Avoid this computer repair shop. I am not sure how they are getting such high ratings which influenced my decision to contact them. I would give them minus rating but one * is lowest I can go. I went to this repair shop on 4 August 2023 with 2 problem - flickering on a tablet which they said they would not be able to solve and a laptop connecting to 4G signal but not to 5G signal which they said they could not do anything about and leave the WiFi device at 4G signal, the opinion expressed by other computer firms earlier. However, this they claimed was half service and charged £30 for it. On my expression of dissatisfaction they issued a non VAT receipt and put a hand written note for redemption in future.

Would have put less then one star if I could. When he came to my house he keept exlaining the situation very fast and diddn't seem to consider that I might not have intricate knowlege of how my pc works. I tried to explain what I wanted him to do but he kept interrupting me with his own explinations and never let me finish. Then he walked out on me saying he wasn't taking the job becuase of my behaviour and that he would not refer me to anyone else becuase he diddn't want anyone he knew to have to deal with me. I admit I was a little slow to grasp the situation but I did nothing to deserve that treatment. He was impatiant, rude, unhelpful, uncopritive and very unprofesional.

I'd genuinely given up hope on my dead hard drive, but George was having none of it! I've been working on my second book for two years, and I thought I was going to lose all that work. George not only saved my files, he also fixed my computer and got it working faster than it's ever been in less than three hours, and for an insanely reasonable price. Knowledgeable, friendly and a lovely man to boot. I can't recommend Smithdown Computers enough!

Long story short. Laptop needed an urgent repair for work. Tried locally and was told 7 days. Called laptop repair centre on Smithdown road and was told bring it in, it'll take about an hour. I handed over the what I thought was the agreed price of the repair £60. He handed £20 back and told me we'd agreed £40! What more can you ask for? Professional Efficient and Honest-what more can you ask for?

I have no words to express how satisfied I am with Smithdown Computers. After many difficulties with faulty components I got directly from manufacturer , George manage to build my desktop PC. A gaming rig with Water Cooling solution. Hugh case, lot of cables. A true expert and an even better person! I highly recommend this little PC place. You will not be disappointed.

Laptop had a broken hinge which had caused the screen to pop out. Took for some advice and they fixed it within 3 days, having ordered the part in, and charger £50 for a couple of hours labour. Job was more complex than originally expected but they were happy to do it at no extra cost. Really friendly service too.

Excellent service, I have been going to George for over 15 years, he has always guided and helped me through the tech world, he is very honest truthful, I have even seen him Dave a student $300 by a simple change switch, hr is fantastic, honest truthful reliable , and always a good laugh

After phoning up and staff explaining which screen to buy online. I took my Mac in to the shop and it took an hour to fix at a VERY cheap price in comparison to Apple’s £500 estimate! Excellent service and would recommend to everyone if their laptop gets broken to give them a call!

Phoned Smithdown Computers yesterday afternoon about a problem with my MacBook. George told me to pop it in today. An hour later and it was fixed. Never cost an arm and a leg like I suspect tI would had I taken it to the Apple Chapel. Top bloke too, Highly recommended.

I had a graphics card hardware failure on an old PC system. George was able to advise on the appropriate replacement gpu, + then fitted + configured it for a very reasonable price. Great friendly service, + won't push new hardware onto you just for the sales value.

Phoned up with a problem late afternoon with my computer. Told to bring it in and within an hour problem sorted. Even offered to stay back the extra hour with no extra charge to fix it. I highly recommend for customer service, speedy service and price.

Great advice and service. Explained over the phone the problem and was advised to bring it in. At 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon he diagnosed the fault and it was all fixed and cleaned up by 4 o'clock all for £80, brilliant.

Excellent service today, thought my computer was totally knackered and was in a pickle as I needed it fast for work. the guy fixed it in a matter of hours, was really friendly and really helpful. Would definitely recommend.
