On a quest to do more to support local... I rediscovered and fell back in love with an old friend. How lucky are we in Weston to have such treasure!?!? Suri and her husband are working overtime to continue to serve and create an experience, even during covid, that reminds you of walking into a Hallmark movie. And she knows her books and authors and Weston history, oh my! In 2 minutes she had sized up my daughter and steered her to the perfect books. Magical. And the books.... oh the glorious range of wonderful books. It's a bibliophile and historical nerd heaven. I walked in (by appointment due to lockdown) to get my new Barack Obama book and walked out with so much more.... and a sense of warmth in my heart. Squibbs in partnership with the Weston library sparked my love of reading many moons ago, and to find her there, arms open was like coming home.

We've been working with Squibb's over the last 6 years for textbooks for our two children. Our experience with them has been completely perfect. They are easy to do business with, respond quickly to any questions, and are open to buying back textbooks that are still currently being used. My experience with them yesterday may have put my thinking over the top. I was 3/4 of the way there to pick up a textbook that my wife had ordered and I realized I didn't have a mask with me. I called and the owner said no problem to just knock on the door and she would bring out the book. I get there, knock on the door, she brings out the book AND gives me a disposable mask to use in case I needed to stop anywhere (I did) on the way home. AMAZING SERVICE! 100% reccomend them for any of your needs.

Squibbs is exactly the kind of neighborhood stationary and bookstore that every area needs. The proprietor is not only attentive to the needs and requirements of her long established clients and the area, but has been known to regularly sponsor community events. There really is no need for a trip to one of the big chain bookstores when Squibbs has the most anticipated books on the day of release, and its stationary section is very well stocked. Places like Squibbs gives Toronto its character. Over the years I have bought greeting cards, books and stationary from it, and have always been amazed how the proprietor has always been able to anticipate the area’s demands year after year.

A bit political which is a shame as one hopes to come to small, local bookstores to get away from the world (and get into new ones)! There was a lot of tension during covid. This politicization has been reflected in store displays and the bad reviews over the past couple of years. I myself found the owner to be in a terrible mood over Covid, but weren't we all. Hopefully things will continue to turn around for this store. Before Covid I really enjoyed it! Always want to support my local bookstore just please, return to how you were before covid. Less political...

i honestly don't understand some of these nasty derogatory reviews. The manager has always been courteous and professional; always going the extra mile for the customer. They offer a wide selection of products, across all topics, political or otherwise, to suit any personal preference. The COVID lock-downs were very annoying and inconvenient but you can't blame the staff and management for having to follow the law and local restrictions. I'm glad to see that this unique local business is still thriving. Best of luck!

Doesn't even deserve a one star! Never seen such a rude person in my life. Fix that attitude that you have and maybe you would have more customers smh. If you have problems with the Fords new restrictions on the small business, don't let it out on other people. Its that simple! Horrible service overall and don't think I will ever come back here.

A true gem. Besides being the oldest bookstore in Toronto, it’s non-pretentious atmosphere and knowledgeable owner are the real reasons to go. They have everything from the latest released books, current textbooks, toys and puzzles, and everything else in between. It’s stores like this we should all be shopping in!

Great place to find used school books for my kids and what Suri doesn't have in stock she will get it for you. Prices are reasonable to fair. Text books are expensive. Squibbs is an institution and has been in the Weston neighborhood of Toronto for many years. An old fashioned book store with a heart.

A true Weston gem. Toronto's last remaining old-school stationery store with a great selection of hard-to-find vintage items amongst new well selected items and gifts. Great owner and great business for the community - always a good experience visiting and shopping at the store !

We had a wonderful experience at Squibb's Stationers. There are hard to find collectables at the store. Additionally, the owner went out of her way to custom order a piece that we really wanted. Thank you so much for your help! Absolutely recommend checking them out.

Just had a great experience at Squibb's, shopping virtually due to COVID19. Owner provided, via picture, several great options for my son's obsession with dinosaurs. Went to pick up, paid via tap and off I went - thanks for the help and we'll definitely be back!

Pretty amazing experience - Just found out on Sunday that I needed a textbook for the next day. Called Monday morning, they had it in stock for the lowest price I saw anywhere and it was delivered by the afternoon. Thank you Squibb's!

  • Nicholas Catania

We have been working with Squibb's since I can remember. Excellent selection with great quality of textbooks always in stock. Service has been outstanding with stellar shipping during COVID-19. Thanks, Suri!

Very nice people. Great customer service. Books are always in great condition. I always purchase my High School textbooks here and have them shipped out - highly recommend. Wish I could visit in person.

We love Squibb's stationary and book store. It's one of those old fashioned stores that has EVERYTHING! The owner is very helpful! Let's all try to support small businesses during this lock down.

One if the older stores on Weston road and Lawrence. I like the little gems that are tucked away in the various corners. My go to place when I'm getting sketchbooks and pencils for my pupils.

A little bit of everything for everyone. A little pricey, but worth the money if you want something unusual for yourself or as a gift. Also great selection of materials, if you're an artist
