Everyone's going to have a bad experience at some point. There's some harsh reviews here... I've been a very regular customer (almost daily) of this bakery for 10 years now. 99% of the time, everything is good. No problem with any food. Never been sick. It's a no frills bakery. Prices are good and theyre not trying to be hip and fancy like most other bakeries in the area. About the biggest problem I've had is having to wait a while because someone decides to order 5 Vietnamese rolls (for breakfast) and there's only been one person there to serve. However, sometimes logic prevails and they will serve other waiting customers first.
This place has nice bread but the set up of the store is unprotected. There are flys where food is stored also have no hygiene especially in the covid time no covid check-in, no gloves used by staff, no sanitiser, instead if have seen a worker pick her nose then sever a customer. The worker girl said the wait for fress rolls was 15 minutes, witch then turned into 20 more minutes which then turned into 30 more minutes. The place still only accepts only cash, especially with covid it's not ideal to use cash. The place looks like a bunch a things where just put into the space with no though of making it look nice.
This humble bakery is a favourite of mine the bread and rolls are the best in the St George area dust far. If your after perfectly fresh bread and rolls this is the bakery to go too best time is from 7am and before 11am or else you will miss out!!! Not only that the rolls stay fresh the following day. They also have other treats and goodies their as well but for me it's the rolls. I have popped in to other bakeries in the St George area and not one of them matches this little gem this is why I have rated it so high and I do highly recommend it.
I’m not going to give a bad star rating as I don’t believe in unnecessary trashing of hard working small businesses online. However I wasn’t happy that they still don’t accept card payments, especially in this Covid-19 era. You guys do great bread, please look after everyone’s safely and enter 2020 guys!
I haven’t even been able to try this bakery - but not from lack of trying. Firstly, it’s CASH ONLY. Come on. Secondly, there’s usually only one person serving which is so frustrating at lunch time when people are ordering pork rolls etc. and you just want to grab a loaf of bread.
**edit: Apple buns were way too sweet sickly, and I find the service can always be a lot better (less grumpy) Omg I tried the donuts today and now I can't stop thinking about them! Heavenly! Also tried their croissants which were really good, not greasy. I will be coming again.
Excellent Vietnamese owned bakery. The prices were very reasonable, really fresh baked breads, sweets and other goods. Frequented often by shoppers, everything was well made and delicious. Parking is plentiful near the front. Only downside was that they didn't have EFTPOS.
Been here a couple times and always had the sausage roll, pies and bread - so delicious! It’s definitely my favourite bakery to go to in Hurstville and recommend everyone to give them a try! Prices are much much cheaper compared to buying from pie face or other bakeries.
Definitely one of the best bakeries in South Hurstville! Recommend going to them often as they are very friendly and have delicious date & walnut cakes, banana bread, hot bread and croissants. I’ve tried other baked goods from them and highly recommend this bakery.
Small unassuming bakery in South Hurstville. Really nice pies, bought a beef, bacon and cheese pie, the pastry and meat filling were tasty. Also nice mini pizza bread. Lovely friendly lady that serves, Would defs visit again.
Such a great little bakery with nice bread. I had to order 300 long rolls for a fund-raiser and the lady owner was like no problem. Great service and very friendly
This rating is for their individual custart tarts. Always consistent , firm and delicious. Have been buying for many years. Just got a warm fresh one...delicious.
In the Thursday paper they had a photo of a Rat in front of the Bread shop?, and were fined $440.00 from the Health Department.
Love the fresh bread, great price, also great treats like gingerbread cookies and custard rollovers
I inhaled the chocolate dip, better go back for seconds The soft rolls aren’t bad either… …
Severe food poising from a pie yesterday . Severe - I will never return - …
When you go past this bakery the smell of baking bread draws you in
Try one of their curry pies, absolutely the best around.
Fresh bread, rolls, cakes, pies & pastries.
They make tasty filled rolls to order
Rude staff, but good tasty bread
