"Poor selection"

Liquor store called the SPIRIT OF HOWE STREET LS...THE WEATHER HAD FINALLY SLOWED DOWN & I TOOK THE CHANCE TO GET OUTDOORS...I was getting a ride back into town from dinner at my mother's place...it was before she had gone to Yellowknife to visit the good son(who literaly can do NO WRONGS!!!) my mother had flown up there...in her way back I could just imagine the snow on the wings of the plane she would ble flying...(scary...woooooo) I would not fly with ice cominy off of a plane Id say I can wait I'll fly in a few months..,.ya no snow!!! So there I was infront of Howe St & I could hear my thirst calling me & I saw the liquor store...I wasn't thinking of myself I was thinking of my hubby(K) so in I went & I decided to grab him a nice cold 1...I could feel the rain again so I made this fast...I chose a cold 1 & off to the skytrain I went... walked to Burrard Station & caught the train home...I caught the train & was home in 25 mins...I stuck the beer in the fridge & I grabbed myself a cold 1 too a coke!!! Not a no name coke I got a CokeCola!!! Mmmmmm... When (K) got home I waited for my kiss of miss 10 hours he's away from home traveling to & from home...travel tim kills us...but I said to look into the fridge & he was like "Ya!!!" THANK U MY LUVE!!! anytime i mentioned...So as a thought out to the women who's men only drink 1 beer a every other day...a kiss for. Min stop if ur on ur way home, & if u have a man who drinks a single beer every other day & ur then having to grab the skytrain or ur walking home somewhere down town then grab urself or ur man a drink...if it's for y sit pop the cap & take a sippy gulp...& Trylt enjoy ur done for the day... enjoy ur beer with dinner & finish it by watching a great show on TV...hope u choose a good drink if u need some help as person (male or female) looking at the beer cold or room temp...get their opinion & take them on their favorite drink...beer, wine, or cooler...if it's worth trying & u don't mind the shortcomings then grab a cold version of what they suggest & go home & enjoy...4 stars...pemeten...
Well I end up doing a lot of liquor runs to this place for people in my building and for a couple people banned from this store. (You know who you are). The selection and prices are good and at par with the industry and the staff are cool. I Guess there have been some shortages lately due to supply line issues but rarely are they out of what I need. I especially like the selection of single can drinks they have as I sometimes get one as a bonus to doing pick-ups. I once saw the regular staff lady run out the store and grab back a stolen bottle and then resume work like a boss. So remember no back packs in the back cooler area.! Peace!
Poor selection....same booze I like buying is almost $2 cheaper at a different place. The tall guy who works behind the till has got a real bad attitude so I only go in there when there is no other choice. Avoid this place and support the nice people in the area that have liquor stores. If you do go there....don't leave anyone a tip except the nice girl who works there. She is about the only saving grace for this place.
It's a convenient place on Granville ( cross street is Drake ) to get some drinks of the over 19 variety. Big huge walk in freezer full of beer & coolers but FYI bags are NOT allowed in there ! Prices are more then at BC liquor store of course, but your paying for the convenience, and that huge walk in cooler ! Clientele can be a bit scuzzy, but they won't bother you.
The clowns that work here make you do all the work then have the audacity to ask for a tip at the till. As if they aren't already jacking up the prices on everything. On average they charge $5 more per product than the government liquor stores and $2 more than other local independents. All around losers! Shop here only if it's the last liquor store left open.
Okay, I get that cold beer & wine store gotta make a few bucks but $10 above retail BC liquor store??? I bought a bottle of crown royal and this place is not a ripoff it’s HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! There are plenty of other business who have better facilities with reasonable price. Ignore this place at all cost, absolutely disgrace. Never going back
I love this small and well collected of beers . I was looking for bad tattoo beer which i funded here. unfortunately i was looking for medium dark lager which was not available. They had a summer package. I had founded a nice liquor as well which i was looking for since last year. The staff are so knowledgeable and helpful.
Always have the most friendly staff who are willing to help you with your needs or wants plus, always has speedy service and keep the different types of booze, stocked at most times or will notify you if they are sold out too. 10/10 it's my only Liqour store that I'll go to buy all my booze, 7 days a week. Great work staff
Very friendly staff. The prices include tax which is surprisingly helpful. Decent selection and fridges for cold wine and individual beers as well as a cold room for larger beer cases, spritzers as well as a variety of ciders and other alcohol surprises. All in all an excellent place to shop. And the best hours in town.
The only off license I visited in Vancouver and was pleased with my experience. Good selection of alcohol across the entire store. The beer and cider walk in refrigerator at the back has hundreds of choices, all at a reasonable price. Good location on Granville Street, walking distance from many hotels and hostels.
Overcharged me for a bottle of wine, and then refused to refund when the difference between the advertised price and the price charged was brought to the clerk's, and then manager's attention. The clerk's excuse - they don't have *new* labels!? Will never shop here again.
A bottle of vodka was almost double what it costs in other liquor stores. When we asked why the response we got was, 'we're private'. I'm all for supporting small business but I feel this is gouging. Go to the BC liquor store on Pacific - only a few blocks from this one.
Glad to sell you wine but they refused to take back the empty bottles even though they were glad to collect the deposit when we bought it. Prices appeared to be inflated compared to BCL. Avoid unless you like burning money. Also, selection was poor compared to BCL.
The area is a bit sketchy, as is the clientele. I thought the selection was less than great, but in a pinch you can definitely find something to enjoy here. Wouldn't avoid it, but if you have the time you can go a few blocks away and have a 'better' experience.
Exceptional Customer Service. I found an item sold out in most Vancouver liquor stores and the staff were very kind and boxed up the items for me. It is in a rough part of town and a little dingy but the customers and staff were very patient and pleasant.
Great selection of beer from all over. Will be my go to place for booze since it's a stone's throw from the hotel I always stay at. Interesting area of town so be forewarned. I have no issues with it but others may. I like the all facets of humanity.
A little pricier than a BC Liquor, but the fact that they include tax in the prices on display really does it for me. Why doesn’t everywhere do that? Why is it so hard to just display the price that something actually costs? I will never understand.
Helpful service. Able to assist one in all kinds of spirits. From beer to coolers to wines and champagne. Find selection of hard liquor with quick service and friendly staff. I go out of my way for the Spirit of Howe liquor store.
I go out of my way to shop there. Good size store, great selection and friendly staff. It can get busy but even with a bit of a line they'll get you on your way quick like a bunny. I recommend this store.
Pretty dirty and many hobos go there. I don't feel very safe during Covid. Most importantly, why ask for a tip?! I don't want to touch the keypad a bunch of times; I just want to touchless pay and go
Great folks here. Went here because no more vodka at BC liquors. Great service and suggestions re vodka. Bought corn vodka, made locally, at their suggestion. Great. Thanks
Went in right before closing time and left by two minutes after but the staff were loudly telling me to hurry up. I was very quick and couldn’t understand the rudeness.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS: Extreme markups on all products. You can expect to pay 30-50% more for some items. Selection is very limited. You might as well just go sober
Fairly Expensive, but open considerably late given the area, staff are friendly and there is a large refrigerated section in the back with beer and coolers.
Fair prices, friendly staff, great selection. Prices include tax too which is great (I saw some people mention prices were higher than BCL, this is why)
I'm not a liquor guru so I don't know much about it haha. I quite likr the store though. It's small, looks a bit rusty, but quite welcome :)
Absolute rip off. No prices advertised on their beers. $19.50 for a 6 pack of lagers is ridiculous... stick to the BC Liquor Store
A bit more expensive than normal, but open late, friendly. Pretty good selection for such a small store. Usually pretty busy
Good hours, not the best selection of wine but good enough. Don't understand why the staff want a tip to buy booze though...
The best private Liquor store around. A larger store with a great variety, huge cold room with fast friendly service …
Decent selection. Sketchy clientele in the area hang out front. Saving grace is the VPD is basically next door lol
After calling 42 places this is the only place that has twisted tea in a bottle god bless them …
Well the only reason I go into this place , or any others because I'm picking up for a friend (of age that is)
I like craft beer and this place had a dismal selection. Good for cheap wine I guess or mass produced beer...
Great spirits vendor, open early, closed late. Great variety. Only slightly higher prices than provincial LCB
Nice atmosphere, easy to find everything, polite staff, no fuss no muss. Simple and easy. Great selection.
Great friendly employees working and great location if heading out to English bay or walking the sea walk
Good, open till.late night but prices have been increased within 2-3 months. Not sure how often it's done
THIS LOCATION, EASY-GOING STAFF ! PRICING $$...THAT'S ALL YOU NEED.. ENJOY THE SUMMER Ciao con radical d
Best liquor store downtown that's open this late. $10.60 six pack of caribou can't go wrong with that!
A sparse amount of liquors and brands available and a good variety of beers with some mixes for sale.
Selection is just ok, quite expensive, generally it is at least 5-10 $ more than "BC Liquor" stores.
Very expensive. Compared to other liquor stores this is the most expensive one I've ever been too.
Staff is nice but limited selection and high prices. Good for convenience if you're in the area
Good merch.. little to say about employees/staff, but they've got a little bit of everything.
Amazing place with a good selection of wines and beers. And a walk in cooler. thats awesome.
It's was $37 for a 12 pack that is $21 at BCL. Live across the street, will not be back.
It was like any other liquor store nice service decent priced and no line up 3 thumbs up
A fairly good selection of beers in a cold room. Not much in the way of wine or spirits.
Open 365 days, has a decent selection and prices include tax! Also run weekly specials.
Convenient local beer and wine store with a reasonably stocked walk in cold beer room.
Its not a government liquor store but its prices are reasonable. And they are friendly
Lots of selection, friendly staff. Can be busy on weekends, but rarely out of stock.
Convenient but VERY expensive. Prices much higher than in government liquor store.
$42 for a 26er of crown royal and a 2ltr of sprite ........ Need I say more …
Not as many options as BC's stores, but good deals sometimes and friendly staff.
Go there everyday. They know me by name. They don’t judge at all. Amazing staff.
Very compact and tight inside.. Lots of wine not much beer. Take careful steps.
Great stuff going on here, always something on special and a good selection.
Was closed when web site indicated it was still open for a couple more hours
Mediocre selection, higher prices than BCL, but uhh... great location!
Hard liquor is twice the price - for real - of other stores. Terrible!
only reliable store to carry twisted tea btls. an absolute lifesaver
Staff rock at this place ! One of my favorite stores to purchase .
Friendly staff, good selection, cold freezer, open until 11
Bad experience and customer service. Price too expensive.
They have my favorite alcohol jack daniels rum and coke
This liquor store changed my life. It's just so sunny!
They charge you to put a bottle in a sleeve… rip off
Got what we needed and a short walk from our hotel.
Very expensive, whiskeys are definitely overpriced.
Good location. But prices are proper jacked up.
When I wanted liquor, they had it. Great place!
Good selection and nice big chilled beer room.
Awful store with very unpleasant odor… …
Excellent selection.clean and masked staff.
watch your bags if you leave them up front
High prices small selection but convenient
Great location for me, and great people
It's great. Pricey, but so convenient.
Great selection, and some good prices!
