We've been to SEVO twice with our Aussie. 2021 for Autoimmune, the outcome was terrific, she spent a week receiving care and blood transfusions and transport to First Coast ER for overnight care. Our second encounter was for Lymphoma, and treatment began that day with Chemo. Second treatment resulted in Sepsis which we were not apprised of. This resulted in a fast hour long drive to First Coast ER. SEVO recommended she be brought to thier clinic. Her condition worsened. I was not notified. I called in the afternoon at 3pm. I was instructed that she was going to need overnight care back at First Coast. I was instructed that I would need to transport as SEVO under new ownership doesn't provide the service anymore. Another fast hour trip and transport a severely ill and now dieing animal. Dr. Newman had just left on vacation and we didn't know who was in charge. The next day our beloved Aussie was critical and on life support. The hard decision was made, after I had to track down the acting physician at SEVO who was in charge, which I desperately needed to consult with. I'm extremely dissatisfied that transport to ER First Coast was no longer available and that during a crisis I had to track down the physician. It's been over a week since our little one passed and not one call, email or any communication has been received. I feel the service we received on our second encounter with SEVO was about the money. Not about care for both the animal or the Parents. We were told Quality of Life. I feel this could have been handled so much better if we were informed about the possibility of Sepsis. Our Aussie should have remained at First Coast for life saving care. We should have known who would be the acting physician to consult with and lastly, reach out to the grieving family. Since this is your patient. (Cleo) Aussie Shepherd.
The entire staff here are phenomenal. Starts with superior customer service by the amazing front desk team. Every phone call, they are so kind and polite. Calls pet parents "mom" or "dad" instead of "owner" which always makes me cringe to hear. Greets my boy when he walks in and talks to him. We have seen both Dr Neumann and Dr Deitz but mainly Dr Deitz for a couple years now for a bunch of different issues (abdominal tumor/ultrasound, heart disease/echo, and anemia/blood). My boy and I have a lot of trust and respect for Dr Deitz. She takes great care of him and keeps me filled in with all the different details of everything. It can be overwhelming sometimes to travel over an hour one-way with my Senior boy. But once we get there, I am always glad we made the trip. Dr Deitz lets me ask plenty of questions and will return my calls if I think of more things to ask once I get home. She always compliments my boy whether it be on a toy he brought, his curly hair, or his phenomenal temperament. Makes me feel like he is not just 'her next appointment', but that we matter. I've had a full blown crying breakdown once and Dr Deitz was compassionate. We have seen dozens of doctors through the years, so trust me when I say the Sevo team stands out to us due to their genuine concern and quality of information. A note on Dr Neumann who we saw once for a tumor and an ultrasound/aspirate ... he is also spectacular. Will talk to you like he's known you and your dog forever and you'll swear by the end of the consult that your kiddo must be his fave! Then you realize he is just great at what he does. I was fearful my then-13 year old couldn't handle surgery and it wasn't really optional ... Dr Neumann assured me he was healthy enough and surgery went incredibly smooth (surgery @ First Coast), after all. Thanks Sevo!
I have very mixed feelings. My dog was diagnosed with lymphoma early this year. I opted to do the CHOPP treatment which gave the highest chances of time / quality of life. At first saw Dr Neumann who was very kind and explained everything to me - a couple weeks into the treatment, I started to notice that her weeks were not accurate. I mentioned this and it was corrected. It happened again, and I spoke to the office manager - given that I was driving nearly an hour for these visits it was very inconvenient that her scheduling was off. Dr Neumann apologized, which I appreciated. I requested Dr Haas after this, and again, I was very pleased with the detailed and follow ups she gave me in regards to my dog. It wasn’t until she fell out of remission and I decided to end treatment.. mind you we made it to the very last week - so they got their moneys worth. Once I decided to go with prednisone only, I never received another call again regarding Dixie . I waited a month to see if they would even call to check in or ask to do a quality of life exam…something…. But nope. As soon as I went the cheapest route, they didn’t care anymore. Luckily I had her vet who was amazing up until the very end. She passed away a little less than a week before Halloween. So thank you for caring for her during the time she was under your care Sevo but my recommendation would be to treat them with the same level of engagement whether I’m forking out thousands for chemo, or $20 on prednisone. Very disappointed towards the end.
My beloved golden retriever, Pintlar was diagnosed with lymphoma in October,2019 and we were referred to Dr.Neumann at sevo. After several rounds of chemotherapy and 2 abdominal surgeries she was in remission. In may 2020 during a routine follow up appointment the ultrasound revealed an abdominal mass and she was diagnosed as being out of remission. For the next 6 weeks she had 3 ultrasounds, 4 rounds of chemotherapy, blood work and medicine. I returned home to Texas and took Pintlar to our regular vet, who immediately insisted, after performing his own ultrasound and blood work ,that I go for a second opinion at Gulf Coast Vet Specialist in Houston, Texas, and he made all the arrangements. I called Dr.Neumann at that time about Pintlar as did the medical oncologist from gulf coast. We were at gulf coast less than 3 hours when i was told that the abdominal mass was an abdominal abscess and she needed emergency surgery. Because of the 6 weeks of misdiagnosis, inappropriate and unneeded treatment this negligence contributed to Pintlar's harm an I had to make the heartbreaking decision to have her put to sleep 4 days after surgery. I have never received a follow up phone call from Dr. Neumann or anyone from the clinic asking how Pintlar, or as Dr. Neumann referred to her as " sweet baby girl " was doing but I always received a call asking " which credit card will you be using to pay Pintlar's bill today " Shame on you Dr. Neumann shame.... on.....you !
Our baby girl Ella was diagnosed with lymphoma on Nov. 2021. Sevo med suggested chemo therapy, after 25 treatments she went into remission. She went out of remission in Nov. 2022. We said goodbye bye to Ella on May 8, 2023. We are thankful to Sevo Med for the 1 1/2 extra years that we had Ella. All through her treatments she was a very happy girl. Always bouncing and playing until the night she started bleeding internally from her spleen rupturing. We had to euthanize Ella that night as she was in a lot of pain. Sevo med was her home away from home. Sevo med suggested 25 treatments the first round of chemo, and 18 weekly treatments the second time. We drove over an hour each way to try to keep our girl cancer free. Sevo med always made us feel that they cared, but all they care about is the money, we spent over $15,000.00 at sevo med on Ella. And we would spend a lot more to keep Ella alive and happy. When Ella passed, we have not heard a peep from Sevo Med, shame on the doctors that said they loved Ella so much. Even Ellas vet that has seen her 1 time sent a sympathy card, a door and window company sent flowers, but these doctors at Sevo Med only care about the ole mighty dollar. Not a call, or an email. No recognition at all. We have a cat that has hyperthyroidism and we will get him radiation therapy, but NOT at Sevo Med! I would rather drive 3 1/2 hours to Gainsville, FL Vet. School than to give Sevo Med another penny. Shame on you Sevo-Med!!!
They got rid of my cats chemo and although the process is time intensive and very expensive they try to make it as convenient as possible allowing you to drop off your pet in the morning and pick them up at lunch or whenever. My cat did not like chemo and became a monster whenever I had to bring him although he is the sweetest at home. Definitely consider you and your pets time budget and emotional stress because you need to make a lot of office visits. The staff were all very nice and helpful. My cat reacted badly although that is apparently rare for cats on chemo, he would often be more withdrawn and throw up more often in the days after receiving chemo. The alternative of letting cancer run its course would have killed him so I don't regret a single thing about starting chemo for him. He is now perfectly fine and has no cancer. In fact they couldn't find cancer after just the first few months. If another cat has cancer I would definitely consider the take home pulls instead of in office chemo unless there was a high chance my cat would die if going the less effective pill route.
I cannot say enough good things about SEVO on beach Blvd. I will never have enough gratitude towards the incredible people that work there. My dog King Midas is my baby. He was diagnosed in October 2020 with IMHA, which an terrible autoimmune disease that extremely hard to treat. we were referred to this office. Midas has very high anxiety when going to the vet and he requires a lot more hands on attention than your average pet. However, these amazing people still show so much love and care for him and give me such a peace of mind. Dr. Deitz is proactive with his treatment and gave us a second chance with our baby. The vet techs and receptionists are amazing and always on top of everything we could possibly need. This is a group of highly knowledgeable, caring and diligent human beings and I could not recommend them enough. While my boy has a long way to go, I’m certain they saved his life and I am beyond grateful. Thank you to all of the amazing staff. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. We appreciate and love everyone of you!
Dr. Neumann and his staff are absolutely phenomenal. My sweet shar pei has mastocytosis—and the best doctors in the world to make her feel comfortable. I’ve never had a vet take so much time to not only deeply examine my very reticent and stubborn shar pei, but also to explain both in person and in writing his observations. Dr. Neumann and his staff write incredibly detailed notes about each visit and are so kind to her that my dog, who shakes and quakes and whines and howls at the very sight of a vet’s office, stopped shaking for the first time today. The entire staff care deeply about each and every patient. They do their best to make my fearful dog comfortable. They answer every question and are so kind in doing so it’s made me cry happy tears on more than one occasion. Doggo cancer is terrifying. I am so grateful to have such a compassionate and thoughtful team behind us as we fight to help my sweet dog live the very best life she deserves.
A thank you is just not enough to express how grateful I am of Sevo, all staff, and Doctor Neumann. The fact you are welcomed in a way that describes a warm safe hug and everything will be okay. I hope the staff knows you are changing the lives of our pets and us as pet parents. With that support I feel you have given us the hope we need to just walk in that door. We know why we're there and we aren't alone because of you and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Dr. Neumann was nothing short but amazing. He makes sure you understand your options, gives high quality knowledge with his own views, and endless kindness and love toward your pet. I am grateful for both locations in helping me through this journey with Whiskey. So thank you again for all you do each day because you are greatly appreciated and thank you for making this journey a little bit easier for us. You are a true hero.
This place deserves 5 stars. The staff makes the dogs feel comfortable and special. They are my dog's new best friends. She starts crying almost a mile away because she knows where we are going. They treat her like I treat her, a big baby. I sit in the office and love the way they treat all the customers. The waiting room is comfy also. My vet didn't recommend this place. They never even mentioned it to me. I got a second opinion from UF veterinary hospital and glad I did. I couldn't have found a better place. I hope your dog never has to go here, but if they do, you picked the best place. There is no cure for cancer, but treatment and love can make a huge difference. The cost isn't cheap, but it is definitely making a difference in my dog so much I forget she has cancer. Thank you for your kindness and doing your job, keeping my Roxy alive and healthy. The whole staff is wonderful.
As a referring vet, SEVO has always been a tremendous help to my patients and their owners. But on a personal level, both SEVO locations helped my best friend, Jackson, through cancer in 2020 that went into remission, and again this year when he was diagnosed with a second kind of cancer. Dr. Miller was always willing to help and advise me on how to give Jackson the best quality of life with his terminal diagnosis. She is so knowledgeable and caring and exactly who you would want to help you navigate a cancer diagnosis for your pet. Sadly, Jax lost his battler on Monday. Thank you so much for all you did, Dr Miller. I appreciate it more thank you could ever know.
My experience was very disappointing. After numerous attempts to help my precious little fur baby, we experienced nothing but uncomfortable side effects. Apparently Dr. Neumann considered this the quality time I would have with my beautiful five pound toy poodle. I finally took my baby back to my regular veterinarian who provided compassion and quality care without the exorbitant prices charged at Sevo Med. To add insult to injury, within one week of my baby’s passing, Sevo Med sent me information on all of the wonderful memorials they could provide to commemorate my pet’s passing. Please get a second opinion if you are seeking treatment for your beloved angels.
We saw Dr Bertalan as a referral from our vet for further workup to rule out liver shunt. Dr Bertalan is excellent in every way, very informative and understanding. We had a slight issue that was resolved and I'm leaving a 3 star because of the upper management abover Dr Bertalan, I cannot remember her name, however she was very rude to us on the phone, not sympathetic to our concerns and had a very condescending attitude. We were able to come to an agreement, but because of her I would never return to this practice. Dr Bertalan thank you so very much for your time, your knowledge and understanding. You are amazing. Thank you.
Dr. Dietz was amazing with my 9 year old GSD that was experiencing unexplained weight loss and GI issues. After our primary vet jumped the gun and told us to prepare for a cancer diagnosis, I was hyper emotional going into our consult with Dr. Dietz. But Dr. Dietz sat with us and talked through everything Kaiser was experiencing and laid out the tests she recommended to see if he had one of the various things he could be suffering from. We decided to do all of the testing and it wasn’t cancer! Cannot say enough about Dr. Dietz and the entire SEVO team
In 2009, I regret going to the Animal Clinic on Saint Johns Bluff where Mr. Hansen was the worst vet and human being showing no compassion or any help to save her life.He told me my baby had 6 months to live. Did some reseach, The Southeast Vets and staff members showed us compassion. They had the right meds to help her live longer. By the way, my baby min-pin lived 2.5 yrs with the help of this place. Thank you so much for allowing us more time with her.
Dr. Deitz did a great job with our Nimbus. After initially responding well to her autoimmune disease unfortunately we had to put Nimbus down after she had gained numerous other issues along with the autoimmune issue coming. SEVO allowed us to enjoy a few additional months where Nimbus was well and active. I’m saddened by the outcome but there isn’t a doubt that is right the move. Thank you for all your support and help.
This place is amazing! The front office team is very welcoming and helpful. I was struggling with treatments, and had been to several vet visits for my elderly cat, and it was not until I went to SEVO that the doctors were able to figure out how to help him. It is not the cheapest, but that is to be expected with a specialist. They also offer an estimate prior to treatment so there are no surprises with your bill.
I can not rave enough about this place. I had to visit with my 14 year old English Bulldog Mike and the minute I walked in you could see the passion on all the employees of what they do. The place was so welcoming and inviting and I felt like everyone truly cared about me and Mike. Dr. Dietz was amazing, caring and compassionate. I am so thankful I found them and would highly recommend them to anyone!!
We couldn’t have asked for a better office to care for our fur baby. Dr Dietz and Sara were both absolutely amazing at our appointment. Everything was throughly explained about the tests that would be performed and reassured us that everything would be okay. From the time our appointment started Dr. Dietz put our minds at ease. You won’t find compassion like this anywhere else!
We were quite impressed with Dr Dietz. She took her time to listen to our concerns with Hunter. She also answered all of my questions on the phone after results were in and I had so many questions. We got a list of diagnoses and a good start for treatment going forward. We are very glad our primary vet recommended her. Thank you so much Dr. Dietz
Two Christmases ago my precious Ritzy... cat was very very ill throwing up six times a day and Dr. Dietz and the staff looked after her and got her on B12 shots. Doctor Dietz diagnosed her illness and she’s a beautiful loving 16 year old cat, today. They are compassionate and very kind people. The best talent in Jacksonville!
I can’t say enough good things about the doctors and their staff here. They have given my pup years on her life that would have been taken by her cancer, and they have gone above and beyond kindness and focused. My pup loved going to see them for her treatments. Whatever the cost, this is the place that’s completely worth it.
The office staff and Dr. Neumann are absolutely wonderful! They do their best to take care of the sweet animals and their humans when going through this difficult time! We are happy to report that my Dad's dog, Soxi, is in remission and doing super! She's back to her silly, playful, loving self! Thank you, SEVOMED!
Horrible help on the phone... 2 very sick cats and all I kept hearing is “we can not diagnose over the phone”, I was asking do you think our cat needs to be seen? Telling her the symptoms - she answered like a robot with a script ... no care or compassion ... won’t bring our cats there.
Dr. Neumann and his team were phenomenal to my baby girl, Valentina. She passed in my arms on June 26. I wish we would have discovered SEVO Beaches sooner. Dr.Neumann was truthful and I appreciated his candor and professionalism. This team truly cares about you and your pet.
We have had great experiences at SevoMed with both of our dogs. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. Dr. Dietz was exceptionally thorough, and spent ample time to explain our dogs problem and the proposed treatment. I can't recommend SevoMed highly enough.
Our little guy..Buddy...i truly believe he would be gone if not for you folks. Thank you all for taking such good care of him and us:) one week ago i thought he was leaving us and now he is up and begging for food. Thank you all so much.
Dr. Neumann and this staff were some of the most compassionate and caring individuals I’ve ever met. I was confident in every decision made in the treatment of my dog and would 100% go back if the need were to arise.
If your pet is going thru a serious illness like cancer this is an excellent facility to discuss options for care. Doctors are excellent very caring and are not pushy on the type of care you select for your pet.
Extremely understanding and compassionate. I would recommend them to anyone. We took our almost 15 year old cat with rare bone cancer here. They are AMAZING people! Worth every penny!!! Thank you ALL!!!
I was terrified coming in here and this staff are the most wonderful and compassionate people. They have taken such good care of my cat Punkin. I could not have asked for more. I highly recommend them!
Dr Walls was amazing. Very caring. Called daily to check in and returned calls promptly. Offered lots of options to treat difficult symptoms in a very supportive way. Would highly recommend
Your reputation precedes you. Thank you Brook; excellent customer service. It's most refreshing finding a compassionate and caring team like you...Please don't ever change..
Thanks so much to Dr. Dietz and Dr. Neumann for taking the upmost care of my Sully. Their compassion during this difficult time was greatly appreciated.
Our dog was treated for an aggressive type of cancer. The doctors and staff were very knowledgeable and caring.
Courteous staff, super doctor, super staff aassistsnts. Our pets are treated like royalty and well cared for.
I really dont know how they are because they told me my baby would be done in 2 hours. It's been 4.5 hours.
Amazing caring staff. Had to put my friends cat down. They handled it with dignity, respect and compassion
They're always there for me and my cat with deep compassion and unmatched professionalism.
They are seriously amazing. So sweet to you and your fur babies... can't recommend more.
As far as as I can tell, they're doing their best to care for all their patients.
Excellent specialty veterinary care for my dog. Dr. Dietz is very thorough.
Warm, Friendly and informative. Takes good care of our "Baby" dog!
