Tried the beef shank noodle soup. The beef shank is very well marinated and cooked, authentic Chinese flavor despite the slice is a little too thick compared to what you would get in China. Amount of beef is generous considering the $15 price tag for a large bowl. The noodle is not the traditional Chinese style but very good. The broth is a little salty but acceptable. (The name “noodle soup” is a bit confusing imo. In China, you get this dish for the noodle and the beef, you don’t drink the broth. I would personally recommend just taking a few sips of the soup rather than drinking it all up. ) I give this an overall 9/10. Haven’t tried their bao’s because it is too pricey. The wait time between ordering and getting the food is not very long.

This was a great experience! I didn’t realize it was part of the Assembly Food Hall. It’s my first time visiting Nashville, so I was not familiar with the scene. The food was great and the service too. It would be helpful if they would update the instructions on finding the place…but yes, if you are looking for it, it’s worth finding! Go to Assembly Food Hall and it’s on the second floor of the left part of the restaurants. The atmosphere was fun, lots of places and tables to sit at, and there was live music! Check it out! I wanted a soup so I had Noodles with some seafood.

We placed our order for two beef noodle bowls with a coffee and soda and our order cost over $50. Fifteen minutes after we ordered I went to check on our food and it was only then begun, taking only 5 minutes to prepare. When we got to our table, what we had requested to be mild heat was so hot that we both choked (and we eat spicy foods). Draining the broth in order to at least eat something, we were presented with flavorless overcooked spaghetti. These people should be ashamed to be in business. Trying to discuss the issue with the cashier was pointless as he kept disappearing into the back. Don't waste time or money on these people.

I absolutely loved my experience dining here! I eat at this location every time I'm around the area and i've never really had a bad experience. One time one of the employees working there was a little bit rude when I messed up my order, but the food was good and It didn't bother me! Defiantly eat here if your in the area!

I'm not even kidding when I say that these dumplings were the best I've ever had. Pan seared and drizzled with hot chili oil. Delicious and filling. I even got a side of chili oil to dip them in and let me tell you that my lips were sizzling for an hour afterwards. One of the greatest choices in my life. Please, please, please try this place. You won't regret it!

I don't give one star often but when a manager on a Power trip wants to charge you for every single thing, that doesn't deserve a high rating. And when one of those items is an empty cup with a lid at $3, nope. I regret leaving that 20% tip. I mean I get there being a charge for a sauce and for a cup, but $3 for an empty cup, that's just ridiculous. So even though the food was mediocre, I am not happy. Plus the nasty attitude was icing on the cake

I work right across the street from the 501 commerce. I struggle with major depressive disorder and was having not so great of a day. Till I came here, the handsome lad behind the counter recommended the steamed pork boa bun. And when I say I jumped for joy when I ate this I literally mean it. I was jumping out of my seat because this boa bun made me feel so warm and happy. Y’all are the best thank you so much for the best boa bun I have ever had.

It's in a busy food hall and you'll likely have to wait a while, but it's totally worth it here. The soup dumplings are fantastic. And the beef ramen has a great, flavorful kick if you order it extra spicy. Make this your food hall pick!

Legit Chinese noodles (牛腩面) that understand what it means by “really spicy”. The fried dumplings are also very good with a lot of juice. Beef shank is almost comparable to the ones in China. Highly recommend.

Tasty coconut boba tea with tapioca pearls. The coffee boba, not as good. Steam buns, were okay. The filling had a very good taste, but the bun was dry. Sell soup dumplings, but they a limited number each day. Get there early, as that's the best item there.

No place makes hand-made bao much less tasty bao Til I came here, I mean. The owner is super cool and he really has passion for his business. The Boba tea is on point and the bao is so juicy it literally drips when you take a bite. It's super amazing. If you haven't been, freakin go my dudes. It's so good

Steam bun was awesome. Fried bun had a huge pocket of hot grease in it. Once I drained it, it was pretty good.

Worth coming by to try the soup dumplings! A little pricy, but worth it. Expect to wait about 15 minutes for them to be prepared; though they have an automated text-based order notification system so you can pick up some food or drink from another restaurant in the food hall while you wait.

I generally never leave a review but I must warn everyone of the quality of this establishment. The noodles were undercooked and tasteless. The broth was tasteless. The seafood in the noodles was tasteless and tasted spoiled. Shame to call this chinese food.

I had steamed bao buns before, these weren't the best.. Bulky dough and filling tasted just ok. Also didnt like the fact that buns were marked with some artifial looking coloring.

Ate here for the first time today. The two stars are because the boba tea was very good but the steamed bao we had were very appalling. They were just poorly seasoned meatballs that sit in the middle of an undercooked bun with oil dripping out.

Located in Assembly Hall. We ordered the steamed veggie and the seared pork baos. Great food, quick and friendly service. Would definitely come again.

Excellent steamed and seared bao, dumplings, noodles, and boba tea. There are vegetarian options on the menu. They are located on the second floor of the Assembly Food Hall at Fifth + Broad. Enjoy some live music as you eat!

  • Trish Parks

First experience eating bao and it did not disappoint! Tried steamed, boiled and seared and beef, pork and chicken. All had great texture and flavor. Service was courteous and quick. Would recommend to everyone!

  • Sam Ng

Soup dumplings were unexpectedly good. Beef shank noodles were tasty--good broth and meat, although I would have preferred more authentic Chinese Lamian than the more Americanized Lomein. Still pretty great!

  • Becca

Got Bao from the Steam Boys in Assembly Hall and thought it was decent. It could have been heated up a little bit more but the flavors were there for sure! The service was also good!

Soup dumpling is good. The seared bun is too oily for me
