I was a patient here from a very young age until around 25 years old. Most of the time I was treated by Dr. Glockner. I would highly not recommend doing business at this practice, as I found them to highly exaggerate potential problems, focus on negative aspects of my dental health, not always perform adequately, and not provide much, if any, positive feedback about things I was doing well. Dr. Glockner first began by always telling me I had to have my wisdom teeth removed, starting at age 16 when none of them had broken the surface of my gums. I waited until I was 21 to have them out, which was a significant surgery given I had to be unconscious for the entirety of the operation. This was after her having told me many times, unsolicited, that I needed them out. When I finally did see her about a month after having them out, she had no positive response about it, but instead was focused on another "problem" I had, grinding my teeth. She once made a comment that I wouldn't have any teeth by the time I was in my thirties due to the grinding issue, which obviously worried me greatly. I had to eventually start taking anti-anxiety meds prior to my appointments with them as I was too nervous due to the constant negative feedback and total lack of any positive feedback from them, mainly her. One time, after having felt as though I'd been pestered enough times, after she asked me why I grind my teeth, I said "bad genes." She then asked me, "Who do you blame, your mom or your dad?" To this day I don't understand the point of asking me a leading question like that. It felt like she had escalated the situation and I probably responded like that as I was tired of being tormented by my supposedly life altering teeth grinding problem, which again I feel was exaggerated. She also drilled and filled a cavity on the same tooth of mine three times within a few years, which seems incompetent. The final straw for me was an experience with Dr. Samborski. I had been experiencing burning mouth syndrome for the first time for about a week and decided to see them about it. This was during Covid and I almost was denied my appointment because my temperature was too high, even though it was hot outside, but of course that was never mentioned as the cause by the staff. I did eventually get in, and after Dr. Samborski examined my mouth, she appeared very shocked and alarmed, and basically thought I could have oral cancer. She never tried scraping anything in my mouth and didn't spend much time investigating, they may have taken pictures, but regardless they referred me to an oral pathologist, who did scrape my mouth and examined it very closely and found absolutely no signs whatsoever of any kind of cancer or pre-cancer. I lost a few nights of sleep due to Dr. Samborski's inaccuracy and swore off ever going to this practice again. EDIT: This is in reply to the owner's first response. I understand you wanted to keep me aware of my mouth conditions, but I don't think some of the comments were necessary, like telling me I wouldn't have any teeth by my thirties. Comments like that escalated my already heightened fears, and created additional unneeded anxiety given I was already anxious enough to purchase a mouthguard from you. I never mentioned anything at my appointment as I didn't anticipate being listened to and didn't think it would make a difference. The biopsy comment confirms my suspicions of not being listened to as no biopsy was ever performed. I appreciate your response, however I think my comments here are sufficient to not warrant a phone call.

My kids and I started coming here after being referred by a neighbor. We hadn't had a dentist after my childhood dentist retired and I had a few bad experiences with different trials elsewhere. The attention to patient care at this clinic is phenomenal. I have quite a bit of dental anxiety and they are so good about it. There are screens in the exam rooms that rotate through different tips and helpful information (including managing anxiety), TVs for distraction, and they will play calming music on request. When they do your exams and procedures it is all done in an exceptionally gentle way with stress reducing tactics and approaches embedded in their instruction and service. My young kids have seen Caitlyn for their appointments, and I am convinced she could moonlight as a Kindergarten teacher. She is so attentive, responsive, and playful with them. Within minutes of arriving for our last visit my daughter went from being nervous to excited about being there. They also give out really nice goody bags and toys at the end of visits, and the front staff are very kind and welcoming. Our dentist is Dr. Samborski, but we have also seen Dr. Glockner once. Both are wonderful, caring, and very personable. Their consultations are very honest and patient-centred, and they'll help you find a oral health plan that works with your lifestyle and budget. I would highly recommend either and this clinic and general, they are amazing!

Hygienists and Dentist staff: Wonderful, professional and very accomodating. I know very little about their practice, but they take the time explain what they are doing if you ask. They are very personable, and I feel they do wonderful work. Administration: Again, very professional. They do direct billing to blue cross, and are very fast. They follow up well, always phoning to book cleanings when necessary. Facility: Very well maintained and tidy. The overall appearance seems organized. The building seems new or recently renovated. The waiting room doesn't make it feel like you are in a dental/medical office at all. There's toys for the kids, and a tv for distraction. The dental equipment represents similar to the rest of the facility, operational and maintained. The dental rooms are also equipped with TVs for the patients while the hygienists and dentists do their thing. That's a nice touch! Overall, for a person who has never liked going to the dentist, I really like this dental office. I have recommended them many times.

As a fairly new customer my initial thoughts were positive as I felt this practice was good with their clients and exercised good judgment and common sense. But most recently I think I may have been lied to as the desk staff told me I must wear a mask citing the MB Dental Association Guidelines. These guidelines were actually amended on July 1st removing the 'requirement' for patients. I was then told to go in the bathroom and wash my hands. After completing this task I was then asked to leave the facility, go back to my vehicle, and wait until someone called me to advise me they were ready. By the time I was simply unlocking my vehicle door I received that call. This entire experience made me feel like a toddler in kindergarten again. It's acceptable to implement policies that, with merit, mitigate risks when elevated but I did not feel that this experience was warranted considering the climate we're currently in. I have serious reservations about returning.

My second visit here. This time I had a chipped tooth which ended up being a previous filling that was broken. The dental team was very friendly and easy to deal with. The hygienist that I saw was very soft spoken which is calming for me as I hate dentist visits. One of the clamps on my tooth kept slipping off and she was doing everything she could to make sure it didn’t hurt me. The dentist was very similar and easy to talk to. My mouth always gets sore when I have it open for any length of time so they offered me a bite block which was extremely helpful. The team was extremely fast once the procedure started. Efficient and quick. The whole process took longer to setup than the actual fix. I also like that they give a break down of what things are actually going to cost you for approval. Very professional I will definitely be back here for my regular checkups

Everyone knows it kind of sucks going to see the dentist. Not here, maybe I’m weird but I really enjoy the company of Dr Samborski and the assistant Jennifer. They have fun conversation, keep things light and are always looking out for my best interest. I had to get an extraction and she made 100% sure I couldn’t feel a thing, despite my insistence that I’d be fine. She even cued into when I was fibbing that I couldn’t feel it anymore. (It’s what my experience was with previous dentists, who often got frustrated that freezing doesn’t take as well on me as most patients and went ahead with the painful procedures anyways). The team always makes me feel comfortable and ensures my dental plan revolves around my priorities. If your looking for a new dentist, this is the place to go.

The service at Southdale Square Dental Centre is fantastic. The people there are very friendly, efficient in their work and very adaptable. I became a client here at the start of the year and required x-rays. They were super flexible when it came to my decision to delay one of the x-ray's till slighter later so my benefits covered everything. The facility itself is just as pleasant as the staff within and the wide range of open hours makes it ideal for booking after work. I've not had any complications with my teeth since starting so I cannot attest to any experience having had complex operations here, but everything so far has only pointed to their stellar competence and exceptional client relations. Cannot recommend them enough.

Dr. Samborski and Maddie the hygienist are both the sweetest. They made me feel so comfortable during my recent treatments at Southdale Dental. They were so efficient (I was in and out within the hour!) And made the time fly by with the most interesting conversation. They actually take time to build a personal relationship with you which is so hard to find nowadays. The front desk staff are equally as lovely and so accommodating. Love that they can text to book and confirm appointments as my work doesn't always allow me to talk on the phone. I am a lifetime patient here thanks to this team. Can't remember ever being excited to go to the dentist so they have done the impossible!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place . Wow they are always so friendly and professional and when u enter they make u feel welcomed . I've been coming here for over 20 years, they have been great at extractions and preventative measures. However, lately the new people who clean your teeth before the actual dentist comes in have been not so great. I have a good pain tolerance and have never needed to ask them to stop during a cleaning. But the last young woman I had was poking my gums every few seconds during the whole cleaning. She said my gums would be bleeding a bit after because I haven't had a cleaning in about 6 months. But that is no reason for my whole mouth to be bleeding for hours. I used to love coming here as a kid, but now not so much.

Favourite dental clinic. I had the same dentist since i started going as a kid. Unfortunately, he retired and my family and I had to look for a new office to go to. I had tried a few different ones I wasnt too fond of, but heard great things about Southdale so I started going there. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Everytime Ive went Ive had a different dental hygienist and they've been great everytime! I couldn't even request a specific hygienist or dentist because they've all been awesome. I recommend this office to everyone when the topic comes up in conversation :)

Last year very good appointment with Crystal , she is patient, professional and explained everything clearly to me. She is nice to talk to, I lost part of the fear about going to see dentists because of that. This year I met Britney, she is efficient and fun to work with. I’m leaving the city but Britney still try to find a solution to retain me, great services and energy! I defiantly gonna miss Southdale Square Dental Centre. And a huge thanks to my doctor who gives me valuable advice for both my dental health and looking for other clinics in another city!

I have been going to this dentist office since I was child. I remember the different layout with the toys in the waiting room. I hated the dentist, still do to this day but I've never once over my years of coming here have had a bad experience. The staff are gentle, kind, and knowledgeable. They have made the dentist a more comfortabl eexperience ever since I was a little kid coming with my dad and now as an adult coming on my own. If I ever move out of the city I would want to find a way to come back just so my cleanings can be done here.

Very clean, super friendly, knowledge staff. Dr. Glockner is friendly and professional. That said, I was a bit surprised that I was charged an additional 60 dollars on top of a scaling procedure for her to look at my teeth for a few minutes, which was not covered by my insurance. That was unexpected and expensive. Overall, this is a great office and I recommend it. I've been here for a few decades. I was just surprised at the unexpected expensive billing. Be sure to ask if any extra costs will be incurred throughout your procedure.

I’ve had 3 appointments so far and have always gotten in right at the appointment time.Excellent customer service and dental work. Receptionists greet you promptly and complete billing in a quick and efficient manner. Dr Currie does amazing work, didn’t think I could find a dentist comparable to my previous one. Hygienists are thorough and quick. Imaging equipment and tools are up to date. Dentist and Hygienist take time to explain equipment and results thoroughly. Environment is clean and welcoming.

Absolutely love Dr.Glockner and Dr.Curry as well as all their staff. I have never felt more comfortable and welcomed than I have at this dentist. I have always been so scared to go to the dentist but NOW I cant wait to go and get my check ups. I also bring my children in now (4yrs and 11yrs) that have had such a dramatic experience from another dentist. They are so so good with children as well... Couldn't recommend a dentist more then Southdale Square dental. 5stars aren't even enough...

Love this dental centre! Always a good experience and especially appreciate the polite and dedicated staff and the dentists who are great with adults and children alike. I especially appreciate their skill in helping make a fearful child comfortable and ensure they leave with a smile on their face! They [partially] restored my faith in dentists and hygienists. I have had a bad experience with dentists in another province before and had since avoided visiting a dentist until my wife dragged me in for a cleaning. The dentist was methodical and precise in explaining things to me and had high standards of how things should be which I appreciate. The hygienist was methodical and thorough in cleaning my teeth.

I wish I could rate higher than 5 starts. I am blown away by how amazing the dentists are here. My 3 year old has his first cavity and I was very nervous about how he would do during the filling. The dentist was so amazing with kids and so positive and warm he actually enjoyed his filling! I am so happy with this place. I’ve been going here since I was a kid and I’ve only had amazing experiences.

I had to go in for an emergency extraction I honestly was not expecting to have the tooth pulled the same day as it was all very last minute. Dr. Glockner caught an issue with my teeth that no other dentist had previously told me about that explained why i was constantly chipping and cracking teeth. I have seen every dentist and hygienist in this office over the years. They are friendly and excellent in their vocation. Having lived coast to coast this is by far the best dental office I have ever attended. Not only are they great with me but my daughter has also been here and they are amazing with children as well. This was my first time at this clinic for myself and my two year old. The atmosphere was very welcoming right away. My experience with Dr Currie was great! My teeth are terrible but I didn’t feel judged or embarrassed at all. The staff were friendly and sincere. They always make my little one feel safe and welcomed. They are so patient with him and make him feel calm when he gets anxious. Recently he had some trauma to a tooth that required x-ray and they were so patient with him when he wouldn’t sit still. They also calmed my nerves as well! will always 100% reccomend.

Dr. Samborski did an amazing job fixing my crown. She is always professional and upbeat and I really appreciated her diligence in this fix as there was a larger gap to manage which would have resulted in tooth decay over time. I had a cracked filling at 10:00 am on a Saturday, and they were able to get me in at 12:50 the same day. Not a lot of dentists are open on the weekends, so that was a huge deal. All the staff and hygienists/assistants were very friendly, easy going, and professional. I cannot recommend enough.
