this review is late and is a little lengthy, on 9/18/2020 i came in as a trauma patient to this hospital by ambulance, due to a brutal attack that happened close to this hospital, the ambulance crew i can definitely give 5 stars to, i came in with my right arm severely broken and my right elbow shattered with bone fragments from my arm and elbow in my right shoulder. the er doctor was friendly and tried to make me laugh even though i was in severe pain and had constant panic attacks due to the situation. he had ordered x rays and had given me oral pain meds prior to the x ray, i told him that it wasn't going to phase the injury he explained well that i would be given an iv with more pain meds once the x ray was completed. i went to x ray didn't last 5 min, the tech was so professional and nice, he was able to send me back to the er to get more pain meds before completing all 12 films, once i got back to the er the nurses were prompt to my needs, got me back to x ray again to complete all x rays. due to all the rooms being filled by other sick ppl, i was put in a room across from triage, kinda hard to explain where exactly but its that room behind the wooden door in the er. there were a triage nurse sitting behind the glass who was rude telling me i was being too loud and that i needed to calm down, mind you now i am normally a very calm person in the er but after what happened who would be calm in a situation like that, i told her that i needed something to calm me down and that i was having severe anxiety after the attack, and i wanted to see my husband who was on the other side of the door in the er waiting to see me, she refused saying i was not to see or talk to him, finally an orthopedic surgeon came and saw me, allowed me to see my husband, showed us the x rays, explained what surgery i needed the next day and had me admitted what was supposed to be a week. my only complaint with the er is that the nurses need to have more compassion for the patients regardless why they are there , this is for the triage nurses who sit behind that glass, not the nurses in the back of the er, anyways once i got upstairs my care was great leading up to the surgery , the day after my surgery is when my care went from 5 stars to 1. i had an asian nurse who was rude, no bedside manner at all, my surgeon had it ordered to where i was to get meds every 2 hours, this nurse did not follow dr orders to the point we had to get the medical director involved, also the surgeon who did my actual surgery, not the one who admitted me put wat too many screws in my arm to the point i had to have 2 more surgeries here in mt to correct his mistakes and now due to his neglience i have a permanent disability in my arm. the moral to this review is that doctors need to slow down and listen to the patients and nurses should be more compassionate. i understand the er is busy and they are stressed out and tired, but don't take out on the patients

I would rate St. Joseph’s a 5 in all aspects related to patient care. They are not perfect and I’ve had some “off” experiences in the past in the ER but I would not hesitate to go there for care at all. It is a teaching hospital and I’ve had the opportunity to be an inpatient there a few times because of my asthma. Care is excellent for the most part. However, I rated them a three overall. Their billing functions rate a big fat zero because of the enormous discrepancy between their negotiated rates with Medicare billed at the point of service and the outsourced billing department that sends out bills after the fact. For example, the negotiated payment for my Fasenra treatment with Medicare is under $500.00. My copay is $40. I pay that at the time of service. Yet, the billing department sends me a bill afterwards for $1375! This is ridiculous! There is no one in the outsourced billing group to speak with because they claim they are using the codes assigned by an outsourced coding department (vs the ones assigned at the time of service by Optum). No one in coding will talk to me either. They are “just following orders” but cannot tell me who to speak with at the hospital who gives them the orders. It is incredulous to me that the back office functions of St. Joseph’s are so disjointed and no one in patient accounting (a director who is an employee) has ultimate accountability for the results of their collective efforts in revenue cycle functions. I’m a hospital consultant and this is appalling to me. The hospital put me into collections several times since 7/2020 over these bills. I get this treatment infusion every two months. As a result, my credit rating dropped from 710 down to 520 in less than the span of a year! I worked very hard after my husband died in 2019 to get my credit up. Due to a lack of communications between the Optum group who determines the up front costs for services (an outsourced group from United Healthcare empowered to manage point of care billing at the time of service), the outsourced coders, and the final billers who send out the over inflated invoices that differ so wildly from the negotiated rate, my credit is destroyed. All my hard work is down the drain. I am collecting a file of evidence of what the negotiated rate is, what I paid and what they billed. After doing some research on my behalf on this matter, Optum was kind enough to give me the name of an actual employee in patient advocacy in the revenue department to speak with at St. Joe’s. Once I have everything pulled together and summarized going back to 7/2020, I will set up an appointment with that person to review it all. This has all been so frustrating and depressing. What’s ironic is the treatment I receive has been a real salvation for me. It enabled me to get off oral steroids for my asthma, and as a result, I was able to drop over 150 lbs since July of 2020.

The ER was great. They were attentive as possible with how many people were there. However when I got transferred upstairs, the vibe completely changed. I was made to feel like an inconvenience. I have not eaten in 4 days and their menu for cafeteria does not sound appealing at all. So I ask my nurse if I can get DoorDash. I wait for a response for 30 min and she finally says yes. I follow up with asking can you get me some ranch from the cafeteria? (I don’t eat fries without ranch it’s gross to me lol) she tells me yes prompting me to order from a food place that has good food but doesn’t carry ranch. When it arrived my dasher called my nurse directly. I overhear her saying she’ll be down in 5 min, 30-40 minutes pass and I finally receive my food. I ask can I heat this up? It’s freezing because it was sitting there for over 30 minutes. She said no cuz you’ve already came in contact with it… but the food was completely sealed in a bag. So now I’m going on day 5 no food and I wasted $30 dollars on cold food that they won’t even let me heat up. On top of all of this, I’ve been waiting on fluids and antibiotics for about 2 hours. I’m extremely dehydrated I have sepsis pneumonia. They were all aware that the Tylenol type thing they gave me DID NOT TOUCH MY PAIN. the only reason I felt kind of ok was because the ER gave me a perc. I was screaming in pain. It’s coming back and she’s refusing to give what actually helps until she tries it again. The ER gave it twice and nothing happened. So I hope they enjoy my screams down the hallway because I’m in so much pain due to their stupidity. They took 30 minutes to give me water knowing I’m dehydrated and don’t have fluids. Iv been disconnected for so long it’s bloody all over. I told her and there was zero reaction or empathy. If you don’t like helping people DONT BE A NIRSE!!!!! I love this ER but don’t get admitted cuz they seriously don’t care. The call button that connects you to a more never ever does what she says she will. Waited 45 minutes and ended up calling my nurse directly and it still took 20 min. Disappointed. Edit: a supervisor came and spoke to me and I’ve got to say I changed my star rating due to how much the care improved once Jody was no longer my nurse and Crystal was off shift. Crystal just needs to be retrained and learn time management, but Jody should NOT be a nurse. However everyone else doctors supervisors and nurses alike made this stay not as horrible as it should’ve been. Thank you. I am home now and recovering.

I NEARLY DIED LAST WEEK FOR SOMETHING THEY IGNORED 3+ MONTHS AGO, AND I WISH I COULD SUE THEM...Be aware, especially if you are a black person (like me) coming to this hospital. I went to this hospital a total of 4 times between May and July 2023 for heart palpations, chest pains, and dizziness, high blood pressure and feeling like death. Each time they kept me waiting no LESS than 5 hours, even when there weren't alot of people there. And the 4th time I was there, they eventually called my name and led me to one of their typical consulting beds where I laid alone for about 30 minutes, only to hear them whispering about me behind the curtain saying my case wasn't urgent enough and they needed to give it to an older white man saying "he needs priority". One of the assistants comes and escorts me BACK TO THE WAITING ROOM...it was humiliation at it's finest. I sat in the waiting room an additional 4 hours, and in the end they told me "next time you might be better off going to a heart hospital." Back to my point, each of the times I went here, they drew my blood, but never explained the results. There was no typical "range chart" to go off of like there usually is when a physician does a blood test. They said "here's your discharge papers, have a good day." Fast forward to September 17th 2023, and I was having the worst menstrual cycle of my life, bleeding for 10 days straight with no sign of stopping. I ALMOST consider coming back here, but common sense said no. I go to Banner Thunderbird instead and explain my symptoms and next thing I know I am getting called to the back in record time. Turns out I was suffering from ITP where the immune system destroys healthy blood platelets. My body only had 2,000 platelets when the human body needs at least 200,000 platelets so that it is able to clot when it needs to and also have a chance to fight against sickness!!! I spent 4 days at Banner while they transfused platelets into me. I was also diagnosed diabetic since being at "Terrible Joe's" and I have 2 leaky heart valves, as well as anemia which I told this place numerous times. I would have bled out had I come to this hospital on September 17th because they would have had me waiting 6 hours just to send me home... F this hospital

This hospital needs a complete overhaul. From the staff, to the cleanliness. I was there for 4.5 hrs last night. Sunday night, 7 pm until 1130. Not terrible for an ER. I went for pain in my left hip, I can barely walk. My left foot is swollen. The Dr had decided it must be a blood clot. Understandable. But Ultrasound was clear. NEVER orders an Xray of my hip or back. Just my foot. Now I'm in even more pain than before and will be on my way to a second ER shortly (it's been 4 hrs and I can't move without vomiting due to pain). While there, they wouldn't let me leave until I gave them a urine sample - because I'm female and they don't believe me I'm not pregnant. Asanine. I'm in for back problems - getting urine was extremely difficult. Not to mention, I had to ask for a second bathroom option, as the first one they sent me to had bloody urine all over the seat. 3 homeless individuals were trying to escape on several occasions. And because you're just waiting in a regular chair in a hallway, you have to cower while security is chasing them around. People in handcuffs and leg shackles are poorly supervised because the officers are too busy flirting with nurses. They want to do blood draws while you're in those chairs in the hallway, so everyone's watching yours and clearly not a very sanitary way of collecting. The walls are filthy up to about knee height. Their carts they're pushing around have filth and even dust balls collecting on them. NO privacy while registration is intaking, during discharge, etc - because you're still in the chairs. I understand this is to increase volume, but it's putting a ton of people, their health, and their information at a great risk.

I am not happy with the experience I had with this place. So my fiancé ended up being transported to the hospital from work due to chest pains. I was coming to be with him when I first went to the ER since thats where I figured they would have taken him. Soft spoken security guard tells me he is in the 350 building and i need to drive around to the other side. Which I could not find anyone to their complementary valet so i self parked no ticket given. Walked towards the 350 building from the 6th ave garage to find no way in the building except by going into the labor and delivery area and then to find not a single person it was low key kinda scary. I finally just went to the sexons floor where an awesome lady from a special unit actually toon her time and called the information desk to see where he was and she actually took me to the 7 floor where a short lady had clearly seen me walked away and then seemed to have attitude that I didn’t have a sticker on to go see him. I was like I need to go back to the first floor and talk to noone because it was a ghost town just to come back up and get me to the room that she said outloud after i had given his first name and last name and dob so I just asked her to give him his clothes because at that time visiting hours would have given me 15 mins

My wife needed to have an angiogram at this location. From the moment we walked in the door to the mall we left the service was amazing. Every person we interacted with was pleasant, kind, and patient has went through the process of getting checked in and getting to see the doctor. If you have to have an angiogram, then we would highly recommend Dr. Ducruet. He took the time to explain everything that was going to happen and allow us time to ask questions before the procedure. And once the angiogram was complete, he personally came to deliver the news and what was found in the direction that we needed to take. In this case, there was nothing to do with schedule MRI in the next couple of years. Great news for us and we are very blessed together. Our intake nurse Pamela was amazing. She also answered any questions we might have it was very patient with us getting things ready for procedure. Our postop nurse Melissa, was absolutely amazing. My wife had a pretty severe headache that would not go away and Melissa spent time treating her. She was very patient despite the fact that we were the very last people to leave and most of her team had already left for the day. We really appreciate both Pamela and Melissa for their kindness, patience and amazing bedside manner.

I paid over $300 before i checked out. Which is what I was told I owed after insurance for my days visit. That’s fine, Paid it. A month later I received an additional bill, somewhere around $60 for the provider. Okay, paid. I then received an additional $10 bill (after insurance) for the test they ran while I was in there. Fine, all paid. Followed by an additional bill for over $500 for….if not the doctor, not the facility, not the test, for what? A bill that I’ve tried numerous times to speak with the business side of the department only to have my call hung up on, and ignored. They spam call you with a machine, I assume to discuss the unpaid bill (which I would love to do), but it’s not even a person that’s answers when you pick up, it’s a robot that talks about billing options. When you’re finally prompted to speak to a person it puts you on hold for no less than twenty minutes. You called me to put me on hold? What sense does that make? Oh and then I get connected but as mentioned I either get hung up on or sent to voicemail. I’m fine with paying my fair share but would love some answers first.

The physician assistant and the attending dismissed me and did absolutely no tests to see if I was stable or not experiencing an emergency. They informed me they do not do tests and do not provide treatment if they don't think it is an emergency situation. Ive been to emergency rooms for urinary tract infections and gotten better care than I did for vision loss, which is an emergency situation in any other hospital in America. They had a 3 minute conversation with me and without even checking my vitals after the 3 hour wait, I was dismissed. If I lose my vision in my left eye these two providers and this hospital are first on my medical malpractice list. Please don't go here. They clearly hate their jobs and have no care for their patients and if they don't care, you will not receive help.

The staff at St. Joseph's Hospital an Medical Center are outstanding. I received excellent care there. Better yet I was treated as a unique individual. My cares and concerns were listened to and acted upon to make sure I was comfortable and kept up to date on my case and conditions. The only concerns I had were at the discharge waiting area, which seemed somewhat organized. There seemed to be more concern with whose wheelchair belonged to which group. This is probably the only time where I felt that I did not know what was going on. Despite this I was still discharged in a timely manner, although I observed others who were waiting an excessively long time. The discharge issues were minor, to me, and I felt that I was given outstanding care.

Family memeber was in here for a misdiagnosed infection. Tons of specialists and they all had a different story and told us different plans. Surgery and not surgery, not allowed to eat yeah you can. Told us to wait in surgery waiting room and we could see him after. They NEVER got us despite him being PACU on screen. He called me from his room. He sat in a puddle of spilled water for 30 min until I got there to help him, get him new socks and mop up the floor. I changed his sheets. Dirty linen in a pile going on 5 days. Today he fell and has new injuries because no one came to help him when he pushed call button. Horrible nurse response and care with only 1 individual as the exception on day 3. I will never recommend this place.

  • Judy Kenney

The staff of the ER was friendly, professional, and gave me very good care. I have one complaint. After all of my x-rays were done, I was placed in a small waiting room. In the same room were an elderly couple, she with a mask only covering her mouth and he without a mask. They were being seen by their private MD. They walked by my daughter and me several times. My daughter and I both wore surgical masks. Before I was discharged, we learned they were both positive for covid. Now my daughter and I both have covid. Being a retired ER nurse I found it poor protocol to allow sick unmasked patients in a small room with non-sick patients. I hope you will think seriously about this matter. Thank you for asking me for feedback.

From my referral at the beginning of my journey to going home after surgery, my experience at St Joe’s/Barrows Neurological Hospital was great. They communicated very well, followed up with any questions and concerns I had and were very respectful and responsive. Dr Yuan, Dr Little and Dr Santarelli were my doctors and their teams were patient, kind and each and every time I called to ask a question or confirm an appointment, the process to get through to their office was quick and easy. I was thoroughly impressed with the whole team during and after my surgery and the hospital as a whole. Two thumbs up, 5 Gold Stars and 1000% would recommend to anyone who needed neurological care. Thank you!

From Yma, the woman who checked me in, to the Recovery nurse at the end of the day, everyone could not have been nicer. The staff was knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. I especially applaud the young men, including the physician, who did my heart procedure. They knew what they were doing and put me at ease. The anaestheologist kept me well informed, relaxed, and out of pain...even if I couldn't talk her into using propofol. She has a wonderful sense of humor as did everyone involved. I recommend St. Joe's cardiology department one hundred percent. The physician let me watch what was happening on a monitor and was kind enough to explain everything. Great job!

  • Desiree Barron

The staff at Saint Josephs is extremely compassionate and empathetic. I am so grateful that we chose to come here for my grandmothers treatment. The hospital flow is always busy and we are very understanding of that. The job of a registered nurse is very very difficult and I give them credit for staying kind and patient with us and our needs as a family. The techs were also very kind and helpful. The doctors spoken with clarity and answered all questions and really took the time to listen to our concerns and discuss what the next step is for my grandmother. I would recommend this hospital over the hospitals I have witnessed. Thanks for reading.

  • Marie Ave

The best birthing experience ever thanks to Midwife Tracy Mcdougall! I had a natural birth no epidural and omg she made all the difference. She was so kind and helpful. I don’t think I have heard good stories from anyone I know and I can happily say that wasn’t my case. I knew I was in the best hands under her care she reassured me when I was already tired and helped me get through my birth seamlessly and the birthing part was easy and painless thanks to her guidance. Do not hesitate on getting care from the Midwives at St Joseph they go above and beyond excellent first class care and attention. Oh and my postpartum nurse was also amazing.

  • Mike Espinoza

I was attend to with very little waiting time both times I was there. But most of all your receptionist to nurses to fnps We're magnificent and we're extremely kind , courteous and attended to me And reassured me concerning my condition. All in all grace under pressure I want to commend St Joseph Hospital. I was born in the old wing in 1956. 67 years later Went for my 1st emergency visit. I told my family when something happens to me. Like that Old song. "Do you know the way to San Jose" I'll be there. Thank you so very much, I am getting better. So far do good All honors and devotions to Our Lady of Sorrows Michael Espinoza

  • Ambar Valadez

I would give them a Zero if i could...I normally never leave comments to the hospital and I understand there patients have more urgent care then others but come on... 11 hours waiting for a freaking MRI that my husband's doctor needed. I never waited this long from any hospital I have been. The staff are wonderful nice friendly and helpful when we came and ask them questions but 11 hours to get call then wait again for the MRI. If I could I would have take him to another hospital close were we live plus i have two little one that are waiting for us. Never coming back and tell friends and family members to not come here

  • S Binder

Not that impressed with case managers as they were all over the place with where to send my daughter. Had to stay longer because of it. The first nurse we had for 3 days was excellent. The next one was less than satisfactory and didn’t check on my daughter for several hours multiple times. Not too many helpful people around. For a hospital that is supposed to be so Catholic/Christian, it doesn’t feel spiritual at all. Was way more spiritual and friendly when we were at Valleywise Medical Center for 5 weeks. Workers there literally stopped to pray over my daughter. St. Jo’s should hire people like that.

  • Darcie Clifton

Dr was great. The pre op procedure people could've been alot more friendly. Post procedure people were so so. You don't get much help or in my case not much help or assistance being I'm paralyzed which they should've known after dealing with the surgeon from a past hospitalizations there. I will say hospitalizations of my past there were NOT a pleasant Experiance and I swore I'd never return however this particular procedure wasn't related in anyway so that's why I gave this Dr a chance. Experiance wasn't bad but not exceptional either. That's always been my experience there though

  • Julie Kohler

I have never had any worse experience with a hospitalization as I did with this last one. From the time I arrived at the ER to the moment I was pushed out of the hospital. I have never felt so unwelcome as I did with this hospital stay. I had one nurse that was very good and helpful but for the most part everyone else (except for the surgery team who are almost always amazing) was either downright rude or just indifferent. I don't have the time, space or energy to go into more detail. I am seriously wondering why I continue to use at. Joseph's and dignity Health at all.

  • Kathy Stryski

Very through. I had 14 tests in E.D. (ER) Great staff. Although this is the first time in my 80 some yrs that blood draws turned the draw spots purple. I was there for 5 hrs. I got two Antibiotic prescriptions. I would have liked to stay, but alas I went home. This is Day 5 with RXs and I am very tired. At previous ER visits this past year, I was diagnosed with Pneumonia and other time; Pneumonia/COVID. I was sent home both times without any meds. Maybe these were viral, not bacterial (?). I left there very sick and I just didn't understand why.

  • Rodney Dear

Dr. Gohel was the worst. He showed up 45 minutes late with no explanation no consideration, smugly, smiling, saying are we ready? Or something like that. He never explained to me what he was going to do and never bothered to visit me post procedure to let me know he found anything, or if I should have anything to be concerned about. Instead, a nurse had to come out after another 20 minutes waiting at the exit doors in the wheelchair for him to come out and he never did. Dr Gohel should be reprimanded and removed from your Medical staff

  • Thomas B

Upon arriving, I was shaking on a stretcher in absolute pain. Ruptured disc. Shaking and couldn’t stop. Immediately they put me in the lobby. Almost for 2 hours shaking. I vomited all on the floor because I couldn’t take it the pain. Out of disgust, they finally brought someone to take me in. Never been in so much pain and for so long. Doctor made me go home by any means necessary. I could barely move a step. Thank God for a friend. Only thing is shoutout to the 2 nurses that helped me get into the car. Only compassion I seen.

  • Lisa Amore

Doctors and Anesthesiologist honored my request for NO Narcotic or opioid pain meds. Nurses were extremely busy, but kind and helpful. Meals were healthy and flavorful. Physical therapists were informative and gave practical guidance. Only shortcoming was the Caseworker was harsh and abrasive in her manner. I have turned to St. Joseph's Hospital since I was six years old for every important medical event of my life. I am now 64 years old and i wouldn't want to be anywhere else. At St Joe's Humankindness is indeed overflowing.

  • Jennifer Branham

I've had 2 surgeries and an ER visit, there now. I wouldn't go anywhere else! (I drove almost an hour to get there, as I live in Surprise) From the moment I walked thru the doors everyone was so nice! I felt cared for. I felt like I was being heard. They made me feel like I was the only patient!! It made it a lot easier for me to deal with my anxiety about being there. There is no one specific person to acknowledge because EVERYONE there is Amazing that I dealt with! Thank you for the awesome care I received

  • Fatimah Halim

I was recently hospitalized for surgery on a broken tibia. Being hospitalized is not the best experience but Saint Joseph’s staff is absolutely the best. Every shift brought their best; from the assistants to the nurses To the doctors. They were attentive, patient, responsive, kind, accommodating, and anything you could possibly need when you’re in a predicament like hospitalization. Bless each and every one of you Lung & Heart Tower, 7th floor staff. You are true angels. Much appreciated.

  • Tedde Stegemann

I have a dear friend that had a double Lung Transplant here at St Joseph’s Hospital, I am visiting her everyday. This young man Robbie at valet parking greets me with his warm welcoming smile everyday. He is kind and so helpful. The whole group is wonderful and really helps in a time of need. All the staff at the hospital is amazing but I know that I am in an unknown city and Robbie and the others always make me feel safe and that is most important to me. Thank you!!!

  • Stacy F

Facility was nice and most of the staff was awesome. Experienced a couple people that probably should have taken the day off as they didn’t have the ability to be friendly. My worst experience has been me trying to follow up on the claim they submitted to my insurance. I’ve called in and got a nasty attitude and I’ve also filled out the online form 3-4 times and no one gets back with you. I’m owed $900 back from the hospital and no one will even talk to me about it.

  • Jessica Greer

Some details are extremely difficult to express on the internet, but aside from a few really good nurses and doctors, the rest not so much. I reported it and it was taken care of, but being afraid to express my needs really put me in an awkward position. I would give it 3 stars because of those that still care about their job. I will say the head of the nurses held them accountable. I have a hard time being here given I bad experience twice before.

  • Riff Raff

I was recently admitted to St. Joseph's hospital for a flu with pneumonia and I was treated with care and compassion, immediately triaged from the ER to a room. The Nurses and Doctors are great! I was taken care of and everything was explained in detail, plus when I had a question for anyone on staff, they listened intently and asked me questions if they didn't understand what I was saying. Best treatment ever,!

  • J R

I want to thank Kamu RN - from all the RN’s we met these last couple of days the only one who seemed to actually care about his patients was Kamu he went above and beyond, his professionalism and kindness is what patients in the oncology unit need! He needs to be compensated for all his hard work and generosity! Thank you Kamu I want you to know the work you do really makes a difference in your patience lives!

  • Ethel Hoffman

Easy in and out, but surgeon didn’t really explain in detail what he was going to do and never saw anesthesiologist again after brief intro before procedure. Once awake, wasted no time in getting me out. No take-home instructions for meds or care other than taping gauze below my nose. Can’t say I didn’t get good care, but definitely not compassionate care. Assembly line medicine. People are just widgets now.

  • Kim Ahrens

Everybody was very professional and friendly! I would’ve given 5 stars except I was in a lot of pain (both elbows broken) and had to have x-rays, and not having some kind of pain medication on site was agonizing!, I had to have x-rays prior to receiving pain meds! It posted as a an emergency room was deceptive a little because of that! For an urgent care, it was fantastic and would go back!

  • Kathy Keith

Dr Shah are the very best he saved my feet 4 years ago a Az nd con continues to do so everytime I mess up a toe or the bottom of my foot comes open again because I v listen to someone about not wearing my shoe to wear house shoe instead Never again will I listen to anyone but Dr Shah at St Joseph Out patios wound care This world needs more like him I thank God above for Dr Shah & his staff

  • Jessica Shiles

Pretty good for the most part. Pre-opp was a little intense for my procedure and then they didn’t even do half the stuff they said they were going to do post procedure (compression leggings, breathing exercises, ect.). Also, didn’t seem like docs even knew of the standard pre-opp protocol which was a little concerning. However, good bedside manner and the procedure when well.

My dr Son she is amazing. I have been going to dr appointment for years but no one ever seen to care about my medical care. After my first visit with dr son she had a plan for my care and 1 by 1 she uncover other conditions I never knew I had and other dr never check for. Dr Son is amazing and really take the time to listen to you and sets a plan to get u feeling better

All the nurses on the floor were great. I even tried to get up and help get my own coffee to free them up to help others and they still wanted to help me. Their care for patients is not seen at most other hospitals. This hospital should be the example of how to treat and handle patients. Thank you so much for the outstanding care you all gave me when I was down.

The architect of this building must have been both blind and slow. GPS directs you to the front of 5he building. Which neither has doors, markings or a parking kit. Infact GPS directs you into a private parking lot. You will then walk in circles around the building looking for the door. Nothing more pleasant than aggravation right before a doctor's appt.

Hello. I came in for a CT scan. I must say that everyone from the information desk, the receptionist, the CT tech, were all incredibly kind, helpful and understanding. I had a few dumb questions to ask and everyone treated me like they truly cared. Thank you so much to everyone for their kindness, helpfulness, and concern. Great personnel, thank you.

My first visit was let go w low levels should have not been allowed to be released! My Second visit was by far the worst experience in a two day span! With no attention no fluids given for potassium or magnesium when was severely low after first IV was done 3 hours prior! Some serious damage could have occurred! Worst experience ive had w St Joseph!

  • Renee Olson

Wait in ER was long and not something I wanted when I was in excruciating pain sitting in a waiting area. At least put me in a corner away from chaos in waiting area. I was crying in pain and needed to lay down rather than sitting in my wheelchair as I am paralyzed in left leg. Then I was there on a Sunday and didn't hear I had a UTI until Thursday.

My hospital stay, November 6th-10th, 2023 was made easier because of a great staff in 6HL. Special thanks to Grace Anthony and Ester Martin. These two ladys were professional in every way. Compassionate, caring and considerate of my comfort while I was treated. Thank you to each of you for your dedication towards your profession. Michael Sheahan

Unfortunately I ended up in the hospital, fortunately it was st. Joseph’s hospital, it was comforting to know that I was in good hands. Good communication with my doctors and super amazing care from all my nurses. The nurses at the medical icu are top notch, I was there 10 days at icu and saw how dedicated they all are. Thank you.

  • Rose Alvarado-Payne

The Doctor and the male nurses that were there made me feel comfortable and they comforted me during the procedure, but the male nurse prior to my procedure forgot to hook me up to the bag of fluids leeked all over my back and bed worse time ever, female nurse was courteous and very kind to us was really appreciate it

  • Christina

Thank you to the emergency department for taking such great care of my dad! The team functioned like a well-oiled machine and gave us confidence that we were in good hands. Everyone we encountered was knowledgeable, professional, attentive, and efficient, yet also personable and compassionate. We are so appreciative!

  • Noreen Stegkamper

Since Robert took over the Valet Service, the colleagues have been caring, thoughtful and willing to go above and beyond. Robert demonstrates that behavior with every visitor he encounters and is an excellent role model. He has taken the vallet service to a 5+ level. I appreciate all the help he has given me.

  • Lauren

For as stressed as I was going in for my very first surgery, I felt incredibly well taken care of at St. Joe’s. The staff were kind, caring, and very responsive to my needs and my questions. The waiting room and surgery recovery room are clean and comfortable. I’m very grateful for the care I received.

Went there with chest pains. Was able to park and was triaged quickly. I was connected and monitored and had my blood drawn within the first hour. Several staff came by to check on me often and my nurse Devan was very attentive. All and all it made a scary experience a lot less frightening.

  • Karen Stryker

I traveled from SEAZ 5 hrs to St Joseph Hospital, for 3 serious surgeries, because the quality of the Doctors n staff were top-noch. The communications of what to expect before n the followup afterwards could be improved; I'm still not sure when I can wash my hair after brain surgery.

  • Kim Kloeppel

The ICU nurses were very good-Daisy, Katie and Robert. Whitney was exceptional and did an excellent job of taking care of me. Kudos! The Dr’s worked well with the nurses and staff/Resident to keep me informed about my test results and discharge updates. Overall care was excellent.

  • Pamela Holden

Wonderful experience as usual. So organized and efficient, yet concerned and focused on my care at this facility. Doctors and staff are all so polite and professional but give individual attention on every visit. I am very happy to be a St. Joseph’s Dignity Hospital patient!

  • Darrell Darrah

Sent me home with covid and I didn't even know it was treated with no respect and rushed out I ended up going to another hospital the next day where I found out that I have covid and much more was wrong with me never ever will I go to that hospital again if I can help it

  • Patty Ashby

8-9 hours sitting in freezing rooms In uncomfortable chairs crowded with sick people in the ER. It was a nightmare- when I finally got in, the PA didn’t listen to my concerns seriously, even though my physician had instructed me to go to the ER. It was so frustrating.

  • Diane Davidson

I was in St Jo’s Hospital for 16 days. I was brought by Life Flight from St Charles in Bend Oregon. All of my nurses and Doctors were very good to me and there is no hospital I feel safer in! It is s a wonderful place where caring is a priority

  • Alexander Amador

Service and customer service here was great. Have been here a few times for myself and visiting family. The staff is super nice and overall all of the nurses, PA, security receptionist are all very caring understanding and just really helpful

  • Crystal N

I was looking for a faith based doctor being that this is SAINT JOSEPH medical center/ hospital. I looked into the doctors here and of course... they're not faith based or shared values... go figure.. I just need a non woke doctor please!

  • SHAWN SWARTZ

I was there for a bronchoscopy which went well but didn't begin for more than a half hour after the scheduled time. Being late leads to stress which contributes to my already high blood pressure. Other than that the procedure went well.

  • danielle gregorio

This has been the most unbelievable, unhelpful process. The emergency room here is actually laughable with how little they care about helping pain. Spent 7 hours here for no reason. I would give them negative stars if I could.

  • Sue Johnson

Dr. Huang, her PA Sara and her whole team is absolutely AMAZING! Also, a special shout out to the nurses on the 7th floor...Val, Mary and Lauren took excellent care of me during my stay... thanks gang...you ladies ROCK!!

  • Marshall Wilmot

I had several tests last Friday - it was a full day of scans and lung function tests and echocardiograms. The technicians were all professional and punctual and the cafeteria served a delicious breakfast while I waited.

  • Mimi Hagan

My experience was very positive, I needed a procedure called mometry. The nurse was a pro at this and guided me through everything. I had to drink and swallow and get the tracking device down. It was totally new to me.

  • Jalivia

Been here for 7 hours no one came to check on the patient or update us on when they’d be coming to scans that should’ve been done hours ago now I’ll have to wait another hour a half jus to wait for the results.

  • Val Schultheis
