I was having trouble staying upright while walking my dog, who's much younger than I am, even in dog years, especially when we were "ambushed" by another dog, so I contacted Sports & Ortho, Lincoln Park, for help with maintaining my balance and steadiness when walking. I'm so glad I did! I met with each of the therapists a number of times over the past three months and each one made a special contribution to my progress. Marie, Debbie, and Jessica all have their own distinctive approach to therapy that supplements the methods they, of course, have in common. Each one was always upbeat and encouraging, professional and personable, which made my sessions a pleasure. After working with me individually, the therapists handed me over to Ben, technician par excellence, who gave me clear instructions and kind encouragement as I practiced what I was learning. Jocelyn handled any scheduling problems I encountered with aplomb. All-in-all, these folks are a wonderful team: caring, skillful, and fun-to-be-around. I really appreciate their good care for me. Now my dog doesn't have to worry [she's kinda neurotic] about me falling on my face during our walks, no matter how "vociferously" she greets a neighbor's dog.
Jessica is a fantastic PT. She Listens to what you have to say, she listens to what doctors and other PTS have said, she takes measurements. And then makes data based treatment decisions. In my case, she had to do muscle loosening, mobilization, and exercise to solve my problem. She gives plenty of exercise… But is more than willing to adjust the way the needed muscles are Exercised so that it does not cause more pain in left or any other part of the body. And she videos the exercises with verbal instructions so that you can do them right at home The only problem I’ve had is that her boss keeps changing her schedule and it is sometimes difficult to get in to see her when you need to. Her boss needs to fix this. But I can clearly say that, having worked with her for more than six months To solve my problem, she was patient, perseverance, knowledgeable, skilled, and a wonderful person to work with
Absolutely excellent location. Amanda is knowledgeable and engaging and will leave you feeling supported and with the correct information in order to help your injury however you need to. I had a tear in the plantar fascia on my foot and it was a rough recovery in a boot and wraps for like 6 weeks, then spent 4 weeks at Sports and Ortho and felt ready and willing to hop back into playing soccer once a week, with some assistance from them to ease the transition. The do not discriminate here, do not judge, do not treat you any differently due to your personal views, feelings or identities. You will always be welcomed and free to speak about whatever you like with them safely. Great prices, and assistance with making sure your insurance coverage applies, and if not will recommend you elsewhere. Definitely give it a try. It's never too late to start healing, strengthening, and exercising. Cheers.
I went to Sports and Ortho Physical Therapy with back pain and knee pain from a knee replacement. The therapists explained to me how everything was connected and helped me understand the importance (and effectiveness) of stretching and strengthening to alleviate the pain I was feeling. They made sure that I was doing the prescribed exercises correctly (not just going through the motions) and prepared a program of exercises for me to do at home to achieve maximum benefit. The therapists and assistants were always professional and answered my (many) questions patiently and thoroughly. They spent a great deal of time with me one-on-one and I never felt rushed. Sports and Ortho Physical Therapy has helped me feel better than I have in many years. My range of motion improved tremendously and I was able to completely straighten my “replaced” knee. I would highly recommend Dahlia and her team.
I have spent my life involved in physical activity as a coach and teacher so my expectations are high. I worked with Jessica and was impressed with her professionalism, knowledge and compassion. I started at sports and ortho after a serious back operation. Over the course of six months she patiently saw me through greatest physical challenge of my life. I highly recommend Jessica at the Diversey site of Sports and Ortho. One advantage of Sports and Ortho over a number of other PT places I have gone to is that the therapist spends quite a bit of time with each patient.
I have been attending PT with Jessica for 6 weeks now and I have seen tremendous improvements. I am so happy with the results. The entire team is great, however, I work primarily with Jessica and Ben and they are fantastic. They thoroughly explain what I am doing but also share the “why” and “how” the treatment will benefit me. I couldn’t be more pleased with the care and concern I am shown and am grateful for their help. I highly recommend their location. They are well trained, informed, and very nice and friendly people. Great vibe in the entire facility.
I LOVE Sports and Ortho!! I have been going there for almost a year now, and have been so happy with every staff member there. My therapist is very skilled and attentive and personalizes my treatment every session to meet my goals and needs. I have made a lot of improvement thanks to them and will soon be graduating PT, with lots of strategies to take with me. I have been in and out of PT for a very long time, and this is definitely one of my favorite places! I have even referred friends who have had great experiences too.
The entire team (Marie, Ben, & Peggy) are amazing. I went there for an old knee injury but while I was there - Marie fixed the pain in my arm too. I had been in pain for several months and my doctors could not figure it out. Within minutes Marie figured out the pain in my arm was actually caused by my neck and showed me stretches that alleviated the pain. Both my leg and arm feel so much better today thanks to the team here. I can’t believe I put it off so long . I highly recommend PT with Marie and her team.
I would recommend Sport and Ortho to everyone. Marie, Ben, Jess, and Peggy healed me after a meniscus repair surgery. Their expertise and care brought me from not being able to walk while in pain, to rock climbing and lifting again. I would not be doing what I love doing if it weren’t for the superb efforts of the Sports and Ortho staff. The soft tissue work and guided workouts really helped with my discomfort while I regained strength in a reassuring manner. The results were truly life changing.
I’m so grateful for everyone at Sports and Ortho! I went in with tight muscles and not being able to walk well and am leaving with the tools and knowledge to keep me mobile and flexible for years to come! Specific thanks to Marie who always pushed me to get through the hard work and for Ben for listening and adjusting programs when I needed. I appreciate that the environment felt relaxed while being steadfastly dedicated to achieving results. Could not recommend this team more!
Their assistance with my shoulder has been truly exceptional. I was really worried that I would not get much better and now I am almost back to 100%. I know, with their help, I will be. Everyone there is so warm and friendly. Making what could be a difficult time, so much easier. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and extend a special thank you to Ben, Jess, and Marie.
Jessica Thyer was my physical therapist for the last 6 month ….this girl has absolutely magical hands and very engaging, strong, compassionate and sweet personality ! Her skills and knowledge have helped me to improve dramatically from my different injuries , and I’m eternally grateful to her !!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart !
I highly recommend the Lincoln Park location. Maria, Ben and Peg were always professional, friendly and helpful. I always felt they were concerned with my treatment and progress. It’s was a pleasure working with Maria post my first experience. Her knowledge and experience has helped me immensely. Thank you Lincoln Park.
I had the best experience at this place! Jessica, Ben, and Marie helped me overcome knee pain on my routine runs all the way to the finish line of a half marathon. They were also great people to just chat with every week during treatment. Can’t thank this team enough or recommend this place more for PT needs.
It’s a love / hate with this place … I hate that my joints require PT but if I’m going to get PT, it better be here . I *look forward* to my “dates” with Marie ! I’d be remiss not to mention the great Ben and Jess too! I hope to graduate some time post surgery , but really do I …?!
Love this location! With such fun and caring people it actually makes physical therapy enjoyable. This is my second stint at Sports and Ortho in Lincoln Park and I couldn’t be more thankful that I chose it again. Claire has helped me out so
I've been to physical therapy at several other places over the years, and Sports and Ortho Lincoln Park is truly superior. The therapists really work to find the source of your pain and to develop a program to resolve it. I worked primarily
Highly recommend after a long journey to find a quality physical therapist office. Only PT office I will use/recommend. You spend a decent amount of time on the table with your therapist along with lots of stretches and exercises. Erica and
After a LONG year of PT for shoulder surgeries, PT is the last place I wanted to spend my summer after tearing my ACL. However Sports and Ortho is really one of a kind! Being an athlete- I enjoy being challenged and hated going to PT every
I don't usually post reviews, but this one writes itself. Sports & Ortho is a fantastic woman-owned clinic with world's friendliest staff. Thanks to them, the recovery process (and exercises involved) were fun and I looked forward to each
I had a great experience here with Cash, Erica, Jess, & the whole team. I've been to quite a few different physical therapists and Cash was by far the best I've had! Cash was not only invested in helping me recover from my injury but also

I entered with a lot of pain and left a new man. Jon, Jess, and Ben patiently helped me resolve my joint problems through a variety of strategies and exercises. They are very knowledgeable and open about how much you will pay from day 1.
The very professional staff at Sports & Ortho did an outstanding job of first, helping to evaluate my problem and second to aid me in recovery after total hip replacement. The Physical Therapists, Cash and Erica, are at the top of their
I could not be more pleased with the care I received at SportsOrtho at 1148 W Diversey. Jessica Beyer is, by far, the best physical therapist I have ever worked with. She is an excellent diagnostician, able to pin point exactly what the
I've been going to Sports and Ortho for 2 months now for a sciatic nerve issue that caused pain, tingling, numbness and muscle weakness down my entire right leg and foot. Jess and Amanda have been super helpful in getting me back to a
Good place, good care, good people and reasonable rates. My PT Marie was great, and Ben was so helpful going over the exercises with me. They work hard and attentively to help you get back to full capacity. I highly recommend.
Marie Peggy and Ben are genuinely a superteam. Besides the PT being helpful and relieving most pain, I always felt very welcomed by a personable staff. They always made me laugh even while I was stretched all the way out.
Great experience with Marie, who it turns out, is one of the few physical therapists in Chicago who can treat vertigo. She knows her stuff and was a pleasure to get treatment from.
Debbie has been a lifesaver for me. I was in so much pain and after two sessions felt 100% better. Highly recommend.
