was busy,our amazing waitess,Rachel, remembered our drinks order perfectly everytime,she was so polite and lovely,we wanted to ask her to join us! The food and cocktails were delicious,amazing value. Will definitely recommend and return. X

Our visit was excellent, will visit again next time we travel from Oxford. The girl that served us was very good and attentive. The only negative thing was why oh why are there two Slug and lettuces pubs in the same area as some of our party were taken by a taxi to the wrong one and they got soaked having to walk to the correct one where the rest of us were. I can only guess that the taxi driver did not not no this or didn’t care!

Food was average - my friend ordered a chicken burger that was way overdone - dry, hard breadcrumb coating. I ordered the crispy chicken noodle salad and got some hybrid of this and the grilled chicken and quinoa salad. It wasn't bad, but disappointing. The cocktails were lush, though. The atmosphere was just loud and messy, multiple hen/stag parties and a lot of very drunk people, lots of glasses being smashed around the place.

Terrible food and small portions. Items missing. Almost all of the menu is in cheap breadcrumbs or batter. Really loud music which made conversation almost impossible. Staff said they couldn't turn it down. Zero Christmas atmosphere on the 13th December. Clearly the formula is not working because it was not popular. Good points are it's a great building and it takes cash. Some staff trying to be nice in the middle of it all.

We had our wedding reception here yesterday and everything about it was superb. The staff were all friendly and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Great communication throughout the booking service and and on the day. The manager taking care of us was absolutely fantastic. I couldn't recommend this establishment more. They made our day extra special and we have memories here that will last a life time. Thank you to all the staff for making this day one we can remember!

I visited Slug and Lettuce last Saturday and had a horrible experience. The food I had was a tiny portion of cold and dry pancakes with few strawberries on top. Apart from that I've ordered 3 very small (Prosecco glasses size) non alcoholic cocktails and was charged £30 for all of this. Stonegate is making a huge profit from a very low quality food. In the end of my visit people started vomitting next to me and the whole path along the way to toilets was full of vomit.

Went for a 21st birthday bottomless brunch and our server Alisha was absolutely amazing, made sure we always had enough drinks which can be a problem when out for bottomless brunch, and was really lovely / attentive. Our food was all pretty burnt / not the best but overall the service was brilliant ❤️

Went for bottomless brunch for my birthday and Chloe was the first waitress that I have ever felt really truly deserve a tip and appreciation. She went above and beyond to make the whole experience so enjoyable - so friendly, was never empty handed when it came to our drinks. Best waitress I have ever had out of all the services including 5 star Restaurants… you Chloe deserve a pay rise!

Very disappointing experience here today, I’m not one to leave a negative review but this was shockingly bad something needs to be said. We got the 3 plates for £21 none of it was edible, all tasting like stale oil that had been left out for hours. We were the only group of people eating so there was no excuse for it to be so awful. Eating out nowadays is a treat this couldn’t of been any further from a treat.

They were changing the menu so weren't stocked with much. The food they did serve was ... Not enough?! No real atmosphere to speak of - but that's what 2-4-1 cocktails exist to solve. They were nice to my dog. That's always a plus. :)

We booked a table for a works event on Saturday evening. We were left standing at the bar for 30 minutes waiting to order a drink. At the end of the 30 minutes we were verbally attacked by a bar tender. We subsequently relocated to Revolution who were much more accommodating especially considering we hadn’t booked. NEWLY DECORATED. Everything is fresh and new from a recent redesigned. There is a new menu for food and drinks. I have been to Bristol Slug so many times over the years and this is the best look I have seen yet. I am looking forward to the summer garden parties and new cocktails.

Awesome vibe, amazing drinks menu. Everything is boozy, even desserts! Loved profitroli. Order via app, service a bit slow, but the place was busy. Liked the food, some cocktails are quite weak, but the app offers you discounted shots perpetually with every long cocktail.

Rachel has been absolutely incredible. She served us for our bottemless brunch, we go our drinks promptly and also has nice chats with her. She is a huge asset to the team here!!

Loads of cougars but a girl behind the bar called Chloe was an absolute GEM super helpful and got us out of a possible situation so big props to her. Management give this woman a raise or at least some extra tips cause 10/10 service. Everyone else fine.

1st class experience, far better than I expected doing the bottomless lunch deal. Rachel took good care of us, she was great, attentive but not intrusive. Rachel had the makings of a 1st class host.
