We do appreciate Dr. Ron Hansen. He is the best veterinarian - by far. Dr. Henson has treated our fur children for the last 40 years - with compassion and honesty. Our 2 Husky/German shepherd mix have provided us with unconditional love and loyalty. Both of them are sisters. One of them, Atka, has epilepsy, which is treated professionally and with great care by Doc Henson. So far, so good. She is still very lively. Saphira, gentle and kind, however, has shocked us when she was diagnosed with cancer by Doc Henson on August 4ty, 2023. We are devastated and heartbroken beyond any measure imaginable. Again, Doc Henson gave us great comfort, discussing what would happening. For right now, a life without Saphira is unthinkable. She somehow knew when this family suffered great pain when my husband passed away. With patience, Saphira would check my husband's bed every morning and patiently waited for my husband at the door to return. Even now - she continues this routine. Dr, Ron Henson has been a Blessing to this family - and we are blessed to call him our fur children's friend. St. Bernhard Hospital is fortunate to have him on his staff. Thank you, Dr. Henson, for having chosen this profession.
We’ve been at St Bernard’s for almost 10 years with 5 animals. They are always very accommodating with scheduling & their costumer service is impeccable. When our 11 year old dog was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma, I appreciated their honesty when we asked the question if treatment would be worth it or if we would just be doing it for our own sake vs. the comfort of our big girl. They were extremely kind and professional during that whole process. For such a hard time, they made it as comforting as it could be. We had a similar experience with our other dog on whether or not surgery would be beneficial for him at his age. I genuinely appreciate them not recommending treatment if it’s not beneficial in the long-term. Of course the bank acount appreciates it, but also it’s not worth the animal to go through unnecessary pain/discomfort that won’t do much for their current condition at their age. It also doesn’t make me second guess when they do recommend treatments since I know they aren’t just saying it for the money. Their prices are also fair for the great service they provide!
I did a lot of research prior to coming to this vet and still managed to be quite disappointed. Upon scheduling our first appointment, the vet they scheduled us with clearly had no experience with large dogs. As he walked into the room, he immediately commented on the size of the dog and was hesitant around him. He then tried to touch my dog’s feet with quick and abrupt movements and manipulate him, which resulted in a really poor experience. We then scheduled another appointment, with the intention of giving this place another chance. Almost an identical experience with a different vet. The “Lead Veterinarian” completely ignored my concerns and upon discussing a potential surgery he disregarded everything I said, demonstrating his unfamiliarity with the breed, despite the employees at the front desk assuring me he had experience with the breed. He then tried to manipulate the dog without any rapport building. I am beyond disappointed and will certainly not be returning. Oh, and printing off an estimate for the surgery *he recommended* before I left was just a cherry on top.
*Disclaimer: this review is a reflection of my personal views, values, and opinion. It is not to be deemed factual in any way, shape, or form!* HOW DARE YOU put in your soap notes for my dog, that she will need CCL surgery, but NEVER MENTION anything about it. What an absolute shame. I truly feel your vet has dropped the ball. BECAUSE OF YOUR VET, I will not be able to have my dogs surgery covered under my insurance. I am beyond livid with your vet still, and will NEVER be coming back… I will never recommend you either, what an absolute just DISGRACE of what you’ve done. I don’t know who, but whoever just decided not to say anything, you shouldn’t call yourself a member of any veterinarian office. Vets are supposed to be there FOR THE DOG AND OWNER… the best vets I know of do their jobs for the love of the dog…. And clearly somebody decided St Bernard’s animal hospital doesn’t care.
We had a very difficult day yesterday (9/19/23). We had to say goodbye to our 13 year old buddy, Schizo (chihuahua/jack Russell mix). It was one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make but being as his heart was failing, we couldn't let him suffer. The staff at St. Bernard's were amazing through the whole process. They didn't rush us through. The made sure the room was comfortable for us and our little buddy. They spoke to us as though we were letting go of a family member as opposed to as if it was just another day to them. They made us feel as if we were the only ones there. They even took care of all the arrangements in the room beforehand so that we wouldn't have to sit in the waiting room after our buddy crossed the rainbow bridge. They really helped make the worst experience as best of an experience as they possibly could. Goodbye little buddy.
Let me start by saying that I usually do not do reviews. However, I have had such good experiences with this practice that I wanted to take the time. I've brought 5 of my cats into this practice on different occasions over the past two years and every one of those visits have surpassed my expectations. I've also had the pleasure of consulting with all three veterinarians on staff, Dr. Hansen, Dr. Shostek and Dr. Nelligan. Every encounter I’ve had with this whole veterinarian practice has been dealt with professionalism, compassion and kindness. Their focus is first and foremost on the well-being of your pet, above the revenue of their practice. This in itself is rare to find. In my past experience its always been the other way around. I trust and value their judgment and I highly recommend this practice!
I am so glad I found this place. After a bad experience at another vet they gave me reassurance and they truly care. I just brought a new kitty home who was living outside & they let me walk in without an appointment and take care of everything she needed before bringing her in my home with my other kitty. They answered all my questions about introducing them & told me as much info about her as they could. I’m excited about my growing pet family and will look forward to having my future appointments for them at St Bernard’s. It feels wonderful to finally have a place I trust with the care of my babies. They even sent me a happy birthday email on the day I brought her home, they are so thoughtful. Thank you so much for everything!!
All of the team members at St. Bernard’s Animal Hospital, who cared for our older dog Kelly, are most compassionate and professional. Dr. Stadler called and texted me to check on Kelly after she had recommended we go to first coast veterinary emergency for additional observation and sonogram of a mass found on her spleen. I spoke with Dr. Stadler upon our arrival home from First Coast regarding medication prescribed by them and before the end of our conversation, she offered her continued availability, if we had additional questions. Our experience was way above and beyond our expectations in such a serious situation. Our family highly recommends this hospital to anyone considering them for veterinary services.
Dr. Sadler and her staff were very friendly and knowledgeable! I knew my babies were in good hands. They made sure the experience was as stress-free as possible for both me and my dogs. She gave them a full body exam and made sure I didn't have any questions or concerns. They also helped me consolidate all of my vet records as we this is our third move with the dogs. They were very patient with me as I tried to gather all of my paperwork. She was honest honest about the prices, which I believe to be fair. They also called to check up on my dogs the following morning after the vet visit. One of the friendliest veterinarian hospitals I have ever been too!
Terrible ordeal! Despite booking the earliest appointment weeks ahead, I wasted nearly an hour before being attended to. The lobby prominently displayed signs mandating all dogs to be on leash without exceptions, but it seems those were merely suggestions. Two individuals strolled in with unleashed dogs and were prioritized for service. One of them had three dogs, two of which were unleashed. The staff has extra leases and offered them but the customer refused. I wish this was the first time I had this experience, but was not. The lesson learned: If you wish to have your dog attended to promptly at this place, unleash them!
I have used Dogtown many times and therefore had encounters with St Bernard’s on a few occasions. On my last visit, I asked for help with a prescription that was about to run out … at the end of the day. Of course the staff was able to get my refill ordered and filled with a simple phone ahead and pickup 3 minutes before closing. They were so courteous and helpful and made sure I had everything including accessories to administer the medicines. I was impressed to see all the accolades and awards on the wall for local best of… Facilities were clean and welcoming. A class act just like Dogtown. With love, Sammies Dad
St Bernard’s is where we took our GSD that ate half of his bed when nobody else had any availability short notice. They have a great and caring staff, and we also took all 3 of our cats to them to be seen. Wonderful veterinarians and vet techs. The front desk staff is absolutely lovely. Little on the pricier side, but I’m used to taking my animals to a middle of nowhere country farm vet back home in Alabama and paying almost nothing, but the quality of care is definitely worth the price. They also helped us get our meds for our dog when we were traveling too. Made it super easy and convenient.
After being told I need to have my Chow on medication to calm him down before bringing him to his appointment from previous vet that seemed to be scared of my dog I was so happy to have found St.Bernard’s Animal Hospital. He got all his shots, exam, blood work within 10 minutes and the nurse had him back with me ready to go home, not sure if it’s because the vet is a previous Chow owners l but she was awesome and we are here to stay. I also want to say great job on the whole place and I’m very pleased with super friendly staff. Whole place smells amazing.
This place is incredible! I took my dog Penny here after she was throwing up all morning and they got her seen immediately. The ladies at the front desk are kind and efficient. Dr. Hansen is so awesome, very thorough and honest about treatments. The doc and nurse Heather were SO kind to Penny. Since she's been abused, she can be skittish with new people and they were so patient and gentle with her. The visit was quick and efficient and they called to followup on her results and check progress. Absolutely go to this vet if you can!
Staff & Veterinary Staff very polite & professional . we have been using St Bernard’s for our dog’s care since she she was about 4 months old . Unfortunately our 8 year old Pup is not at all co-operative when being seen & she just wiggles & whines the whole time no matter how nice & comforting everyone attempts to be. She is not aggressive just a big baby but a difficult patient regardless . Thank you to St Bernard’s for always trying to comfort her. Also appreciate feedback from her physical & care for her paw injury..
For the last 25 years, since we moved from Baltimore, we have been looking for a vet as good as the one we had there, that we could afford. Finally we found Dr Sadler at St Bernards. We've never had an office or vet, care so much for our pets and help us understand what's going on since we have come back. And we do not have an easy cat to deal with. We liked another vet quite a bit but we just could not afford them. We highly recommend Dr Sadler and Saint Bernards. We hope Dr Sadler stays there for a long time.
Overall: excellent! The facilities are the best ones I’ve seen in Jacksonville (veterinary and other pet related offices/stores within the building). The Team is knowledgeable and attentive; not only when we took our dog for routinely visits and care, but even more so when we had to put him to sleep; all of the Team was so caring and cognizant of such a hard moment; they not only prepared the room, but even sent us a personalized post card by mail after. Highly recommended.
Rebel and I are obsessed with this hospital ♥️ I tried to schedule a surgery a day before I move to North Carolina, and they refused because that would be uncomfortable for my baby. They could have easily said yes and took the money. They could have easily disregarded my dog’s health but they didn’t I am super grateful for them! I can’t wait to see them when we get back to Florida I would highly recommend this vet hospital for all of your fur baby needs
Having and helping several cats over the years, in my home state, Florida, and in California, I can say with confidence that St, Bernard Animal Hospital exceeded all of my expectations and provided one of the best experiences I’ve had in a veterinary office for myself AND my beloved cats. Finding a vet you are comfortable with, confident in and that is able to provide affordable care is unheard of. Thank you to the amazing doctors and wonderful staff!!
Very professional and I was called as I had to get additional shots for grooming but the process was so easy (all done onsite) and they explained the vet costs upfront and there were no surprises. The staff were great. Location is great - but most importantly my dog was super happy when he got picked up & smelt and looked great. Watching the dogs (not mine) playing in the on-site pool made me want to book boarding here too when we next travel.
I rushed in w/ a dying young cat-the ENTIRE STAFF was professional & very caring. They all seemed to work so well as a team which I know isn’t always an easy task so I appreciate it even more. Dr Josh was spectacular bc he was honest, knowledgeable, caring & took time 2 explain what procedures would be best for my pet. The great new is THEY SAVED Lil’ Marilyn & we were not sure it could be done. I thank u & so does lil’ Marilyn.
My dog needed some help. It was last minute nothing crazy but I called early morning and asked for a chance for my dog to be seen. Even though they were very busy they had no issue offering assistance. The staff was amazing and I did not even wait that long even though they gave me a heads up that it was possible. Again, great attitude from all. Can’t be more happy and want to thank everyone there for a great visit.
My new bengal kitten needed surgery to amputate one of his hind legs (a genetic problem). Dr. Sadler was amazing. She took her time explaining everything from the initial x-ray to postoperative care. She was knowledgeable and compassionate every step of the way. Angie the vet tech was also phenomenal! As well as the ladies at the front desk. They made a tough situation bearable. Thank you St. Bernards for the love!
I very much appreciate having a place I can call and get in the day I need something. I don’t call to get my dog in cause I’m worried about something that can be held off for two weeks…. And that’s been my case with vets in the past. St. Bernard’s is a breath of fresh air in that it has walk in hours daily, and is a hospital so in an emergency you can get in. Very happy that we’ve found this place and live near by
Our pups are a huge part of our family and every Staff Member at St. Bernard's equally treated us and our pups as family. St. Bernard's has been apart of our family with our pups since they were 8 weeks old... to unfortunately, one of them to their last breathe. We appreciate the love, care, compassion and professionalism in helping us provide our pets the best life possible. Paw Love, Argos, Astrid and Malachi
Dr. Josh, and his tech (I'm sorry, I forgot her name) were amazing with both of our girls. They were very nervous, and they handled them calmly and professionally but were still very caring and friendly. They both spent time with us explaining different things we needled to be aware of, but had never been told in detail. Very professional, honest and caring. Will definitely bring our girls back to Dr. Josh.
We love the staff and doctors at St. Bernard’s! They are so sweet and kind and professional. I always know my fur babies are getting the best care. We’ve had to say goodbye to a couple of our babies over the years and the staff were so compassionate and supportive during what are some of the worst life moments. I can’t thank them enough for all that they’ve done and still do for our furry family members. ❤️
I always enjoyed St. Bernard’s on San Jose as a one stop shop for my doodle. He has done daycare, boarding, grooming and vet visits. They all have been absolutely fantastic. Never a long wait. Everything is clean and smells good. They have nice, friendly and attentive staff that are all knowledgeable in their specialties. Thanks for providing a great all around service at a fair price point.
Every time I have brought my fur babies to st Bernard’s animal hospital, whether it’s for an urgent walk in, or annual vet check up, not only are they amazing with my babies and treat them like they are their own family, they truly listen to all of my concerns and comments. I have already sent many friends/acquaintances to this office and I will continue to do so!
I'm so thankful for Dr. Sadler and the staff!!! They made us feel like we were a part of a family and not just another number when it came to our sweet girl Xoie. There was never a moment that I wasn't prepped for an undesirable outcome and they were extremely empathetic to our needs. Would definitely recommend to anyone to bring their animals here ❤️
I honestly dont think i want to take my dog to any other vet ever Dr sadler and her staff are amazing. Dr sadler especially is so down to earth and you can tell she really loves animals, she sits on the floor with my bailey and loves on her. I really feel like my dogs are in good hands with her. What a blessing to find a vet like this for my pets. Thank you
Professional yet amazing bedside manner. Loves and cares every pet as if it is their own. Extremely clean facility. Fantastic staff! Got to give another 5 stars ⭐️ to the best vet tech around, Alexus Santiago.she is extremely Knowledgeable, loving and caring and always puts everyones “babies” needs first while also caring for their owners as well!!
Able to get an appointment in less than 2 hours. No wait at office. Didn't try to sell me things Fluffy didn't need. Dr. Hansen was very knowledgeable and helpful. The front desk staff are very nice and professional and their prices are very reasonable. I have been using St. Bernard's Animal Hospital for years and always will, they are great! :)
From entry to exit the staff was extremely kind and helpful and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at a clinic. They were efficient and knowledgeable and i decided I definitely wanted to take my other two cats there as well. I wish every clinic was run the way theres was. Things seemed very clean and I can’t wait to be back.
The staff at St. Bernard’s Animal Hospital is incredible! They were so sweet from the moment they took our call! They walked us through being a new puppy family and patiently answered all our questions. They called us a couple days later to check on our new puppy. The location is amazing and the Dog Town they are apart of is so fun!!
I love this place. I’m super happy that I took my dog to have his annual check up here. 100% recommended!////updated review: now that Kai is gone since last week (9.2.2023) I can say that the whole staff in this hospital has a huge heart and they actually care about all the pets and the pet’s families…. Always thankful …
Just moved to the area and needed to bring my bouvi in on a Saturday for his skin. The staffing was great in handling a new walk in. Saw Dr. Josh and was very helpful and honest. My bouvi skin is doing much better. They arent the closest Animal Hospital to us but they will definitely be our main one to handle anything forward.
All team members are awesome! They let my cat, Fuyu, take time to calm down and let him come out of the carrier himself. They were very thorough and kind to the both of us! Fuyu felt very comfortable with them, which is a first with a vet for him! I only took one of my cats but I plan on making both patients with them!
The vet informed me that there was a small chance of my puppy having a reaction to her vaccine, and to bring her back if she showed symptoms in the next hour. I had to go to work right after my appointment, so I wouldn’t be able to monitor her. St Bernard’s offered to hang onto her for the afternoon, free of charge!
We switched from an other vet who was just a little bit further away from us to St. Bernards animal Hospital. The care and service we got was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend St. Bernards to anyone who is looking for a veterinarian, who are compassionate, caring, and really take time with your animal.
This staff at this animal hospital is so warm and welcoming. Dr. Josh was really good examining the family dog and was very on point in letting us know the report. Price are reasonable, especially when it comes with a peace of mind of the quality of healthcare service your family pet is receiving.
I love St Bernards, and especially love Dr Sadler. My dog used to be very difficult and I’d have to sedate her. They are so good with her, I don’t even sedate her anymore and she does great. They really listened to me as to the best way to deal with her. Highly recommend all of their doctors.
Very welcoming and kind, love that they have walk in visits if your pet is ill. They even called to check on her! I will go back. My only suggestion is that I would have liked them to tell me what they were going to do to my pet before they did it, but what they did was not extraneous.
The doctors and staff there seem to truly care about all the animals they see. They are a bit pricier than other veterinarian clinics I’ve been to in the past, but with their services as good as they are I think the price is worth it to keep your fluffy child happy and healthy.
Maisie was at Daycare and St Bernard’s picked her up for her appointment (St. Bernard’s and Dogtown USA are in the same building) and take her back. The convenience is amazing but the staff is amazing. They truly treat your furry family member like one of their own.
Dr Joshua is absolutely amazing. He and the rest of the staff took amazing care of my poodle Penelope. He gave me multiple options for treatment, explained the “why”, and made me aware of what to expect moving forward. Couldn’t have asked for a better veterinarian!
Visited there from New York and everyone was very friendly and showed me all around. The staff was very nice and Alexus is a very loving and compassionate Tech who loves all the animals that come there. I give her five stars for caring for all the pets that come.
We make an appointment and mostly get in and out. Dr. Hansen is the greatest as he sits with us and goes over everything. And they call a couple days after to check on the dogs. It's a great experience. The staff is caring and assists us with all our needs.
10 stars from us and more importantly from ROCKO our 15ish month old (adopted from JaxHumaneSociety) American Staffordshire Bull Terrier. From front door to out the door couldn't have asked for a more professional, seriously helpful and friendly staff.
Recently had to put down my beloved Great Dane and they took excellent care of us on our last visit. They were compassionate, gentle and made the experience as good as it could be under the circumstances. I would highly recommend them and Dr. Sadler.
Dr. O Neill was very kind. I liked that they did all vaccines and tests in the room, and also didn’t push anything or make me feel bad if I declined something. Everyone was very friendly. Overall, it was a really great experience. Thank you so much.
Dr Sophie O’Neill is my cat’s vet and she’s really so kind and compassionate. I appreciate how kind and patient all the staff at St. Bernard’s is and how they quickly work you in when needed or when it’s an emergency. Very good people and good vet.
My dog wasn’t feeling well and they were able to get her in the same day. She was brought into a room to be seen almost as soon as we arrived, and the vet was very knowledgeable and professional. I was very satisfied with the outcome of my visit.
My little Emmy is sick. And they were so kind and gentle with her and very understanding how much I would be able to pay for her services that day. And what I like the most is they couldn't get over how cute and animated she was, thank you
These folks are incredibly attentive and kind to furbabies. After each appointment we have, they make a follow-up call to make sure my dog is doing well and to find out if I have any questions. Great veterinarians and a terrific staff!
I have never felt more comfortable about my fur baby's care since I discovered St.Bernard's . Between the day care, boarding, grooming & St. Bernard's all working together to care for Walter, I can rest easy and enjoy my free time!
Always have had pets and have used a couple vets in the area and we love St Bernard’s! So friendly, great service, great care for out pets! It’s always so calm when we go in there, smells good, feels clean and pretty smiling faces!
I have used St. Bernard’s for 10 plus years. Gave them a 4 for two reasons: The turn over of the staff, The waiting rooms could use fresh paint & other ancillary items. If they did it would really bring it up to a 5 !!!
Fantastic establishment and they got my cat to do things that I can’t do and my cat absolutely put up no fuss and let them do anything they wanted to her. Since the visit she has be so very loving. I am deeply amazed!
There is no one else I would trust with my fur babies than the staff at St Bernard’s!! The facility is always clean, the staff is polite and knowledgeable, and they truly love your animals like their own.
Great service! Everyone is so nice! The veterinarian Josh took time to explain things about the medication and food for my Dog. He was also very caring and showed concern! Would recommend to everyone!
St. Bernard animal Hospital is an excellent place to bring your pets. They are not just caring and warm, but they take the time to be with you, and we trust them implicitly. I am a physician myself.
Just moved here from WA. The whole staff was so kind and told me they’ve been looking forward to seeing my pet all day. All my questions were answered and they made my cat feel very comfortable :)
We absolutely love St. Bernard's and Dr. Nelligan. She is caring and compassionate and let's you know all of your options. She went above and beyond to make sure my pets were well taken care of.
Dr. Sadler & Dr. Hanson are both so wonderful and friendly. They are great with both my dog & cat. The staff are also super friendly and welcoming every visit whether routine or unexpected.
Have been taking my fur babies to this vet for about three years. Have experienced professionalism, great customer support and have a lot of confidence with the staff. Highly recommend.
Saint Bernard’s is fabulous!! We especially love Dr. Hansen and the hospital manager Stephanie! They take such wonderful care of all my fur babies, absolutely not going anywhere else.
New to JAX . Took my Lucy for her yearly check and vaccines here . What a wonderful office ! The Vets and staff clearly love animals .. most excellent care ! Would recommend highly !
The staff is always so cheerful and helpful and the doctors are fabulous. I have older animals so I love that they are open 6 days a week and have walk-in hours 9-11, 2-4 every day.
The staff were all sweet with my old boy. They were patient, kind, and gentle to help with his vet anxiety. Also loved there’s a pet store right next door, really convenient !
Dr sadler is so good with my pup and its always nice to work with her. My dog sushi loves her. They are very quick and its been great having them available on short notice.
The staff at St Bernard’s are wonderful. They understood how heart breaking it was when it was time for my dog to cross the rainbow bridge. They were caring and respectful.
They are always so good with my pup and always so friendly. Their communication is great as well. All around a wonderful place to take your pet! I won't go anywhere else
The staff has always been great. I took Guinney to be groomed and he also needed his allergy shot so I stopped in to St.Bernards and they said they could do it.
Dr. Saddler has been and continues to be one of the best vets I have ever been to. I would recommend her to anyone of my friends or family members with pets!
Saint Bernards is caring, fast and efficient always showing great love for all the dogs. My Puppy is excited every time she gets to go spend the day & swim.
Dr Josh and Dr Sadler are just amazing! Very caring and thorough. They took the time to make my fur babies feel comfortable and not stressed. Thank you.
Dr. Hansen is a great vet. Very caring & knowledgeable. All of our fur kids have been to him. I definitely recommend him for pet treatment. …
Always friendly and helpful. The staff is fantastic. The Drs are good. I love the fact they are inside the daycare facility just in case.
Great place. Spacious & clean. After taking you pet to there drs. appt., take them to get a treat at the Earth Pets natural Pet Market.
Dr. Sadler is a gem. She really cares about your animal and very well knowledge. I am glad that I started coming there with my babies.
Staff were very professional and welcoming. They took good care of Pinkie. The facilities are very clean and presentable as well.
The absolute best staff! Everybody is always so caring, even with my difficult old man. I trust the doctors with his care!
Very nice and friendly staff, the doctor knows exactly what happens with our puppy and she is better because of him …
Dr. Hansen and staff are great! Very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They want what's best for your pet.
Our beagle, Dolly, really liked her new vet. Everyone was kind and thoughtful. So glad we came to St Bernard's.
Great doctors and staff, Dr sadlee took great care of my kids, 2 chi mixes. Thank you so much. Recommend!
Very friendly and Dr. Josh is very thorough, which is wonderful compared to vets we’ve had in the past.
Very professional and friendly folks. Treat me and my pets with the utmost of care!!! Love you guys!
We love Dr Hansen and his staff… I always recommend them to our family and friends that need a vet
