We have taken our pets to Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic (SFPC) since we moved to Phoenix in 2011. We were always delighted to see Dr Grossman. He and his staff were always professional, diligent, approachable, patient and understanding. Dr. Grossman took the time to answer our questions, so we felt not only involved, but also confident in the care that our pets received. Dr. Grossman retired, in 2022. Another vet & an entirely different staff, took over the care of our dog Joey. They had big shoes to fill, we have tried to be patient during the transition. It has been a year, and our frustrations have persisted. In October 2023, Joey had his Annual Wellness exam. Extensive lab work was drawn & we received the results the following day. As they were unable to catch a urine specimen, I went to the office the following day with his specimen. I asked to talk to the vet about Joey's abnormal results. When I couldn't speak to the doctor, the receptionist asked me what I needed. I told her, I was concerned about an abnormal liver test. She asked me if we had feed Joey before bringing him to the office. I had given him his anti-anxiety meds with a little bit of peanut butter. She said that eating before labs can cause abnormal results. Not satisfied, I asked again. An assistant, walking past the desk, gave me the same answer about feeding Joey before his appointment. Still not satisfied, I asked if they could check with Dr Westphal about repeating the lab test. My question & concerns, were ignored. Once again, I was told that most likely, the peanut butter caused the elevated lab results. I left the office, frustrated & disturbed. A few days later, I received an envelop containing Joey's records, & a brief note from the Private Practice Administrator, saying, "It has come to our attention that you have indicated displeasure with our services and healthcare team multiple times. It appears that we are no longer able to fulfill your veterinary needs to your satisfaction and, therefore are unable to retain you as a client with our practice. For this reason, we would like to suggest that you select another veterinary practice to provide medical services for little Joey." This is after paying well over $300, less than a week earlier, and being told that Joey was healthy even with abnormal lab results.. While it was upsetting to be fired by our vet, it was more upsetting that the practice administrator never talked with us, or gave us an opportunity to discuss, the nature of our dissatisfaction. Of note, any practice that fails to listen to their clients concerns, and allows a receptionist to determine if follow-up labs should be done, is not a practice that is concerned about my dog's health. Update: We were successful in our search for a new & very professional veterinary practice. Joey was seen yesterday. Our new Vet was alarmed at Joey's previous test results. She ordered another, more extensive panel which was drawn in the office. Upon reviewing Joey's chart, she zeroed in on the Renal diet dog food that Dr. Westphal had prescribed last spring. Prior to starting that renal diet, Joey's blood work had always been normal. I stopped in this morning and our new vet came out, promptly, to talk with me about Joey's lab results. The liver test was more elevated than a month ago, and his triglycerides were now elevated to the point that he may need to start a new medication. She instructed me to stop feeding him the renal diet food that he has been on since last spring. She is concerned that Joey's liver may have been compromised, and she plans to monitor him closely for the next few months, or until this issue is resolved. SFPC's apparent lack of concern for Joey's health is UNACCEPTABLE! Dr. Grossman would never had done such an egregious thing. If I could give this clinic zero stars I would have done so, and that would have been generous.

I came into the office in a panic as my kitten got outside and when we found her she was barely alive and I rushed her to the closest vet, this one. The doctor and vet techs immediately took me into the back and very quickly assessed the situation and there was nothing they could do for her besides end her pain and suffering. And they didn't waste time with paperwork (I signed a euthanasia form)or waiting for a doctor. They let me stay in the room while they put her down. When it was over they didn't even charge me, and I had never been there before, I wasn't a client of theirs or anything. They even sent me a card with that said they were sorry for my loss. To find a vet that isn't trying to overcharge you for everything or a vet that refuses to even assess an animal without payment is very hard to find. These guys are not veterinarians to make money, they are veterinarians because they care about people and their pets. I was touched by the kindness they showed me during such a sad time.

This is as "Mom n pop" as it gets and I LOVE IT! I love being able to support a small business of caring animal lovers vs a corporation w/ rotating doctors. This way, you build rapport and the vet can really get to know your dog! It is a quaint office with several rooms.( I believe they also have good equipment for xrays if needed.) The entire staff is incredibly helpful, sweet and fun loving. The doctor, Dr. Grossman, is extremely knowledgeable, caring, patient with questions, humble and experienced (I think he has over 30+ yrs as a vet). They were kind, compassionate and sincere when my older dog passed, even sending a hand written sympathy card. There is only one doctor(I think there maybe another doctor who rotates when he is off, who I have not met) which makes the more experience personal. I will continue bringing my younger dog here and hopefully for many more years to come! Thank you for all you guys do!

Have gone to this animal clinic since day 1 of getting my dog, went there for 7 years, and was extremely fortunate that my dog didn’t get sick. Well this week she must of gotten into bush or bitten by a critter in my backyard and had an awful eye infection. Called vet at 1:45pm hoping they could get my dog in for a visit quickly the next day, The receptionist told me they could see my dog in 10 DAYS! I was obviously extremely upset at the fact that the 1 TIME my dog was ill, I was told to give her Benadryl and if that didn’t work take her somewhere else to get looked at. So if you are looking for a place to care about your fur baby do not choose Sonoran Foothills Animal Clinic because when you need them they will tell you to go to another place! Called Daisy Mountain Veterinary and they were able to get her in the next day and actually had a cancellation so saw her this morning and took care of her!

Tryin to find a lifelong vet for my new cat. Tried to book an appointment. Requested one on website, was told by email to give them a call. Ended up having to call 3 times cuz the phone kept breaking up. I wouldn't have an issue but it was just the manner it happened. The first time happend mid conversation with a woman named Kaylen. I called right after it broke up the first time, and she put me on hold for 5 more minutes, which i found weird cuz she was helping me in the first call less than 5 seconds before. The second call broke up while I was on hold for 5 minutes. I called one last time and she answered but hung up. It was frustrating as hell. Didn't even get a call back from them or any explanation during the calls. The phone reception wasn't choppy and she could clearly hear me the first call. It def felt like she was just hanging up lol. I dont get good vibes from this experience

We have been going to Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic since 2010 and are lifelong customers. Dr. Grossman and his staff always take excellent care of our animals and we always receive consistent and reliable service. Dr. Grossman is very knowledgeable about Animals and we never feel like a number or just another customer. Lastly, vet services can sometimes be very expensive, but with Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic we never feel like we are getting price gouged. The cost of services is always manageable and we always leave feeling like our pets are well taken care of. I would highly recommend Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic over other vets in the Anthem / Daisy Mountain / Carefree Highway area.

We’ve been seeing Dr Grossman for the past 10 years. He is a wonderful vet and is such a nice man. He is extremely knowledgeable and very compassionate. In the past then years we have brought our three cats and three dogs to see Dr. We have had to put one cat to sleep and two dogs diagnosed with heart murmurs and all times he has been honest and kind. Plus his office staff especially Wendy, is helpful, kind and accommodating with our family. We will never go to anywhere else!

I have to say they gave my little girl, the best care ever. Dr. Westphalia is so sweet and tender. Sadie fell in love with her immediately. When my little girl was spayed and had to have four baby teeth extracted her nurse Rebecca gave Sadie the best one on one personal care by keeping her wrapped with heated towels, since she was extremely cold from surgery, now that is a personal touch you want for your fur babies. Thank you all for such awesome service and care.

Great, friendly, patient staff who had quick availability to fit our dog in for an injury that needed attention quickly. The rates were also reasonable and possibly even lower than Banfield (even with our Banfield "Wellness Plan" and its discounted Banfield rates). Our dog did not need emergency assistance, but we definitely couldn't wait for the other vets in the area who were booked out weeks/months in advance. Thank you!

Making the difficult decision to put a pet to sleep is never a good day for anyone. Dr. Westphal and her team truly cared about our kitty and made us feel like family. The room they had prepared was so comforting (warm blanket and soft lighting as well as a small poem about the rainbow bridge) our baby was not afraid and passed with love and peace. Thank you so much for making an unbearable moment better.

They were great, got our dog taken care of and her nails clipped up nicely, they made us feel like we were there priority and like they truly cared about helping us and our dog spade!. We thought are dog was gonna be put down and they were able to at least spare some more time and that made my mother beyond happy and for that & the latter I'm forever grateful, thanks and keep doing great things!..

Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic is Superb!!! I have been to a few “reputable” Vets in The Valley, who overcharged and under-cared! Dr Grossman is knowledgeable and Genuinely cares about his patients! My Dogs LOVE him, and so do I! Office visits are affordable and almost Half of what other Vets in The Valley hace charged me in the past. The staff is friendly and genuinely care! ❤️

Thus far we have loved Dr. Grossman and his staff. They've always made sure we were comfortable and had all the information we needed and never talked down to us. While the somewhat limited hours can be a bit of a hassle (only open every other Saturday) it's definitely well worth the minor problems. I would recommend Dr. Grossman to any pet owner in the area.

Caring, empathetic, and PROFESSIONAL. Dr. Westphal is an amazing veterinarian, and I’m so glad that we were able to find her again. We were told by Academy West Animal Hospital that she’s no longer practicing at all, which couldn’t be farther from the truth. Her and her staff are wonderful people and I’ll be referring my family and friends here.

When I first came to this clinic as a new patient, they got us in quickly. Now that my dog has an injury and needs attention, they are scheduling two weeks out. They did offer to do a drop off, but that means my injured dog will be laying around in their kennel all day, and I do not get to be present when she is evaluated. Very disappointed.

Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic is wonderful! They have have cared for our pups for the last 10 years since we moved to the area. Always great to see them when we visit and trust them with the care of our lil girl. Also, when my parents moved to the area and got a new pup, I told them there was no one better! Highly recommended!

We just moved to AZ with our senior dog (15 yrs old) so finding a good vet was very important to us. We chose Sonoran Foothills because it was a small clinic. They were friendly and we appreciated they didn't overcharge us for things our dog doesn't need unlike what we had experienced before. We would recommend this clinic

Great Neighborhood Vet Clinic. We love Dr. Grossman. Him and his staff are kind and loving to our pets. They are very knowledgeable, courteous and take the time to answer questions and give information about treatment our pets. They keep up with us for annual check ups and let us know when vaccines are due.

I would have liked to have been inside with Shantay while receiving her treatment, but do understand/appreciate your health concerns for yourself and the staff. Hopefully by this time next year it will be back to normal for visits. Thank you for all the caring you obviously have for your 4 legged patients.

My dog had a cough and they wanted thousands of dollars in testing before treatment. Animals should not cost more than human treatment period. They will refuse to treat your pets unless you pay them a ridiculous amount of money for unnecessary testing, vaccines, anything they can get you to pay for.

Doctor Westphal is honestly the most kind, sincere, genuine vet I’ve ever met. Her compassion for my situation was so heartfelt and meaningful. I got some pretty bad news today and she helped guide me in the right direction. I’ve found my new vet, my forever vet. Thank you Dr. Westphal. ♥️

Love the staff & are always quick and helpful. They schedule their appointments perfect so theres always no wait time. I've been to other vets in the past and the amount of time at those visits were always so long, sometimes over 2 hr long, you never have to wait at Dr. Grossmans office.

This place is like no other veterinarian I've ever been to. It is very nice and quaint, it is family owned and they really give you the undivided attention as if you are part of it too! They have a really decently priced package for puppy shots and check ups.

This group of caring and talented staff care for our Muggs like he is their own. They talk to him during exams and calm him. They do follow-up calls after meds are admined to make sure he is tolerating them and to see how he is dong. Love this staff and Dr.

Excellent veterinary services and care here. Dr. Grossman is a very skilled pet physician, and his staff is supportive and helpful. Been going here for nearly 10 years. They DO NOT try to run up the bill, as my former avian vet does.

Dr. Westphal is the best! She never tries to “over-treat”, so when she makes a suggestion, I know she listened and is doing the best thing for my dogs. And all of the techs that work with her have the kindest hearts!
